Assign task with use a document variable

Hi,
  if i'm assigning a pdf document in assign task operation with use a document variable instead of application asset, I see the same old blank form after user submits the form.
what ever typed in the form is not seen in the output variable assigned in Assign user task.
If I use application asset and provide input xml, then I could see the filled form as output when user submits.
What should I do to get the filled data in the form?
Note: Reason for using document variable is I want to dynamically assign the form created in the process to assign task instead of getting from repository.
Highly appreciate your assistance.
Thanks,
kc

Ok. So are you populating document with the values entered by user in process before assigning.
Best approach is to xml and application asset.
And do you have your pdf document binded with xml schema. If not then you wont have fields populated in any way.
Thanks,
Prashast

  • WLPI - Problem with AI Service Call in Task with AI Service start - Variables

    Within WLPI I cannot succesfully call an AI service with variables that have been
    collected via an AI start. These variables have been collected ok as I have done
    an XPath on the variable and succesfully stored them in a string Variable. So
    a succesfully AI start is working. The issue is when I try to pass these values
    I have collected in their respective string variables to the next task which I
    will be executing an AI Service. I do this by setting a workflow variable and
    using the schema for the AI service. In the XML structure screen, I have put the
    string variable at the respective element. So on the left I have my element and
    on the right I have inserted my value (i.e, $strLastName).
    When I run the workflow, I do not see any inserts on the AI service I am calling.
    However, when I hard code a value in the XML schema "HELLO " + strFirstName it
    of course inserts Hello but not the value (i.e, strFirstName). So I know I have
    the correct assignment of variable to be set etc. Also, without the hardcoding
    it is inserting a blank row (i.e, value='').
    Please, help with this issue.

    Dear anonymous,
    I have created an AI application view and a BPM workflow that demonstrates how to
    populate an AI service call with strings extracted from an AI event response
    document. This workflow also demonstrates concatination of literal strings with
    string variables.
    Here are some steps that you will need to follow to setup this AI application view
    and workflow:
    1. startweblogic from either the
    'samples' or 'mydomain' found under WLI_HOME/applinteg/config. (Note, if you start
    from 'mydomain', be sure to populate your database repository with the scripts in
    WLI_HOME/repository/, WLI_HOME/processintegrator/ddl, and
    WLI_HOME/applinteg/dev/dbms/src/sql.)
    2. Open a web browser to http://<machine>:<port>/wlai
    Examples:
    from samples domain
    http://localhost:7603/wlai
    Login as system/system
    from mydomain
    http://localhost:7601/wlai
    Login as admin/security
    3. Create a folder named 'DBMS' and go into that folder
    4. Create a folder in the 'DBMS' folder named 'DBMS_A' and go into that folder
    5. Create an application view named 'db_av1'
    6. Add an event that triggers on insert named 'insEvt'
    7. Add a service named 'updTemp' that executes the following SQL...
    UPDATE <db info>.CUSTOMER_TABLE SET CITY=[CITY VARCHAR]WHERE LASTNAME=[LASTNAME
    VARCHAR]
    (Note: Replace '<db info>' your database schema and/or catalog information)
    8. Add a service named 'insSvc' that executes the following SQL...
    INSERT INTO <db info>.CUSTOMER_TABLE (FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME, CITY, EMAIL) VALUES
    ([FIRSTNAME VARCHAR],[LASTNAME VARCHAR],[CITY VARCHAR],[EMAIL VARCHAR])
    (Note: Replace '<db info>' your database schema and/or catalog information)
    9. Add a service named 'listCustomers' that executes the following SQL...
    SELECT * FROM <db info>.CUSTOMER_TABLE
    (Note: Replace '<db info>' your database schema and/or catalog information)
    10. Click 'Continue' deploy the the application view
    11. In the Deploy Application View screen make sure to specify an event router with
    the port corresponding to your domain. (e.g.
    http://localhost:7603/DbmsEventRouter/EventRouter)
    12. Bring up studio using 'studio_wlai.cmd/sh'
    13. Import the attached workflow package 'TestXmlVar.jar'
    14. Trigger the workflow my testing 'insSvc' from the Application View Summary web
    page. Fill in the service parameters with a firstname, lastname, city, and email.
    Press test to start the test.
    15. List the contents of CUSTOMER_TABLE by testing the 'listCusomers' AI service or
    by doing a select on that table in your database.
    Results:
    You should notice that the customer you inserted has a city name that is now in the
    form "New "<city>" City".
    Look at the Start node actions to see the population of the city and lastname string
    variables. Look at the request cocument in the AddToCity task for the updTemp
    service call by clicking edit on the request document variable. You will notice that
    the LASTNAME field was populated with the strLastName variable and the CITY element
    is populated with the strCity variable with "New " and " City" appended to both ends.
    Hope this works for you,

