Authorization issue regarding Bex Query

Hi All,
User Requirement: When ever the user is executing the report in Design Studio, user can able to see all the company codes (summary data) in the main page of the dashboard. If user wants to drill down to a particular Comp code, then user should access only which are authorized. Ex: If the user Test4444 is executing the report, then he/she can able to see all the comp codes data in the main page of the dashboard. If the user wants to drill down further to see the comp code wise data, then he/she should not allowed to see except comp code-4444 or what and all authorized .
Back ground work:
I have a Bex query, which is using the Design Studio. In this query, "0COMP_CODE" is a char InfoObj and I have created a Auth variable on this InfoObj. There are 4 autho objects created based on this "0COMP_CODE". And also 4 Roles and 4 users have created.
Each autho_Objet has assigned to that corresponding Role and that Role is assigned to that correspond User. Details are as follows.
Autho_Objet
Role
UserID
ZTEST_MAIN (which includes all - 23 compny codes)
ZMain_Role
All users have to access this role
ZTEST_1111 (which includes only CC- 1111
Z1111_Role
Test1111
ZTEST_2222 (Which Includes only CC - 2222)
Z2222_Role
Test2222
ZTEST_3333 (Which Includes only CC - 3333)
Z3333_Role
Test3333
ZTEST_4444 (Which Includes only CC - 4444)
Z4444_Role
Test4444
To achieve this requirement, I have created 1 auth.object for all Comp.Codes and assigned to one main role and this role is assigned to all users. This looks fine and hopefully it will work.
The problem is the next step of drill down to comp.code. Here I have created individual autho.object per Role per User and mapped accordingly. Unfortunately, user can able to access all the comp.codes data because of the main role assigned. I got stuck here in this second level restriction. Could some one can through a light how we can achieve this in authorization. It would be a great assistance if some one help here. I would be much appreciated and grateful to your assistance and inputs. Thank you in advance!

In the role ZTEST_MAIN,
You need to remove all company codes as this is overriding the rest
Then add aggregate authorization, ie "0COMP_CODE" = ":"
This is a special authorization which grants authorization to see the summation of all the 0COMP_CODE without giving detailed authorization to any.
The rest of your design is fine.
You should then use RSECADMIN to check any authorization issue you have.

    Hi raghukan,
This is may be due to the authorization but still you can check the consistency check for these queries using RSRV.

  • Issues with Bex query structures and Crystal Reports/Webi

    Hi experts,
I'm having an issue with Bex Query structures and nulls. I've built a Crystal Report against a Bex query that uses a Bex Query structure. The structure looks like the following
    Budget $
    Budget %
    Actual $
    Actual %
    Budget YTD
    etc
if I drag the structure into the Crystal Report detail section with a key figure it displays like this
    Budget $     <null>
    Budget %     <null>
    Actual $     300
    Actual %     85
    Budget YTD     250
the null values are displayed (and this is what is required). However if I filter using a Record selection or group on a profit centre then the nulls along with the associated structure component are not displayed.
    Actual $     300
    Actual %     85
    Budget YTD     250
Webi is also behaving similarly. Can anyone explain why the above is happening and suggest a solution either on the Bex side of things or on the Crystal Reports side of things? I'm confused as to why nulls are displayed in the first example and not the second.

    Hi,
Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence will only show data which is in the cube. You could have an actual 0 or Null entry whithout grouping but by changing the selection / grouping in the report the data does not include such entry anymore.

  • Authorisation issue regarding BEX Broadcaster

    Hi all
Does anyone know why I maybe getting an authorisation issue attempting to broadcast a pdf report via the Bex broadcast tool?
The recipient user has all the relevant authorisations and roles attached, and when this report is previewed in Bex Report Designer, the report runs fine showing all the data for the report, However when the report is scheduled via the Bex broadcaster, the broadcast fails. RSRD_LOG shows the following message
Java communication error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist.
    Message no. RSBOLAP017
And in T-code sm21, I get the following error
    X MESSAGE BRAIN 299: SAPLRSEC_CHECKS
    RSEC_GET_AUTH_HIER_FOR_USER:NOHIE
This indicates that there is an authorisation error with my user, however as mentioned earlier all the authorisation objects and roles seem correct as the report runs fine as I can preview in bex report designer with no authorisation problems at all.
I have also executed the report in T-code RSECADMIN this also shows no errors in the error log and the report runs fine here too.
    Please can anyone advise?
    Thanks
    Forhad

    Hi Forhad,
I'm not sure if the error is related to the communication between the Java and the BW or if it's a problem with the authorization.
Are you using a customer exit or an authorization variable in your query/bookmark?
Check if by chance your query have an hirarchy assigned to a characteristic, then, check the user's authorization and check whether you have enough authorization for the hierarchy.
I'm unsure, but maybe note 916090 can help you.
    I hope it helps.

