Authenticate ADF application using adf security wizard against LDAP OID

I have an adf application which i intend to authorise using LDAP. For now , i have actually hand coded in java for authenticating the users of my application. Using JNDI I directly connect to LDAP and authenticate users. However , recently it came to my notice that i can also do that using ADF sercurity wizard , but i am unable to do so. which securing the ADF application ,no where in the wizard LDAP configuration is mentioned. do i have to change some file manually ? i have no idea on how to proceed on that.

i have setup wls , making th OIDAuthentication as Sufficient. but i dont know how to configure from ADF side so that it can authenticate against LDAP. when i try the ADF sercurity wizard option , it tells me to create new Roles . Is there any way where i can import the ldap credentials to the security wizard ..?

  • Problem in navigation of portletized JSf application using ADF on portal

    Hi All,
    I am implementing a simple scenario wherein i have an ADF Business Component (a simple drop down) and a command button. On click of the button, there is a navigation from one jsp to another.
    I am able to portletize a simple application using ADF Business Component.It runs fine when run on local.
    But when i put it on portal, navigation does not work.the control is not transferred to the method of backing bean.It is not showing loggers either.
    jdev version :10.1.3.3
    oracle portal :10.1.4
    Standalone OC4j : 10.1.3
    If any one has working model of this, can you pls post the files used.
    Also , if anyone has work around for same, it will be helpful.Thanks.

  • Building ADF  application Using Maven

    I have a requirement to build the Adf application using Maven.
    My JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.3 and I imported the Maven plugins.
    When I create the new Fusion application , pom.xml is getting created in model project but not in viewcontroller project. Any reason for that?
    Please help me to point to the right article and example to build Adf application using Maven?

    User,
    While you can build an ADF app using Maven, it's nowhere near easy or automated in terms of getting started. There are a few people who are doing it, but they have invested a lot of effort including:
    * loading the ADF libraries into their corporate repositories
    * re-structuring their ADF projects to match the Maven directory standard (or customizing their POMs)
    * Hand-building POMs for their ADF apps
    Most or all of the people that I know who are doing this are doing all of these things without the benefit of the Maven integration provided in JDeveloper. If you have a search of this forum and the [url https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/adf-methodology]ADF EMG, you can find plenty of discussions about this. There's no "step-by-step" guide that I know of, and it will definitely take you quite a bit of effort to get started. The Maven integration in JDeveloper is still in developer preview mode, and in my opinion, isn't ready for prime time - at least not with respect to ADF projects.

  • How to remotely deploy adf application using ant script

    Please suggest some pointer on how to remotely deploy adf application using ant script.
    I have created automatic inbuild ant script using jdevloper and ojdeploy that create a war file into my adf application deploy folder.
    Now i want my war to be deploy remotely on weblogic server.
    Is there any inbuld functionality provided by jdeveloper for same.
    Can any one please share build.xml for adf application for deploying application remotely.
    I try to use wlserver but not much success.
    Thanks in advance.

    Have you tried to call ojdeploy directly instead of using the ojdeploy task?
    I remember that the ant task has had some bugs. You can use the exec task and execute ojdeploy directly. Then you don't even need to include the path elements as you use the jdev project which includes all the information.
    ojdeploy.executable=path_to_your_jdev_installation/jdev/bin/ojdeploy.exe
        <target name="ojdeploy" description="execute ojdeploy">
                <exec executable="${ojdeploy.executable}" dir="."

                    <arg value="-buildfile"/>
                    <arg value="${build.filename}"/>
                </exec>
        </target>

  • How to build ear files for ADF application using Ant task

    How to build ear files for ADF applications using Ant. The ojdeploy ant task can not find application-level deployment profiles. I am trying to automated build and release for ADF application.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Shiva

    Hi Timo
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have successfully created ear file using ojdeploy on jenkins. however when am trying to auto deploy using WLDeploy ant task am getting the following
    error :
    weblogic.application.ModuleException: :oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/oracle/webcenter/quicklinks/scopedMD" mapped to metadata-store-usage "WebCenterFileMetadataStore" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration
    Please advise how to handle this.
    As am a newbie to ADF, could you please advise if it is possible for the ADF application deployments can be automated for different environments using jenkins due to this MDS dependencies.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

  • ADF without using ADF-Faces

    I'm starting a new project and I want to combine the use of ADF without using adf-faces in other words I want to connect to the Oracle data base through ADF while building my own beans.

    Well I'm still having problems with "ADF without using ADF-Faces" so I went back and found documentation:
    Oracle® Application Development Framework
    Developer’s Guide
    10g Release 3 (10.1.3)
    B25386-01
    However I came to point where I was confused with the TopLink documentation on 3.7 Querying Objects where it said:
    You cannot configure the sort criteria of a TopLink query from Oracle JDeveloper. You
    must write a Java method, using descriptor amendment method. See Section 3.3.3.2,
    "Using Amendment Methods" for more information.
    I find this hard to fathom would you not want to sort the dataset on a JSF table?
    The link takes you to a statement that has nothing to do with Sorting.

