Audio problem- Multiple songs playing at once

Hello,
I have a problem with playing a song. Everything seems fine
until the song reaches about half way and then the same song starts
playing ontop of the same song. First you hear the song, then you
hear two songs, then three, and so on.
What am I doing wrong? I can't figure it out. Any help would
be great.

I would say that if you want the song to loop that it may be
better to use a Sound Object and a little code. so if you would be
interested in this route - remove the sound from the timeline.
first - set up the sound by selecting it in the library and
right-click select 'properties...' - then in the properties panel
check the 'export for ActionScript' box and give the sound an
'Indentifier' name - this will allow you to use the sound file
within the document and point to it in code by using the ID name.
next - make a new layer called 'actions' on the main timeline
if you don't have one already - select the first frame and enter
the code below - replace the 'IDname.mp3' with the ID name of your
sound file you've assigned.
see the 'sound.start()' method below - the second parameter
in it refers to the amount of 'loops' that it will run before
stopping - you can set this any way you would like.

Duplicate texts, and multiple songs playing at once

This has happened a couple of times now. If I need to restart my phone for any reason, my phone resends old texts. I am not sure if my phone is defective or if there is maybe a setting I can change?
And now a new problem. I was trying to listen to music through bluetooth, in my car and it started playing 2 songs at the same time.

Multiple songs playing at once!

If you get a song within 1-2 seconds of completion, and you press the left arrow key (to go back to the start), it starts playing the song over, as well as playing the next song in the playlist simultaneously!

Audio problem-- converting song to AIFF doesn't stop pops and cracks!!

i've converted mp3s to AIFF both thru itunes and quicktime. when i import them to my FCP HD timeline, they still sound distorted-- with the same cracks and slowness as it does when i try to play an mp3 without converting the song format.
i have made settings 48/16bit to match my footage.
why isn't this working? any tips?

thanks for trying to help. i'm still having the audio problem-- the aiffs sound clean in both quicktime and itunes, crackly and distorted in fcphd.
my fcp sequence setting is for 1080i/60 HDV 29.97fps with audio set to 48khz/16bit stereo.
any ideas would be appreciated!

I have had two instances of having a downloaded album "scrambled" while playing on appletv, I.e. the track listing remaining correct but having the wrong songs play. Once this has occurred the album does not play correctly. Any help with this issue?

I am having problems with Apple TV scrambling albums while playing from iTunes. The track listing remains correct but the songs play out of order and not all of the songs seem to in place, I.e. a song that played previously under one title will play as a different title. Any thoughts or help? Thanks.

Are you seeing your music listed in the iPod screen, or in Win explorer as in your earlier post?
I can see all the songs in my Edrive>al's Ipod> Ipod Control> Music folder.
A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
You can try to borrow and use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile.

I updated my imac, ipad1 and iphone to ios5 and I can not get it to sync with itunes properly.
First attempt all my music seemed to go over but hardly any of the cover art,
deleted all the music and then retryed it appeared to go on the same, rather strangly the same few coverarts seemed to be on the ipad but now when i touch a sing a completely different random song plays,,,,,any suggestions?

I experienced a similar issue after updating to iTunes 10.5 and my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. Here's what I did to resolve the issue:
Connect your device
Click on your device on the left side of iTunes
Click the "Music" tab at the top of the screen
Uncheck "Sync Music"
Click the "Sync" button to sync your device
After syncing has completed, check "Sync Music"
Click "Sync" button again to sync your device
The steps outlined above worked for me and all my tunes and cover art are in order again. Hope it works for you!

Making multiple songs play during a slideshow

I have a slideshow I created in iDVD 6 that is approximately 35 minutes. I would like to have several different songs cycle through as the slideshow runs. I created a playlist in iTunes with the songs I want. When I'm editing the slideshow and I click the media button and then the audio button, it gives me my iTunes song list, but not any of the playlists I've created in iTunes. What am I doing incorrectly? As it is, I can only get a single song to play on a loop during the slideshow. Thanks for any guidance.

Welcome to discussions, Chris
Burn your Playlist to an audio CD.
Then open that CD in iTunes.
Highlight all of the songs.
Go to Advanced and select Join CD Tracks.
That will make one long song in your iTunes library that you can import into your project.

Problem with song playing...

Hey everyone...I'm trying to lay down a song to play with my movie and a window keeps popping up saying that the song is not authorized to play on this computer. I purchased the song from iTunes and I go ahead and authorize it and it keeps popping back up not allowing me to hear the song. Keep in mind this is my laptop that has all of my songs on it from iTunes so I don't know why I would be getting this error message. Thanks in advance...

Can iMovie makes videos with multiple different video playing together as one? Because I am doing this vocal thing while I need multiple records down together as they play. If iMovie doesn't do the job, what other programs can I try?

Multiple Keynotes play at once???

