Authenticating Dynamically

I have gone through the sample car rental authentication eg ...for authentication bofore starting the application a screen appears asking for user id..this screen appears automatically...i have a login web dynpro page in my application...how do i authenticate using this login page ... i do not want the authentication page to come automatically....
please help....

hi,
Check this doc.. this tells how to make UI elements specific to user in a particular webdynpro application...

  • Web Authentication Dynamic VLAN Assignment

    In a WLC 4402 firmware v.5.2.157 is there any way to assign users to a VLAN dynamically based on the RADIUS response received from the ACS?

    Yes and no. you can do this for an internal 802.1x WLAN, as the client does not get an IP address until they have completed the authentication process. For this you use 64/65/81, 64 802 , 65 VLAN and for 81 use the interface name not the VLAN number. you will also need to make sure you have AAA Overrided enabled under the WLAN.
    If as this says for Web Authentication, the answer is no. The client has an IP address prior to being validated by the AAA server.

    A final input.
    I realize ofcourse that putting in the necessary AUTH commands in httpd.conf will ensure that REMOTE_USER is passed to the cgi script. The thing that vexes me is when one creates a realm, the server admin puts in some AUTH commands in /etc/apache2/sites/sitefile.conf. But reading that file one cannot deduce how the authentication is made, i.e there is not auth file with a password - which means that apache is somehow getting its authentication form the open directory...but...this is where i'm lost..how do I get that authentication passed to the cgi script? If I add my own authenticaion using htpasswd (in httpd.conf) the user ends up having to authenticate twice, which works but seems unnecessary.
    Thanks

    When a add-on is installed,how is the authentication done ? How does the company object gets user name and password ?
    I have created a add-on where the company's user name and pasword are static.Every time I install it on new server ,I have to change the username and password of the object company.How can I make this authentication dynamic ?

    In your addon for what purpose you are using the Company username and password?.. Are you using  DIAPI?.
    When I am connecting to SBO using DIAPI, I can connect with out changing username and password.

  • Roadmap for SSRS from SQL2012 to SQL2014 and beyond?

