Sounds like you can't update your device. You don't mention an error that it gives you. Take a look at both of these articles to troubleshoot.

If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself.

If you don't have it for reference, the manual might come in handy > US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup.pdf
After it loads, Command + F to find information regarding the drivers.

Compiles a procedure with syntax error

In the script tab, try to compile a procedure with syntax errors.
The message displays procedure compiled !!!
It should display that procedure compiled with errors.

IPMA Assistant Console: âSystem Error: Please contact Administratorâ

Version of CCM used 4.1(3)sr2
I have setup a 2:1 (manager (lukes & hans) : assistant(leiao)) IPMA shared line config for the first time (successfully setup 1:1 shared line configs before) and once the assistant loads IPMA Assistant Console (IPMA AC) on PC1, enters her IPMA AC credentials, click OK the assistant gets the following error message âSystem Error: Please contact Administratorâ. I can confirm that IPMA AC works on PC1 (XP Pro SP2 Windows FW disabled) as other 1:1 assistants can log into IPMA AC successfully. leiao also gets the same message when she logs into PC2 (XP Pro SP2 Windows FW disabled) and PC3 (XP Pro SP2 Windows FW disabled ) that have IPMA AC installed. From a telephony point of view all IPMA setups (1:1 & 2:1) work as expected its just IPMA AC doesn't work for 2:1 IPMA shared line setups.
I have deleted lukes, hans and leiao device user profile and user profile, restarted the Tomcat IPMA service and re-created the profiles and still the same problem. In desperation I have even rebooted the CCM Pub & Sub and still leiao gets the message above.

I have noticed looking at the IPMA Service trace logs on CCM that CCM recognises leiao user as a ProxyLineAssistant instead of a SharedLineAssistant like all other 1:1 assistants?? I setup the managers and assistants in the 2:1 config the same as 1:1 shared line config but CCM appears to think that leiao is a ProxyLineAssistant??
Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to solve this, any further info required please let me know :-)

delete the old assistant (DWAssist). Remove it from the manager's IPMA configuration and substitute it with a new assistant (DWAssist1). After reconfiguring IPMA accordingly, restart tomcat services

in our Development system, the auto config program for ICR "FBICRC_GENERATE_CUST" is not working due to syntax error. It works in testsystem and productive system but not in development.
Anyone experienced the same issue i.e. short dump when running FBICRC_GENERATE_CUST ?

actually the problem only occurs after we implemented OSS note 1172591 with the SAP delievered transport P3EK049760
So before having this transport: FBICRC_GENERATE_CUST works fine
AFTER the transport P3EK049760 contained in OSS note 1172591 -> syntax error.
The field "hide_dcurr" is missing in table FBICRC01000

Xinitrc comes up with syntax error

I was trying this setup for an xinitrc file:

Seems like it should work right? Well I guess Bash doesn't like the null case, and throws it out as a syntax error. Anyone know of a way around this?
The reason I wanted to do this is because sometimes I'll just want to add a WM to /etc/slim.conf just to test it out.

Each case is an expression matching a pattern. The commands in the COMMAND-LIST for the first match are executed. The "|" symbol is used for separating multiple patterns, and the ")" operator terminates a pattern list. Each case plus its according commands are called a clause. Each clause must be terminated with ";;". Each case statement is ended with the esac statement.

StartupItem with syntax error (sh script)

I'm comfy on the cli but still green with scripting it. I've followed the Apple tut on making a StartupItem, but I am getting simple (I hope) sh syntax errors when I run it. The three *Service functions are required, as they're called by the RunService function (from the sourced rc.common script) ... all per the Apple tutorial.
In any case, the error I get is:
line 7: syntax error near unexpected token `}'
/Library/StartupItems/blah/blah: line 7: `}'
The complaint is about the bracing earlier in execution than the 'tricky' stuff. I hope that suggests the problem is here and not in my Boot.bash script. I'll post that too if, as I'm noticing with scripting, the complaints about eofs and bracing and such are not where the real problem lies. I'm a bash person though so, especially if this is just an sh syntax misuse, feel free to give me what for.