  • Issue with use of shared variables in Crystal Reports 2008 Offline Viewer

    Hi,
    I have a report that contains a number of sub-reports which include drill-down functionality. The report returns data relating to an individual team with the user being able to view top level summary information in each area from the parent report and then drill into the sub-reports to view see more detail. The data returned by the sub-reports is filtered, using sub-report links, based on the team code parameter value given by the user. This parameter field resides in the main report.
    One of the values returned by the main report is the team name. This is passed to each sub-report using a shared variable and each sub-report displays this team name as part of a heading.
    This all works fine in Crystal Reports 2008, but when a report, containing data, is opened using Crystal 2008 Offline Viewer there is a problem with the shared variable. The value is displayed correctly when the user initially drills into the sub-report. However, when the user begins to drill into grouped data within the sub-report the value passed to the sub-report using the shared variable disappears.
    How can I ensure that, when a report is viewed using Crystal Offline Viewer 2008, the value within the shared variable is not lost when users drill into grouped data within sub-reports
    Thanks
    Stuart

  • How to store email content as a document variable?

    Hi there,
    I have a question where I need to store the content of an email-service into a txt-file. I guess I should somehow put it in an document variable, how can this be done?
    Thanks in advance
    Sincerely
    Kim

    Kim
    I would suggest one of the following two methods:
    1) Prior to sending the email with the SendEmail service, build the email contents via SetValues and using String process variables. Have one String for the subject (i.e. sSubject) and one for the body (i.e. sBody) and build your content appropriately. You can use multiple SetValues or you could do it all in one. After your email's body is done being built, use a SetValue to set it to a Document variable (i.e. docBody = sBody). You can then use this Document variable as the input to your SendEmail service's body parameter. What you have then is a Document containing all the content of the email's body that you can now write to the filesystem, archive to a repository or do whatever you'd like with. Please note that if you are using HTML formatting for the email's body that your Document variable will literally have the HTML code in it. This means that if you, say, archived the Document to the file system as a .txt and then opened it, you would see all the content but it would have all the HTML code with it. To get around this, you might consider archiving the email contents as a .htm or .html file. This will cause the file to open in the system's default browser for viewing but it will also only display the actual content formatted per your HTML code.
    One other thing to note is that if you wanted the subject to be part of the archived file's contents as well, you could simply do a String concatenate of the body String (sBody) to the subject String (sSubject).
    2) If the emails you are sending go to the same email box(es) each time, you might consider building a second orchestration that uses an Email endpoint to watch the box(es). With this, you could monitor those inboxes and handle incoming messages appropriately.
    Please do let me know if you have any questions.

  • Assign Task Custom Notification Properties

    Does anyone have a problem with missing properties when creating an Assign Task with the UserServiceV2 in ES?    According to this document, there should be a way(Custom Email Templates property group) to override the default system notification settings.  How can the notifications be customized?
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/workbenchHelp/help.htm?content=000995.html

    Gilbert, thanks.  It was the show "All" and not the "Basic" configuration properties that I was looking for(duh).
    I'm still having the problem that I described in this thread though.  http://forums.adobe.com/message/3564992#3564992
    I thought I was experiencing a similar problem today, and that's why I started the new thread.  The problem described in the other thread occurs consistently, and my co worker does not have the problem.

  • Use of a variable to reference a text box in an instance

    Hi,
    I have been enjoying the discussions on this board and have learnt a lot from them thus far.
    I have a question, but I don't know if I can't word it correctly, or I am looking in the wrong place.
    Lets say I have 3 Movie Clip Symbols in  my Library : Movie0, Movie1 and Movie2
    Each movie has a dynamic text box: "TextBox1"
    I want to be able to write a function that can manipulate the alpha(or any attribute) of the TextBox1 in all three MovieClips.
    In my limited experience I thought I could do something like the following:
    for (var row:int = 0; row < dataArray.length; row++)
    Movie(row).TextBox1.alpha = 1;
    I hoped that this would loop through 3 times and set the alpha of the TextBox1 in all three movies to 1.
    Is this possible? Can you reference an instance with use of a variable?
    Any advise is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers!

