Assign Action and user at runtime

Hello Experts,
     I have a requirement that we have to assign the action at runtime using the following way
TaskTaskDetail     User1(Executer)     User2(Reviwer)
XXXX     XXXX          Smith          John
YYY     YYYY     Sneha          Rama
Here Smith, John, etc... are the users that we have to assign at runtime while XXXX, YYYY are the actions having defined template.
Can you please give me the right path to achive this requirement?
Thanks in Advance

  • Human Task : assign task to user at runtime based on some conditions

    HI ,
    I have a requirement that is, Assign task to users/ groups at runtime for approval based on material qty. please help me in design approach to achieve the same.
    thanks in advance.
    Guru

    Hi Guru
    You can achieve this with and without business rules. I am assuming you have a payload with element like "qty". In task details page or somehow, this gets filled. Now later on you can have like this:
    1. Without Business Rules:
    a) Lets assume you have human tasks like ApproverDefault, Approver100, Approver200, ApproverAll etc.
    b) After your first Task, add a XOR Gateway. Default path of XOR goes to ApproverDefault. Then you have like 3 more paths with Conditions like qty between 0 and 100 goes to Approver100. Qty between 100 and 200 goes to Approver200. Qty more than 200 goes to ApproverAll.
    Quantity
    No conditions (Default) -> ApproverDefault
    qty < 100 -> Approver100
    qty > 100 and qty < 200 -> Approver200
    qty > 300 -> ApproverAll.
    2. With Business Rules
    a) This needs some learning. Please do refer detailed online docs. I am just giving brief steps. Create extra fields of type Boolean in payload like AutoApproved, NeedApproval100, NeedApproval200, NeedApprovalAny etc. Have more meaningful names as per your requirement and human task though.
    b) You need to drag and drop Business Rules component and edit it in JDeveloper.
    c) First create a Bucket set with Range of Values for Qty field like -infinity to 0, 0 to 100, 100 to 200, 200 to infinity. You just enter rows like 0, 100, 200, and rest is taken care to add these Ranges.
    d) Now create Decision Rules. For each range, create a action and set the flag(s) appropriately.
    e) See hello world example for exact steps and full understanding.
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/firstProcess/firstprocess_obpm11g.htm
    Pros & Cons:
    a) Without Business Rules is very simple and straight forward. Quick and easy to develop and test. But if you want to control the range of values for qty, you need to modify the process and redeploy. Its kind of tight.
    b) Business Rules gives more flexible. You can change qty at run time, provided you use BPM Composer. But takes some learing and needs some debug if it fails like that.
    There are many differences and pros and cons. But above are the main ones.
    If you are a beginner, go with First Approach for now.

  • GUI Actions and user priveliges

    Hi,
    Is there a design pattern that associates a type of user (eg 'standard', 'admin' and 'superuser') with a set of privileges and modifies/restricts actions within a GUI based on that set of privileges?
    Thanks
    Mike

    I've not seen one--but then I would not by any stretch of the imagination say that I am an expert on design patterns. What I have done in the past is make masks (power of 2--sets specific bit) for each feature that users could be able to use. Then or the appropriate masks together to give the users their rights in the GUI.
    ex:
    canRead: 0x0001;
    canWrite: 0x0002;
    canUpdate: 0x0004;
    canDelete: 0x0008;
    So a use that can Delete and Read would have mask 0x0009; can read, write, update, and delete would be 0x000F.
    If you want to check for rights:
    if((userRights & canRead) == canRead)  //the user has read rightsuse that logic to enable/disable each feature of your GUI.

  • How do I assign an action to a user at runtime in GP?

    Hi All,
    Can anyone give me an insight to how I can assign an action role to a user at runtime? My GP has around 7 actions. One of the actions determines a portal user via a RFC. The user id (portal id) returned by this RFC is whom I want to assign to the following action in the block. How can I achieve this?
    Thanks in advance,
    TM.

