Attributes in Oracle Lockbox
Hi All,
I need to capture some additional infomation relating to receipts applications( overflow records ) in Oracle Lockbox.
Please let me know if it is possible to capture these infomation through attributes in the ar_payments_interface_all.
Because I saw an article, which says only the attributes can be used for Payments records, but not for the overflow records.
Thanks,
Thanks Satish,
I had already found that list but was surprised that there are so much fewer attributes than under 10g. Perhaps there is a difference between the USERENV function and the USERENV namespace?
In the Database 10g Security Guide [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14266/apdvpoli.htm#i1006199] there are around 45 attributes in the USERENV namespace. Have most of them been deprecated or is the list maintained elsewhere?
Thanks again,
Leo

How to add a custom attributes in Oracle HTML Quotes page?
Hi,
Could someone advice on the best way to add a custom attribute in Oracle HTML Sales Quoting page.
As this page is not an OA page, we are not able to use the concept of View Objects using AK Developer.
Thanks,
ArathiI have a requirement from our end users that all of them requires a shortcut button in toolbar for submitting a request instead of going the normal way in order to submit a single request.
please can any one help me out in solving this query.Any reason you want to use a shortcut rather than using (Requests > Submit) window?

How to Set Basic compression attribute through Oracle ILM
Hi,
I have log a SR with Oracle with regard to this but they redirect to this forum.
We have configured Oracle ILM in our environment. We have a requirement that after 3 years the data to be moved to a Low Cost Storage. We tested the same through Oracle ILM and it works fine for the above scenario.
We have another requirement that after moved to Low Cost Storage Tier through Oracle ILM we also want to compress the data.
When we set the compressed attribute through Oracle ILM it alwasy generated the script
like the one below
alter table test_user.range_part
move partition year4
tablespace part3
compress for all operations -----------------Oracle Advanced Compression--------------
update indexes;
But we want some thing like below through Oracle ILM
alter table test_user.range_part
move partition year4
tablespace part3
compress -------------------Basic Compression----------------
update indexes;
Can you please help us how to set the Basic compression attribute through Oracle ILM.
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
I have a requirement to accommodate an attribute burdened_cost of pa_budget_versions table in the page /oracle/apps/pa/project/webui/MyProjectsPG.
Actually the issue is, this is a standard search page and there is another page /oracle/apps/fnd/framework/customjrad/webui/CustomJRADViewUpdatePage.xml where we have the facility to shuttle the display attributes.
Currently my requirement is my attribute doesn't exist in the shuttle list and hence I need to accommodate my attribute possibly by VO extension (I believe)
But I am not able to exactly get the details, which VO to be extended here...
Attaching the images of the pages.(CustomJRADViewUpdatePage is where we can see shuttling of attirbutes and I need to additionally accommodate one attribute here)
(MyProjectsPG is where we see the shuttled attributes, so I should view my additionally added attribute here in the display list)
Can any please let me know how to get the details and achieve the solution for this requirement.
OAF version: 11.5.10RUP7
Thanks,
AffyAJ,
Thanks for your super fast response.
I don't want to dynamically display the attribute.
As we can see there are existing attributes in the shuttle list , so we can shuttle whichever attribute we want to display.
I need to add my attribute to this list and I am not getting idea as to how and which VO i need to substitute to get the attirbute in this list, once I can get this attribute I hope it'll be displayed in the search page once we shuttle this attribute to the display list. Let me know if i am wrong.
Also, I tried to find the VO behind both the pages, for CustomJRADViewUpdatePG.xml there are no VOs to check for and only in MyProjectsPG , I found out ProjectListGenVO, so is this the one i need to substitute with?
Thanks,
Affy -
API to Update Invoice Attributes in Oracle R12
Hi,
I'm looking some Oracle EBS API to update the Invoice header attributes fields in AR R12.
If some of you can help me I will appreciate it.
Regards.
Fco.AFAIK, Oracle does not provide APIs to update ATTRIBUTE columns, since these columns store free-form customer-defined data. You can directly update ATTRIBUTE columns using SQL, taking appropriate care to not corrupt/invalidate the data in these columns.

Update a subtype attribute in Oracle 11g
Hi All,
I am trying to update a subtype attribute of an object table, but getting error. If anybody can show me sample of it, I would be thankful.
create or replace type supobj as object (a number) not final;
create or replace type subobj under supobj (b number);
create table test of subobj;
insert into test values (1,2);
insert into test values (12,21);
insert into test values (13,22);
insert into test values (14,23);
select * from test;
A B
1 2
12 21
13 22
14 14
Now iI want to update B's value, for which A = 13
Expected output
A B
1 2
12 21
13 100
14 14Is there any anyway to straightway pick the attribute from the object record and update it, without updating the whole object?Like this?:
SQL> create or replace type supobj as object (a number) not final;
Type created.
SQL> create or replace type subobj under supobj (b number) not final;
Type created.
SQL> create type subobj3 under subobj (d number)
Type created.
SQL> create table tabobj of subobj
Table created.
SQL> insert into tabobj values (subobj3 (1, 2, 3))
1 row created.
SQL> insert into tabobj values (subobj3 (12, 22, 32))
1 row created.
SQL> update (select treat (value (t) as subobj3).a a,
treat (value (t) as subobj3).d d
from tabobj t)
set d = 29302
where a = 1
1 row updated.
SQL> select treat (value (t) as subobj3) subobj3 from tabobj t
SUBOBJ3
(1; 2; 29302)
(12; 22; 32)
2 rows selected. -

