Punching Machine data into sap
Hi,
My client is using Punching machine system for recoding Employee Timings...
How do u integrate that with SAP HR?
The client wants the IT's to be updated on a daily basis?
What are the config steps that Functional Consultants need to do in it?
Thaaks in advance
TarunHi,
What timing strategy are you adopting with?
If you are dealing with positive timing using P2002 attendance infos, punching machine system should provide attendance records in format of P2002.
If you are dealing with positive timing using time events, punching machine system should provide time events records in formate of IT2011(TEVEN).
It may like this:
PERNR(8)----
Personal number
ZAUSW(8)----
IC card number
TERID(4)----
terminal ID
SATZA(3)----
time type(In/Out)
LDATE(8)----
recording date
LTIME(6)----
recording time
DA(1)----

Extraction of Attendence Punch machine data (MS Access) into Oracle
Hi all,
i want to link the our employees timesheet with the Punch machine so for that purpose i nedd to load data from MS ACCESS into oracle8i on daily basis can anyone guide me regarding this. how to extract the data from MS ACCESS daily ??
Regards
RehmanI do not use or support ACCESS however I know at lot of places have ACCESS front-end's to Oracle so it ought to be possible, if the data does not need a lot of reformatting, to insert the data into Oracle from Access.
You would also have the option of extracting the data into delimited data files and loading those into Oracle via sqlldr.
At least one application we have collects data from ACCESS into SQL Server and then sends data to Oracle via a Linked Database.
The direct insert from ACCESS to Oracle seems best but if you also need data from elsewhere or have extensive reformatting (perhaps normalization) to perform also one of the other techniques may work better.

How to store data into database by reading sql statements from text file
how to write java program for storing data into database by reading sql statements from text file
Step 1: Create a property file to add various queries.
Step 2: Read the properties file using ResourceBundle
Step 3: Use the jdbc to execute the query read from the property file.
So in future if you need to change query no need do any modifications in java program. But depends on how you use the property file. -
Using Data Pump when database is read-only
Hello
I used flashback and returned my database to the past time then I opened the database read only
then I wanted use data pump(expdp) for exporting a schema but I encounter this error
ORA-31626: job does not exist
ORA-31633: unable to create master table "SYS.SYS_EXPORT_SCHEMA_05"
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 95
ORA-06512: at "SYS.KUPV$FT", line 863
ORA-16000: database open for read-only access
but I could by exp, export that schema
My question is that , don't I can use Data Pump while database is read only ? or do you know any resolution for the issue ?
thanksYou need to use NETWORK_LINK, so the required tables are created in a read/write database and the data is read from the read only database using a database link:
SYSTEM@db_rw> create database link db_r_only
2 connect to system identified by oracle using 'db_r_only';
$ expdp system/oracle@db_rw network_link=db_r_only directory=data_pump_dir schemas=scott dumpfile=scott.dmpbut I tried it with 10.2.0.4 and found and error:

I found in Metalink the bug 7331929 which is solved in 11.2! I haven't tested this procedure with prior versions or with 11g so I don't know if this bug only affects to 10.2.0.4 or 10* and 11.1*

How to insert multiple data to non database data block?
Hi all,
I'm new in using form builder. I have a question about insert multiple data to non database data block.
I want to upload a csv file that content the attendance transaction of all of employees. If the employee in that
file doesn't exist in that company,so I must record the employee number into non database data block.
If I just upload one employee data, I can record it to that data block. But, if more than one, it didn't works.
May you help me?
Thanks..
Tikayou might need a NEXT_RECORD or CREATE_RECORD to go to the next reord in that block. It would be easier to help if we knew your code.

Use previous Time Machine database
Does anyone know if I can resume backing up to an "old" Time Machine database? I ended up doing a system restore, migrating my user across from Time Machine and then reinstalling all my software etc. When I restarted Time Machine on the same disk, I started from scratch.
For security, I want to keep 2 copies of my Time Machine Disk, possibly by alternating destination disks. If I switch disks, will I be able to come back to my old one? Here is a little followup on why a person might want to flip flop between TM volumes. My iDisk syncing got entirely screwed up when I upgrade to Leopard. It ended up almost completely corrupt one way or another. TM doesn't seem to see old idisk states, and I have not been successful in digging up a clean version of my iDisk, and have since given up.
Somwhere along the line I turned iDisk syncing off and It spat out a disk image on my desktop that was not 10GB, but was >500GB. This made time machine think it had to erase old backups, which it did without telling me, but then it gave me the error that it could not backup 800GB onto a 500GB drive anyway. I can understand that TM would want to erase old backups without telling me, probably because I configured it that way, but it should NOT do this if the backup is going to be impossible anyway. It should check total disk size first, and THEN delete old backups. This is shooting first and asking questions later.
I hate data loss. -
Satellite A300D-135 - BIOS - System Configuration Data Read Error
After Booting a Satellite A300D-135 laptop the following error message appears:

