Attachment and Comments in Workflow

Hello,
Initiator initiate a workflow (e.g SIT), attached a file, write comments and send for approval. 1st Approver approved and write his comments and send for furhter approval. Assume all approver write some comments and is finally approved.
Now
1. From where initiator can view all approver comments ?
2. where is the attachment gone ? From where initiator can view his own attachment ?

  • Attachment and workflow overview - GOS

    Hello All,
I have a  new custom BO. No delegation to another  object.
And new applications using  this BO.
I want to include the  "Generic Object Services" -> Workflow  Overview & attachment
and display this on  the transaction just like VA0x to display the  WF.
    I need a  starting point!
I have document Generic Object  Services  (BC-SRV-GBT).
Not sure how to add this functionality.
    Please help asap.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sangeeta

    Hello Sangeeta,
I am too facing the same kind of issue.
I developed a workflow and linked the BO ZBUS2081. This is sub type of standard BO BUS2081. I am using the custom event INVOICEBLOCKED to trigger the workflow. The workflow is triggered propely when the invoce is created (with block) thru MIRO and I can see the workflow in SWEL or SWI6 or SWI14.
But, the workflow is not listed in the services for objects button of the invoice display using MIR4.
If I use the standard event 'BLOCKEDQUANT' as starting event, the workflow is triggered and I can view it in services for object.
In the table SWW_WI2OBJ has all entries about the workflow triggered using standard event or custom event.
How can I make the services for object in invoice list my workflow that was triggered using custom evet?
I tried this solution but, still not working.
Can you please tell me what needs to be done to make this working?
    Regards

  • Mixed comments in workflow attachments...

    Hello all,
One of our customers has a strange problem when trying to display an attachment (SOFM-DISPLAY) in workflow.
After importing a support pack last weekend the workflow always shows the last comment added by someone in the system. So let's say for example that John added a comment in a workflow. And 5 seconds later Marie wants to read the comment of a whole different workflow, she sees John's comments!
I have looked in the Forum and OSS notes, but couldnt find any lead at all. I dont know which support packs were uploaded axactly (sorry for the limited info) but Im just posting this question to see if someone has encountered a similar problem like this before. Maybe somekind of memory problem?
    Thanks & regards,
    Erik

    Hi,
Its a bit strange to hear this !!. However are you really sure these two are totally different workflows.
Can you please check the AttachObjects container element in workflow log and find out the SOFM key in runtime in both workflows that you are talking. Is it the same?

  • BPM Process Spaces: Attachments and Comments issue

    Hi,
I've integrated BPM Process Spaces with WebCenter Spaces. When I'm trying to initiate a Process and send comments and attachment, the values for them is not passed from step to another. For example, if user A initiate a task with comments and attachments and send it to user B; user B can't see the comments and attachments from user A.
I searched the internet and I found conflict answers, some answers are saying that comments and attachments are not supported and others are saying it's working.
Can please someone give me a definitive answer and the configuration required if any?
Also can someone give me a definitive answer about how to configure BPM to store attachment in UCM?
This is urgent as I'm preparing a customer POC next week.
    Thanks
    Regards

after some investigations I found the following:
    - Users can attach documents and provide comments on task level from the task details page. The attachments and comments will only be available for this specific task but not on the process level.
    - Users can attach documents and provide comments on Process level from the Process Tracking page-> Audit Trail part. The attachments and comments will available for all the tasks in the process
    - in BPM 11.1.1.5 Features Pack. Integration with UCM has been developed and also comments and attachments can be defined as Task level or Process level when ever the user want to provide one.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • BPM attachments and comments where do save?

    Hi there,
I develop a process with oracle bpm. this process have some activities that send attachments and comments together. my question is that where do save this attachments and comments? in database or file system? which table or which directory? i use default attachments and comments in HumanTasks.I hve to understand this files where do save, because i have to save this in my DB and use this in other processes.
    can anybody help me?

    Milad,
This really depends, both approaches file/database works. If it was me then I would use the file system. Make sure this file system is mounted for clustering. This can be any directory you want.
The database is another option, but has more maintenance overhead. In my experience especially as you use attachment using file base performs better (as long if your hard disc is of reasonable standard)
    Thanks

  • Reader Extensions & offline collaboration, annotations and commenting??

I recently finished creating a first aid report in LiveCycle Designer.
The form includes a diagram of the human body (front and back), and we ask users to circle the body part affected or injured. This assumes that users will have access to annotations and commenting. However, I have discovered that, when opening this in Acrobat and exporting/saving the file as a Reader-enabled PDF (supposedly enabling Reader Extensions, in other words), this does not appear to have any effect: the annotation and commenting tools are not accessible in Reader.
It does appear, however, that users may still submit the form via email.
I do not fully understand usage rights and perhaps I'm also not fully understanding the [rather obfuscatory] Adobe documentation. Can these usage rights be enabled through Reader Extensions alone, or does our organization need to have some kind of special collaborative "magic" on the server in order to achieve this?
Can someone provide me with a detailed step-by-step that explains how this might be achieved?
Again, forgive my ignorance. [Offline] collaboration is not something I'm familiar with, being very new to the world of forms design in LiveCycle Designer. (We are using ES2, if that makes any difference...)
    Thank you.

