Assignment Wbs in Appropriation request (SAP Investment Management) viaBapi

HI All,
In order to meet the need of my customer, we made a program ( with BAPI ) in order to automatically create the Appropriation request and the project definition and Wbs by uploading a file...first steps works fine until the creation of the WBS
the assignment of WBS to approriation request is not possible , receiving error message project definition does not exist but when I check the project definition via cj03 , I find my project !!! I checked also that the field INACT is empty in ia table PROJ ,
How can I assign a WBS to an appropriation request ??

Yes , it's was done !!!
the problem is that I turn in round , I don't know if something is missing of or the order of the objects created is correct
1) Appropriation Request ( via Bapi BAPI_APPREQUEST_CREATE )
2 )BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT and wait
3)Activate Project Definition to assign WBS Element for Appr.Requ (CJDW_PROJ_ACTIVATE_IM)
4)Change now the Appr.Request to add the WBS Element. (BAPI_APPREQUEST_CHANGE)
5 BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT and wait
6)Create WBS Element (BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION after BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI)
7)BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT
8) BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT and wait
*Error message received WBS element BE/10/IPKG/1404/D-056 does not exist*
*Message no. ABPS021*

Hi ,
To edit an existing appropriation request, select it in the worklist, and choose Change or Delete. You might have to generate a new worklist. You specify the search criteria by choosing New selection.

Hi All,
I am going to implement appropriation request and Investment management.
1st. What kind of configuration required?
2nd. How can we activate the workflow for the appropriation request ?
3rd. Can we linked the appropriation request to IM module ? in another word, let say we have put some amount in appropriation request, then can we make it automatically allocated in IM module
4th. Please advice.

Appropriation Request Flag - Ordinary/Extra-ordinary budget

I want to identify which Appropriation Request will erode a budget of type ordinary or extra-ordinary. Instead of creating a separate level in my investment structure, I want to flag my Appropriation Request with a tag which I can identify in reports.
Which transaction/component in SAP IM will let me do this?
I have tried without luck with STRGTFLG.... Any help....

Do you want to use some of the standard fields available in the master data of the appropriation request like Appropriation Request Type?
If none of the standard fields provided by SAP are suitable for User Fields can also be added. Attached screen shot will expalin what I meant.
Please see this documentation Functions of the Appropriation Request Type - Investment Management (IM) - SAP Library especially the paragraph "Master Data".

Undo rejected appropriation request

Hi all,
I would like to know is it possible to undo the rejected (REJD) appropriation request within Investment Management module? Should there any config to be done for such case?

Try clicking the 'Postpone Approval' under the control tab if the Appr Req. This is next to 'Set delection flag'. This will set back the status.

Investment management - Assignment od AR to Multiple program Positions

Hi,
Does any body has worked on a scenario of assigning the appropriation requests to more than one program positions.
I know that the AR can be assigned to more than one position. But i am not able to see this request in IM52 T code which is used to distribute the Budget to measure from Investment program positions.

Hi Rajesh,
As I wrote earlier this is a constraint in the system that an investment object (say top level WBSE) can receive budget only from a single IM prog node. You can check this for yourself at the following place:
SPRO=>Investment Management=>Investment Programs=>Master Data=>Define Program Types
Check the 'Budgeting indicators' and uncheck 'Single Assignment' indicator.
When you try to save you'll get following warning message:

Only single assignments are allowed when using budget distribution
Message no. AP276
Diagnosis
You specified budget distribution in your program type. When budget distribution is activated, you can assign measures and appropriation requests to only one investment program position. Multiple assignment to different program positions is not allowed.
System Response
The system does not allow the combination of budget distribution and multiple assignment.
Procedure
When using budget distribution, set the 'single assignment' indicator.

Further, with every thing being correct, the current status of your Inv measure should allow Business transaction 'Budgeting' other wise this Inv Measure will not be visible in IM52 T-code.

Appropriation Request (IM) to WBS

I am trying to assign many appropriation request to one WBS. I have many request i.e. appropriation request for the same project. Would it possible to do it in SAP?

Hi Tony,
You can only relate one WBS or Internal Order to one Appropriation request.
There is one more limitation, only for 1st Level WBS Element can be assign to the Appropriation request.
If you have many appropriation requests for the same project.
i can suggest you to remove the "only one root" check in the project profile and try to create as many WBS as you want at the first level and assign each WBS to one Appropriation requst manually.
So that you can see all the appropriation requests to single project.
If you try to create automatic project from the appropriation request then the above mentioned concept doesn't work.