    I already set the value for jbo.server.internal_connection and then deployed to Weblogic Server. When I was tested the application, all the records from table had shown on the screen but I found the application can't insert row to table PS_TXN. I I want to know it always happened?
    Herewith I attach the detail log from log file which was generated by Weblogic Server:

  • Error while deploying adf application using ant script or jdevloper IDE

    Hi All,
    While deploying adf application into cluster weblogic server I am getting strange error though my weblogic server is working fine as I checked it from weblogic console. Seems that there is some heap memory issue but don’t know the exact cause as it work perfectly if I restart the server.
    Same error i get when i try to deploy application from Jdeveloper IDE though it created the server connection successfully.
    Please help me by provided valuable tips to overcome this problem or any special tips to optimize weblogic server for ADF.
    Thanks in advance

    Note: In its current stage Oracle Java Cloud Service runs WebLogic Server 10.3.6 with the appropriate Runtime ADF 11.1.1.6. Deployment of ADF 11gR2 Applications is currently not supported. Beside this limitation some ADF Features are not supported on the Oracle Cloud. According to the Oracle Cloud Documentation it is not supported to use the following ADF features
    ADF Desktop Integration
    ADF mBean
    ADF MDS (Seeded customizations or cross-session personalization)
    ADF Mobile
    ADF Active Data Services (=> No real-time ADF Web Apps in Oracles Cloud)
    ADF Business Components services interfaces (web services) or events
    ADF Data Controls for BI, Essbase, BAM, and JMX
    Further there are some restrictions which are good to know I think
    No Java Mail API (=>Sending Mails is prohibited)
    No File system access by deployed applications (=>Writing files is prohibited)
    No Direct use of Oracle JDBC Driver APIs
    No Java Message Service (JMS)
    Max Size for deployment archive 95MB

  • Packaging ADF application using scripts

    How i can package a adf application in ear using ant / maven script?

    It's common requirement in this forum to post which version of JDev you're using.
    If you're using JDev 11g, look for the ojdeploy documentation on creating ADF Libraries.
    For general EAR/WAR construction consult publicly available Ant documentation.
    Unfortunately I can't comment on Maven, though I note a number of bloggers are currently working on it's integration with JDev 11g: http://biemond.blogspot.com/2010/05/deploy-to-weblogic-with-maven.html

  • Authenticate SSAS user using ADFS

    Hi,
    We have developed some SSAS cubes, but client is not able to access then as the client is on a different domain. We need to expose our OLAP services over HTTPS and authenticate client using ADFS claims.
    Please let me know if this is possible, and how to host/ setup OLAP services over HTTPS using IIS.
    Regards,
    Ritesh

    Hi Ritesh,
    According to your description, the users and the SQL Server Analysis Service server are not on the same domain, what you want is that let user enable browse the cube data, right?
    In this case, here is a blog which describe how to connecting to SQL Server Analysis Services using a Different Domain Account that the user currently log on (SSAS on Different Domain and the user logon to another Domain), please see:

  • Auto deploy ADF application using Ant

    Hi
    I am trying to write an Ant script, which compile application, create domain, configure domain, boot server and deploy oracle ADF application. Please advice how to do this.
    I am using Jdeveloger 11g and weblogic 11 g
    Thanks
    Anbu

    Anbu,
    that's quite a task ;-)
    All this can be done. Essentially you can use ojdeploy to compile a project and deploy it to an ear. You can use WLST to write scripts to create and configure a domain. A shell script then can start the nodemanager and all other servers you need (e.g. the new domain you created). The last part is to deploy the app.
    Beside the ojdeploy all this is beyond this forum :-(
    For WLST look in {forum:id=598} and the docs of cause.

  • Monitoring ADF Application using EM ?

    Hi,
    What information can we gather for a particular ADF application which is deployed as a Jar ? Like the response time for each of the application page & break down of the request to each ADF page in an Application. Are there are references available ?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
    I have created web service with data control by providing this WSDL
    http://SERVER_NAME/PWA_INSTANCE/_vti_bin/psi/project.asmx?WSDL and some objects and service methods are genreated. Service method has parameters.
    How I can use this parameters of service methods to read the data from sql server database and how I can write data back into databases.
    When I am dropping this parameter as ADF Parameter form is just input text box without any values. Please give me some direction or links for code I can use to implement the application.
    Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Thank you,

