Attaching drawings in project system

H friends,
I would like to know the steps involved in project system to attach a drawing with activity.
The drawing size would be around 2 MB and any user who checks that activity against any WBS should be able to open and review the drawing.
Regards
Srini

Hi Srini,
In PS, you can create assignments to documents in the Document Management System, or you can create new documents. In the Project Builder, you can assign documents either in the document overview or by dragging and dropping from the template area.
As of Release 4.6C, you can assign documents to your project on the Internet (service CNW4).
If you use this functionality, the following activities are performed in a single step:
1.A document master record is created
2.This master record is linked to the object in question (WBS element, network activity)
3.The document is checked in to the Knowledge Provider (KPRO)

  • Classification with project systems

Dear Experts: We are evaluating a possibility of using classification system with projects in project systems. At this point our understanding is we need to do some configuration and custom development to achieve the same. If anyone has some prior experience or knowledge in this area please advice.
    Appreciate your help in advance.
    Thanks & Regards

Some places where integration could be useful
    Projects Area
    1) Attaching in Statement of Work for the project , by creating a seperate document type
    2) Project planning ducuments could be attached.
    3) Risk management plans could be linked using dir
    Engineering Area
    1) Engineering Drawings for redlining and manufacturing
    Production
1)Work instructions for the production as to how products would be manufactured
    Quality
    Safety related documentsand origina certificates
    Purchasing
Procurement related specifications in terms of drawings , shipping instructions
    Sales
    1) Inquiry
    2) quotation
    3) Contract

  • Sales order in Project system

    Hi All,
Can u tell me please how can we create  a sales order,Quotation in projects and what are tcodes for that.
As i am here involved in Capital projects i dont have any idea of customer projects ican u pleease let me know the customizing part too.
    Assured of rewarsd points
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Abraham.S

    Hi,
to create quote from project system there is quite a bit of PS ( project system ) SD integration is required. i will try my best to deliver with whatever time i have right now.
    1. t-code -CKCM - your will define easy cost planning here whihc will be your pricing factor in in sales order.
    2. ODP1- you define DIP profile here you will also define your costing elements here. this DIP profile is attached to sales doc type. and on main menu you will find button that says quotation. click on that. this willd irectly take you to quote and from there u can take it forward.
I hope it helps u little. Though i know its not enough.

  • Revenue Recognition in Project System

    Hello All,
At my current client, they are using the Project System (i.e. WBS) only for Cost and Revenue collection. POC,RA,Milestone billing,Network, Activities are out of scope. Keeping the above thing in mind, I need to know how I do the Revenue recognition thru WBS.
Mu understanding is that If I assign a WBS element on a Sales Order line item, as an account assignment it should collect the Revenue. The only requiremnt should be that WBS should be a billing element and Cost/Revenue profile should carry SD relevant settings. Once the billing is done and invoicing is done, the Revenue should appear against the WBS on running the report S_ALR_87013563/64/65/66.
Please let me know if this will work or do I need to do some more configuration from PS perspective.
    Thanks
    Sarang

    Hi Sarang,
    1. Mark WBS as billing element.
    2. Assign the sales order line item to the WBS in point 1 or any WBS below that in the hierarchy.
    3. Create a billing plan for the sales order line item.
    4. The billing plan amount would appear as planned revenue against the WBS element (provided no credit hold useVKM3 to release).
    5. Once the line item has been billed ie. Billing document has been created using VF01 or VF04, the Actual revenue would appear against the WBS element.
    In terms of Config:
Creat a planning profile that allows Automatic Revenue planning form Sales Order (tcode: OPSB)
Ensure that the planning profile is attached to your project profile (Controlling tab) (tcode:OPSA).
Please let me know if this helps.

  • Release strategy & EBAN for project systems, purchasing

    Hi
We have 2 different scenarios for which we use same account assignment category "Z".
    1) Purchase Requisitions for capital expenses (Account assignment category "Z") - this is part of project systems requisition attached to WBS elements
    2) Purchase Requisitions for expensed items (Account assignment category "Z")
I have configured release strategy with classification with following characteristics
    1) plant
    2) cost centers
    3) total amount in PR
    4) account assignment category
all 4 characteristics are same in both areas (capital and expensed)of purchase requisitions, account assignment category Z decides whether it is capital purchase or expense related purchases. Z uses order number that is internally tied to WBS element.
my question is - if some one has similar scenario then what is the best solution to handle invocation of release strategy.
how release strategy can be determine, do I need to use user exit and if yes what best user exit is available.
EBAN fields, I have researched and I cant use fields like "requisitioner" for determining release strategy.
I would like to invoke different release strategy for capital projects and different release strategy for expensed items in PR. there is a workflow attached to this later.
    Please reply
    Thanks and regards
    Umesh