    Interesting disucssion..:) yeah You are correct you assign user to Role. But you also assign role to action by consolidating the action in one role in role consolidation of process.
    You can not assign the processor of action to action. Lets make it simple, I will try to explain the trick in simple terms.
                      Action    Input           output                                       Role
    [                        A       -                 UserId ( UniqueID )                   Inititator ][UserRoleAssignment) B      UserList-UserIdentifier                        ProcessorB   ]
                        [      C       X                   X                             ProcessorB   ]
    Now what happens in Action B is user which is input get assgined to Role ProcessorB ( becuase it is of that kind of callable object). Since once the user is (user-U) assigned to ProcessorB any of the subsequent step which needs to be performed by ProcessorB can be performed by  the same user user-U.
    Now I have explicity assigned the Action C to be in the same Role ProcessorB so it will be performed by user-X
    One more thing the userID which you have output is uniqueID not the logonID it has to be like USER.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un:00000006.
    And the ProcessorB needs to be defined as RuntimeDefined.
    Hope it make sense.

  • How to assign Action to multiple Users dynamically in GP

    Hello Experts,
    I have the following scenario in GP
    I have created a Web Dynro GP Callable Object and from my Web Dynpro i need to a pass a list of Users to which a particular Action needs to be assigned.
    I am able to return a single value from web dynpro to gp.
    Can some one help me how to return a list of users to gp.
    I have done the following: In the getDescription method I have added an attribute of multiplicity 1_N:
    IGPStructureInfo outputStruct = technicalDescription.getOutputStructureInfo();
    IGPAttributeInfo list1 = outputStruct.addAttribute("List1", IGPAttributeInfo.BASE_STRING);
    list1.setMultiplicity(IGPAttributeInfo.MULITIPLICITY_1_N);
    then in the complete method I am trying to set an Arraylist to this variable:
    IGPStructure output = execContext.getOutputStructure();
    output.setAttributeValue("List1", userList);
    Here userList is an Arraylist which contains the list of User Id's..
    However I get the following exception:
    com.sap.caf.eu.gp.exception.api.GPInvocationException: Multiplicity of attribute with name List1 and namespace null does not allow single values to be set/received
    at com.sap.caf.eu.gp.structure.impl.GPStructure.setAttributeValue(GPStructure.java:114)
    Can someone help me in knowing how I can return a list as an output parameter to GP from Web Dynpro...
    Regards
    Sundeep

    Hi Srinivasan,
    Of course the Role is Runtime defined...
    I would brief you again the mapping that I have performed in the Design time at the processlevel.
    From Web Dynpro I return a List of type String and Multiplicity 1..N.
    I map this List with the leaf item User Identifier contained in the User List Input parameter of the Assign User to Process Role callable object.
    However since the User Identifier parameter is of cardinality 0..1 only the first value in the returned list is getting assigned to it. Thus the task is getting assigned to only one user.
    Now it is not possible in Design time to Group or consolidate parameters of different types. Thus the List which is of type String cannot be mapped to User List or the User_Item contained within it which are both of type Structure and multiple cardinality.
    I even created a Structure in Web Dynpro of cardinality 1..N and withing it i included a List of type String and cardinality 1..N. Now I returned this Structure from Web Dynpro and tried to map it to the User Item Structure of the Assign User to Process Role Callable object, but doint this the task did not get assigned to any user..
    One question:
    Don't you think that in order for the task assignment to happen using the Assign User to Process Role Callable Object the leaf item User Identifier parameter contained in the User_List input parameter of this callable object needs to be populated with the required User Id's.
    But if the cardinality of this parameter is always 0..1 , is it possible to achive the assignment of an Action to multiple Users at runtime using this Callable Object?
    Can you please explain the parameter mapping you followed in order to achive this...
    Regards

  • Does an action of a GP process have to be assigned for a user

    Hi Everyone,
        I'm wondering, does an action of a GP process have to be assigned for a specified user?
        Can I implment the following senario:
        A specified action have to be completed by a user who has a certain role. Then anyone who has the role can see the process in his process list, and if one of them finishs the action, the process will be disappear from the other's list.
        Can I do that?
    B'Rgds,
    Yining

    Hi, my friend.
    Recently I found a process can only be initate by assign a user to every role.
    Although I have set the roles of the process to be "initation defined" and add the related roles as the "Default Roles", in the initiation screen of process, I got the warning "Assign at least one user to each process role".
    So how can I implement my purpose of don't have to assign the specific user to a process step?
    Thanks,

  • How can I localize the text of process names, task names and user actions within a process?