    Hi there,
    We are the authors of a web application that has grown over a number of years and serves a lot of corporate clients, each client with a lot of users all authenticating to our single application instance.
    We integrated to SSRS 2008 to provide a mechanism whereby we could publish application reports for the clients to run, but also give them a self service reporting portal and access to reporting tools for the more sophisticated users. This has made us very
    dependent on:
    - SSRS custom authentication, so the users log into our application only once and then are authorized to run reports from SSRS. This took some time to get working, but is serving its purpose well.
    - SSRS Report Manager. We have quite an elaborate folder structure in Report Manager reflecting all of the different clients and the reports they have created for their own use. Again, Report Manager is serving this purpose well. In conjunction with custom
    authentication, we have good control over which users should have access to which reports/folders/functionality.
    - Report Builder. We still have some novice users running Report Builder 1.0, and some more sophisticated users running Report Builder 2012. We have all become familiar with these tools and are quite satisfied with them.
    - Report Models. From the outset, we needed to expose a simple data model to users that they could use for basic reporting with only HTTP access to the site, without all of the security and performance issues of requiring/allowing people to write T-SQL queries.
    Report Models have also been quite suitable for this, albeit with some limitations that have caught us out (such as difficulties doing a LEFT JOIN type query).
    With all the recent upheaval related to Power BI, Power View requiring Silverlight and SharePoint, Report Builder fading into the background, more focus placed on Excel for self-service reporting, and more focus placed on Office 365/Azure, this has left
    us in a bit of a hole.
    Dropping support for Report Models is likely to be the biggest issue for us. We have been using them for many years, and our users have created thousands and thousands of purpose-built reports based on the models. It's not feasible for us as developers to
    painstakingly recreate their reports against some other data source (SSAS tabular model?), and it's going to be a public relations disaster if we have to tell the users they need to throw away all that work they've done building their reports based on
    report models and start again from scratch.
    The way forward for us with Microsoft is not clear at present, and rather than continue to pour money and time into Microsoft BI, we have to consider going with other tools that have a more predictable vision, better backward compatibility, a better migration
    path, and require less investment in bulky platforms that provide little added value but drastically increase the cost of ownership. Azure may be part of this puzzle, but we need to know we can transition into it without throwing away our existing investment
    in reporting.
    If I could write a wishlist of things that would sway us, it would be:
    - Continued support and enhancement for Report Models on both the server side, and the development tooling. Preferably, better support for custom authentication, dynamic security rules in the model perhaps by allowing the model to accept parameters.
    - If not the above, then a simple migration tool or compatibility wrapper to allow us to preserve existing functionality while building upon it with Microsoft Power BI tools.
    - The ability to use Power View, newer visualization tools, self-service reporting, sharing of reports, publishing of reports, scheduling of reports without the need for SharePoint.
    - If not the above, then access to this functionality via Azure so we are not maintaining SharePoint exclusively to provide some reporting capability for our application.
    - The ability to use our application's own authentication mechanism to flow single sign-on authorization through into SSRS. I'm not opposed to using some form of Active Directory or .NET membership here, as long as we can preserve the ability for us to authenticate
    users with their existing usernames and passwords into both our application and SSRS.
    - Continued support and enhancement of Report Builder. I'd be happier paying a per-user subscription fee to keep Report Builder alive than trying to force all our novice users into Excel with clunky add-ins.
    - The ability for users to access summarized data such as that exposed via an SSAS multi-dimensional cube but designing reports using the familiar Report Builder interface over an HTTP connection, with a consistent security mechanism. In particular we use a
    lot of "time intelligence" type dimensions.
    I'm sure Power BI is quite enticing for a new project, but remember that not all of your customers are building a new application from scratch with massive graphic/video/social media or "internet of things" type data volumes. We are simply trying
    to maintain an existing project with modest transactional business data requirements we built with the tools you gave us.
    I would be happy to hear from Riccardo Muti or anyone from the SSRS team for an update on this. I note it's been 9 months since the last SSRS blog post at
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlrsteamblog/. This makes me worry that the team has either been disbanded, or has been busy working on something that's going to take us by surprise because they haven't put the
    necessary effort into communicating with us.
    I look forward to a response from MS.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Thank you Michael for taking the time to express your concerns and thoughts.  You have articulated a number of my concerns which l believe like you have not been addressed by Microsoft publicly.
    Whilst l can see considerable benefit in all the work that has been put into Power BI.  The tool still falls short of a number of features and capabilities offered by SSRS.  As such is not a possible alternative for the reports we currently deliver
    or will deliver in the foreseeable future.
    The feedback on connect has been closed therefore l have few options to express my feedback.  In the comments left l can see "Details for the next release are available under NDA through a sales representative."  This is somewhat cryptic
    to me in that l also have no idea how to contact a sales representative or for that matter ensure l contact the correct sales representative.  Based on feedback from a previous clients interaction with other MS sales representative's, its best to ensure
    l speak to the one that knows this product, with sufficient technical knowledge.  Any guidance on how to contact the appropriate sales representative would be very welcome.

  • SAP R/3 connection from KM Component

    Hello,
    We have the following requirement which we are trying to explore if it would be a possibility. Our Org Management structure in SAP R/3 stores information like User's manager and other details. Now we would like to install KM component within EP and make use of this Org structure as part of R/3 to decide who should be receiving the document(s) based on user authentication( Dynamic approver identification).
    Is this possible within KM ? Can KM talk to SAP R/3 to fetch these kind of details ? or are we trying to aim too high ?