ERROR
System Configuration Data Read Error
Press <F1> to resume, <F2> to Setup
After pressing F1 the machine boots Windows just fine, but the error message is quite irritating while it comes with a loud BEEP
I've tried the following things so far (in this particular order):
- Loaded BIOS defaults
- Flashed the BIOS with latest BIOS (2.80) for this model type
- Reinstalled windows with HDD format
All of these haven't worked.
I've seen the same message appearing on several places on the internet (on different laptops with a Phoenix BIOS in common), but until now I haven't been able to find a working solution.
It might me a hardware issue, but all devices (vga, soiund, lan, wifi, usb, hdd) seem to work just fine in Windows, so this doesn't seem the issue). Another solution that is mentioned in some forums is replacing the cell battery. But because the laptop keeps time properly I don't think this is the case either.
Any ideas ?
Regards,
GJHi buddy,
It seems that the power on self test has detected a hardware error... :(
I think such a problem like this you cant solve with loading the default settings in BIOS or with an update because its hardware based error.
In your case I would contact an authorized service provider. The guys can check your notebook because they have special diagnostic tools for Toshiba notebooks and access to all Toshiba databases I think.
You can find a list of them here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Find an authorized service provider
Usually they work really fast and you will have a short repair time I think. In my case it did take only one week until I got my notebook back. :) -

Sub VI to enter database data taking more time when calling from main VI
Hi All,
I created a sub vi to enter data to a new database, after reading from another database. when i executed that sub vi alone, it took only 2 minutes to enter 20000 records. But when i called that sub VI from my main VI, its taking 35 minutes to enter 20000 records.
my maiin vi has another while loop running parallelly which will perform some other operations. How to handle memory in this case? i mean when i call my sub vi from main vi, i need to give complete processor memory for that sub vi. is it possible?
please help. thanks in advance.
SoorajHi Oliver,
in your example the numeric data is passed from sub-vi to main only when sub-vi terminates, this is what it's supposed to be when you fetch the data from the connector output of a sub-vi.
You can use queues function to exchange data between sub-vi and main.vi; take a look at the example Message Logging with Named Queue.vi.
An alternative method is passing to sub-vi a reference of an indicator (or control) and update its value on the fly.
See example.

Putting apps database in Read-Only mode
Hi,
I want to put the apps database in read-only mode to that user will be able to login into the applications and see data but will not be able to update it.
What is the best way to do this?
ThanksI am still looking at how to do this because if users
update the UAT/test database, when the prod upgrade
is completed, they will think that their updates will
be available and this will cause some issues. This is a training/expectation-setting issue, not a technical one. You need to make sure that your users understand the difference between a test system and production, and that changes made in testing will not be present in production. They also need to understand that this situation is actually to their benefit: it enables them to really work with the test system to uncover potential problems and learn new features, without fear of making changes that could negatively impact their day-to-day work in production.
Please note that I'm not trying to be a jerk here. I very respectfully submit that attempting to make an instance read-only for training purposes, even if possible, will involve a great deal of technical work for very little (and perhaps even negative) overall benefit to the users.

How to open a "manual" Physical standby database in read/write mode
Hi,
I am running Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production Standard Edition on Linux version 2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp ([email protected]) (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3))
I've created a physical standby database, but since I am running Standard Edition, I am not using the DataGuard features. I use the rsync utility to copy over the archivelogs to the standby database, and I apply them periodically to the standby database.
The standby database is started this way :
startup nomount pfile='/u01/oradata/orcl/initorcl.stdby';
alter database mount standby database;
Everything runs perfectly fine, I can do "alter database open read only" and then I can do selects into tables to confirm that everything is up to date.
The thing is, if I shutdown immediate the database, then do just startup :
shutdown immediate;
startup;
The database opens with no error messages, but is still in read-only mode...
I read that the default behavior for a standby database is to open read-only, like I am experiencing, but I would like to know what is the right way to open it correctly in read-write mode (I understand that after that, my standby will not be standby anymore and that I will have to recreate my standby database).
Thanks,
MatHello,
There're features which allows you to open a Standby database in Read/Write mode but for all I know
it needs Entreprise Edition.
In Enterprise Edition you can use Logical Standby database. More over, for Physical standby there's
a way by using flashback database so as to rolling backward the database and avoiding to recreate
the Standby.
In Standard Edition I'm afraid that you'll have to recreate your Standby database.
Best regards,
Jean-Valentin
