Auto generate forms in Oracle BPM 10.3?

Is there an option to auto generate a form in Oracle BPM 10.3?
The scenario is like I(as a customer) have to fill a form with few details. the next I want (in the process) is, to auto generate a form with these details and a few extra ones...how is this possible?
Im a newbie to Oracle BPM!:)
thanks in advance

There's no out of the box way to automatically generate a form on the fly from a customer perspective.
There are three ways forms are usually created in Oracle BPM 10g. You can use the out of the box BPM Object presentations, hand code JSPs based on a BPM Object using a tag library Oracle provides, and hitting external web pages.
Of the three, BPM Object presentations are the easiest if your team is unfamiliar with JSPs. BPM Object presentations are very simple to build initially - there's a wizard that prompts you for the attributes (fields) to display and the sequence you want them displayed. As the UI is built, you'll see text labels automatically added to the left of the fields. The labels added are based on the attribute's name. Modifying the presentations after they are build is fairly easy using a table and cell drag and drop paradigm.
If you're a JSP shop, you should definitely go the JSP route.
If your development team is building forms using another technology and are heavily invested in this, then go the external route.
Hope this helps,
Dan

    Hi All,
Could anybody please let me know if we can create master details form in Oracle BPM too? If yes kindly help me in this regard. Thanks

    Hi,
I tested it on JDev12c and also works:
    Couple of tips:
    - Try to keep your payload as small as possible. Check this post: http://avioconsulting.com/blog/decoupling-oracle-bpm-process-instance-information If you put all your information on XML is like you have two databases and is annoying to keep them sync.
    - if you decouple your data, you will be able your UIs, so you could create an ADF app with bounded taskflows (e.g.: Master-Detail) and embed it on your ADF-HumanTask app.
    Hope this helps,

  • BPM: Auto Generate Form

If i create a Human task and attach a FORM to it, then i get in Oracle BPM the following error message:
    404 Not Found
    OracleJSP: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
Setzen Sie den Init-Parameter debug_mode auf "true", um die vollständige Exception-Meldung anzuzeigen.

    Okay:
Jdeveloper misses to deploy the file:
    payload-body.jsp
I copied one, which i found in SOA-Order-Booking.
Then i got the following error:
    500 Internal Server Error
This is ok, because the data structure in this payload-body.jsp is matched to the SOADemo and not to my application.
    1. Why is this payload-body.jsp not generated from jdeveloper?
    2. How can i generate this file?

  • Port used for task display form in Oracle BPM Worklist from SOA human task

My problem is that when I click on my task in worklist it is trying to show the task flow UI in a frame using port 7101 which is my admin server instead of port 7102 which is my SOA server where the task display form is actually deployed.
I have an admin server running on port 7101 and a managed server with SOA configured running on port 7102. My application contains a soa composite project and a task flow project that was auto-generated from the human task in my composite. The applications deploys successfully to the soa server and I can run my BPEL process successfully and see the task show up in worklist.
I have modified hwtaskflow.xml with this:
    <TaskFlowServer>
    <hostName>localhost</hostName>
    <httpPort>7102</httpPort>
    <httpsPort>8002</httpsPort>
    </TaskFlowServer>
    I access worklist at: http://localhost:7102/integration/worklistapp/
But when I click on my task in worklist, the task display form is being referenced at
    http://<ip address>:7101/workflow/VacationRequestTaskFlow/faces......
    instead of
    http://localhost:7102/workflow/VacationRequestTaskFlow/faces......
Any ideas? After changing hwtaskflow.xml I redeployed and restarted everything and it still doesn't work.