  • 802.1x and Remote Agent

    AD 2000 Domain, ACS appliance (running 3.3.1), remote agent on the Certificate authority. setup PEAP per instructions.
    When i try to login with a user on a desktop, it errors out. This is the error message i see in the RemoteAgent logs
    CSWinAgent 02/03/2005 17:13:56 A 0048 0604 NTLIB: Attempting Windows authentication for user RFI5771

    CSWinAgent 02/03/2005 17:13:56 A 0048 0604 NTLIB: nt_GetUsersNTGroups failed
    Its funny. With my ID, everything works (dot1x gets authenticated, dynamically assigned VLAN, properly authenticated.
    But I can't get it to work with any other user. Thinking that there was a rights issue Service account, i tested with a Domain admin account. No avail.
    Any thoughts? I tested this whole setup in a lab with ACS for windows and it works like a charm. Getting it to work with the appliance has been a bit challenging.

    Hi,
    Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue. I have the same issue with ACS 3.3.3 for windows. I have not seen this issue on any other ACS Win / Appliance installs.
    Thanks in advance

  • ISE question on desktop switches, MAC replace, MAC move

    Hi all,
    few questions on authenticator NAD (example: switch) to support on these items
    01. desktop switches, how we can enable other switch to plug in and extend the network? What is this deal with Network Edge Access Topology (NEAT)?
    what must configure on ISE policy node, authenticator switch and the new plug in extended switch?
    02. How and what need to do on authenticator switch and ISE on these:
    a. MAC Replace
    b. MAC Move
    Thanks
    Noel

    mac replace -
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/dot1x.html#wp1143287
    mac move -
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12.2_55_se/configuration/guide/sw8021x.html#wp1481527
    Before you consider NEAT -
    If you are using a dumb switch you can enable multi-auth so that all mac  addresses forwarded up to the switch port are authenticated, dynamic  vlan assignment is not a scalable solution for this solution since you  can only assign the first authenticated mac address to the dynamic vlan,  others either inherit the vlan or error disable the port (I can't  recall), but it is documented.
    NEAT is only supported on a few access or distribution switches, so make sure you follow the release notes to see if you platform supports this design.
    ISE policy node - must have the av-pair of device-traffic-class=switch to be configured to dynamically convert the authenticator's port over to a trunk port. Your design depends on either MAB or dot1x to succeed for this av-pair to be triggered in your authorization policy...i.e. profiled endpoint group or a user group with the credentials mapped to a user group or both.
    Authenticator switch - must allow radius authentication, authorization, and for proper license tracking an accounting.
    Client switch - credentials (see reference guides and config examples), forward traffic to trigger mab if dot1x is not part of this solution.

  • Email Receiver Dynamic User Authentication, is it possible?

    Hello Experts,
    I have a scenario SAP ECC->SAP PI->Gmail Mail Server, now the interface is working fine, the thing is that I want to configure the user Authentication in a dynamic way, I tried to doit in a UDF in the Message Mapping, using the dynamic values for:
    TServerLocation
    TAuthKey
    fields, but is not working, am I using the correct header fields?, or is there another way to change this parameters?, thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards,
    Julio Cesar

    Hello Gopal,
    Im using Plain, it works fine if I fill up the fields for User and Password in the comm channel, but if I try using the fields in a Dynamic way is not working, thanks for your answer.

  • Dynamic Attributes from LDAP Authentication

    Is it possible to have attributes pulled directly from an LDAP V3 Directory and made available as HTTP Headers instead of from the Data Store? Reason I ask is that I have an existing 2 Million end users in an eDirectory that I can not make a schema change to accomodate a Data Store so i have Sun DS for Config. So I have created a new LDAP Auth Module anc have that working with eDirectory, however AM wants a profile. If I choose to "ignore" it in the Core Authentication module I can authenticate but get an Error 500 if I try to fetch attributes.
    The current workaround I have is to Dynamically create profile and define all the attributes I want copied in the new profile. Problem is this information is static. it never gets updated by AM id the eDirectory is updated. The only option is to delete the user profile.
    Is there a way around this? Would this entail a custom Response Provider that obtains attributes directly from the eDirectory? Would I still need a profile if I have a custom response provider?
    Thanks in advance

    I don't believe you have to add any attributes to a directory server's schema in order to use it as an LDAPv3 data store. This config works fine for me:

  • How to pass Proxy user dynamically in Toplink proxy authentication?

