Attempt at web store purchase has left me more than angry

Yesterday I tried to purchase a Dv7tqe from the HP webstore, I'm currently in the US for a month or so before returning back to New Zealand. My previous laptop (HP Dv5) died so I required a replacement.
I Found out the hard way that the HP webstore requires you to have a US billing address, since i'm only here temporarily I don't have a US billing address tied to my credit card.
I contacted support about this issue asking them if there was A way I could purchase the machine without the US account, the reply was not to dissimilar to politely {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} It was suggested that I either move my bank acct to the US or get someone from the US to buy it for me.
I don't really think i'm about to put an ad in the paper for someone to purchase a $1600 computer for me on the off chance I will pay them back.
I told the rep it was quite urgent that I get the laptop, it was obviously in HP's best intentions to reccomend I buy it from the NZ store (a very handy reccomendation) which is great, because i'm in the US right now, nowhere near NZ, whats the point in buying it there? in fact you don't even offer the machine in NZ. And whats even more great is the NZ site doesn't even WORK. how handy is THAT??
So I was basicly told, we do not give a flying {Content Removed} about the fact your company really requires a laptop, how about you go to a site that doesn't work, based in another country and try and buy it there while I sit and laugh at your pitiful attempts at life.
I also emailed them earlier (since chat was offline) 28 hours later, and still no reply. You claim that in 24hrs a rep will reply, it seems that is a lie (and also contradicts the email you sent saying within 48 hrs)
So unless someone in HP feels like most graciously rectifying my prediciment I feel that I will never look twice at HP (since I can't get them from the NZ store anyway) i'm not sure what i'll get next because although you don't want to sell me your product I kind of need to buy it because they are generally relatively good. still it seems that I won't be buying an HP any time soon unless this gets fixed.

PS, on a positive note, since everone is so angry (me included) around here. at times support has been great, big thanks to the guy who talked at great lengths about processors for Dv5's
PPS, i'm still really pissed off about the whole issue though, please fix it

    Standard practices:
    Restart the device (power off completely, then back on) - retest.
    Reset (hold sleep wake and home buttons until apple logo appears) - you can try this, but it is most useful when your device is frozen.
    Restore to factory settings - retest.
    Make an appointment at an Apple retail store genius bar if the above did not resolve the issue.

  • Need help: Dimensional column has assoc with more than 1 level

    Hi,
    I am trying to have multiple drill paths for a single dimension. For example, the Date dimension should be navigable by the following hierarchies:
    DateDimension
    +---- Calendar Year
    ......---- Calendar Quarter
    ............--- Calendar Month
    ..................-- Day
    +---- Calendar Year
    ......---- Day
    So, in other words, in Answers I should be able to add 'Calendar Year' to my report, display results, and then click down the path Calendar Year -> Calendar Quarter -> Calendar Month -> Day OR Calendar Year -> Day.
    However, when I model this in the Admin tool, it allows it, but then I add the column in Answers and get a runtime error:
    +[nQSError: 14064] Dimensional column [column name] has associations with more than one level+
    This is possible in BO and other tools. If it is not possible in Oracle BI EE, then one alternative would be to have two separate versions of 'Calendar Year' added to the report in Answers, each with their own drill path.
    Any ideas???

    You try this one .
    Create the Hierarchy Year --> Quarter--->Month-->Week-->Day in rpd as usual manner .But in Year report use navigate option in column properties add Quarterly Report (Caption it as 'Quarter')and Day level report(Caption it as 'Day') in navigate option.So when you click on Year column it i will prompt to select either Quarter or Day and when u select Quarter u will have normal drill functionality from Quarter to Month to Week and Day.Hope this helps you.

    I am in a school setting.  We have purchased several iPads.  If using the same Apple ID, can I download  previously purchased apps to more than one iPad?

    Yes, as long as the apps are still available - just log into the iTunes account on the iPad (Settings > Store) and re-download them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . If some of the apps are large then you could download them to a computer and sync them across to the iPads.