  • Tutorial for Building Mobile Web Applications Using ADF/BC4J-problem

    This is the tutorial for:
    Develop a offline, Web-based Disconnected Mobile application
    Trying to create an offline mobile application using jdeveloper & oracle lite. I want to be able to update the home database after using the application in a disconnected fashion. I do not have a web site, nor is that a feasible option.
    Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4 which should be OK as it is higher than the release specified in the tutorial.
    webtogo
    oraclie lite 10
    oracle 10.
    I have tried to follow the tutorial completely and I can not get this to connect from webtogo. It runs fine in the jdeveloper usising the container. I created the war file, did the wtg packaging process, opened the mobile manager and published the application & granted access to user 'john'. The samples provided work fine. The new application appears on the webscreen after installing web 0c4j. When I click on it, the address toolbar shows:
    http://localhost/webtogo/bc4jtutorial/faces/CustomerOrders.jsp
    When it installed mobile client, it installed the CustomerOrders.jsp into:
    E:\mobileclient\mobile_client_oc4j\j2ee\mobileclient\applications\mobileclient\bc4jtutorial
    an example of the samples that work shows
    http://localhost/webtogo/sample6/list
    in the browser address line.
    Which looks like it's really
    E:\mobileclient\mobile_client_oc4j\j2ee\mobileclient\applications\mobileclient\samples\sample6
    on the file system
    Any one have any ideas? I'll take another solution if someone has found one. However, i am not a great java programmer so thought jdeveloper was great to create forms and access the database.

  • Help required building ADF-Swing/ADF-Faces using ADF Business Components

    My question is in regards to how you can go about building a light swing application to an ADF model?
    In particular if I were to say that we were developing a 3-tier project whereby we had a database tier, a series of EJB-ADF façade session beans to the database (middle-tier), and a swing client communicating with the session beans (view-controller tier), how would you go about developing these screens?
    In particular can we develop these screens using ADF-Faces and also ADF-Swing?
    The EJB session façade beans of course are ADF app modules with customised methods. The methods would return back customised DTO objects. These DTO objects are wrappers to row objects ADF would create. This would be mainly due to making these facade beans web service enabled (Oracle state that these methods cannot return oracle.jbo objects if they are to be web service enabled).
    This would be typically deployed to an app server, like Oracle App Server 10G.
    Could you please have a look at this, as I am doing a lot of research into this.
    eg. Taking example from oracle magazine sept/oct 2006
    with slight enhancements
    package oramag.frameworks.example.common;
    import oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule;
    import oramag.frameworks.customdto.EmployeeDTO;
    public interface HRService extends ApplicationModule {
    void deleteCurrentEmpAndCommit();
    EmployeeDTO findEmployee(int employeeId); // new method
    import oramag.frameworks.customdto.EmployeeDTO;
    public class HRServiceImpl extends ApplicationModuleImpl {
    public void deleteCurrentEmpAndCommit() {
    Row empRow = getEmpView().getCurrentRow();
    if (empRow != null) {
    empRow.remove();
    getDBTransaction().commit();
    public EmployeeDTO findEmployee(int employeeId)() {
    EmployeeDTO employeeDTO = null;
    EmployeesImpl employees = getEmployees();
    employees.setNamedWhereClauseParam("EmployeeId", employeeId);
    employees.executeQuery();
    if(employees.hasNext()) {
    EmployeesRowImpl employee = (EmployeesRowImpl)employees.next();
    employeeDTO = new EmployeeDTO(employee);
    return employeeDTO;
    public EmployeesImpl getEmployees() {
    return (EmployeesImpl)findViewObject("Employees");
    Now given the above code snippet, how could you turn this into an ADF-Swing/ADF Faces application so that if a user using the swing application enters an employee id, then the application will execute the query on the app server, the app server in turn returns the results to the client, and the client finally display the results. Typical MVC example.
    Cheers
    Rodney

    The tutorial is for ADF BC used with JavaServer Faces.
    While the tutorial doesn't cover it, we also support drag and drop development for Swing and visual WYSIWYG layout for Swing panels and windows, too. For a very simple example, watch screencast #4 on my blog here:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2005/06/24/jdeveloperAdfScreencasts.html
    One thing I have noticed is that when using ADF business components, when the app module returns a custom DTO object like the above example, it returns the data in a element structure according to the data control palette.
    You don't generally ever need to create your own custom DTO's when working with ADF for use by client UI's. The only situation where can be necessary -- until we simplify this in the JDeveloper/ADF 11g release -- is when you desire to expose custom methods that can return sets/arrays of typed row structures through a web service. However, web services are not involved/required in building 3-tier Swing applications.
    When dropping onto a page it does so like a string and doesnt give option to display the data in a read only form etc. Is there anything we need to do, to get the functionality.
    It's more of what you don't need to do :-)
    Just leverage the active data model that the ADF application module provides. You can read more about it in section 4.5 "Understanding the Active Data Model" of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers on the ADF Learning Center at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/learnadf.html). Your UI's bind to view object instances in the data model, and your UI's are automatically kept up to date without needing to write methods that return data. I short article I wrote that preceeded my writing the ADF Developer Guide content on this topis is here:
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2006/01/26/theAdfBusinessComponentsActiveDataModel.html
    I know that when dropping a view object you get this functionality. Also was wondering if we were to pass an object of thios type back to the model it might not give us the rich functionality like input forms, like what Oracle provides if we were to drop a enitity view object.
    Just use the active data model and everything becomes totally easy, with no changes required to switch between local or three-tier deployment configurations.
    Trying to do everything with hand-coded DTO beans is really going the hard way.
    Could you help us regarding this?
