Authenticating a user in the specified organization
Hi,
I try to create a custom organization login page.
A copied the login.jsp, LDAP.xml etc. files to the default/orgname directory (unchanged), and when I try to log in
http://www.domain.com/amserver/UI/Login?org=orgname I get a page cannot be found error.
The http://www.domain.com/amserver/UI/Login is ok,
the http://www.domain.com/amserver/UI/Login?org=wrongorgname responds with "No such organization found".
The User Profile attribute in the Core Authentication Service is set to Dynamically Created.
I checked the error logs, but I didn't found anything relevant.

Per my understanding, the code should be OK, I have two suggestions as below:
1. Please ensure that the account of that user is valid in your production environment;
2. Try other accounts in the CreateUserProfile() funciton to see if it can work.

I am in the middle of a inter forest migration and have created the target domain (TargetDomain.local) 2008R2 and Source Domain (SourceDomain.Local) 2008R2 with a two way trust. I have installed ADMT 3.2 on a server in the Target Domain. I am able to migrate
users form the source domain to the target domain. I have copied the OU Structure from the source domain to the target domain. The issue I am currently facing is that I would like to find a way to migrate all users from the source domain to the target domain
and the users migrate to the same OU as the source. I have looked at the include file option but cannot find a way of specifying the source and target OU's.

You need to create the same OU on target domain, then do the user account migration.
On Organizational Unit Selection page, select Browse and select target OU, then click OK.

Hi All,
I am gettingn the below error message while importing the organization from MS CRM 4.0 to MS CRM 2011.
I am importing the organization using service account and the same account was added as db owner in the DB which I was trying to impot. It would be greate if you provide the solution.

SrikanthThe Import Wizard checks if the logged-on user is a System Administrator in SQL, and if not, throws this error. If you can get System Administrator rights, then this is the simplest solution.
Alternatively, I think you can get around this without having System Administrator rights:
Add the IgnoreChecks registry value to allow you to get past the error in the wizard
The import process will check if the CRM Sql logins (SqlAccessGroup, ReportingGroup and PrivReportingGroup) exist. For this, your account will need to be a member of the securityadmin server role, or you could just have the VIEW DEFINITION object permission
on each of these logins

The specified user could not be found through web ensure user

If user doesn't exists in the active directory,blank value/message needs to be displayed.
For this i am writing the code as below,but if user is not found i am planning to display the else part.
But problem here is,it is bombing up if user is not found and displaying the exception.
Please let me know to handle the same.

You are not the candidate/staffing manager for the specified org unit
Hi all.
With cProjects 4.0 (SP10) we are using the staffing scenario "Resource manager via responsible organization" meaning that the role will be directed to the organizational unit specificed in the "staffing process" tab who then handles the staffing.
Despite the above I get the messages from the Subject header when maintaining the role
You are not a candidate manager for the specified or initial organizational unit
You are not a staffing manager for the specified organizational unit"
As the scenario builds upon the project creating requirements through the role the above messages seem unlogical.
Is there an explanation for why the messages are received?

I also assume that is meaning of the message - but is that logical in this staffing scenario?
The project (leader) should create & update the role and then hand it over to the org unit for staffing by changing the status of the role "Start staffing process". The above message should not be received upon setting that status.
It can not be the intention that the project leader should be assigned as a resource manager to all possible org units.
Phrasing it differently, when the status of the role only is "Staffing in preparation" the project leader must be able to update it including setting the staffing status without these messages being received.
When the status of the role is Staffing in process the only thing the project leader ought to be able to do is the reset the status of the role (cancel the staffing request).

is invoked successfully. This is working successfully, but only for a single user. If other users in the same site collection try to invoke the workflow on this same list we get the ULS Log Error:

I am facing issue with work flow where Workflow goes to Suspend mode.
I am facing an issue with SP2013 Custom Workflow developed using Visual Studio 2012.
Objective of the Custom workflow: User fills the form and submit, list get updated and workflow will initiate and go for the process.
Issue: After the deployment of WF, for first time when user is filling the form and submit, list is getting updated. But the Workflow Goes to "Suspend" mode. (
This Custom Workflow has a configuration file where we are providing other details including ID of Impersonator (farm is running under Claim Based Authentication).
Work flow works fine once when the Impersonator initiate the workflow (Fill the form and submit for approval) and everything works fine after that.
Following steps are already performed
1.Make sure User profile synchronization is started.
2.Make sure the user is not the SharePoint system user.
3.Make sure the user by whom you are logged is available in User Profile list.
4.Step full synchronization of User Profile Application.
From the ULS logs it seems the user's security token from the STS service and User profile service is not being issued.
Appreciate any thoughts or solution.

Error message "The specified user or domain group was not found" when trying to access certain sites
Hello.
My setup is as such (this is a testing environment), spread over two virtual machines:
-Windows Server 2012 with AD DS and MS SQL Server 2012
-SharePoint Server 2013
When trying to access a lot of site collections in different web applications, I am given this error message. The error message started suddenly appearing, and I do not know what caused it. It started happening after I turned on Request Management Service
Application, though I can't see how that would cause this, and it was not fixed after I turned it off.
I have the necessary permissions, as I have been able to log on to the sites before without any issue. I am using a domain administrator account who is a site collection administrator.
At first I thought it was an issue related to User Profile Service Application, as I was having issues starting the Synchronisation instance. I deleted and re-installed UPS, got synchronisation to work, and it still does not work. I have made no changed
to the AD schema. I have not moved any accounts recently, and I have not deleted any accounts.