    Hi,
    I'm using Toplink Proxy Authentication with my ADF JSF application and want to pass the Proxy user dynamically to the preLogin(..) method of mySessionEventListener (Currently proxy user is hard coded).
    This is to make my application user as the Proxy user.
    I have tried to do this in two ways:
    1) In my Login screen Backing Bean, I retrieve the session as
    session = sessionFactory.acquireSession(); and set the application user in it as
    session.setProperty("proxyUser1", inputText1.getValue());
    But,
    session.getProperty("proxyUser1") returns null in the preLogin(..) method
    2) I add a loginUser property to the mySessionEventListener class and create a constructor to set it.
    Then I call the constructor from my Login Backing Bean as
    mySessionEventListener eventMgr = new mySessionEventListener(<proxy_user>);
    session.getEventManager().addListener( eventMgr );
    But, the loginUser property seeems to be transient and does not retain value when retrieved in preLogin(..) method.
    Please indicate if anything is wrong. Also, is there any other way to get this done?
    Thanks in advance.
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
    Probably your sessions.xml defines a ServerSession, and acquireSession method returns a ClientSession. ServerSession is the object that connects to the database, it may have any number of ClientSessions associated with it - all of them use connections provided by ServerSession's connection pools.
    So if you'd like to alter the serverSession before login, acquireSession is too late - it triggers login of the ServerSession and returns a ClientSession.
    To get the ServerSession before login:
    // the first param indicates that the session shouldn't be connected
    Session serverSession = sessionFactory.getSharedSession(false, false);Now you have a serverSession on which login hasn't been called yet.
    You can set the property into the session, or directly into its login.
    In fact you may choose to do whatever you wanted to do in preLogin right here - in this case no preLogin event would be required of course.
    Finally to get a ClientSession, call the same api did:
    // the first param indicates that the session shouldn't be connected
    Session clientSession = sessionFactory.getSession();On the first such call the ServerSession will be connected.
    Note that because all the ClientSessions will connect through the connections provided by the same ServerSession they will all use proxyUser1.
    If you are interested in using different proxy users for different ClientSessions http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/doc/1013/main/_html/dblgcfg008.htm#BABDABCF lists several scenarios for that.

  • Dynamic User Authentication in JSF, ADF BC Application

    I have developed a JSF, ADF BC Application using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. My application consists of jspx pages and I also have to integrate some existing oracle forms with it using OraFormsFaces library.
    I have successfully used custom DBProcLogin Module by Frank to authenticate the users with the help of a stored procedure and user credentials stored in database tables.
    During integrating Oracle Forms I realised that some of these oracle forms use get_application_property(username) to retreive connected user information. All of the users which are stored in database tables are also oracle users with the same credentials as stored in database tables. The existing oracle forms based application was connecting to Oracle every time with different provided user credentials each time and therefore returning correct (required) user name information.
    Now since I have used DBProcLogin Module in new ADF application, when I run it, user is successfully authenticated but get_application_property(username) in the existing oracle forms returns the user name that application module is using to connect with the database. To make it work correctly, I want my ADF application to connect to oracle database with different user each time.
    I have searched and seen topics such as, Dynamic JDBC Credentials, Database Proxy Users etc. But I am confused with the width and depth of this much information available. Therefore, I thought I may get some advice from the experts present in the forum that which of the techniques will go best with my application.
    Keeping in view the scenario that I have provided, can someone please guide me to the best suitable technique and the related information/documentation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Amir

    Hi,
    the whitepaper you reference is written by the expert on this subject. Samples are posted by the same author: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html
    Note that what you try to do will create a dedicated connection for Forms and ADF, which means that 100 users will have 200 database connections open.

  • Is dynamic VLAN assignment supported with web-authentication?

