Audio is messed up

When I play my music that I imported from CDS into iTunes, the audio seems like it plays too fast. I've tried the following:
- reinstalling iTunes 8
- installing older versions of iTunes
- deleting iTunes plug-ins
I've tried everything. When is apple going to fix this problem???? If anybody has a way to fix this, then please help me!

Hey aryana.pevensie3,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with audio on the internet. Are these issues isolated to certain websites, or a certain web browser? Does the issue persist in a different web browser?

  • AUDIO ALL MESSED

I've had 2 Zen Micros up 2 this point. The first one i got was from christmas from amazon.com (it was new, out the package & everything), and a month later, the audio is messed up. Every time i tried to listen 2 a song, all i hear is garbled noises, or sound will only come out of one channel. It's not the earphones, cuz i tried over 0 different earphones, even Seinheiser earbuds, and through all of them I hear the same garbled noises instead of my selected song. I returned that one and got a brand new one and 3 weeks later, the same thing happened. Can I get a refund or something cuz this shouldn't happen 2 times in a row, and i'm not gonna see if 3 times is the charm.

  • Audio Conforming messing up audio

So this is the second time this has happened. I start editing a file, cutting up clips, even exporting a few files and everything looks good. I take a short break, five maybe ten minutes, I come back and I play the source file and there's no audio. I look just below the timeline and it says "audio conforming." Ok, so I wait a couple of minutes until it's done. Well now the audio on the original file is out of synch. It skips around. I've tried rebooting and starting the project over, but it's still messed up. Any ideas?

Delete the cache files, then reopen the project so PP can rebuild them.

  • Audio getting messed up in FCP

    Hey all,
I'm putting together a short behind the scenes segment for a film i am crew on at school. The music track comes from video copilots pro scores.
The track (theres two actually, one for orchestra and one for percussion) is too short, so i did some cutting and was able to loop a couple parts and add in a "percussion break". I remember it all being good, then i went to listen to it today.
At one point during the percussion break, the audio "jumps" to another point. It's like i made a cut and forgot to add any kind of transition. If i double click the audio track and listen to it in the viewer, it also has this terrible jump. If i double click it in the assets browser, then it sounds fine. Source file sounds fine as well. The audio is a wav file and is meant for this kind of thing, so i don't know why i'm having this issue.
I included a screenshot so you can see that there are no cuts in the audio at the time that is giving me the problem.
    Thanks for any help,
    Dan

Really?!   I've had this happen quite a bit over the years and many versions.   It seems to only happen with 48k 16bit aiffs, yes, and no, it doesn't seem to be a render problem.   The poster described it exactly as I've seen it on many occasions - it sounds like the track's been jumpcut, or a completely unexpected part of the track will play where it's not supposed to be.   It's not worth fretting about though, as the fix always fixes the problem....just another bug that'll never be fixed now, I guess....

  • Created project in imovie. Trying to move to iDVD to burn. the project in imovies is great. When I view the project in iDVD the audio is messed up. What am I doing wrong?

I created project in imovie 10. When I send it to idvd to burn copy the audio is not in right places. Some muted audio is not muted and other audio clips are with wrong video clips. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Help.

I'm not sure what you mean by iMovie 10 (there is no such version). However, if you mean iMovie '09 (version 8) or iMovie '11 (version 9) there is a fix I can suggest.
If you have used slow motion or fast motion in your video, you MUST use only the presets on the speed slider, which are: 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400% and 800%.
If you have used custom settings by manually entering speed percentages (different to the presets), you will almost certainly experience audio glitches in the exported movie. These glitches are not evident in preview (before sharing) but appear only in the exported movie (as you have experienced).
The fix is to re-visit your project and adjust all speed changes to the preferred preset percentage. This can be a pain, as you may have to re-sync video and audio - but it is the only fix (unless you want to go through a very convoluted process). After adjusting the speeds to the presets, you will of course have to re-export the project.
Note that the glitch is well known in iMovie '09, but may have been fixed in iMovie '11. Which version are you using?

  • HUI ERROR, Audio Tracks messing up

hey guys, i have two erros.
    1. when i first start logic express it tells me it cant find the MODULE HUI, and gives an error. What does this mean? and can i fix it?
    2. In all of my sessions, i have multiple vocals going on. to be exact 24 different vocal tracks, can be happening at once. I have all those tracks routed to BUS 1. But there is a BIG Problem. When in MIXER view, tracks 5-24 dont have anything in them. If that makes sense...picture this:
    when in mixer view:
audio tracks 1-4 show up, meaning EQ's, PLUG INS, FADER CONTROL, and everything is there.
but in audio tracks 5-(on up), there isnt ANYTHING< no EQ window, no fader controls, no Plug In options, NOTHING.
BUT in the ARRANGE view, i can still see the audio wave forms, and when i double click on them to fine edit, i can hear the vocals. BUT when i triy to run the session, there is NO vocals on tracks 5-(on up).
    sooooo, any ideas?!?!?!

