Authentication Domain for PeopleTools 8.48

I know there is very little reason to change the authentication domain name; however, there are situations where the issue may arise when this needs to be done. In 8.48, how do you change this without having to totally rebuild the weblogic 8.1 webservers?
We have an issue where the customer's resumes and applicant information goes to their main company webpage instead of the domain that was created for their PeopleSoft Applications, yes they have two domains and no one knows why, but apparently that went live with another domain name.
Thanks...

It needs to be updated in the weblogic.xml file located in the webserver
under the PeopleSoftHome\webserv\peoplesoft\applications\portal\web-inf.
The paramter name is cookiedomain.

  • 802.1X authentication not happening in Voice Domain for IP Phone

    I am trying to lab as many scenarios as I can for 802.1x.  I seem to have hit a problem with IP Phones running EAP-MD5 authentication.  The phone sare always being authenticated in the Data Domain.  This is regardless of whether or no the port configuration is in: host-mode multi-auth  ,or, host-mode multi-domain.  After a while of both ports appearing to authenticate in the data VLAN, neither the PC or Phone will work
    I have checked that my ACS5.1 server is sending the appropriate AV pair of "device-traffic-class=voice" as I can see it in a wireshark trace.
    What other aspects might i need to check to get the phone to authenticate itself properly?
    The problem shows itself as:

  • REN Server : Authentication Domain

    Hi
    Currently we are running PeopleSoft Financials with the Authentication Domain as the null string.
    Due to this the following navigation path fails even though the REN Server Browser URL does not have the domain
    PeopleTools -> REN Server COnfiguration - REN Server Cluster -> Ping Test
    However, when i add the authentication domain i find that if i login into DEV peoplesoft instance and start an operation and open another browser session of UAT peoplesoft instance.
    When i come back to the DEV peoplesoft instance browser session it prompts for userid password again.
    The below are the steps
    1. Set a non-null authentication domain
    2. bounce the application/web servers
    3. Open the browser session and connect to DEV peoplesoft instance
    4. Open another browser session and connect to UAT peoplesoft instance
    5. Come back to the DEV peoplesoft instance browser session
    6. the DEV peoplesoft instance displays the peoplesoft login page prompting for userid and password
    Can you please help me understand this phenomenon better?
    Also currently in this peoplesoft instance the buffer test works fine but the ping test is not working.
    So can you please let me know if the REN server is working fine or is there a better way to figure out if the REN server working
    Thanks a lot for your patience

  • How to use an authenticated user for a proxy call

    Dear all,
    I am currently working on a JEE application where the user needs to authenticate (for this I have configured the web.xml).
    Now inside this application I need to do a proxy call to a PI webservice.
    I would like to use the user credentials of the already logged in user in order to call the proxy.
    What I don't want to do is to use a service user for the proxy call.
    The code I am trying to call looks something like this:
         private IntegratedConfigurationIn getPort() throws Exception{
              IntegratedConfigurationIn port = null;
              try {
                   IntegratedConfigurationInService service = null;
                   service = new IntegratedConfigurationInService();
                   port = (IntegratedConfigurationIn) service.getIntegratedConfigurationIn_Port();
                  BindingProvider bp = (BindingProvider)port;
                  bp.getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, user);
                  bp.getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, password);
                  if (url.length() != 0)
                       bp.getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY, url);
              catch (Exception ex){
                   ex.printStackTrace();
              return port;
    The examples I found to retrieve the userdata pointed to codes similar to this one:
    public HttpServletRequest getHttpRequest() throws Exception {
              // Get runtime context
              Properties props = new Properties();
              props.put("domain", "true");
              Context initialContext = new InitialContext(props);
              ApplicationWebServiceContext wsContext = (ApplicationWebServiceContext) initialContext
                        .lookup(" /wsContext/ApplicationWebServiceContext");
              HttpServletRequest req = wsContext.getHttpServletRequest();
              return req;
    com.sap.security.api.IUser sapUser = com.sap.security.api.UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser(getHttpRequest(), null);
              IUser ep5User = com.sapportals.wcm.util.usermanagement.WPUMFactory.getUserFactory().getEP5User(sapUser);
    Now I don't know how to bring it togehter and how to use an authenticated user for the BindingProvider.
    I would appreciate any hints or ideas.

    Peter,
    from the first screenshot, what I understood is that, you are calling an inbound PI web service that is intended to create an integrated configuration object (this is used for whole lot of other reason completely) but not actually calling a development web service.
    For this, you would have to generate your client classes from the WSDL provided by the PI developer for that particular service. Once you get those client classes generated, you could used the method provided in the other screenshot to extract the user and password and call the intended web service.