  • Web Browser Session Hangs When Opening More Than One Query

    Let me start off with the BW environment - we are on BW release 3.50 at support pack level 12. Basis component is release 6.40 at level 12.
    We have a situation where a web browser HTTP session "hangs" while trying to execute more than one query at a time. A role based menu template is used by our end-users to run queries. The end-users execute a query and while it is running, try to execute a second query. But the web browser for the second query does not become available until the first query is complete.
    The following is the detailed steps of the process:
    1. From my user menu in BW, expand the folder for Role Z: BW_REPORTING and click on SAP_BW_TEMPLATE – Web_Role_Menu. Web browser window will open.
    2. Within the ZTPL_Role_Menu_Reporting web page, select Role Z: FUNC_DEVELOPER > BW Reporting > Controlling > Profitability Analysis > Detail query. (Role Z: FUNC_TESTER can be used in this example as well, just follow the same menu path).  Click on Detail and another web browser window will open for the query selection screen.
    3. On the selection screen for the CO-PA Detail query, enter values and execute the query.
    4. While the CO-PA Detail query is executing, go back to the first opened web browser for ZTPL_Role_Menu_Reporting and go to Role Z: FUNC_DEVELOPER > BW Reporting > Controlling > Profitability Analysis > Operating Concern query. Run the CO-PA Operating Concern query while the CO-PA Detail query is still executing. The session for the Operating Concern “hangs” and does not display the selection screen until the CO-PA Detail query has completed. Once the Detail query has finished, then the second query, CO-PA Operating Concern will then display the selection screen for the query.
    Our end-users expect the second query to display the selection screen immediately with no delay. The end-users do not want to wait for the selection screen of the second query. They want to be able to execute the queries simultaneously.
    Our Basis group as tried adjusting some parameters and has implemented OSS note 853396, but the issue still exists.
    Is it a BW issue or is it an issue with MS Internet Explorer?

    I had a somewhat similar issue earlier when I tried closing BW Query windows, it would freeze and wouldn't close. I resolved the issue by turning off some BHO (Browser help Objects) in IE.It can be done using IE>Tools>Manage Add-Ons

    I had issues in 10.4.7 as well as 10.4.8.
    My problems occurred at the beginning of 10.4.8, then many users brought light to me using WEP, which was not working that great. I changed my connections to WPA2 and my problem has disappeared. If my problem didn't resolve the way it did, I would have mentioned it the next time I visited an apple store.
    The bottom line is that assumptions, complaining, and self diagnostics don't get many people very far and bringing the problem to apple helps them know the incidence of this problem, and helps them develop a reliable solution.
    Though some users have reported the "cold shoulder" when reporting Airport problems to apple... I hope you weren't one of them.

  • MS Outlook 2010 - Group by subject and show messages which has count of more than four

    Like everyone I have hundreds of emails hitting me daily. I always wanted these two ways enabled in outlook to reduce my inbox. Can anyone let me know if this is possible, if not MS product team you got a request.
    1) Outlook lets us to group all the messages by subject BUT it doesn't sort by the highest amount messages.
    Ex: Out of 100 messages in inbox, lets say msg A: same subject - 10 emails; msg B: same subject - 5 emails... rest are single subject eamils.
    when i group by subject i would want msg A and msg B to show first, so that i can take action.
    2) Same concept but want to filter only emails which has more than FOUR replies on the same subject

  • Has anyone used more than one event for one project?

    Hi,
    I have an opinion about Final Cut Pro X that hasn't changed since my first few days with it.  I waited to see if I would get used to it.  But, after a fair amount of time, I still am not comfortable with 'Events' and 'Projects'.  The separation of the media and projects creates more problems than solutions with my workflow.
    The purpose of it was to add flexibility for both the professionals and consumers using it, but my first impressions are still the same.  The new Event and Project system adds complexity to organization and archiving.  I wouldn't write this if it wasn't enough of a hindrance for me, that I encounter constantly.  I think the new Final Cut Pro X is incredible, but this issue is definitely important to me.
    Has anyone out there used more than 1 Event for 1 Project?  Some of us create more than 1 Project for an Event, to make different version of a video, or for brainstorming, or to make a part 1 and part 2 of a video, but I've never had more than 1 Event for 1 Project.  I don't need to use the media from multiple Events for the same Project.  And I've never used it for a reason.  I don't think someone will want to use their Hawaii vacation footage for a Denver vacation project, and a Florida vacation project.  I think we should bring back the connection between Events and Projects in a meaningful way. 
    This is a throw back to the older days, but that's not always a bad thing.  Let us keep our projects, or timelines, in the Events folder.  Make an area above the JPG section, and PNG section, and MOV section, and call it the Projects section.  Then we can easily find our Projects and add a new Project every time we need it, and organize our files quickly - without having to keep track of more windows. Final Cut Pro X is all about being more simplified than other video programs, and I think this goes right along with that idea.

