Assigning an attendance to Holiday Calendar  !

Hi All,
We have a situation where the employee can work on holidays. If they work on holidays , they enter an attendance type say 2000 - Holiday worked.  While entering time in CATS.., this attendance type must be entered. But we also want to make sure that this attendance type can be entered only on the holidays.. if  an employee tries to enter att type 2000 on any other day apart from holiday , the system should give an error. 
Question: Is there a way in IMG/config that an attendance type can be attached/tied to a holiday calendar so that the above functionality can be achieved..
If not.. then i guess CATS0006 would come to my rescue ??

We had a similar(I can say same) requirement and as far I was able to search through, there wasnt any IMG configuration step to achieve this requirement. But CATS0006 is a God Sent! :)..It does the work perfect!..Just compare the holiday class for a particular day and ascertain whether the required absence type is entered and based on the holiday class of the day, throw an error message as required.

    Hi Tomesh,
    Floating Holidays are created for holidays for which the dates are not decided for the years ahead or dates may changes each year or when a unusual holiday is just introducted for one year.
    1.Use transaction SCAL or use the IMG path to the holiday calender.
    2.Create a new holiday and select the option " is a movable holiday".
    3.Fill in the " public holiday attribute tab" and hit insert date.
    4.Fill in the year, month and date for the floating holiday or you could do multiple years at the same time if dates are know and hit create.
    5. The new public holiday is created.
    6.Assign the new holiday to the holiday calender, while saving you will get a message that " an irregular public holiday is created and being save hit ok. This message will appear in cases when the holiday calender validity and the validity of the floating holiday are matching.
    Generate the work schedules and check if th holiday appear in the work schedule.
    Award point if useful.

  • Adding a past holiday in Holiday Calendar

    We have a Holiday Calendar for our organisation. However, 14th April being notified later was not added in the Calendar. I want to add it now in such a way that the IT2001 (which is already updated as Not Marked for all the employees for 14th April) is overwritten and 14th April is reflected as a Holiday.
    Pls give me step by step procedure to do so.

    3. Re-generate the work schedules - PT01
    4. Run report RPTUPD00 to revaluate the absence records - SE38

    I have Personnel subarea is SAP. But in screen of Assign Personnel subarea to public holiday calendar, I don't see Personnel subarea is SAP. Why?

    I processed the issue. Actually I only need access Enterprise Structure in IMG. Check again in part Assignment --> Human Resources Management --> Assignment of Personnel Area to Company Code.

  • Absence Quota Change ( Without Time Evaluation )-Change in Holiday Calendar

    Hi Experts, We have scenario where we need to change the holiday calendar. Add additional holiday. This can be done through SCAL and after that we can generate work schedule through PT01 for the month where the holiday is added. We are not using time evaluation. Our time manangement status is 0 in IT0007. The input I require is how to correct the absence quotas of employees for which they have applied leave for the period where the new given holiday is created. Please advise. Thanks in advance.     Hi,
    Standard SAP provides TCode PT_UPD00 for this purpose. It calls program RPTUPD00 which creates a batch input session for revaluating absence and attendance records. You can use this program to resave all the leaves which overlap the given date which is now a public holiday.

    This is in regard to the Holiday Calendar When iam tring to create it its showing the error as "A date was Already entered for this year" but when i try to assign a different date for the public holiday also its not taking .. and when i chkd the List of Public holiday its not showing the holidays for the same day

    HI Bharath,
    First delete the holiday(which u want to delete ) in the list of holidays calender ID.
    Than Create the same in the holidays than again assign the to your Holiday calender ID.

  • Problem with holiday calendar

    Hi Experts,
    I need to configure different holiday calendars for worker and managemnet employee group in the same personnel area and sub area.I am not able to configure this as under "Set work schedule rule" node we can specify only holiday calendar per personnel area and sub area.
    Please let me know if there is any way to achieve this.

    Actaully i was talking about view V_001P_M. in this view when we maintain holiday calendars for personnel area and sub areas, infotype 0007 will show (in search help) only those work schedule rules which has got the same holiday calendar in it.
    example:
    I have already created two calendars say ZM for management and ZW for workers for personnel area (say) MUMB and personnel sub area (say) 0001. i have assigned ZM holiday calendar in V_001P_M for PA MUMB and PSA 0001.
    I have also generated two WSR with ESG grp 1 from Management and 2 for workers. WSR for management is generated with ZM calendar and for workers with ZW calendar.
    now when i got to infotype 7 to assign workschedule rule for a worker in same PA and PSA it display only 1 workschedule rule in the serach help which is for management (coz i have mentioned ZM in V_001P_M). Now how to assign woker's workschedule rule?

    In a year or month, most of the Wednesday's are holiday however few of the Wednesday's will be working day. So we want to know if there is any chance of changing the setting in Holiday Calendar to declare wednesday as working day, at that point of time (that is, when we come to know this week, that next week wednesday is a working day).