    Umesh,
Well, there needs to be some way to differentiate the 2 types of purchase requisitions for you to use 2 different release strategies.
I am not sure if you have the option of using a different document type to differentiate the 2 requisitions. I would definitely look at this possibility and include the document type (CEBAN-BSART) as a characteristic in the release strategy.
Other options would be to look at using the purchasing group (CEBAN-EKGRP) or the requirements tracking number (CEBAN-BEDNR) as characteristics in your release strategy.
    Hope this helps.

material of BOM is assigned to any activity in project so these material (RM) will be procured and consumed
assign activity for all work done on material to produce FG or SFG.
confirm activity whenever any work done like fabrication done so confirm and its cost comes to WBS.
than we have to subcontracting process so dispach SFG from this and receive after activity done by third party.
than more work is done and confirm these activity. than after all work done we get FG in stock. than delivery from project.
We are facing issue in above business process of our client as below:
    1. process of subcontracting using project system as we are not using production planning. how we get any SFG for subcontracting process.
    2. if we confirm all activities and consume all Raw Materials than how we will get finished good in our project stock for delivery.
    3. after delivery from project how sales order affects with regards to completeness of this sales document.
    Please help for this.

    Hi Sunil,
Assume this is my project structure & attached components. I will procure this components externally. After GRN, This components will be issued to network with 581 Q movement type.
Now we need to assemble this raw material to produce our FG, As these SFG are in our project stock. What we need to do for assembly process through PS.
Also throw some light over benefit of using PS-BOM interface ( CN33 ) for attaching material components.

  • Sales Order Vs Project Systems(CNS0--Vl02n--VF01) Value&Status(Partial Disp

    Dear All,
I need your suggestion in the following scenario:
This is the Partial Dispatch scenario.
    Here in the Sales Order, we are attaching the FERT; Here we will give the total price of the FERT in Conditions level;
In the Project Systems level, we are attaching HALB items of FERT.
    Now the flow will be We will deliver each HALB from PS through CNS0; Then by going to VL02N and do PGI; By reffering to these Deliveries,Billing(VF01) will be done for each HALB; In Billing(VF01), Pricing will be given for each HALB (since for each HALB bill will be raised seperately);
    The issue here is that I need to know whether I can have a check so that Cumulatively the Billing Value of all the HALBs is in Correlation with the FERT value in the Sales Order;
Here I am creating the Bill with reference to Delivery(CNS0-Vl02n) and not with ref. to Sales Order.
(ii) Also there is one more issue in the same scenario.
Here the Sales Order status will be In Process . By reffering to the Sales Order I am just raising the Proforma Invoices for Down Payment, against Design/Engineering.
I need to know how I can make Sales Order staus  as Complete.
I need your suggestion to solve these issues in a better way.

    Bom dia Marc de Ruijter,
Não dá para ler sua thread, mas imagino que seu validador esteja desligado.
No GRC vá em SPRO --> SAP GRC Nota Fiscal Electronica --> Configure System Response for Each Tax Number (CNPJ)

  • Plan hours in Project System

    Hi SAP Gurus,
In project system as i can plan my cost, can i plan my hours?? If yes how?? where in SAP?
I am in service industry and my billing happen on hours..
    Please help, its urgent
    Pritam

    Hello Smile,
Yes, You can plan your man hours in project many ways
    1. Plan manhours in network activities using work centers
    2. Plan manhours in network activities using workforce planning ( integration with HR Module)
    3. In some companies, many departments work on a project and they plan manhours on cost centers and not on Project. In other words, many department provide services to projects.
Here I will assume that you want to plan manhours in Project without workforce planning.
The following are the pre requisite for planning man hours in project network activities.
    1. Work center ( may be person or group of persons, machine or group of machines. Workcenter reflects skills and capacities in cost center)
    2. Work or duration ( based on the calculation key either one is calculated)
    3. Activity type ( Type of service)
Behind the screen,You have to have a cost center attached to the workcenter (CNR1/CNR2) and activity type. Combination of cost center and activity type will decide the rates. Use transaction KP26 to enter the rates.Activity prices are valid for a certain period of time only. They are entered for either months or a year.
The budget for the cost center should be used as a base to calculate the hourly rate for each activity type.
When you enter a work in the network activity, system calculates the costs for the manhours.
Eg: You create engineer as workcenter. He is asked to go to site and did installation of equipments.
Attach workcenter ABCD to network activity, activity type "Engineer" and work 100 hrs.
If the engineer rate is $50 per hour given in KP26.
    Then the planned cost for manhours is 100 X $50 = $500
The same engineer can provide supervison service at your workshop. For that, his rate may be $20/hour. If you plan for supervison then the planned costs will be $200

  • Explicitly attaching the CMOD project to a my TRansport??

