Attach Digital certificate to outgoing mails

Hi all,
Is it possible to attach a digital certificate (custom) to specific outgoing mails in ABAP (or) SAP.
Thanks in advance.
Jay

Somewhere online I found mention that you can assign the cert you don't want to use as untrusted and the one you do want to use as trusted. So in Keychain, double click on your Thawte cert, click on the Trust arrow and change the "When using this certificate:" drop down to "Always Trust". Do the opposite for your other certs.
This way you can still use your other certs for decrypting if anyones uses it to send to you. But you'll always use the trusted cert for signing/encrypting new messages.
I too wish there was a way to explicitly select the cert you want to use but till they allow that, this is the best way I've found to work around the issue.

Edit > Attachments > Insert Attachments at End of Message. If a new message is the active window, the option applies only to that message. If you don't have a new message open, then the option becomes Always Insert Attachments at End of Message.

  • Importing a digital certificate from e-mail

When receiving a digital certificate (in an fdf file) attachment in an e-mail in Outlook I want to automate importing it to the Acrobat trusted cert store using VBA with Acrobat classes.
I use an Outlook rule and can get to saving the .fdf file with VBA. I have referenced the Acrobat type library in VBA. But I cant find an Acrobat import certificate function in the library.
I am using Acrobat V8 and Outlook 2007

I don't know if there is one,  but have you downloaded the Acrobat SDK? You cannot program Acrobat by "discovery" of classes and methods, you do need the documentation. You might have to use the VB:JavaScript linkage.

  • How to remove a photo (of me) from outgoing mail??

I guess when I first set up this Mac, I was enamoured of the little camera on the top of the screen and took a (really bad) pic of me and it is now attached to all my outgoing mail. I suppose I chose to do that - but now I WANT IT OFF. First, it's really bad. Second, I don't have that (really bad) haircut anymore. Third, what was I thinking???
Anyone know how to remove it?
    thanks -

As Julian said, the picture is not actually attached to the outgoing message.
If someone using a .Mac mail account sets up his or her account to share pictures, when you view a message from that person in Mail you'll see the shared picture. The picture *_is not sent in the message itself_*; instead, when you view the message, Mail looks for the picture on the .Mac server. You can only view shared pictures from a .Mac account using Mail and webmail.mac.com.

  • Cant choose which digital certificate to sign outgoing email in Mail.app

I am posting this here as this post:

    was archived.
I just wanted to add that this is still an issue for us. We use three digital certificates inside our organization, one from Thawte, one from caCert, and one from our in-house/private CA. All three work perfectly inside all applications that we use them in. There is on issue which is that if the user clicks the icon on the far right side of their outgoing email to "sign" that email, there is no telling which certificate it will use. We want to use the one from Thawte for all outgoing email but it ends up picking one of the other ones instead & as far as I can tell there is no way to control this or change this.
What I am requesting is that Mail.app ask me which certificate I want to use, either once, in preferences, or each email, or something, as sendind with the wrong one is really not workable.
I think 10.5.2 is a real step forward. Thanks for all the hardwork to make the improvements in it that we see.
    Thanks so much.

  • How to get digital certificate informaiton of the email in mail adapter

    Hi, expert:
I have a requirement to verify the validation of coming email with digital certification. The mail is with digital certification. If the coming email is valid, I 'll get the attachemt of the mail for further processing. I have a sender mail adapter and receiver file adapter configued.
I have already my own developed adapter module, which is configued in mail adapter. My question is how to retrieve the detailed certificate information in the adapter module developed by myself. Is it feasible?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Mail not recognizing digital certificate

    Hi all,
I had a digital certificate generated by .Mac which worked fine in mail.
Today I noticed that mail stopped giving me the option to digitally singed my mails.
Did someone notice this behavior? Is there a fix?
    Thanks,

    Anna,
I am having the same issue. I am on a new laptop without my cert, so I downloaded it again from thawte but it only installs the public key, not the private key.

  • How can I attach a pdf file to outgoing mail without it opening up within the message?

How can I attach a pdf file to outgoing mail without in opening up within the message?

You can use the Share button on Preview's toolbar. Choosing Email pops open Mail with the PDF already iconified as an attachment. If it doesn't behave this nicely for you, select the PDF in Mail and choose the right contextual menu, where you will find View as Icon. I also have Send Windows-Friendly attachments enabled.

  • I attached an AVI to a outgoing mail...oops

I attached an AVI file to an outgoing mail message and now it is stuck in my outbox and my mail app. is frozen. When the program opens it gets stuck and then closes itself...
    Any Ideas?

Yes, you can delete it from your mail folder. Quit Mail completely, and, in Finder, go into ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Outbox.mbox/Messages, and delete any .emlx files you find there. This will clear out your Outbox, and you should be able to launch Mail now.
(Note: ~ means "your home folder")

  • My MacBook pro has stopped connecting to the outgoing mail server smpt (Tiscali) server, still receives mail fine, and connects to the web. Any suggestions welcome.