    You say these movieclips are in your library, so no code can affect them while they are there, except to create instances of them dynamically and place them on the stage.
    So I'll assume you mean you have dataArray.length number of movieclips on the stage with the instance names following the naming scheme you indicated:
    for (var row:int = 0; row < dataArray.length; row++)
        this["Movie"+String(row)].TextBox1.alpha = 1;

  • Using team assignment pool with milestone tasks

    Hello,
    Can someone explain to me why the team assignment pool functionality is only available for tasks with non-zero durations?  In other words, any milestone task cannot be self-assigned using this feature.  When one attempts to do so, the "One
    or more of the specified tasks could not be re-assigned ..." error is observed and the self-assignment is not processed.
    However adding a duration of 1 minute to the task solves the problem and the functionality works perfectly.
    Is there any reason for this restriction?  In practice it is often useful to allow team members to update milestone dates.  In fact, the ability to do so is available without issue if the assignment is performed via MS Project Pro rather then as
    a team assignment in PWA.
    Is this a bug, or is there a grand design behind it?
    Thanks,
    Boris

    Hi Boris,
    We are just non-microsoft volunteers here on those Project forums thus have to clear asnwer for your question.
    That being said, a milestone should not represent an activity resources are working on. Moreover they have a 0 duration, thus they don't trigger any work. Reporting on itmes that don't work, neither progress does'nt make sense in my point of view. A milestone
    is a only the result of an activity, like a deliverable.
    Finally, the project manager is accountable for updating milestones since he'll be reporting to his board on those milestones he owns (and not the team member). I'd said that team member will send the task progress to the project manager with eventually
    the remaining work, which will update the milestones dates in case the PM approves. In my opinion, this should be done that way.
    Hope this helps,

    * Please tell me how to assign project specific task with the newly created projects??? *
    Also please tell me how to assign multiple * Project_Relationship_Code * (ex: END CLIENT, GENERAL CONTRACTOR, PRIMARY) for a particular project during project creation?

    Are you not storing the project number in the staging table designed for storing the task data? You can use create_project API to create the project and tasks at the same time with one single call. You may want to try that option

    The solution would only work on MS IE browsers, as other browsers do not support an XML DOM.
    It can be done, but you would be stuck with using the Microsoft broswer. If that is acceptable, I have some example code, and a book recommendation.

  • How to use a multiple boards (6321/6323) analogical acquisition task with simultaneous analogical generation task using the same boards (Labwindows CVI10)

    Subject : it seems impossible to run a multiple boards analogical acquisition task with one or several analogical generation task using the same boards.

           DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan (AOtaskHandle_C2_DAC0, chan, "", min, max,DAQmx_Val_Volts, "")); // chan vaut Dev2/ao0
    At the first DAQmxReadBinary call attempt, the system shows an error (see attached document)
    What we understand about that error : it is impossible to run the two set of tasks (ai and ao) using ressources from both Dev1 and Dev2 in the set of tasks because it is not allowed to use the same Reference Clock for that.
    The question is : is there a way to to that without having that kind of message?
    We tried different combinations :
    - Using only one ao task (on Dev1/Dac0) : same error
    - Not using any ao task (only the ai task) : no error
    - configuring the ai task with only channel from Dev1 : no error
    - Using "/Dev1/ai/SampleClock" as internal clock for the ai task and "/Devk/ao/SampleClock" for each ao task (k standing for "1" or "2" depending of the ao task we consider) : error
    Thanks a lot.

  • Use a single variable value to compare with 2 characteristics

    Hi guys
        I need some advice on how to use a single variable value to compare with 2 characteristics in a Infocube.
    eg : I hv 2 characteristics in Infocube
           Launch date  &  Closing Date
       Now I want to display report where the variable date (inputted by user) is equal to Launch Date and Closing Date.
        with regards

    Bobby,
    if I right understood your situation, you have an input variable ZINPUT (related to a date 'A') and 2 others dates (yours Launch and Closing dates, 'B' and 'C').
    You want to display only the rows where A(user input)=B=C.
    Now you have to create 2 new variables (called ZB and ZC, related to B and C dates) NOT marked as 'ready for input' and set to 'mandatory variable entry'.
    Call Transaction CMOD for the definition of the customer exit (if not already existing!).
    Create a new project, maintain the short text, and assign a development class.
    Goto Enhancements Assignments and assign RSR00001. Press the button components to continue.
    Double-click on EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001. For documentation place the cursor on RSR00001 and use the menu Goto -> Display documentation.
    Then double-click on ZXRSRU01. If the include doesn’t exist you have to create it; assign a development class and a transport request.
    Enter the coding:
    DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.
    DATA: LOC_VAR_RANGE LIKE RRRANGEEXIT.
    CASE I_VNAM.
    WHEN 'ZB'.
    (and you have to repeate the same code also for the variable 'ZC' !)
    IF I_STEP = 2.
    READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    WITH KEY vnam = 'ZINPUT'.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW  = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.
    endif.
    L_S_RANGE-sign = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-opt = 'EQ'.
    append L_S_RANGE to e_t_range.
    ENDIF.
    ENDCASE.
    Save and activate the coding and the project.
    Now go to your query and use these two new variables to restrict B and C....et voilà !!!
    Let me know if you need more help (and please assign points !!! be generous !!!)
    Bye,
    Roberto

  • New task assigned to user from CurrentItem:UserField using Assign task action is assigned to different user.