    Hello, George.
The form in question does collect the following information:
    - witnesses' names (first and last) with the ability to add/remove rows
    - button to allow the user to attach witness statements and other supporting documents (e.g., photo of location, hazards, wounds/injuries)
There are also autoexpanding textfields that ask for the user to describe the location, incident, injuries sustained, hazards/environmental conditions that caused the incident/injury, preventive/corrective actions to be taken, etc.
All of our forms include a "Submit by Email" button and this has not presented any problems, regardless of platform; the only challenge thus far is that those using Reader won't be able to attach anything using the button in the form itself; they must use Acrobat instead. The workaround for that is to attach a message to the button using the Action Builder that lets users know this and that, if uing Reader, they will need to save a local copy of the form and ensure that they attach all pertinent supporting documents to their outgoing email message.
We'd like our forms to remain flowed, if possible. WIth this one, it's the piece asking the user to circle the affected/injured body part(s) that is at the root problem, it seems.
George, could you tell me more about distribution and what this entails? We are a large organization (3000+). I'm not certain of the particulars of our particular license agreement; I'd have to look into that further.
Where else might we potentially run into difficulty?
Thanks again for your help and information.

  • IPhoto "titles" and "comments"

    Hey,
I am making a slideshow in iDVD with a lot of pictures that im importing from iPhoto. My problem is that the names of the pictures (when I show "titles and comments") are too large and cover important parts of the image. I also noticed that the "comments" was smaller than the "titles". So is there a way for Automater to replace all the "comment" sections with what is in the "title" section for all my pictures in iPhoto? I have never used Automater so any help would be great.

Create a workflow with a "Run AppleScript" action and replace the (* Your script goes here *) with the following AppleScript. The easiest way to do that is to click on the link, which will open AppleScript Script Editor, and then copy and paste it into the "Run AppleScript" action.
For this action to work properly you must make sure that before you run the Automator action only the album of interest is selected and not a photo in that album.
click here to open this script in your editor<pre style="font-family: 'Monaco', 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; overflow:auto; color: #222; background: #DDD; padding: 0.2em; font-size: 10px; width:400px">tell application "iPhoto"

  • Ask for helps and comments for a practicing ADF sample: Entering bank transaction records

    Dear experts:
I'm redeveloping a practicing ADF sample application based on an exist application system of  my company.
Here is the goal for this redeveloping:
What degree of productivity can adf achieve compare to eclipse?
And hereby is a small example I began from last Monday. some progress has been achieved, but pretty lot of difficulties remained,
so I post all neccessary informations to this forum, and ask for your kind helps and comments.
    Thank you all in advance!
    Introduction
The X company has some bank accounts in different banks, also it’s customers may have more than one bank account in different banks. Transactions between the X company’s bank accounts and it’s new or regular customers’ bank accounts happened heavily in daily. Bank transfer records in paper form will be collected and need to be entered into an in-house Financial System(NX1)  of the X company every day.
This module will implement the function of Entering Bank transactions records for NX1.
In future, this Data Entering work for NX1 will be handled by some data exchange interface automatically.
And the following implementation will be based on ORACLE XE 11g,  Jdev/ADF 12c.
This link can download  the document for the example, I will upload Database scripts and JDEV application files tonight.

    Hi, Timo and Frank,
Thank you all for your kind replies and sound suggestions!
Now let me talk freely on this thread-and I will limit my topic scope within this Jdev/ADF Space’s theme but maybe in a more broad perspectives. And I will separate topics into different posts to avoid over length of each post. Hope you will have enough patience to read through this some long story!

    What you are up to?
First of all, I need to make some introduction of myself to answer “what you are up to”.
I come from China, living and working at Shenzhen city which is close to Hong Kong. And now I am running a small software company with 20 employees, our main business is to develop database centered applications which include in-house workflow/information management systems and websites/portals for organizations.
I have a pretty strong conviction that software technology should emancipate people from routine trivial mental works, just like engines in the industry revolution free people from heavily physical works. So I have a strong inclination for everything to be “automated”.
For running a company, this “automation” will not only bring the “aesthetics of everything running by itself”, but also will mean more productivity, quality and profits.—After all, no-living stuff is always cheaper than living creatures, let alone to say human beings.
However, when we software industry tried to automate business fields for our clients, the process of making software itself was still a manpower intensive, less-automation business. and this result a expensive products.
More than 15 years ago, when I began to work in an IT department of a big organization, I got to know the Oracle Designer/Developer 2000, and have being a diligent FORM/REPORT programmer for more than 4 years. I like the concept and practice of declarative design and automated generation.
And then more years past, and I left that organization and began to run a software company myself. And during these days, the mainstream technology of software development had been web oriented, Java/J2EE which I had no idea totally. But we have other guys who had expertise on it. So I just leave these works and decisions to them. And it seemed works at the beginning.
But after several years of business operation of application development for clients, I found this was a difficult-money-earn business. Even if our guys had worked hard, project schedules’ delay, over budget, clients’ complain was easily happened. Sometime we had more projects/contracts than what we can undertake, but we dare not to hire more people. I was confused:
-Was it a common situation in this field all over the world?
-What’s the key factor should responsible for?
-Where to start to improve the situation?
I know there are many factors should responsible, it’s a complex situation. Find more talented people and give better incentives for them to work hard is one choice—but it’s also a difficult task especially for a small company like ours. So to start from easy and confine solution’s scope is:
-We have these guys now, what we can do best?
    (To be continued)

  • Titles and Comments

Can Titles and Comments go with the photo from iPhoto when the photo is moved to another Library, put on a CD or DVD, emailed or used in Pages?