    See if this helps:

    Hi mjp80538,
You should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
    If that doesn't work:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
    # In the Filter input field type ''startup''
    # Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    # Delete the text string and click ''OK''
    # Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • IMovie audio issues. Fine in timeline, but when rendering to iTunes or Media Browser, audio from certain portions of movie files are heard in places where it shouldn't be !

iMovie 11  audio issues. Fine in timeline, but when rendering to iTunes or Media Browser, audio from certain portions of movie files are heard in places where it shouldn't be !
I have created a project where I have a montage of photos and video clips edited together with music under. Some audio portions of the video files are being muted in some areas and those portions are being heard in another part of the project. This is not for all video clips only certain ones.
The project plays fine in the timeline, but when I render the project thru iTunes or Media Browser, this is when the project goes corrupt.
I tried detaching the Audio from the video clips and this somewhat worked, but the original problem still exists with certain audio still being heard where it's not supposed to be.

    I have a fix - or rather, a workaround.
WARNING: It is lengthy, but still far better than starting a new project from scratch.
I had this same issue and none of my transitions/clips were at custom speeds, nor did I have anything else weird going on. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do within iMovie to fix this, at least there wasn't for me. iMovie is BY FAR the buggiest software I have ever used and if you haven't already spent hours slaving away on a project, you are so much better off using just about anything else to edit your video.
...But let's assume you have already spent many hours working on your project and you don't want to start all over. Well then, you have at least one option.
It's a pain in the neck, but it's infinitely better than restarting your project from scratch.
    This will require:
A software called Soundflower (which is free) and some kind of audio editing software (I use Logic, but really any should work).
1.) You're going to need to export your video with the messed up audio. Typically if you're audio is messing up, you're video is at least usually working just fine (at least it always does for me).
2.) You're going to need to open that video in your audio software and import only the audio. If your software doesn't give you this option, then you're going to need to record the audio from your video using the audio software and Soundflower. You can find tutorials on how to do this, but it's honestly pretty straightforward once you start playing around with you Mac's audio I/O settings. Remember to have your computer's volume all the way up when doing this.
3.) Watch/listen to your video and make notes of where the audio errors occur. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND writing down times too,  as they will be extremely helpful later.
4.) Now were going to rip some working audio from the iMovie project itself. Go back into your iMovie project and only play back audio while in the edit window for this step. Do NOT play your project back in full screen.
This part is key: if you try to play back your project from the beginning the audio will usually still mess up. So, what you're gonna have to do is go back on your edit window timeline right before these errors occur and play that specific clip back while recording this working audio with Soundflower and your audio software. Essentially we're only recording the parts of the audio where these errors occur, so try to do this in order if you can. Try to leave several seconds of audio in before the error - that way we can use it as reference when we construct our new audio track.
5.) Now in your audio software you should have your original error-filled audio track and the new clips that we just captured. This part can be painstaking if you're not familiar with audio editing softwares, but as you'll learn, it's really not that hard.
You're going to look at your original audio track and compare it to your new working audio clips. You should be able to notice where those new clips are supposed to go by looking at the identical (or close to identical) waveform shapes in your original audio track. The two should correspond with one another. If you don't understand what I mean right now, you will when you start playing around with the audio. This is why marking times is very important.
Take your new clips and split them up if you haven't already, that way you can drag them around and edit them separately from one another. Essentially your going to line these new clips up with original and then replace the original parts with new ones.
We need to get this as precise as possible, so start off by getting them as close as you can with your naked eye, and then use a zoom tool to zoom in as much as possible so that you can get them lined up PERFECTLY, or at least extremely close. In some softwares you can just drag these new clips on top of the old track, but most of the time you will need to actually cut out the old piece and replace it with the new one. In doing this, zoom in and make sure that you are NOT cutting out a bigger space than your new clip will fill - otherwise you will have small gaps in your audio.
VERY IMPORTANT: Also make sure that this new audio track starts at the EXACT SAME time as your original - otherwise your new audio will be out of sync.
I know this part can really suck if you're not used to audio editing, but at this point, there is little other choice.
6.) Once you are done with this, export your newly pieced together audio track.
7.) Now open iMovie and create a NEW project. Re-import the video that you exported earlier that has the messed up audio. This might take a while, so just be patient.
8.) Then right click the clip and select "Detach Audio". This will do just that - allowing you to edit the audio separately from the video. Now delete this audio.
9.) Now, import the new, perfect audio track that we just made and make sure that it starts at the start of the project. Make sure it's in sync and that everything works.
Now just export your new video with the working audio and you should be done. Since we have given iMovie the audio with no editing actually being done in iMovie, it does not have to generate its own audio now and you should have absolutely no errors now - unless there is some that you forgot to take out earlier.
    YOU'RE FINALLY DONE!!!
I know this entire process *****, but if you're that far into your project, there is little else that you can do. Now you've learned your lesson:
    DON'T USE IMOVIE EVER AGAIN.
    I hope this helped!