    My original fear was that FCPX was just going to be iMovie Pro... It so is not!
    People use the interface in different ways. I think that's what most of us like about it, it's flexibiity to accommodate different types of workflows.  For me, I use the Events browser mostly like I'd be using the Finder. All the imported clips I use are referenced by the hard disks on which they reside. I know where to find them in the Event Browser and I know where to find them in the Finder.  I use a lot of stock footage and therefore *reuse* a lot of stock footage from project to project. I'm not going to re-import duplicates into different events because I don't find that the least bit convenient and I do find it a terrible waste of precious HD real estate.
    But that's me.
    Some people like to load up everything they're going to use in a single project in a single event... I get that. You can command click your way through a bunch of clips, type E and everything is automatically arranged on your storyline in the order you selected the clips. That is *awesome*!! Instant storyline (/timeline.) Furthermore, for those that need to share projects, it's easier to bundle up the events and projects if they're all together (albeit in two different folders) on one disk (— at least they are always at the top level of the drive and easy to find.)
    Keeping your Events media in a different location (satellite drives) and keeping your current project on your *fastest* drive is probably the fastest way to edit (particularly if your satellite drives are Firewire or Thunderbolt [peer-to-peer interfaces don't hog system resources].) There is little cross interference in disk accesses that way. So essentially, you can keep FCPX dealing with original clip data that doesn't need to be quite as fast, reading and writing to slower drives on your system, while letting it plow through the heavy work on your fastest access drive (usually your internal HD.)
    By no means is FCPX "more simplified". It has a huge amount of power. It has all the best parts of Color, Soundtrack Pro and Motion built in. It allows you to explore *ideas* in real time rather than having to plan for them a week in advance [layout, round-tripping plans to Color, STP and/or Motion for titling or effects.]  You can grab and move around elements anywhere on your "palette" with simple mouse moves and an occasional key press. The list goes on. Bottom line, it doesn't matter how you organize your events or your projects. It's all about the finished product. And for me, I can turn that around in about 1/5th the time (not claiming it's great — but I think better results in 20% of the time, on average, than it would have taken in Studio.) [Not a professional video editor -- I'm a graphic designer, and I develop Motion graphics for FCPX to make all "you guys" look better.]

    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    To access more than 2 concurrent users you need to purchase RDS CAL. There are 2 types of RDS CAL available.
    Per Device and Per User. When you purchase Per Device it will be allocated to that device and any user can access from that device. For Per User CAL, it will be allocated to particular users and that user can use any device for remote connection.
    So it depends on your environment requirement that which CAL do you prefer to buy. But please see that before you install the CAL, you must have RDS License server install and also activated; then only you can configure the RDS CAL.
    To purchase RDS CAL, you can purchase latest version of RDS CAL (Server 2012 R2) so that it can handle the server 2008 R2 server also.

    Welcome to the HP support forums.  I understand that when you are printing a multiple page document on your Officejet Pro 8500a that only the first 2 pages print.
    To better understand the issue would you please provide some further information:
    1)    What operating system are you using (Windows 7, Mac 10.8, or Windows 8, etc)?
    2)    Is this happening for all multiple page documents or just one?
    3)    Has a default of only printing the first 2 pages been accidentally set?

  • Web cache limitation-can't add more than 6 cachebility rules

    Hi ,
    I am using 9iAS v10200 on winnt 4.0 server.
    But in webcache I could not able to add more than 6 cachebility rules. In 5 rules it is working fine. But after adding 6th rule, I was unable to edit,add,delete any rule from webcache admin (port 4000)
    Is there any way to increase the no.'s of cacheblity rules in this version of webcache.

    My memory is a little bit fuzzy on this one, but I think the Web Cache 2.0.0.1 version that is currently available for download on OTN and Metalink fixes this NT UI problem. Note, it's a UI problem, not a limitation of the cache itself. Editing the webcache.xml by hand is a workaround, but you might as well install the 2.0.0.1 version to get the fix.

    It's annoying to keep returning automatically to the top of a web page that I often navigate away from--eg, Google News--rather than to the position I was at when I left it. I've looking over the Firefox settings and can't find where the default can be changed.

    Try holding down the ALT key while you hit the left arrow key.
    But in some cases, the webmaster may have configured the page to load from the beginning again. There's not much you can do about that unfortunately.