RDS Gateway + Smart Card Error [ The specified user name does not exist.]
I have the following Windows Server 2008 R2 servers:
addsdc.contoso.com, AD DS Domain Controller for contoso.com
adcsca.contoso.com, AD CS Enterprise CA, CDPs/AIAs published externally.
fileserver.contoso.com, RDS Session Host for Administration enabled
rdsgateway.contoso.com, RDS Gateway enabled
tmgserver.contoso.com, 'Publishing' rdsgateway.contoso.com but with pass-through authentication
And the following Windows 7 PCs:
internalclient.contoso.com
externalclient.fabrikam.com
There's no trust between the domains, the external client is completely separate on the internet but the CA certificate for contoso.com has been installed in the trusted Root CA store. All servers have certificates for secure RDP.
I enrolled for a custom 'Smart Card Authentication' certificate with Client Authentication and Smart Card Logon EKUs from the CA, stored on my new Gemalto smart card using the Microsoft Base Smart Card CSP.
From internalclient.contoso.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
using the smart card just fine with no certificate errors.
From externalclient.fabrikam.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
via rdsgateway.contoso.com using a username and password just fine with no certificate errors.
From externalclient.fabrikam.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
via rdsgateway.contoso.com using the smart card to authenticate to the gateway, and a username and password to authenticate to the end server, just fine.
BUT from when using a smart card to authenticate to the end server via the gateway, it fails with:
The specified user name does not exist. Verify the username and try logging in again. If the problem continues, contact your system administrator or technical support.
When I move the client into the internal network and try the connection again (still via the RDS Gateway), it works fine - the only thing I can think of is being outside the network and not being able to contact the AD DS DC for Kerberos is causing the issue
- but I'm pretty sure this is a supported scenario?
The smart card works fine internally, the subject of the certificate is the user's common name (John Smith) and the only SAN is
[email protected] which matches the UPN of the user account as it was auto-enrolled.

Set a default LDAP domain if the user does not specify one during logon
We are using LDAP authentication. We have setup the repository to have 3 LDAP servers, with the following domain identifiers: PUBLIC, AGENT, CORPORATE. We would like to default the domain to PUBLIC for external users, so they do not need to provide a domain. AGENT and CORPORATE users would still specifiy the domain. Is there a way to do this? I've tried setting the USER variable in an init block using the following sql.
Init block 1 - populates the USER session variable to prepend with PUBLIC if not specified

The authentication init block is marked as required for authentication, and the other init block must precede it. It is still allowing a user to login successfully under PUBLIC, when they are not a public user. If I explicitly login as PUBLIC/<user> it fails, as I would expect. But when I login as <user> it is successful. Which is not correct. I've checked in Answers that the variable USER_TEMP is being set to PUBLIC/<user>. So, I'm still confused as to why the LDAP init block is allowing it to go through.

I'm installing Hyperion 9.2.1, and I have installed and configured shared service and hfm successfully, but when I failed to create hfm application.
The reproduce step is:
1. login http://hostname/hfm/Home/LaunchPage.asp, with admin/password
2. click a cluster, and click "create applcation", it failed with error:

Very few authentic dll files reside in that folder. It sounds as though you’ve had a recent infection and one of your ‘anti’ programs has removed the malware files, or some of them, but missed the entry in the registry, possibly due to an out-dated definitions
database.
Try one of these, but it is prudent to create a system restore point before you change the registry in (1) below by going to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System > System Protection (in the left pane) > System Protection Tab >
Create and make sure you give it a meaningful name.
1. The entry is probably in one of the \Run keys, but as the rascal could be hiding in a number of other keys, it’s quicker to search the whole registry. Open a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type regedit and press Enter. Click Edit > Find and type the
rogue’s name, put ticks in Keys, Values and Data, then click Find Next. When it’s found in the right pane, right-click it and delete it. There should be only one entry but press F3 to continue searching, just to confirm there are no more.
2. If you’re concerned about making registry changes disable the entry using the system configuration utility, but bear in mind that you’re disabling the entry not deleting it as you would in (1) above. Open a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type msconfig
and press Enter. Go to the Startup Tab and remove the tick alongside the rogue’s name. Click Apply, OK, etc. and restart the computer. When it restarts, put a tick in ‘Don‘t show this again‘ as you‘re effectively doing a selective start up. -

When trying to create a new user profile service application on a new SharePoint install I get the following error:
"The specified database is not a valid synchronization database"
The installation then fails and does not create the third database.
I found some threads with similar problems but it involved upgrading an existing db. In this case we want to create a new one. Here is the relevant ULS log info:

I Tried to create another one under a different name (databases also) and I get the same error.
The SharePoint instance has the march mandatory update installed. The sql instance we are using is an existing SQL cluster for other SharePoint poc's.
Has anybody seen this issue before?I had the same problem and could not figure out what was wrong for the longest time. I then had the idea to check in the model system database to see if there were any extra custom tables in that database. Any tables that are in the model database
are put into any new database when it is created. I had some custom tables in the model database so I deleted the custom tables in the model database and deleted the failed user profile service application and its databases and then tried to recreate
the user profile service application again and it worked with no errors -

I've got(or rather had) a single sharepoint FE that runs off a separate SQL backend server. I have separate Intranet, MySite, and Search web applications. Last night all three were working perfectly, and everything seemed fine. I came in this morning and

Strange thing is that MySites still functions perfectly fine. Initally I had thought it was because I had declared a new master page for both Search and Intranet web apps, but changing the master back to a "stock" master page still presents me
with the error.I have SP1 and Claims based object cache users, but the same problem with menus failing when Publishing is enabled.
