Attempting to clone MAC address, cannot save changes.

Hello.
I am attempting to use the MAC address cloning feature on my Linksys e2000 router. When I check "Enabled" and then attempt to save settings I receive "The values you entered are invalid. Please try again." I also receive this message if I select "Enabled" and then "Clone My PC's MAC". All other change to settings seem to work.
Any help?

You might have to reset to factory defaults since there isn't any reason why this is occurring AFAIK. Maybe trying to clone the router's MAC onto itself broke something in the firmware.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Error message: iMovie cannot save changes to the library!?!

iMovie crashed my computer and now I can't creat a new movie.
    Here's the full error message:
iMovie cannot save changes to the library.
The hard disk where your library is located may be full or unavailable or permissions may have changed. To avoid losing your work, quit iMovie.
What's up with this? I tried trashing the preferences, but got the same message. I have a 27-inch late 2013 iMac running Mavericks with 445.55 GB free space.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

You've already tried trashing iMovie preferences (By the way think in Mavericks you have to reboot as well after this for the new preferences to take effect) .  One other thing to try is creating a new user account, logging in and seeing if you can create a new project in iMovie (of course you won't see your exisitng projects).  If you can then iMovie itself is OK.  If not  then the only other thing I can think of is re-installing iMovie  (see http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/How-To-Re-Download-Apps-From-The-Mac-Ap p-Store.htm)
Is everthing else working OK after your computer crash?  Maybe you should also run Verify disk in Disk Utility.
Maybe someone-else has some other suggestions (I have not heard of this problem before)?

  • Need to disable "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" with "Clone MAC address?"

Ok -- so I learned from tech support and this forum that the "Clone MAC address" option needs to be enabled when connecting to the Internet via a cable modem. In one of the forum posts (sorry lost track of which one), it said that in addition I need to disable "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" as well -- is this correct? If so what is the effect of this? Linksys documentation is not clear if this is absolutely necessary.
I think the comment is in this thread
    http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=8600

Usually resetting you cable modem will allow you to use a router without cloning the MAC address.  Reset modem, power down, plug router into the modem, power up the modem, power up the router and you should be good to go.  The popular reason that I know of for unchecking "Block Anonymous Internet Requests" is when you plan to use P2P software like Azureus.  Your computer becomes pingable and can be seen on the net.

  • Cannot Save Changes in Library - Help!

I still cannot save changes I make to a library image back to
the library. I open library, drag the image to the stage, make a
change ... and then it just sits there. Nothing in the library
changes, nothing I do can make the original image in the library
take the changes. I've tried saving as, exporting, creating a new
image (it will not allow me to give it the same name as an existing
library image .. the one I want to change).
I suspect some bug in Flash since I re-installed it on a new
laptop. It worked before. I have tried re-installing it and have
the latest updates from Flash site.
    Any ideas???

OK, never mind, I figured it out ... it was my unfamiliarity
with Flash, I rarely do anything there. I had selected the "open as
library" command which does not permit editing. Instead I needed to
open the fla file, then choose Library from the Window menu
    Duh.

  • Error has occurred. Cannot save changes.

When I try to purchase an app, I get a screen asking me to fill out security questions. I fill all of them in and click on "done" and it says "an error has occurred. cannot save changes". I did a google search and apparently this has been going on for several years. But no where did I find a solution.

Were you able to find a solution? I have the same problem

  • Cannot save changes when enabling Publishing Server

I have Contribute 4 with Contribute Publishing Server 1.11.
I'm able to setup normal Contribute sites fine and was able to
setup one Publishing Server site. Now though, whenever I try to
enable Publishing Server on a site, it enables alright but when I
close the Site Administration window I get an error that says
"Contribute cannot save your changes to the website's shared
    settings on the server".
I've tried checking permissions; everything seems 'liberal'
enough like Contribute likes it. I've reinstalled Publishing Server
(including deleting any _mm folders). I've attempted deleting and
re-adding sites more times than I can count. Nothing has seemed to
make a difference. Has anyone experienced this problem or have any
ideas what might be going on? Thanks very much!
    Nathan Williams

Hello Nathan, I'm using Contribute 3.11 (without Publishing
Server) and I'm experiencing the same issue: "while trying to setup
    the admin password".
It seems to me that this is a bug from Macromedia... and
hopefully they will respond to us.

  • Integration Builder cannot save changes

    All,
We have a problem with Integration Builder both Design and
Configuration. If we restart the XI server then we can save changes from both the Designer and Configuration lists one ot two times. After that we get a Java: Null pointer error whenever trying to save changes.  No errors reported by ABAP engine or database. Connection to SLD server seems OK.
In the default tracefile the exception message says that a zipfile cannot be written.  Have checked the database and filesystems, everything looks OK.
    Thanks for any help,
    Alan Nichols

    Hi,
If you running Xi on IBM machines please take a look at
Note 859465 - NullPointerException in DTR/XI it solved our problem.
    Kind regards Johan Göthberg

  • LR 1.3 cannot save changes to export preset - only create new presets

So, in LR 1.2, I could change some parameters in a preset (export presets) and then save the changed preset. But the upgraded LR 1.3 export form does not seem to have a "save" option. I can create a new preset, I can remove a preset, but I cannot save a change to an already existing preset. I can get around it by ...
. add, creating a new (ie. temporary) name saving my changes
    . open the original preset
    . remove (the old preset)
. open the new preset (with the temp name)
. add using the old preset name that I like to use
. open the temporary (ie. new) preset
. remove (to delete the temporary preset)
    - yuck! What an ugly work around :(
Can we please have our save option back again?