    Hi Experts,
    I created a CMOD project.
bcoz of some reason, its NOT attached to any transport........so, I need to attach EXPLICITLY this Project to a existing transport.
Actually, I tried, by going to CMOD to this project.......went to CHNAGE mode.......chnaged the simply description of the project...........by expecting that, system will ask me a transport, so that, that point I can assign a trabnsport..........but, system said that, its ALREADY ACTIVATED and did NOT asked me any transport!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, let me know that, How to attach it EXPLICITLY?
    replies appreciated.
    thanq

    Hello,
You might try deactivating the project before making any changes.  I tried this in our system and was prompted for a change request right away.  Then make your changes and reactivate.  Everything should then be recorded on a request.
If you are not prompted for a request when you deactivate the project it may be possible that the project is already attached to an existing request.

  • How to create the Custom project System as Web Project

    Hi,
I have created a custom project system using this walkthrough. But
this walk through is targeting Visual C# project system. I need to create the Custom project system as Web project and set the start up page as index.html file. How can I achieve this?
    Note:
I have got the Custom project system sample from VS2013 SDK samples(https://mpfproj12.codeplex.com/).
But it demonstrate the Custom console applications only.
    - Abbas K

    Hi,
So you didn't even follow this walkthrough yet? If you did, how did you do it?
I failed to create such a web project system because I finally messed up my VS experimental instance. But it's possible to create a custom web project system, by following this walkthrough. Someone else has successfully made it, check this
    link.
The difference is that you have to use web project type instead of the console application project type. You could copy a web project's .csproj file into the VSPackage project and rename it to xxx.myproj. There's an error in the walkthrough that the AssemblyInfo.cs
file should be put into Properties folder and set the "Build Action" property to Content, "Include in VSIX" to true.

  • About reversal of Outbound delivery generated from Project system due to sale return

    Hi SAP Expert ,
We have made delivery from project system using t.code CNS0 and billing document is generated with reference of sales order. Now Goods is return by customer due to some technical reason, We created return sales order with reference of billing document  and Credit memo with reference of Return sales order.
What is T.code for making return delivery or reversal of  Delivery /PGI generated from Project system in sap r/3 ?
    Pls. suggest to me.
    regards
    VKM

    Hello,
it depends whether in the billing document the material codes identifies the goods delivered and to be returned or not.
If it's so, you can create a Return Sales Order with reference to the billing document, create the return delivery, and then the credit memo.
If it's non so, you can create a Return Sales Order with reference to the billing document (but without copying the material items, and entering manually material code and quantity to be returned), then create the return delivery. Then you can create a Credit memo request with reference to the Billing Document or with reference to the Return Sales Order.
To create the return delivery, you can run VL01N with reference to the Return Sales Order (just like for outboud deliveries), or from VA02, following the menu path "Sales document --> Deliver".
    Best regards,
    Andrea

  • WBS Elements not getting created in ECC Project System from CRM 7.0

    Dear all,
We are trying to integrate SAP CRM 7.0 with SAP ECC-PS module. The objective is to bring in the marketing plan and elements data from the CRM system, and to create the corresponding WBS in project system. We have done most of the configuration as recommended by SAP in both the systems, and we see that the BDOCS are getting generated and sent to the ECC system. The following steps have been successfully completed:
    1.       Set up the RFC connections between the two systems
    2.       Selected the connection type as Middleware in CRM system.
    3.       Installed the cProject Add on in CRM box.
    4.       Created a project scenario (with project and network profiles) in the PS system and assigned the same in the CRM system.
    5.       The Project Scenario in PS config has the same name as the Project Type in CRM config.
    6.       Created and released the campaign ids being created in the CRM system.
As already mentioned, we can see that the BDOCS are coming to the ECC system and are getting stored in BDOC_TRACK table. However the issue is that the corresponding WBS elements are not getting generated in the ECC system. Is there anything that that we are missing in the ECC box which would trigger the WBS element creation?
Request you all to share your inputs which would be immensely beneficial for us in achieving this integration.
    Thanks and Kind Regards,
    Aditya Shrivastava

    Hello Aditya,
We too are facing this issue.. if you have resolved the issue could you please let us know the solution ?
Some inputs related to our system,
We have upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0 SP07 and R/3 backend system is on 4.7 SP27, earlier we have completed the upgrade on sandbox without any issues which was upgrade to CRM 7.0 SP04 but with SP07 we are facing the problem of WBS Element not getting created in R/3.
    Your help is highly appreciated.

  • Sub-contracting through Project system.

    Hi
Can some one please help me in understanding how Project system (PS) is supporting sub-contracting scenarios.
I am looking for activity sub-contracting and also sub-contracting with Project stock materials.
I am aware of normal sub-contracting through production order and also sub-contracting through MM. I am specifically looking for sub-contracting in PS.
    Thanks and warm regards,
    Jagadeesh

    Hi,
If requirements for subcontract items (or services) are generated automatically from PS just make sure that the right document category is used (subcontract) then any requisitions or planned orders etc. will have the right category.
There is no difference between PP, PS and PM effectively, they all use subcontracting in the same way it is just how the requirement is triggered that is slightly different.
If you need details on how to trigger the right type of requirement through PS then you may need to use one of teh financial forums that cover PS? (is there one?)