  • Single Authentication Domain

    Hi,
    I am creating a new environment on PT 8.50 for Portal 9.1 with DB as Oracle 11G R2 on Linux OS which is on domain xyz.com and i have an old environment of portal8.8 on domain abc.com.WE are trying to provide a link from Portal9.1 to Portal8.8 which is on a different domain.Is it possible to establish a single authentication domain between them as both the domains are different?
    Webserver being used is IBM Websphere
    Thanks
    Vijay

    If I understand your question correctly, I think the answer is no.
    You can't establish a PeopleSoft single signon relationship between a PIA site that's on domain xyz.com with one that's on abc.com.
    Single signon requires PSTOKEN authentication to work, and browsers will not forward cookies across domains (this would be a security vulnerability), so this can't happen because the target site would never get a PSTOKEN cookie to authenticate against when clicking the link.
    But you can do something like this:
    site 1 = company1.corporation.com
    site 2 = company2.us.corporation.com
    If your names were set up this way, then you could set your cookie domains and AuthTokenDomain to .corporation.com and set them up with single signon links to each other. The key is what is the domain associated with the PSTOKEN at the time it was issued, and will it be allowed to be forwarded to and accepted by the other site?
    Theoretically, you could also set up .com as the authtoken domain, but that would be really bad from a security perspective, because you would basically be allowing anybody on the Internet to send you a PSTOKEN.

  • Getting mail authentication errors for outlook user sending mail

    When Outlook 2010 user attempts to use port 587 to send mail (to himself at this point), we see the following in the server logs:
    (User in question can attach to file shares on the same server just fine from his Windows laptop)
    Outlook config for outbound server is "port: 587, encryption TLS"
    When we connect, we get "connection interrupted by server"
    Tried other encryption methods - outlook 2010 states that server does not support the other methods (None, SSL)

    Running OS X 10.8.4 with Server 2.2.1.
    Any thoughts on what I need to do to make OSX Server mail play nice with Outlook over the submission port?
    Thanks in advance!!

    Ok - so I think I have it almost all sussed. So for all 3 of you who might be reading this, here is what is going on.
    1) As I expected, this has nothing to do with the FQDN/Outlook problem. I actually rejoiced when I finally got far enough to have that problem with my Outlook 2007 and 2010 clients. And I don't like the recommended fix for that either. There is another way - more on that in a minute.
    2) This problem was all about authentication methods. At present, I have OS X Mail Server set for plain text and APOP only. I will be working to fix this soon - but at present I am unable to find any other combination that permits both Mac Mail and Outlook clients to authenticate properly. Mac Mail wants to use CRAM-MD5 by default. Outlook is so incompatible with CRAM-MD5 that even when there are other authentication methods available on the mail server, if CRAM-MD5 is selected on the Server then Outlook fails miserably no matter how you configure the Outlook client. Caveat: this is my own observation and I still have some experimenting to do. If you know otherwise (or can confirm more definitively), then please speak up!
    So here is the working configuration at present:
       A) Mail Server authentication set to Custom with PlainText and APOP selected, all others blank.
       B) Firewall permits inbound from ports 25 (for mail from "outside"), 587 (submission for authenticated users, TLS) 993 (SSL IMAP), and 995 (SSL POP).
       C) Mac POP Clients:
          i) For retrieval (POP) In advanced settings, use Port 995, Check "Use SSL", Select APOP for authentication.
          ii) For submission (SMTP) : Set port 587 (only), Set Authentication to "Password"
        D) Outlook 2007,2010,2013 clients
           i) For retrieval (POP), Set "Require secure logon using SPA"
          ii) In "More Settings/Outgoing Server" set it to require authentication with same credentials as inbound
         iii) In "More Settings/Advanced"
             a) Turn on Encryption for the POP3, this should change the port to 995 automatically. If it does not, fix that too.
             b) Set outgoing server to 587
             c) Set TLS for the encryption type (nothing else will work here)
    Once you do 2.A, 2.B, 2.D, you will THEN, finally encounter the FQDN problem.
    3) So Apple and a lot of folks here in the forums resolve the FQDN problem by removing one of the restrictions:
        Remove "reject_non_fqdn_helo_hostname" from "smtpd_helo_restrictions" in your postfix main.cf file.
    I have at least 2 problems with this:
       A) It removes yet another little bit of security from the setup
       B) It involves non-GUI changes to the config...which is dangerous if you use the GUI, as changes within the GUI will often result in overwrites to your changes outside the GUI. So you can easily lose this fix without being aware of it until one of your Outlook users starts screaming.
    The problem is really with Outlook and Windows not sending the FQDN in the first place. So how about we force them to do that instead? It turns out not to be too hard. I found a thread somewhere that goes into this and it works. Further, the solution remains on through reboots AND also can be made part of an automated deployment of a standard config. The only gotcha is you have to edit the registry...so you have to be careful. You only need to do this ONCE though, and the two entries are easy to find.
      C) Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/services/Tcpip/Parameters
           i) Set Hostname to the FQDN of your host (replace HOST with HOST.domain.com - or .net, or whatever)
          ii) Set NV Hostname to the FQDN of your host
          iii) Close Regedit and Reboot to have the changes take effect
    Once you do this, the FQDN problem for Outlook users goes away.
    So I am looking for suggestions to make the SMTP submission more secure. Aside from that, things are working - and I have had to make ZERO changes to config files outside of the Server GUI - a plus as far as I am concerned.