   I've actually read a scripting guide that recommends defining functions with the "function" keyword and the norm is to put a space before and after the "()". However, your syntax is valid. In fact I see no errors at all; the script should work.
   Thus, the problem is most likely something invisible. It's time to investigate the text editor you used to create the script. You should open the script in a UNIX text editor, like vim, and look for hidden characters or Mac line endings. An even better solution might be to get the free text editor TextWrangler, (or BBEdit if you have it) open the file and set it to show invisible characters. It will also tell you what kind of line endings are used in the file. You might also post a long listing of the StartupItem script.

as Glenn Mentioned try putting a single quote around the Host alias that you are using
'alawdin3000.xxx.com'
If that doesn't work I would try using the host name or the IP name instead.
There is a section in the tech ref about using host names when doing transparent partioning, which to me implies (if they have a section devoted to it) that their may be issues around it.
Using Host Name Aliases When Partitioning
If you want to use network aliases for the data source or data target names, you must make sure that the aliases are propagated to all computers on your system. Otherwise, use the full server name.
To propagate an alias to all the computers on your system, edit the /etc/hosts file (on UNIX systems) or the %WINDIR%/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file (on Windows systems), adding an entry with the IP address, followed by the host name, followed by the alias.
For example, if you want to use an alias abcdefg.hijk.123 for a system with host name hostname.domainname having IP address 172.234.23.1, then the host file entry should be:
172.234.23.1 hostname. domainname abcdefg.hijk.123
In case of multiple aliases, append the aliases following the hostname. For example, if you want to use multiple aliases abcdefg.hijk.123 and lmnopqrs.tuvw.456 for a system with host name hostname.domainname having IP address 172.234.23.1, then the host file entries should be:
172.234.23.1 hostname. domainname abcdefg.hijk.123 lmnopqrs.tuvw.456

Notes
Do not use localhost as an alias to specify source and target server names.
The user should have root or admin privileges for the system to edit the hosts file.

Cant edit syntax error, please help!

Encoder 2014 crashing with OpenGL error - please advise

I did some research and split my 40-minute sequence (AVCHD 1080p 30fps) into chunks... did fine until the last one which was only 7:56 long - another successful export - Vimeo 1080p with MQR selected as suggested in the forum was longer. Up until this week's issues (updating to 2014.2 then rolling back to 2014.0), I had been exporting 2 hour sequences with no issues what so ever, in 2014.0.
Here is a screen capture of the error - this time, instead of white screen crashing, it did take me to Nvidia where the only partner/app selection is the one for the K6000 - 331.something.
I read on one forum that driver 334.95 is the one to use; I will try that next. I am using 341.21 - the latest WHQL available according to Nvidia.
So what driver should I be using? Are there particular settings I need to check in the Nvidia desktop app?
Here are screen shots of my specs according to the Nvidia desktop app:
I see "System Video Memory" shows 0mb - is that my problem? Can I somehow use the 2014 standalone version of Encoder? Are there other settings/preferences - like memory allocation that someone can help me with?
I will do a clean install of 334.95, clear my PPro preferences and clean my cache before attempting an export again..

Cannot change password on LPM page with syntax error / AD2008

Hi,
In the Lost password Management page, user are prompt to change the password by input the old and new password.
Identity/oblix/apps/lost_pwd_mgmt/bin/lost_pwd_mgmt.cgi?
After type in the new password and click save the following error shows:
"The Directory Server password syntax was violated. The password cannot be changed"
Using AD2008 with ADSI security mode. OAM 10.1.4.3.0 BP03 on all components. Any idea on the above error?

Hi,
The error message means that AD is not accepting the value for the new password. Usually that means that there is a password policy in AD itself (perhaps which requires 1 upper case letter, 2 non-alphanumeric characters etc) which is causing the value to be rejected. If that is the case, you could match OAM's password policy to be as close as possible to AD's (so that OAM can do the validation before sending it off to AD).