Here is the situation. I support an art department. One of the profs wants to be able to play two keynotes at the same time on one computer through two projections systems at the same time. He wants to do compare/contrast of two images. Putting both images in one slide in one Keynote is not satisfactory for him because the images are not projected large enough. Is what he wants possible? In essence I would have three displays for the Mac as an extended desktop. What do I need to extend the desktop to three monitors total. (the projectors we have are VGA connectors) Will it take a second video card? Is there a video switch box that will do it?

Double the width of your Keynote presentation. (eg. if your current presentation is 800x600, customize it to 1600x600. Then you could put the images side by side on the same Keynote slide, but each would appear on its own projector.
Not a perfect solution, but it might help.

Multiple programs playing sound

I'm having a problem with multiple sounds playing at once. I guess it's not really a problem... more of an inconvenience.
I'm trying to setup awesome, and I can't play music and watch mplayer at the same time. Why would I want to do that? I have no idea, but I want to be able to
I just booted into KDE, and there isnt a problem, I can have amarok, mpd, and mplayer all playing things at the same time. I'm guessing this has to do with the arts server in kde? How would one go about having it work in awesome? I've read the wiki about multiple sounds playing at once, but that didn't help.

Actually that probably is the problem... I noticed that mplayer was using oss to play files. But mpd uses alsa, so shouldnt they be able to co-mingle?
UPDATE: That fixed it! Weird that mplayer would use alsa by default in kde and oss by default here? Just one more question, is there a way to set mplayer's default to alsa?

Satellite L50-A-19N can't play audio from multiple sources

I can't play audio from multiple sources. This is very annoying when I have 2 youtube videos playing, if I start playing something on the media player, there is no sound on media player, it's the same when I have 2 media players open and 1 youtube video playing, youtube video doesn't have sound..
It goes away when I plug out my headphones..
I already have all the latest drivers, last DTS driver update was in 2014, sound update this year's february..

I don't know if this makes sense, but I got newer DTS sound driver which I found, It's not my laptop model, but they all seem to be the same - v1.1.88.0
I uninstalled DTS software and still had the same problem, so it's not affecting sound driver in any way..

2nd is my speakers advanced settings, nothing changed when I disabled "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"

I see that the option called “give exclusive mode applications priority” has been checked.
Usually different applications and programs can access the sound card simultaneously.
For example: you can hear the sound in game, while you can run your own music via an external player.
This is prevented with these options “give exclusive mode applications priority”.
Maybe you should disable (uncheck) this option to prevent the different applications for using this exclusive mode stream.
I did it for my DAC. I set the DAC for exclusive mode. Once my audio playback software starts to play music, no other software is able to share the DAC.
However, I use Win 7 and Realtek sound driver… It’s another configuration.
So it’s not known to me if your issue is related Win 8.1 system or maybe limitation of sound driver… it could be also possible that one of your sound applications don’t allow multiple sound streaming.

Problems importing and playing songs from an external cd/dvd drive

I am having problems importing songs on my PC from an external usb drive. What I have is an external combo usb firewire drive hooked up to my pc with a usb cable. (usb 2.0) When I launch itunes, it sees the cd I have loaded but when I go to import the songs, itunes just pops past each song in a second like each song was just a second in length. Then I have some corrupt file in my itunes library. Itunes gets the cd names and titles from CDDB correctly but can't play the songs or import them. I use this pc solely for playing audio, it is a Pentium 4 2.6 with 1GB of ram with build in usb 2.0 on the motherboard. There is no other software installed on the system other then virus software. When I use Windows Media Player the cd is read perfectly fine. I even play DVDs off the drive with no problems too. This problem in intermittent, with different cds. These are all commercial cds not burnt ones that someone made for me. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Toonz - I have exactly the same problem when trying to import songs - itunes does recognise the cd drive and names of tracks etc - it just won't play more than one second of each, or import any more. i did run the cd diagnostic check you suggested - results below - don't mean anything to me i'm afraid - any bright ideas?
this was a christmas present and i haven't managed to put any new music on apart from what was already on our pc, so am v sad and hope you can make it better....

Problems w/ continuous play & next/prev. song controls

i am having large issues with the next and previous song controls. the controls in the top left corner to the right and to the left of the play/pause button only stop the current playing song when pressed, and when i press the left/right arrow keys on my computer keyboard to move to the next song, the current playing song also stops instead of working correctly.
to make matters worse, when a song in my library finishes playing, it does not go to the next song and begin play like it should, it only stops the music much like what happens when you try to manually go to the next song. i cant get any continuous playback of multiple songs and cant swith from song to song without double clicking with a mouse. can anyone fix this problem?

No problems ... I have the exact parallel problem with remembering the Mac key combo for this one.

How do you apply multiple songs or audio clips to one slideshow?

I created a large project, 200+ slides. I wanted to to use multiple songs so when one ends a new one comes on. Everytime a dragged a new audio clip from Itunes it just replaced the other song.

You have to make one "song' in iTunes that includes all the songs you want to play.