Problems retreiving varchar attributs from oracle.sql.STRUCT
Hi,
I have downloaded the Java + Oracle Object Types examples from the oracle homepage, but instead of the varchar values from a STRUCT the Java-application just displays "???". Numbers and dates are displayed correct.
Im running JDK1.4 on Windows and Oracle 9.2.0.8 on Unix with corresponding JDBC driver
Any idea?
Thanx in advance,
JoJo,
I'm guessing it has something to do with your NLS / I18N settings.
Do you know what they are?
Usually, both JDK and Oracle assume an American environment.
In other words, American English, etc.
Is your environment different to this?
Good Luck,
Avi. -
This is a Bursting problem under EBS 5.6.3. In production we have 5.6.2 and since our development system to 5.6.3 has been upgraded, the following error occurs on every single Burst being done using the Concurrent Manager only:

I can run the same file through 5.6.3 ($JAVA_TOP) libraries mounted on my JDev with no problems. Also the same XML file runs fine on Production under 5.6.2 - no problems. I have also checked the XML file using a syntax checker. I know this is not a syntax issue even though it looks like it.
Could someone point me in the right direction - explain what this means. Getting desperate as 5.6.3 will be going into production soon and all Bursting will fail with this error. I can't get the simplest XML File to Burst - NOTE this is only occurring on the EBS system (even running without the CM ie. a standalone java main it fails). I think this has something to do with the XML parser version and the EBS environment.
Please help...Hi Tim, good thinking - wouldn't have thought to check this file. Anyway can confirm that the problem is happening with multiple burst control files so I haven't checked the files themselves as the problem seems systemic. anyway here is an example.

Oracle User Admin -- Securing Attribute list
Hi... does anybody hv the full list of "Securing Attributes" with explaination of how each of them are used.
Hi,
Do we have any profile or securing attribute in oracle that can be changed to force oracle to re-Enter password on selecting
a particular responsibililty.I do not think such a profile exists, but you can manage the session timeout at the responsibility level -- See (Note: 412224.1 - How To Manage Timeout at Responsibility Level). A good practice is to train the end users not to leave their session open or to lock their workstations before leaving it!

Category attributes default values updating
Hi,
I'm developing an application that, upon upload of a file to the specified root folder(through the application), reads some values from a file, creates a folder structure based on those values, and moves the file in the bottom folder. Now, a predefined category should be attached to the file, to enable search by category attributes. My idea is to set the category as required on that bottom folder (or the first), and modify it's attribute default values, so that the file inherits them when moved in it. I have found mshannon's examples in some other thread ( Updating a document with category metadata using updateDocument(): error! ), the first one works only with files, not folders, and the second one doesn't work for me at all, I get an error:
javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: ORACLE.FDK.AggregateError:ORACLE.FDK.AggregateError
here is my code:
public static void updateAttributes() throws FdkException, RemoteException{
login();
FileManager fm = s_WsCon.getFileManager();
Item fajl = fm.resolvePath(prop.getProperty("userhome") + "/root folder/folder1/readme1.txt",
null);
long docID = fajl.getId();
NamedValue[] catInstAtr = new NamedValue[] {
new NamedValue("CUSTOM_138297", "changed value for att1"),
new NamedValue("CUSTOM_138299", "changed value for att2")
NamedValue[] catDef = new NamedValue[] {
new NamedValue(Options.UPDATE_CATEGORY_ID,new Long(139054)),
new NamedValue(Options.CATEGORY_DEFINITION_ATTRIBUTES, catInstAtr)
NamedValue[] docDef = new NamedValue[] {
new NamedValue(Options.CATEGORY_DEFINITION, catDef)
AttributeRequest[] reqAtr = new AttributeRequest[]{
new AttributeRequest(Attributes.DESCRIPTION, null)
fajl = fm.updateDocument(docID, docDef, reqAtr);
logut();
This example is (I think) only for updating on document level, but I could use a solution for folder-level updating, as I explained before. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
PedjaPedja,
Here is my code to get category from Folder this is updated version from sample code TestCategory2.java
1. It will get the required category of a folder.
2. gets the internal category attribute names
3. get Category id if uploading file along with category attribute values OR
updating file and also updating previous category instance values..