It's still there. Right-click the preset you want to update and select that option.

  • WGA54G V1 mac address is somehow changed. And i can't get the dns to wor.k.

    I have an old WGA54G. V 1.0, I think.
I pulled it ou to use it.  I plugged it all in and into ethernet on my switch, it booted up ok and it was connected to my dsl router.
I noticed it's MAC address in my router.Same as the sticker.
    So all that worked.
I went into it with it's IP address and it all looked normal, it had it's own MAC address listed on the web UI and all.
I put in my local wep key and told it to connect to my wireless so I could take it and plug it into the XBOX 360 in the livingroom.
That all seemed to work OK too. It connected to the wireless. So far so good Then it became unresponsive.  Now this is connected to ethernet and also wireless.
    Connection timed out
But then I noticed the MAC address listed on the web UI is well, mostly blank.
    1f:c0:00:00:00:00
I looked in the router again and it's listed as being connected wired and the MAC is correct.
So what's up with this mac address as listed on the web UI?
How can that be changed back to normal?
I reflashed the unit to the latest firmware.
I hooked it to the Xbox 360
The Xbox 360 liked it and asked me what the wep key was, all of which I had put on that unit before I hooed it to the xbox 360.  But it connected.
It seemed ok but it couldn't get an IP from the DHCP so I gave it one outside my DHCP range. Then it complained it couldn't get DNS from the router.  So I gave it the google public DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.  Then it complained it couldnt' find Xbox Live in DNS.  I tried my ISPs dns.  Same error.
Can anyone shed light on this?  Am i doing something wrong?

Did you reset the WGA54G after updating it with the latest firmware? It is recommended to reset the device after upgrading the firmware. Try to reset the WGA54G.
Here is the steps to reset the router:
Push the reset button on WGA54G for 30 seconds, turn off the WGA54G wait for 30 seconds and then power it on. Power light should blink when you perform the reset process.
Before trying to connect your Wireless-G Game Adapter to a wireless network, please know the following: SSID, Wireless Security and/or Network Key. Make sure that the Xbox™ works when wired to the router before proceeding.

  • Able to clone MAC address on Airport Express?

Am I able to clone my MAC address to the airport express router? I connect to wireless and wired networks but my apartment who provides the internet required my MAC address to activate my macbook on the network, so if I can clone my macbook MAC address to the airport express unit then it would work, any advice?

Thank you, I was able to locate the MAC addresses and I will supply my apartment with them. It's just kind of a hassle, I have to fill out another form and wait probably a week for them to add it. With XBOX 360, you can clone your computers MAC address and get access to internet immediately. Thanks for the help...

  • Deny Mac address cannot use client ip address

    Dear Team
How I can restrict Mac address in the denied list ,cannot use ip address.
    Regards
    Njsingh

    Hi,
If you want to filter DHCP client by MAC address in order to prevent some device from obtaining IP address. You may enable Deny Filters on DHCP console first, and then New Filter by MAC address. Detailed steps you may reference the link below:

Windows Server 2008 R2 or above system version has this function. Reference:

  • Cannot save changes to an Indesign document

I have documents from a client that were created in an earlier version of Indesign (I'm not sure if it was CS3 or CS4). I use Indesign CS5.5. I can open the documents OK and work in them without problem. (I have all the fonts being used, but some of the image links are missing)  I'm adding pages and formatting text as I go. Then around 30 pages into the job, I find that I'm unable to undo or save any changes to the document. I've tried exporting to an IDML file and reopened it as an Indesing document and I still can't save changes.
Can anyone help me? Short of rebuilding the document from scratch, I don't know what to do.

    I'm using InDesign CS5.5
I am having exactly the same problem, all previous discusions are the same for me...
I also use a font manager (suitcase fusion), no other plugins.
And this counts for all files i try to save in indesign right now..
and i noticed my links panel seems to be failing, it's open but it doesn't show any content or knobs or sliders.. "blank panel"
Any thoughts, I seriously need to get this out the way.. work needs to be done!

  • Cannot save changes to files on raid

Background - G5 xServe, xRAID - 6 Folders shared out to mixed environment, OS X, XP Pro and Vista. I am in the Administrators group and have full access to all folders on RAID. Admin group has four members 3 on Vista 1 XP. I can open and change/delete/create new from my Mac Pro without a hitch.
We can all read files, but we cannot open a file on the raid and make a change and save from Vista - X and XP are fine. Have tried everything under the sun for Vista file sharing issues and I hate to say it, it doesn't appear to be Vista.
If I open a Excel file change one cell and then try to save i get the following message " Access Denied. Contact your Administrator" or "Destination Folder Access Denied". On all of the shared folders with the exception of one. That folder I can change whatever I want and save.
The ACL and POSIX look to be good and match for the administrators group.
I have no problem dropping the file on my desktop and then opening and making changes and copying back to the shared folder, but our CIO would prefer to make the simple changes and then save it without the extra steps.
Before anyone bashes Vista, the error message indicates that it coming from the shared folder and is getting it's information/permission from there.

I found the answer in another post - here is what I did. Stop SMB service, opened up my favorite text editor and navigated to the /etc/smb.conf file and added the line *acl check permissions = no*. Restarted SMB service, logged in from my Vista box and saved changes without a hitch.