    I'm very interested in using the capabilities of Adobe LiveCycle Process Management for my project, however I have one rather large concern...   I hope someone here can tell me whether there's a way to address it.
    Since I work for the Government of Canada, I have to meet certain requirements relating to bilingualism of the user interface.  It's my understanding that the Workspace portion of LiveCycle has already has support for French.
    But what about the design of my processes?  How can I display text to a user in the language of their choice when they're interacting with my processes? ... in particular, I'm thinking about the process name, task names, and user actions.
    I hope that this is possible without too much pain.  I imagine this must be a pretty common requirement!
    Thanks in advance to all who respond.

    You can completely change the content of whole pdf by using "renderPDFForm" operation under service "FormsService". in this operation there is Template category where you can set the Locale.
    And if you need to change the other workspace options like Complete, Save as Draft , you can then import workspace ui project and then change apppropriate values.

  • How can the info block be assigned with the view and assign view to users.

    Dear Friends,
    Anyone could plz tell me how can the info block be assigned with the view and assign view to users.  Also how can the info block in sale summary be assigned with a view and how to assign this view for user.
    Regards,
    Ashima

    Hi,
    To define view and to make it default
    Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Define Reporting Views (Tcode:OVCD).
    To assign default user to the view.
    Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Assign Default View To User (Tcode:OVCC).
    To assign Elements of SAPScript "SD-SALES-SUMMARY" to information Blocks To A View use
    Goto SAP IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales Support (CAS) > Sales Summary > Assign Information Blocks To A View (Tcode:OVCB).

  • So Can I determine the business partners linked to user based on the assigned role and org. structure?

    Hello, I am working on a SAP CRM 7 Sales implementation and we are implementing leads and opportunity scenarios. The current business organization model is that there multiple vertical and horizontal departments. This is typical matrix structure. This organization has done the segregation of its clients based on the verticals so every clients belongs to at least one or more Vertical department but Horizontal departments can contact all the clients. In the same way sales executives are also either belonging to one or more Verticals or Horizontal departments? Horizontal sales executive can create leads for any clients available in the system but a Vertical sales executive can only create lead only for the client belongs to his vertical and assigned to him. This can be achieved by creating organization structure and business partner relationship.
    Now the problem statement is that few sales executives need work for both some Verticals and Horizontals at the same time. But requirement is that they should be able to do the both roles with single user id but multiple roles. So when sales executive is creating leads his vertical department, he should only be able to select clients assigned to his Vertical only but when he is creating lead for Horizontal department, he should be able to select any clients.
    So Can I determine the business partners linked to user based on the assigned role and org. structure?
    Please let me know if this is not clear also  note we are only using CRM WebUI no SAP ePortal.
    Thanks a lot your help in advance.

  • Assigning Queries and workbooks to user roles

    Hi Guys,
    I was hoping that someone could explain, how the queries, workbooks and Web Templates can be assigned to roles.
    What are the steps involved in creating the roles and assigning the queries.
    How are these reports accessed by the users (by URLs or through SAP GUI) If I would want to use the URLs to access them, how do I open the workbooks?
    I seem to have a lot of questions, hope to find answers to a few of them.
    Thanks,
    Doniv

    Hi Doniv,
    Queries, workbooks and web templates can be assigned to roles during the time that they are being saved. The assignment can also take place in PFCG > role. These kind of roles are usually basic placeholders that are assigned to different users as per requirements. This ensures that the usersa can see only those objects which are on the roles assigned to them.
    The workbooks are not accessed by a URL in the internet explorer, they are accessed in the BEx Analyser.
    Hope this helps...

    In other words i implemented a method that:
    1) search the roles assigned to a user and copy it to a List
    2) add to the List of the old roles, the new ones.
    Is it possible just to add the new roles without doing a search of the old ones? In this way the performance is better.

  • How can you assign user 1 to org 1 and user 2 to org 2. (Reports)

    if i use user 1 and user 2 for org 1 and org 2 respectively. I want user 1 can see the data of org 1 only not org 2 and same for user 2 can see the data for org 2 only how i can do this in reports. Now suppose you have 200 user and org then how you handle this in reports.

    Hi Ranjeet,
    Maintain a table with two fields - user & organisation.
    Fill it with proper user & his corresponding org details.
    While fetching the data for report output, take the user as input & fetch the corresponding Organisation.
    Then while preparing the final output data, prepare it based on the users organisation.
    Hope this helps you.