  • No Authentication Policy for ABCS composites

    Hi All,
    Whenever I am invoking WSDL of ABCS Impl from other SOA composites, it checks for No Authentication Policy. Everytime I do some changes and redeploy in ABCS composites in Enterprise Manager, I need to attach "No Authentication Policy" for all the end points of it.
    As I do not want these WS policy, kindly guide me how to get rid of this issue. I will appreciate a quick response on this.
    Thanks,
    Dhiraj Mishra

    Hi Dhiraj,
    We also faced this issue with AIA flows in 11.1.1.4. Below is how we disabled policies
    1. Login to em console
    2. WebLogic Domain --> right click on xyz_domain --> Web Services --> Policies
    3. Select “All” in Applies To and type Name as “oracle/aia_wss10_saml_token_client_policy_OPT_ON”
    4.     Select “oracle/aia_wss10_saml_token_client_policy_OPT_ON” and click Edit
    5.     Uncheck “Enabled”
    6.     Applies To “All”
    7.     WSSecurity SAML Token --> Uncheck Advertised and Enforced
    8.     Click Save
    9. Similarly we disabled below policy : oracle/aia_wss_saml_or_username_or_http_token_service_policy_OPT_ON
    10. Restart managed server(mandatory)
    Hope this helps
    Thanks,

  • NAM 3.2.1 Custom Authentication Class for BASIC not loaded

    Hi!
    Im trying to write a custom authentication class for
    BASIC/PROTECTED_BASIC, so I started with the PasswordClass sample from
    SDK novell-nacm3_2-devel-2012.08.10.tar.gz, stripped out the
    STSAuthenticationClass and changed the type to
    AuthnConstants.PROTECTED_PASSWORD --> and it works!
    public String getType() {
    return AuthnConstants.PROTECTED_PASSWORD;
    Next I wanted to create a custom BASIC auth class by changing the type
    to AuthnConstants.BASIC / AuthnConstants.PROTECTED_BASIC
    public String getType() {
    return AuthnConstants.PROTECTED_BASIC;
    but now IDP complains about the unsupported type.

    PS: What i really want to solve is strip out the Domain from the

    hmmm, well try writing the value out to stderr and see if you can at least make sure you are getting
    a good read.
    Like a System.out.println(AuthnConstants.PROTECTED_PASSWO RD);
    I ran into some strange stuff where some constants had no values for no apparent reason when they
    should.
    I would also try supplying the actual value instead of the constant and see if it goes through that
    way. ("ProtectedBasic")

  • Configuring the authentication scheme for a web application

    Hi all,
    We have a requirement to configure the authentication scheme for a web application where some set of users should access the application using basic LDAP (userid/password) authentication and some using digital certificate authentication.
    Since the deployment descriptor (web.xml) allows only one directive for auth-method in logic-config, we want to know if there is any other way to achieve this requirement. We are thinking of a custom login module approach. But we are not able to figure out how to configure the auth-method at runtime from the login servlet.
    Please let us know if there is any other approach to achieve this.
    I will be thankful if any body shares any specific solution to this issue.

    This forum is probably not the correct one to ask in. It's more related to the web container than Java Programming.

    I have two sites, I would like to have up and I would like to do one through a domain and one through mobileme is this possible?

    Yes you can. You can use the CNAME method of forwarding for the first site (the top site in iWeb) and use the MMe URL for your account for the other site: http://web.me.com/YourAccount_Name/SiteName/

    Hi there,
    Does the user get authenticated in the ACS logs?

    ro
    reports and activity----->  passed authentications