  • Authorization issue to execute query via analyzer

    Dear,
We are experiencing an authorization issue that we can not solve...
We have grant to user the expected objects to execute query (S_RS_COMP & S_RS_COMP1) and the central objects like S_GUI, S_USER_AGR.
When we test in RESCEADMIN, everything is fine. We can execute the query.
When we test it in the analyzer, the variable screen does not pop-up and we get the error message:
"There is no variable in the workbook, which allows user input"
Does anybody have a direction to help us to orientate our investigation?
    Many thanks,
    Rodolphe

    Hello,
What is the basic settings you have in the Query Properties basic setting tab
    Try making it mandatory

  • Issue opening BEx query in Query designer

    Hi Expert,
I am facing issue while trying to open a query in the BEx query designer. The query designer opens, then i search for the query and double click to open it. The system hangs there and the query never opens up.
    System details BW 7.3 SP9

    Hi Anupama,
Check your system SAP GUI is latest one or not.
If not ,then uninstall your existing SAP GUI along with all Bex client tool(ex -Analyser,Query Designer, etc) and install latest one.
I already faced same issue .so your problem will solved after doing above steps.

  • Authorization issues in Bex Analyzer

    Hello,
Can somebody help me with an authorization challenge I’m working on? For certain reports a user should me authorized to see key figures for a certain area and this area is divided into several units. This is the high level report authorization. But when they want to see more detail in the report (the can drill down the person responsible or the customer for example) the user is only allowed to see the key figures of his own unit. To make this possible we have created two authorization roles:
    Role 1
    Area                          *
    Unit                          11
    Person Responsible          *
    Customer               *
    Role 2
    Area                    *
    Unit                    *
    Person Responsible          :
    Customer               :
When executing the query with the characteristics ‘area’ and ‘unit’ in the rows and ‘person responsible’ and ‘Customer’ in the free characteristics there are no authorization issues. But when in the query result the user wants to drill down ‘person responsible’ the error message “You do not have authorization to read object XXX”. I expected that the details would only be shown for unit 11. To be able to show the details the user must now first remove the drill down, filter the unit they have authorization for and then drill down the ‘person responsible’ again. This is considered a workaround but not desirable. Is there a different way to solve this issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Petra van Noort

    Hi,
Have you tried to include a authorization variable on your report that filters 'Unit'?
I'm not sure of what will happen if you use it (maybe you'll always filter your report on '11' unit, or maybe you get different filter values depending on your drill down status, which is what you want).
    It's just a thought...
    Regards,
    David.

  • Regarding Bex Query

    Hi All
There is an issue....when i am trying to run my query in Bex Analyzer then its giving some error regarding Read Mode... and asking to go to Query Monitor (transaction RSRT1) here i am finding these two errors...
    Invalid read mode
    Error when generating dataProvider
Any suggestion would be highly helpful.
    Thank you .
    Regards
    Shivanjali

    OSS note: 432596
    Summary
    Symptom
Invalid read mode. For repair: RSRT (OK code =RMRP)
    Additional key words
    Cause and prerequisites
    Longtext of this message:
A number of querues often have by mistake the read mode "Read all at once". In many cases, this causes performance problems. To avoid this type of error, the above warning message appears when you execute a query that has been generated with this read mode.
    Solution
Change the read mode before you execute the query: You can change the read mode of a specific query using transaction RSRT. Choose Query -> Read mode to set the read mode for a selected query. If this warning message is displayed when you call up a query, you have to change the default read mode for new InfoCube queries in Customizing for BW (Tools > Business Engineer > BW Customizing > SAP Reference IMG ). The default read mode is under the node "BW Customizing Implmentation Guide > Business Information Warehouse > Reporting-Relevant Settings > Set Read Mode for InfoCube
You can also change the read mode for all queries and the default read mode for all InfoCubes using transaction RSRT. Choose Environment -> Repair read mode. This is where you can change all non-allowed read modi to "Subsequenlty read by navigation".
    cheers

    Hi,
First check the server(developement, quality or production) where you have created the query.
Try to create the query in quality server and then copy the program in development. This kind of problem I  faced once in that I had create the query in development so I was facing prolem but after create the query in quality it generate some different code.
That quality code in copied in development and then tried to execute it was working fine.
Check in program whether at some place they are passing program name as value. If it like that then replace it with your program name.
    Hope it will help you.