    Hello !
    I have run into "funny" problem.
    I have following workflow:
    User is creating item in ListA. In new form he needs to put Manager which is User Field column type. From people picker he is choosing login name Domain\jo (Two letters seems to be important here). User is resolved correctly to John Doe. Item is saved and
    added to list correctly. In list view John Doe is displayed in Manager column. In view item John Doe is in Manager field. In powershell Id;#John Doe is as a Manager field value.
    Now the "funny" part:
    After item is added to ListA workflow is started automatically. Workflow is assigning new task to user from Manager (CurrentItem:Manager) field using Assign task action. Now the new task is assigned to different person i.e. John Dimagio with login name DOMAIN\jod
    ! When I am logging value to wf history of the CurrentItem:Manager field I am getting sth like i;123#DOMAIN\jod . So value is completely different and wrong.
    Can someone explain why is this happening?
    My guess is that using two letters login name can cause such case but why ?

  • Using collections / Bind variables with a PL/SQL functio returning a query

    I have this code, which is supposed to assign collection variables as column names
    FOR i in 1 .. Collection_count -1
    LOOP
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=i;
    SELECT c002 into varholder FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=i;
    vQuery:= vQuery || 'SUM(decode(label, ''Aware'', product_'|| i || ', ''Expert'', product_' || i || ', ''Proficient'', product_' || i || ', ''Advanced(Demo)'', product_' || i || ' )) as ';
    vQuery:=vQuery || varholder || ', ' ;
    END LOOP;
    I've tried &P341_M1. , :P341_M1, ':P341_M1', varholder
    When I try '&P341_M1' it returns the whole SUM(decode... line as the label
    Basically Im having a hard time using bind variables with the PL/SQL returning a query...anybody?

    Ok so working through this problem more I have realized that the problem is using the for loop i as an index value
    This will get a value:
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=2;
    But this won't
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=i;
    I'm in the for loop, and use the i variable in other places within this loop...Is there a reason why I can't compare seq_id to i?
    My new code as follows:
    FOR i in 1 .. Collection_count -1 --apex_application.g_f01.COUNT - 1
    LOOP
    varholder:=i;
    SELECT c002 into :P341_M1 FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=2;
    SELECT c002 into varholder FROM APEX_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MA_SKILLS' AND seq_id=4;
    vQuery:= vQuery || 'SUM(decode(label, ''Aware'', product_'|| i || ', ''Expert'', product_' || i || ', ''Proficient'', product_' || i || ', ''Advanced(Demo)'', product_' || i || ' )) as f';
    vQuery:=vQuery || :P341_M1 ||i||', ' ;
    END LOOP;

  • Problems with Assign Task operation

    I'm having a problem with the Assign Task operation. When I export an application of the LiveCycle ES2 environment and import into another environment LiveCycle ES2, my process get stalled in the all Assign Task operations, and the only way to solve the problem I found is to redo all the Assign Task operations. But in an application with many Assign Task operations, this solution becomes very complicated.
    Anyone who has encountered this problem could help me better to fix it?

  • Using a environment variable that was created during the Task Sequence process - SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
    I'm triyng to use a environment variable that is create in the beginning of the Task Sequence.
    1. I'm using a VBScript that get the Exit Code of an application, and create the environment variable "iReturn" with the value of the exit code. (This is working)
    2. I add this variable in the CustomSettings.ini, like this "iReturn=%iReturn%
    3. After the step that I run the VBScript I put the "Gather" step to get the variables, but looking in the BDD.log the iReturn variable appears the same as the CustomSettings.ini configuration "iReturn=%iReturn%". (But, if I put a "Restart
    Computer" step after the VBScript, the BDD.log shows the iReturn variable with the right code.)
    Question: How can I update the environment variable of Windonws XP to use in the Task Sequence without restart.
    OR
    How can I configure autologon in SCCM 2012 (if have no way to update withou restart computer).
    I already tried the autologon with registry settings and a specific user, If I starts the process with this user works, but If I starts the process with other user, after the autologon the process doesnt continue, I have to do logoff and login with the user
    that I started the process.
    PS: All this steps have to be executed before the WinPE phase.

    Environment variables must be explicitly set every time a system boots so unless you have a process to repopulate it after the reboot, it won't persist automatically.
    Why not store the value in a task sequence variable so that it persists after a reboot?