    The 7.6.130.0 WLC configuration guides says this:
    "Dynamic VLAN assignment is not supported for web authentication from a controller with Access Control Server (ACS)"
    How should we interpret this, exactly? Does this mean that dynamic VLAN assignment is supported with web authentication from a controller if some other RADIUS server is used (Eg: FreeRadius, ISE)?

    It is not supported with any kind of radius server. The radius attributes ACS uses for pushing those settings (64,65,81) are the same for every other radius implementation. Pushing a QoS profile does work.

  • Set dynamic authentication credentials to Partner link - BPEL 11g PS1

    Hi,
    I am working on BPEL SOA 11g PS1. I need to know how i can dynamically set the Authentication details (Username and password) as well as Timeout while invoking a web service reference.
    I have been successful in setting these values using properties of the partner-link which is static.But actually as per my use-case, i need to read these information dynamically from a repository say Database/DVM and set these value while invoking.

    Hi Sridhar
    Below is the composite.xml snippet which works for me as static mapping. I have added "wss_username_token_client_policy" to the reference interface.
    <reference name="getNameService" ui:wsdlLocation="getNameService.wsdl">
    <interface.wsdl interface="http://www.amazon.com/css/mmbi/getNameService/#wsdl.interface(getNameServiceSoapPort)"/>
    <binding.ws port="http://www.amazon.com/css/mmbi/getNameService/#wsdl.endpoint(getNameService/getNameServiceSoapPort)"
    location="getNameService.wsdl" soapVersion="1.1">
    *<wsp:PolicyReference URI="oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy"*
    orawsp:category="security" orawsp:status="enable"/>
    <property name="weblogic.wsee.wsat.transaction.flowOption"
    type="xs:string" many="false">WSDLDriven</property>
    *<property name="oracle.webservices.auth.username" type="xs:string"*
    many="false" override="may">username11</property>
    *<property name="oracle.webservices.auth.password" type="xs:string"*
    many="false" override="may">password11</property>
    *<property name="oracle.webservices.httpReadTimeout" type="xs:string"*
    many="false" override="may">30000</property>
    <property name="oracle.soa.ws.outbound.omitWSA" type="xs:string"
    many="false" override="may">true</property>
    </binding.ws>
    </reference>
    Here you can find property value for oracle.webservices.auth.username,oracle.webservices.auth.password & oracle.webservices.httpReadTimeout are static , What i want to make here is to read these from a bpel variable in runtime.
    OR
    Is there any means i can do this same basic authentication in BPEL 11g which would support dynamic credentials.
    Thanks

  • Cisco 2960 / Linksys SRW2008P - Radius dynamic vlan authentication

    Hi all,
    I am planning on purchasing a Linksys SRW2008P before I buy it I want to know if it has these features.
    This is how my test lab is setup.
    Laptop -> Linksys SRW2008 -> Cisco 2960 -> Linksys WRVS4400N -> Internet
    My Cisco 2960 is going act as the "Distribution Switch" in my Lab. It's main purpose is to implment Radius 802.1X dynamic VLAN(s)
    The Linksys WRV2008 will act as an "Access Switch" the main features I would like to know is if it can support 802.1X dynamic VLAN(s) propagated from the Linksys 2960.
    For exmple: I am going to setup all my VLAN's on the 2960 and I want them to replicate to my SRW 2008 (like VTP). Whoever plugs into a port on the SRW will be authenticated via RADIUS and RADIUS will authenticate the port and send the VLAN information.
    I searched throughout the forms and from what I see is that Linksys switches do not support Dynamic VLAN(s) but I want to double check
    The reason why I am doing this is because I want 802.1X authentication throughout my small office but the problem is some offices have 1 Port with 2 users and a printer. I want both users to authenticate via 802.1X and avoid trying to buy a 2960 8 port switch for 500$ just for 2 users.
    If anybody has any suggestions or past experiences with a situation similiar to mine that would be great!
    Cheers

    HI.  I have read a previous post that can confirm if Linksys switches support dynamic vlans.  Check out the link below.