  • Adobe premiere elements 10  Quality and audio issues

Im using adobe premiere elements 10 and im trying to edit my videos that i got form the elgato ive allays had no problems until two days ago when i import a video to work on it the quality goes to **** and the audio gets messed up  and i when i check the video on elgato its perfect  so something is going wrong and i need your help to fix it.

    op c
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running? And, what video card/graphics card does this computer use? NVIDIA GeForce?
If so, stop and let us know.
From what I have read, if you are using Elgato Video Capture, you are probably working on a Mac computer capturing H.264 or MPEG-4 640 x 480 with AAC audio. Is that correct? If so, what is the file extension of the capture that you put on the Premiere Elements 10 Mac Timeline?
Have you changed any of the default settings for Elgato Video Capture under its preferences?
How does this recent bad video's properties compare with others from the good video with which you had no problems?
What is the project preset that you are setting in either case?
Can you still bring the "good" Elgato captures into a Premiere Elements 10 Mac project and  they are still "good" while the recent ones on that
same Timeline look not so good?

  • I movie w/ spliced pics throw off movie when uploaded to youtube? The pics lag and is now off with the audio. Doesn't happen with video, just pics and it's worse if I splice the pics to fit audio. Suggestions?

This is really annoying. I movie hd works well when compressing it to quicktime and uploading to youtube  but when there's pics involved and I have to slice them to fit audio it messes with the timing in conjunction to the audio. Any ideas? It works fine in quicktime when compressed but once it's uploaded to youtube it acts fishy. Even though it's fine in quicktime it seems to be an issue in I movie and how it's compressed or something.
    I movie HD- 5.0.2
    quicktime player- 7.5.5
    Compression settings
    compression: h.264
    quality: high
    key frame rate:24
    frame rec: yes
    encoding mode: multi pass
    dimensions: 320x 240
    sound
    format: acc
    sample rate: 48.000khz
    channels:mono
    bit rate:64kbps

That's fantastic, worked really well, just like you said. I actually didn't expect such an easy solution to my problem, thanks very much.
It had the added bonus that it allows me to import the files quicker than before to iMovieHD if I am editing them.
    Thanks again

  • Audio problems when exporting

    Hi there.
I'm having trouble exporting my video file. The resulting .mp4 has audio that is screeching. See video below, password 'audio55'.
    Private Video on Vimeo
The problem arose when I updated from Leopard to Yosemite on my imac. The audio was messed up upon export whether I used CS5 or CC. So I used Time Machine to jump back to a date before I upgraded to Yosemite and now I'm exporting from CS5 again, using OS X 10.6.8 (Leopard) and the same issue still happens, as shown in the video.
I have been using this footage (AVCHD) with the same sequence settings for years. There is one error that pops up before I open the project, that the Scratch disks are write protected or unavailable and that they need to be set to my documents folder, which I 'ok'.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi there
I've seen others report that it's helpful to adjust the audio so that each slide doesn't begin playing audio until .2 or .3 seconds into the slide.
Perhaps try that and see how you fare.

  • Editing FCE audio with Garage Band?

I've never tried to edit FCE audio with anything except FCE itself and SoundSoap. Can Garage Band edit FCE audio without messing up the video? I seem to recall trying to edit FCE audio with Audacity once, but lost the video information when I saved the edit. I never tried it again. It would be nice to be able to cut and past a bit of ambient room noise to cover some unwanted audio.

    Martin,
I thought I'd tried that before and was not successful. I'll try again. And I'll resolve to be more persistent and not give up at the first obstacle.
I recall seeing a tutorial of SoundTrack Pro where you could copy and replace a bit of audio. I suppose that's too much to ask of FCE or the now departed SoundTrack?

  • Audio Correction, need some assistance

    Good day all,
I've got a noob question to ask, but how do I properly implement a dynamic processor or level limiter on FCP 5.0? I'm dealing with some footage of a vocal performance with piano accompaniment that wasn't mic'd very well, thus causing a problem between the highs and lows. It's really all over the place. I've been directed to using a compressor or limiter, but I'm not exactly an audio guru by any stretch so I was hoping someone could spare some advice. I've tried using the Apple "AUDynamicsProcessor" filter and the Final Cut "Compressor/Limiter" filter, but I'm not having much success. I move the attack and threshold levels around, but I'm not hearing it make any difference. I have Soundtrack Pro if you think it would be better to move the audio and mess with it there.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kyle

That's the trouble with comps, you won't hear the difference, if you use meters you will see the difference. What you are tryinng to do with comps are make the highs squished so they don't rattle your speakers and send things into "clip" and at the same time bring up any quite whispers to an audible level. First off, don't expect it to polish a t**d, it will only smear the surface! Comps are very useful but can be really difficult to use. I would suggest that you could try using Soundtract Pro to "normalize" the tracks which gives you a best track scenario to work from, then go from there!
