Australia map eclipse

Hi all,
I was hoping someone had some time to quickly help me.
I need to have an animated eclipse effect around a map of
australia.
I can do an awesome one using a sphere and flash. I have a
black bacjground, then a black sphere.

I put a gradient filled sphere behind the black sphere that
goes from middle green to outer black.
Then when i animate the gradient shere from very small to
just bigger than the sphere it is behind, you get a nice glow
around the black sphere infront that makes it look like the sun has
got brighter behind it showing off the front spheres shape slowly.
A bit clique but looks cool all the same.
So .. What I want to do is replicate that effect using a map
of australia BUT the gradient only works on spheres and it can't
understand complex shapes. So I guess that is not the way to go.
Do you have any suggestions ? After Effects, Flash etc.
Can I make a custom shape gradient in flash 8 ?

You should be able to install the Australian maps from the software supplied with the phone on the DVD, and then you can activate it buying a licence to activate it through the "Extras" selection in the Options menu in the Route 66 software.

Pre-loaded Australia Map in 6110 Navigator

Hi All,
I have 6110 Navigator which was bought from Singapore. It came with a pre-loaded Singapore map, which isn't much use for me here in Oz so I deleted it.
Now I have a few questions
(1) How do I get the Australian map into this phone, as if it came pre-loaded like other 6110 Navigtor in Australia?
(2) Where does the pre-loaded map reside? In the memory card or phone?
(3) Do I need to pay for a licence to use the pre-loaded map?
(4) Do I need to flash my 6110 to get it with the pre-loaded Australia map? If so how do I do that?

6110 Pre-installed Australia Map

Hey guys. I've managed to delete the preinstalled Australia map from my 6110 navigator.
The first time I used the Route 66 software, I deleted all of the other language voices to save space on the SD card, and at the same time must have had the Australia map checked.
I've reinstalled the Australia map to the phone via the Route 66 software, however it's now locked and needs a license, which they want to charge me 49.95 euros for. How do I get my original map and/or license back?

Thanks for th info Patc, but the phone is brand new, so I haven't even had a chance to sync it with anything yet. I got it in Brisbane on Thursday, but was away on holiday, and only just got back to my computer. I was looking forward to playing around with it properly, but managed to somehow stuff it.
So, basically I don't have any backups, new or old. I should have backed up the phone with the Route 66 program as soon as I connected it, but didn't. Thanks for the suggestion though, if anyones got any other ideas, I'd be grateful beyond measure!

I try to use the Map in Australia by siri , but Siri didnt support in Australia map . It only support in US. But i purchase 4s in Aus, how can i fix the Siri?

I'm not sure what the situation is like for you since I don't live in Australia, but I know that Siri is still in beta and I believe will gain support for more countries and languages as Apple updates it. That's only my best guess, but I might have seen it somewhere. I know Apple is working on support for the iPhone in many more countries by the end of the year.

OSB - Xquery - Eclipse shows warning when a repeating node is repeated

Hi,
I have a requirement where a node needs to be repeated. This cannot go into a FOR LOOP as data to be mapped to Target XSD, are constants.
For this, I repeated the node, by just changing the data in the Name and Value field. When I do this, eclipse, shows me a warning and highlights all the lines. Next time, when I switch to design view and add some direct mapping, eclipse warns me and on proceeding, removes all the lines with warning. Any help, on how I should attempt to solve this issue.
Give below is the example xquery. Target has the node defined as repeating.

design mode is OK until you start customizing by hand your xquery... if you muck around the mapping sometimes is lost.
I would suggest you to complete your mapping by hand!

hey guys,
im curious to see if anyone has actually bought the seperate maps for the navigator?
as i was wondering is the sydney map just a "part" of the australia map in total?
ie if i have the australia map it actually has all of the sydney map, brisbane map, melbourne map etc or the Sydney map is a map with extras in it, a updated item perhaps. as i was considering buying it, but if i have the same things on my Australia 07 map then it wont be worth it

yes it is just a part of the australia map. if you got australia-map it is nonsense to buy city-maps that are located in australia.

Purchasing map connection error

Hey guys, when i first got my N82 phone about 2 months ago i purchased purchased navigation for a week and downloaded the Australia maps. Everything pretty much worked fine.. at the time i purchased the navigation license using a WLAN connection.
Now when i try to purchase further navigation, and it tries connecting to the server, i keep getting connection errors, after the 'updating software' screen. I've tried using WLAN, mobile internet connection, and pretty much any other one possible.
Anyone got the same problem or a solution?

One solution may be to try out Nokia Maps 2.0 here:

It is a new installation so will require setting up a network connection afresh.
Another solution might have been to hard reset your N82 so returning to "factory settings" provided essential phone data is backed up first.