    Johin:
To add to Smtr's answer, all metadata added to a photo in iPhoto stays in iPhoto (sort of like Las Vegas). Using iPLM you can transfer that data between libraries. But for any use outside of iPhoto the metadata won't be available.
There's one way to write comments and keywords to the original files on a one time (or 30 day) basis. That's by using Cocktail (not called Expressions Media) to catalog and then write that data back to the files. Check out Tutorial #1 on how to do it.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Keywords and comments from Canon Zoom Browser EX

My digital camera is a Canon Power Shot S2 IS. Before buying PS Elements 6, I organized photos using the Canon-supplied software, Zoom Browser EX. Many of the photos have keywords and comments using the Zoom Browser formats.
Is it possible to get these keywords and comments attached to the photos once they are in PS Elements 6? Have any of you folks successfully done this? I've looked in the usual help locations, but so far I have not been able to do this. PhotoShop Elements does not seem to know how to look into the Zoombrowser metadata or thumbnail files that go with the Jpeg picture files in each folder.
    I use Windows XP.

    Dennis,
A quick Web search finds other people asking the same question. The various postings suggest that the Canon Zoombrowser probably stores keywords and captions in a properietary format, rather than in the industry standard metadata sections of the photos themselves (the "EXIF" data) that most other programs, including PSE 6, use. So you may be out of luck.
For example, see this Lightroom thread on the same topic:

  • Early and late binding workflows in ICC based color management

    Hi all!
I'm a graphic design student at Reading Uni in the UK, and I'm writing my BA dissertation on early and late binding workflows in ICC based color management for print production. I'm intending to write to a graphic designer audience from a designer's point of view. Please do comment here if you have anything to say on this topic, or you can point me to the right direction. I'm also looking for studios where I could conduct my case studies who employ early, medium or late binding workflows.
    Thank you.

Will your paper have a title like  "Color Management is Fun and Easy" or "The Fiasco of Color Management"?
Notice that in the past week you and I are the only posts on this forum! This is the Color Management forum on Adobe's website. Shouldn't it be really busy?
It appears, that even after nearly ten years  I can't remember when color management first began to appear in prepress software), the industry has not embraced color management.
The promise of color management since I can remember was  that we could make color documents and not need to know how they would be printed. In other words a late binding workflow; that latest possible, just before making the plates or screens or engravings, etc. After forty hours of reading on the net and testing I am almost positive this is impossible if Illustrator is in the workflow.
Illustrator documents must be either RGB or CMYK not both. So if there are any colors that need to be preserved as CMYK (like 100 K black) you must work in CMYK meaning a mid binding color management workflow. The only thing I can think of is to find, or make, the widest gamut CMYK profile so that the fewest colors are hacked off.
But really how can this all be so messed up? What good reason could Adobe have for doing this? (I can think of several but they all contridict themselves.)
I preped some files the other day that were going to a printer I wasn't familiar with; one of the premium houses here in my area. I called them and asked how they wanted the files sent to them. I was hoping they had profiles for me or would spec some kind of PDF/x document that they would handle. No they wanted the source files and when I asked do you want the images in RGB then said, "No." So I asked which profile did they want me to use to convert to CMYK and the answer was, "What do you mean?" I said which CMYK do you want? The answer was, "The one everybody uses." I used SWOP and sighed.
IF I'M WRONG I would love to hear about it.
    Good luck

  • Keywords, Titles, and Comments don't travel - Sharing Pics with my PC

What gives with iPhoto. Love it. Problem though. All the work I've put into adding key words, titles, and comments are only good in iPhoto.
Why is this? Wouldn't those things be considered metadata and be stored in the file and then travel with that file?
So... here's the kicker. If iPhoto doesn't do this - I probably need to switch programs. My house and family and work are all PC environments. We all swap photos pretty regularly.
I look like I suck if my photos are all titled DSC-09874. This especially ***** if I know I've spent hours upon hours applying tagging pics with keywords and comments - only to find out I'm the only person to ever see them.
I need some direction here from some iphoto gurus. What should I do?

There is a program that will do it but it's a bit expensive for just that feature, iView MediaPro. However, you can use it is its 21 day demo mode do write the keywords and comments of the photos you have today back to the original files (not the modified but the original). Tutorial #1 describes how to do that.
I suggest you post that as a feature request at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. The more requests for that the better.