My MacbookPro has always worked fine, receiving and sending emails through my server,Tiscali.  I took it to France for a few days, and was able to receive emails and use the web (through the wireless router and server in our accomodation), although as usual when away from home, I couldn't send emails. I tried to set up a new outgoing email route using O2 (as suggested by a web article), but it didn't work, so I deleted it, and used Tiscali webmail to send emails.
When I returned home, I selected my usual outgoing server (Tiscali), but found to my great surprise, that I could no longer send emails - Mail timed out, 'unable to connect'. I noticed when clicking on: Mail - Preferences, that in the outgoing mail smpt box, Tiscali appeared, as usual, but now was followed by (Offline)
Receiving emails and web connections have remained fine.
I've checked with Tiscali, and they can't find any problem with their server or my settings.  Grateful for any suggestions about possible causes for this problem, and how to fix it.
    Joe

I have just tried attaching the ethernet cable to the MacBook to see what happens. The system is fine, but when starting Mail, it never opens and locks up. You eventually just have to force quit out of the program.

  • Since 10.5.6 outgoing mail slow ??

Since moving to 10.5.6 my outgoing mail is slower.
Previously if I sent just a simple email with just a few lines of text it would go instantly.
Now the same type of message seems to take anywhere up to 20 secs to go and during that time I get the spinning graphic next to the out folder or sent folder.
Not the spinning beach ball of death, just the normal spinning graphic which I expect to get when sending an email with a large attachment or lots of graphics.
Has anyone else noticed this ?

I am quite certain that I had the sound effects check box in system preferences activated prior to the 10.5.6 upgrade as I had the empty trash sounds activated. After the upgrade, something during the install process unselected this check box in system preferences because I noticed I had lost the internal Mail sounds as well as the sound for emptying the trash. When I checked preferences in Mail the check box for "play sounds in mail" was still checked but there were no more sounds. It seems odd to me that you now have to go to two different places to turn on the sound feature in Mail whereas before it was only one checkbox. How is it fixing a bug by requiring two steps instead of one? Minor point, but it is rather confusing and convoluted.

  • Is there any way to automatically add an attachment to a message in Mail?

    Hi,
I have to responsd to a lot of emails with basically the same response. I use a TextExpander snippet for the body of these messages. However, I usually need to attach a PDF file as well.
Is there anyway to automate attaching a PDF attachement to a message in Mail?
Perhaps, this can be done by adding the attachment into a Signature, although I havent seen a way to do this.
Or perhaps, some kind of Automator scritpt?
The mail account is actually a Google Apps account, so perhaps there is a way to have the GMail server do something to the message on the way out?
    Thanks

it's fairly easy to create an outgoing message with attachments in applescript; just use a script like the following:
    tell application "Mail"
              set newMess to make new outgoing message with properties {visible:true, subject:"test emal"}
              tell newMess
      make new attachment at end of attachments with properties {file name:"/path/to/attachment"}
              end tell
    end tell
it's extremely difficult to add an attachment to an outgoing email that's already been created, however (there's no easy way in applescript to get a reference to an open outgoing message window if the script did not make the window itself).  I'm not sure which you had in mind.

  • I can no longer attach files to my outgoing Hotmail emails.  I only receive a message that an  error has occurred. Help appreciated.

I can no longer attach files to my outgoing Hotmail emails.  I only receive a message where I would expect the Upload to appear that an  error has occurred.
I am using a MacBook Pro with Retina, 2 Ghz Intel Core i7, OS X 10.9.4
I have no difficulty attaching files to the outgoing Hotmails on the same account using my iPhone.
    Help appreciated.

Thanks for this - not an immediate solution I fear but will keep unplugging stuff and restarting stuff.
To try and be clearer about the problem - I have in the last managed to send attachments successfully.  Now  I can send and receive plain email messages but get the error message when I try to attach an existing file to an email - not just a particular file but it would appear all files are being treated in the same way.
An experiment to send a mail to which an attachment has failed to upload got the following message alongside the SEND button
Files with errors will be removed from the email and not sent.
    - but the mail alone was sent and received successfully.  Thanks for any pointers you can give me.

  • Using a digital certificate to send an encrypted email.

I want to send an e-mail through my i-pad using a digital certificate, that i have already configurated in my e-mail account. This e-mail i want to send also encrypted. Do i need to have a public certificate code from the person i´m sending the e-mail to? Like outlook express works?
thanks for the answer in advance

    Hello,
Your best option will be to use an encoder for feedback in your system. If you use an encoder then at the end of the move, the controller will compare your trajectory position with the position the encoder reads (the actual position) and make the necessary adjustments. Also, this is all handled transparently so you won't have to worry about any complicated programming issues.
