Audio In Troubles

Hey, quick question. I am just having a horrible time getting my "audio in" to respond.
I have read every manual and I just can't get it to respond. What do I do?
My interface is an "I-mic", is that the problem? Is it not powerful enough?

Try changing audio output sample rate to 48000Hz. You can do this by launching Audio MIDI Setup, located in Applications/Utilities. Select the Audio Devices tab and ensure you have correct interfaces selected for input/output. Try switching between the Audio Output Format settings.
Aside from this try setting the buffer size on the Digidesign CoreAudio Manager which should be open when iTunes is attempting to play through the interface. I did have this problem at one point. Ensure you have installed all Pro Tools CS updates and Mac OSX updates too.

Audio Unit Troubles

Hello everyone. I was moving some of my Logic Data around (I shouldn't have, I know, I learned my lesson) to a new external HD. Things went weird, so I reinstalled Logic 8 and everything is fine and smooth except my third party Audio Units (ie iDrum) are missing. I have Logic 8, and the units are nowhere to be found withing Logic. I did delete some stuff and I may have deleted them. My main concern is, for a drum pattern (that I created with an AU) is the pattern lost if I reinstall the Audio Unit? Is there a special place I can look for those or did I likely throw them away forever...?

well try to go to preferences/ AudioUnits manager, then see if your missing plugins are listed and check them if they're not checked already.
I was having trouble finding my WAVES plugins for a while then i saw this menu and saw that the plugins were listed but just not checked, so i checked em, problem fixed.
this should be it, if you haven't already done this.

Audio spectrum trouble

hello, I recently downloaded the trial for adobe after effects and am enjoying it very much. I am having trouble with the audio spectrum effect though, when I drag audio spectrum onto my project, all I see is the background color of that layer. I have adjusted the settings in many different ways and uninstalled and then reinstalled the trial twice now due to this problem. I need to get some answers about this, i've been having the problem for days and have tried many different solutions,

mp3 will work sometimes, it's better to convert them to a .wav file. 48Khz 16 bit linear PCM is the standard production format for video.
In the ECP, the Effects Control Panel (press F3 if you don't see it) you'll see a place to pick the audio source layer. You must apply the effect to a solid layer or footage. If you have applied Audio Spectrum to an audio layer then there will be no place to render the effect because audio does not contain any pixels for the effect to modify.
If you have not already done so please go through at least these training materials: Basic Workflow, It will take you about a half hour.

Audio/mic troubles, Please Read

Ok well I just purchased the 915p mobo for lga pent 4 slot. I'm having some trouble's with the audio driver's. My mic is very low I have the newst driver I do believe (CMI9880Ch70). I am used to a mic boost option seem's this does not come supported on here. I can get my mic loud and clear but only when I have this echoy effect on and it is quite annoying. So I know it is posible to boost the mic output but it is beyond me. Any suggestion you might have or answer would be great. Thanks

Hmm I dont seem to find this feature anywere and the cmi website is useless. Oh well bad choise for msi togo with on the onboard sound.. cheapest isnt always best

Optical Audio Cable Troubles

I recently purchased the the Panasonic G20 50" HDTV and the Panasonic blu-ray/reciever combo with surrond sound. I have the TV connected to the blu-ray player via the HDMI AV, I was told that I needed an optical audio cable to get surround sound from cable (Charter). When i try to connect the optical cable, I can't get a connection as in the cable can literally fall out and there is not a "snap" when I try to insert the cable. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
oh by the way its not the $10 cable, they are monster cables.

My two thoughts are:
1) You're inserting the cable in the wrong orientation and it's not going all the way in
2) The optical connector on the device in question is damaged/defective/loose. Which device is the cable falling out of? The surround receiver, the cable box, or both?
Personally, I'd recommend not wasting your money on Monster ever again by the way. I've seen $4 TOSLINK cables that do just as well as the Monsters.

[SOLVED] Audio setup troubles with usb headphones and built-in sound

I Just started using Arch about a month ago after going through many Debian and Ubuntu variants. After all my frustrations with apt pinning to get working 10bit video playback, only to have everything else uninstalled by crappy dependency checking, I am extremely happy with how easy it was in Arch.
Now I am having difficulties perfecting my audio setup. Almost everything else is set up to satisfactory levels but I have yet to bring the sound to the same standard. With just ALSA my built in audio works, but defaults to the unused hdmi on my nvidia graphics. I have managed to get it to switch at some point but with ALSA alone I could never get my usb headset to work at all.
By using pulseaudio as well I was able to get simutaneous playback, which is ideal, but had choppiness and other issues with just the usb headset. I followed some instructions found on the arch wiki and other places on the net for choppiness in both ALSA and pulse and tried the fixes listed in various combinations. I ended up with outcomes such as pulse not starting, no sound at all, creepy ticking in usb and perfect sound on speakers, and my current situation of perfect sound on speaker and acceptable but tinny sound on usb which degrades over time requiring restart.
Is anyone able to give any advice or point me to any guides I may have overlooked?
Setting up sound from scratch is something I have never done before coming to Arch, so I don't know what commands are useful for audio specifically, but learning is one of the reasons I decided on Arch. As for commands I do know, lspci and lsusb, relevant entries are as follows:

Following this exactly didnt work before, but setting the sample rate to 192000 instead seems to have done the trick

Audio encoding troubles

After some time off, I'm again burning old family vhs and Hi8 tapes to dvd but this time w/our new intel core duo. I've tried varying the themes in iDVD but with some of them I get the spinning beach ball after the video encoding--at the beginning of the audio encoding. It simpy hangs up after about 30 seconds and the dreaded beach ball appears. I've tried to re-burn after splitting the clips so that none are longer than 15 minutes--still no go. I never add music so the only audio is from the original tapes or the default music with associated with the theme. This was never a problem with the dvds I creaed on our G4 using some of the older iDVD themes. Any ideas? thanks

version 5 and has nothing to do with themes. Just
"bad" feedback.

My computer can take up to 30 minutes to get through
this phase, depending on the iDVD project. Takes even
longer for some people; like overnight...
What I've done a few times is "force quit" and start over at the "share iMovie with iDVD" stage. Sometimes, after re-creating the iDVD project with the same Theme settings it whips right through the audio encoding (although it also has had to redo the video encoding first). I get frantic whenever I see the beachball on the screen and my impulse it to force quit whatever application I'm in.

Audio authorization trouble when adding audio to slideshow

I recently started a slideshow on iDVD '08, which by the way is AMAZING, except when I try to drag and drop a purchased audio file from the media browser 2 the editing window, it asks me to authorize the file through iTunes. Thing is, I've authorized my entire music library already, so what gives? I authorize the song file, try to play it in the slideshow, but I get the same message asking me to authorize the song file, again! Help!

Seems to be a recent bug that is effecting many people. The short term work around until Apple fixes the issue is to put your purchased songs in a playlist, burn that playlist out to an Audio CD (a CD-RW might be good for this if you need to do it often), then re-import the song from the burned CD in any format you fish, although AIFF might be best for iDVD use.

Hp dv3 2310er audio driver trouble (windows 7 32bit)

There is no sound after installing IDT Audio Driver which was downloaded from HP Support & Drivers page for my notebook and operating system, but the mute switch still working (turning red when muted and white otherwise).
Sound is working well with default windows high definition audio drivers, but in this case the mute switch doesn't change color.

If not uninstall Your current driver and install this which I posted above.
Go to:
Control Panel -> Devices Manager -> Audio, Video and Games Controllers
click with right button of Your mouse on Your IDT audio card there and choose properties. Then go to ' Details ' tab and paste here Hardware Ids . This way we will know what it is.

Audio Configuration Trouble= No playback!

The following statement is popping up before Itunes opens..."itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration audio/video playback may not operate properly" How do i fix this??

Audio files trouble

When I try to post some Audio file - by dragging content from itunes into the page. After posting the files and everything is fully uploaded the page displays code underneath the Audio and not the play control as it shows before publishing site

I had the same problem, fixed by going to the last instrument in the list and loading it, then it worked. Something seems to be stuck on the initial audio file load, it should be fixed and/or documented.

975x Front Audio panel troubles

I've run into something interesting.
I've not been able to get the front audio connectors on my Antec 900 case to work, although I would heard the front channel through the headjack, the microphone would never work.
The Realtek Audio I/O display would never seem to recognize that something was plugged in so, if I go into the Connector Settings dialog and disable front panel jack detection - then it displays that the headphones AND the microphone are always plugged in - even if they're removed.
Anyways, it works (sorta). I thought that it was a connector problem, but obviously not unless something is wired wrong in the harness from the case.
I'm running the latest official BIOS as well so, well, who knows where the bug is.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Do make sure that you have insert the audio connectors correctly on your motherboard. since your mobo is an intel based one, make sure that your front panel audio is compliant with the intel HD azalia specification.

Audio export trouble with sped up clips

This is primarily and audio / export question. I've edited one source file (that happens to be 4K pro res) into two kinds of clips in one sequence. part of the file is essentially unaltered and runs at 100% speed. the other part of the file I have sped up to 3000% speed. when playing back within premier pro, I hear the audio from clips at both speeds. I want to preserve the 'sped-up' sound of the 3000% speed clips. BUT, when I export (using any compression or settings — I've tried many) the final video has NO sound accompanying to the sped up sections, though the 100% sections do have accompanying sound. I've done some troubleshooting and found that clips sped up between 3000 - 1200% have no sound when exported, while clips sped up to 1000% or slower DO have sound when exported. Can you help me preserve the 3000% speed sound in export?

I have seen similar and my work around was to send the audio to Audition, do the time change, save and then import back into Premiere.

Skype Audio Problems Trouble Shooting

Thank you for your suggestions. I apparently have an unusual problem. I hear the normal sound when skype come on. I also checked speakers and the volumn meter responded. I went to sounds and the sounds played. However, when I tried a test call I could hear nothing. Any other suggestions??Al