    Hi,
    I would suggest you to use the functionality of special days for this purpose.
    Create two selection rules for day types - 21 and 22.
    They should be similar to the date type rules currently assigned to these WSRs.
    Delimit the WSRs and assign them from the effective date.
    Go to Table T553S and assign the relevant date for rule 21 and the relevant date for 22.
    Generate the WSRs and you will have the public holidays assigned for these days.

  • Holiday calendars

    Hi all,
                     I need your suggestion to solve this issue related to public holiday calendars. Jul 4th(paid) is a public holiday and that has been assigned as a fixed day/date when created. In the calendar where it is used, the validity dates have been given as 2004-2005 and it was not used for the year 2006. Instead some other name was used (unpaid). Now, I need to assign the July 4th (paid) public holiday to the same calendar.
    When I go in to assign holiday, it does not show the July 4th (paid) holiday to be reassigned. The overall validity of the calendar is till 2007.
    July 4th - 2004 - 2005
                - I need to assign this to 2007 again
    Please advise.

    I've been arguing this issue with SAP for a long time.  We have the same problem only ours is more complex because we have over 20 sites and in any given year a site may or may not take a particular holiday.  As a result, we ended up creating a separate holiday for each site (i.e. 20 4th of Julys).
    Prior to 4.6c it was possible to assign the same holiday more than once.  In 4.6c SAP changed transaction SCAL so that it is no longer possible.  The problem is with the transaction itself.  You can modify table THCOD directly using SE16 and everything (time,payroll, etc) will work fine but then transaction SCAL will abend.   What we want to do should be possible since the end year is a key field.

    for appearing in the holiday calendar of 2009, the Validity year of ur holiday calendar should contain the year  2009. say,                
    Valid  Fr.year  2008
           To year  2010
    For the day to be a OFF day u have to re-generate the existing work schedule as i mentioned earlier. Only then the new holidays assigned to ur holiday calendar will be taken by the Work Schedule.
    U must give the same Holiday class to ur new holidays (Same that u used to create ur earlier holidays to avoid confusions......)

    Dear Babuji,
    1.Do you want to add or delete a holiday from the holiday calendar,then in SCAL->Holiday Calendar in change mode->Select
    the ID> and then in change mode->select it and click on delete assignment.
    If you want to assign a new  holiday,then click on assign holiday and select the already created list of public holiday and then
    proceed.
    2.If you want to define a new holiday,then in SCAL-->select the radio button for public holidays and in chaneg mode --->create
    and then select the type for fixed date or fixed day from date or floating public holiday.
    3.Then you can assign this new holiday in a holiday calendar and then to a factory calendar.
    Check and revert

    I have created Holiday Calendar for 2009 through SCAL. After that I had generated work schedule rule through PT01. But after generating work schedule, 19th Oct,2009 which was marked as public holiday in the calendar is not coming as an OFF day in work schedule.

    Hi friend
    First please check your Holiday Calender.  See whether the holiday is assigned to your holiday calender and make sure that you have assigned to your personnel subarea grouping and employee subgroup grouping.  Once you finish that, please run PT01.  After this go to PT03, give the correct information like the employee grouping, holiday calender, personnel subarea grouping and work schedule rule.  Give the current year 012009 to 122009 and select the ALV list and display the information.  If all the specified information is given correctly, it will work.

  • HR-TM: Two Holiday Calendars That Have Different Non-working Days?

    Dear All,
    Please help me on the predicament below:
    I need to create two holiday calendars.
    Holiday Calendar 1 will have Saturday and Sunday as non-working days.
    Holiday Calendar 2 will have Friday and Saturday as non-working days.
    And both holiday calendars are used in the same country.
    Then, there is one holiday which is assigned to both holiday calendars such as New Year Day.
    How can I configure so that
    1) if New Year Day falls on the first non-working day of each week of each holiday calendar, the holiday will be moved to the previous day?
    2) if New Year Day falls on the second non-working day of each week of each holiday calendar, the holiday will be moved to the following day?
    Should I create two lines of data for New Year Day so that each of them assigned to different holiday calendar?
    Or I can just use one New Year Day in both holiday calendars?

    I've got my answer.
    First calendar, i use fixed date and floating date for the public holiday based on the real situation.
    Second calendar, i use floating date for all the public holiday, then set the date every year once.

    I know to create a holiday calendar but my query is what is the advantage in creating a Public Holiday with Fixed date and Floating Public holiday.

    Holidays which fall on a fixed day of any year will be defined as Fixed public Holidays (Ex:- Independence Day, Republic day, Christmas etc) whereas holidays for which no fixed day is allocated is defined as a Floating Holiday (Ex:- Ramzan, Dusheera, Diwali etc)
    Such a provision is made because we can define a holiday calender for a number of years. As a fixed holiday is always present we can assign it for the entire period (as long as the holiday calender is valid)
    The floating hilidays need to be defined for a particular year

    Factory calendar needs to be maintained if you're using some logistics module that require factory calendar.
    (Generally for running MRP - Material resource planning, etc. factory calendar maintenance is a must)
    Holiday calendar should have been maintained before factory calendar and holiday cal is assigned to factory cal.
    Each factory calendar should be assigned to a plant.