Map Manager 1.1 on E90

I posted this same request in the E series board, before I realised that there is a forum dedicated to this. Sorry about that.
Here we go...
Has anyone got Map Manager working? How does it work? What does it do?
I have Nokia Suite 7.0.7.0 installed on Win XP Pro.
Do I have to have the phone connected via USB in Data mode or PC Suite mode?
I have "My Maps Folder" set to
G:\Installs\Nokia E90\Maps 2.0\Maps
(this directory is empty)
I have my "Searching in root folder" set to
G:\Installs\Nokia E90\Maps 2.0
(this directory has the Maps 2.0 installs etc)
My Phone is connected (in Data Suite mode), it shows the memory available, I have used Nokia Map Loader 2.0.2 to download and install Australia maps, they seem to be there when I run Maps 2.0 (Nokia_Maps_2.0_2204_3.1_u.sis) on my E90 (FW Version 07.24.0.3)
I just see nothing in the Map Manager.
Am I missing something?

Map manager is for the nokia 6110 navigator for it's route 66 maps. It is useless on other models. Only maploader works with nokia maps.

The map manager is for the 6110nav only. This is because it uses route 66 for it's navigation not nokia maps.

No 3D buildings in nokia maps 3.0

iv downloaded the entire australia maps on my mem card, and using ovi maps 3 on my phone, but i cant see any 3D buildings. is this because its not included in the maps from maps loader. i also went online to see if this was the case and still no 3D buildings wen i switch to 3D mode. any clues?

As my colleague explained, what used to be a single application "Nokia Maps" in some of our earlier products is now split into two separate apps:
Nokia Maps is centred around walk navigation and helping you to find places of interest.
Nokia Drive is centred around use as an in-care navigation tool.
Satellite mode has always been a service that downloads the individual map data automatically from the internet when needed because the satellite data is too large to have an entire country map downloaded to a phone. It is therefore not practical for in-car user when you are travelling fast and data has to be repeatedly downloaded as you move from one map cell to another over great distances, it is also potentially expensive in terms of data charges which would be a turn-off for most users Additionally, for safety reasons the app being used whilst driving needs to be clear and simple in order that your attention is not needlessly distracted from the road ahead.
As already mentioned, the Nokia Maps app is where your find the satellite view, where data consumption considerations are less vital because (1) you have less need to view very large areas, and (2) youare also likely to have the option of using a wireless network and thus avoiding data charges altogether, and where you can focus on the extra detail offered by satellite imagery without endangering your personal safety.

Free Navigation for Nokia 6700 Classic

Hi everyone,
I notice the recent Nokia announcement that navigation is now free on all it's S60 based phones.
However, I just purchased a new Nokia 6700 Classic (Which has built in A-GPS, Nokia Maps pre-loaded & full offline Australia maps), but it runs S40 Software.
At the moment it appears Nokia still wants to charge me for turn-by-turn voice navigation. It seems a little unfair that the free navigation will only be offered on the S60 handsets when all Nokia have to do is send a free license code to S40 maps users to enable us to do the same.
I'm currently using 'We-Travel' on my Nokia 6700 which is a free 'Offline' GPS application. I'd much prefer to use Nokia's own maps software for navigation, but it's too expensive.
Does Nokia have any intention of making the free navigation available on the 6700 classic, or will users of non-S60 handsets still have to pay for this function?

Gah - Fireworks into Dreamweaver help

Ive done it before. What i have is a map of queensland
(australia), and on particular sections there are drop down flashy
menus that show the names of cities. I have linked all the cities
and such to websites, now its a matter of uploading it to
dreamweaver. Everytime i export to dreamweaver, and then Import
Fireworks HTML on dreamweaver, the splices appear perfectly fine,
but the map of queensland doesnt appear at all. instead, i get
stupid little 'broken image' symbols.
I dont know what is so different to this from last week. last
week i did the same thing, except with an australia map, and it
worked perfectly fine.
What am i doing wrong?!

Custom code does not work

I’d like to know how can I process the request (the number of customers) from client application to SOAP request.
My requirement is to connect SOAP WebService to client with Integration Gateway in SMP3 SP06.
SOAP service is provided by RFC. I checked the following blog and created function module.

At that time, I couldn’t see the Service Document of my OData service. So I added custom script to pass the Basic Authorization and input parameter.

does not work. I thought I could see 5 customers information in the service document but I could see all the customers information.

4GB sandisk micro SDHC card for 6110

I have purchased the 4gb Sandisk card believing it is compatible.
I have copied old (512mb) card memory & 'phone memory to computer, removed old card, installed & formatted new card & restored info.
My problem is that even though the 'phone is showing 3.8gb of memory when I try & load maps of Europe (1.8gb) the message is "not enough memory" & even though the 'phone says "maps loaded" (when referring to the old Australia map) when I try & search an address it says "no search results. Please check your search string" & "streets not digitised" when looking at map outline.
It would seem the new card is not being recognised?

When you copied the stuff off the old card did you enable the display of hidden and system files? If not, there's your answer.