Appropriation Request authorizations

How can I manage my Appropriation Request if one of the steps requires a project to determine its outcome (approval/refusal)?
My setup is as follows:
Appropriation Request 1 approval:
Step 1: Approve (y/n)
y
Step 2: Approve (y/n)
y
Step 3: Approve (y/n)
>>>> Create additional Appropriation Request
>>>> Appropriation Request outcome (if y then y, else n)
Step 4: Approve (y/n)
y
Step 5: Approve (y/n)
Appropriation Request approved >>> Investment Measure creation.
The reason for having this set up is because the authorizor might require a team of resources to analyze some factors to determine the outcome.
Is this possible to set up in SAP Investment Mangament?
If so how?

Hi Veronica,
If you are not using user status, then you can built different user status approval as user status.
These status can be activated at created between released, once the final status is reached, it can be released.
But you need to restrict the same with roles and authorization and requires security resource to complete the activity.
Another way is my using Person Involved, you can maintain the partner function and determine the list of approvers and you can also trigger email based on this. May be bit of Abap work is required.

Basics: Appropriation Requests and WBS elements (3/3)

Last question I promise!
1) Is it possible for more than one appropriation request to point at the same existing project without creating new different project.
As a solution, I though to create empty projects from AR in order to use the values of the program position they are linked to. Is this correct or are there other solutions?
With regards to the link reported below, am I right in assuming that not even the top WBS element (namely InfoSys, refer to graph in link) can be related to a program position in order to exploit the function.. or is it that only the WBS elements directly above and below it (refer to WBS:"software", in the graph) in the hierarchy should not be assigned to a program position to use the function.

Hi Jessica,
Can you point different AR to same project If its the same WBS answer is NO. if these are two separate WBS within the project Yes you can.
so assume you have two Level 1 WBS A and B within project XYZ. Then A can point to AR 1 and B can point to AR2.
But WBS A cannot point to AR1 and AR2. Hope it clears your doubt on 1st Question.
Why you want to do that? Whats the business rationale behind it? Usually AR is used to approve a business investment plan and it will be associated with that particular project. So the best practice in SAP is to have a one to one relationship between AR and SAP Investment Project.
On your understanding of the Graph. You are 100% correct. Neither Inf. Sys nor Software can be assigned to a Program Position ID as the WBS Application is already assigned to a Program position ID.

Not possible to delete link investment program position from Appropriation request

Dear specialists,
We have a problem with deleting a linked investment program position in an appropriation request (IMA3, IMA11 or IMA12).
We could edit some of the appr.req.'s but a few give an error.
Steps done:
We deleted the status BUDG from the linked projects (budgets deleted and OPSX for deletion of status).
The we run the IM27_repeat.
For the most of the appr.req.'s the linke was removed (table IMZO).
For a few of our req.'s the link is not removed so that we can't link the new progr.pos. to this appr.req.

How to budget the WBS through Investment management

Hi,
How to budget the WBS through Investment management. I tried IM52 but its not budgeting. Actually I have assigned the TOP WBS element to Appropriation request and assined the AR to Investment program, in that TOP WBS there are more than 20 low level WBS so I want to budget those WBS element which are under top WBS.

Assign IM Program type in your defaulted Budget profile and assign investment profile in project profile. make sure all settings are correct in Investment profile and budget profile. now assign budget to the IM Position ID to which Top level WBSE is assigned through AR. try to allocate budget from IM Position ID to Top Level WBSE. Once allocated check in CJ30 and you can further distribute the allocated budget from top level WBSE to lower level WBS Elements. You have to manually distribut budget from top level WBS Element to lower level wbs elements.

First of all thanks for your immediate reply, thing is that we dont assign any budget for this WBS, now we want to delete this WBS, what would be the procedure for deleting WBS after approved status of appropriate request.
How to reverse the budgeted amount from WBS to position id, plz let me know the process steps, as i am new to this IM.

Preinvestment analysis in Investment Mgt. appropriation request variant

Hi,
Can anybody provide some information on preinvestment analysis in SAP system?
This tab is available in Investment Management- appropriation request - Varinats - Preinvestment analysis - Caliculate preinvestment analysis figures.
I want the preinvestment analysis of an appropriation request shud be caliculated by SAP system itself. Wat r the configurations required to be done?

You have to do the customization in IMG > Investment management > Appropriation Request > Planning > Specify Yield Curve for Determining Net Present Value
Settings:
1. Enter a yield curve for the currency,
2. For each yield curve, enter any number of terms (The time period is not allowed to exceed 80 years).
3. For each term, enter interest rate.
After this Specify Value Date for Determining Net Present Value in the next step.
Be sure of the cash flow for the variant, for correct calculation of the IRR and net present value.