Actually my config.xml does not have have two soa_server1 entries ... it has only two <server> entries but each one also has an SSL entry; see below. (This was not done by me BTW, but rather when I ran the domain configuration wizard)
I don't think the problem has to do with the SSL entries, because those ports are not getting used. The default port for my human task is 7101 (DefaultServer) instead of 7102 (soa_server1). Once I changed the port using the EM it seems to remember it when I deploy new revistions of that composite but anytime I deploy a new composite for the first time, the port for the task display form is incorrectly set to 7101.
How exactly does worklist determine which port and URI to use for a human task's display form? Does it iterate through all the registered task display forms to find one that is registered for the given human task? (ie its not a property of the human task itself, but rather a property of the registered ADF display forms).

  • Auto-generate form fields from PDF in LiveCycle?

I have a PDF created with InDesign that is destined to be an interactive PDF form. For previous versions I have imported it into Acrobat and had it generate the fields based on the text columns I layed out in InDesign.
I wanted to try for more function in my form, so I thought I'd use LiveCycle, but I can't figure out how to get it to automatically create form fields when I first import the PDF. Is this not something that LiveCycle does, or am I just missing something?

    Hi,
I don't like automatically generated PDFs.
But sure you can create this with the LCD. The only thing is that the acrobat recognize lines (for example) and place a textobject to this location. The LCD not really.
    Open the LCD
    Then select "New Form".
    Then select "Import PDF".
    Then select "Create"
Then the software will try to recognize everything..
My opinion is - THE BEST WAY to create a formular is this to create by myself in the LCD step by step. Then this software has so many possibilities...for really good PDFs.
    Kind regards Mandy

  • Auto-Generate Task Form in Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0

    Greetings!
I am studying SOA Suite from some books like "WS-BPEL 2.0 for SOA Composite Applications with Oracle SOA Suite 11g" and "Getting Started with Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 – A Hands-On Tutorial". These books say that in order to generate a task form using a human task in Bpel you have to right click the human task and should appear a menu option called "Auto-generate Task Form" however this option doesn't show up in my Jdeveloper. Anybody kwnows why?
I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 with SOA Composite Editor     11.1.1.4.0.56.82.
My platform is Windows 7 Professional 64 bits.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks!
    Ramiro Ortiz

    Hi Ramiro
In JDeveloper, on left side, in Application Navigator tab, select and double clikck your .task file. On right side, in the central window, you will see that Task Details in different tabs. Like on right side, you will see General, Data like. On right side, at the TOP of the central window, there will be a drop down box. Just click on that drop down box, you should see an option like Create or Generate Form something like that. You select that, and it will open a dialog to select a new Project. There give a new Project Name instead of selecting the existing project. Enter the new project name and it will generate the taskDetails.jsp with all other files in that new project.
If you do not see this option to auto generate form, in the central window. Since you already created human task, I am assuming you updated your JDeveloper with 2 Plugins from help -> Update menu like for SOA Composite Editor and BPM Editor (BPM Only if you want BPM specific stuff).

  • Deploying a large Oracle BPM Application with multiple UI projects

    Hi everyone
I'm working on a large application with Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5.0.
I'm using JDeveoper 11.1.1.5.0 to build the application.
The application has lots of user tasks with lots of UI projects (one for each user task).
My problem is, each time I make a small change in the project, I have to deploy the whole thing, which includes one main project and five or six UI projects (for now) for the user tasks.
As the application gets bigger I'm sure this will definitely become an issue.
So my question is if I'm doing this the right way? or should there be a more efficient way?
    Thanks in advance
Edited by: luke on Apr 17, 2012 12:16 AM

    Hi Luke
    1. Generally, there is NO need to have One UI Project for one individual Task. Say you have like 10 Tasks (.task files) like Initiator, Approver, Reviewer, LegalApprover etc etc. You can have just One UI TaskForms Project and have taskDetails.jspx generated for each one of these Tasks. This is the preferred way.
    2. Any Workflow Application should have just 2 deployers. Means one deploy is for actual Workflow stuff that will have the main BPEL or BPM Process, human Tasks etc etc. Basically all that goes into workflow project. And another deployer is the REST of the things means the TaskForms UI Project and any other supporting projects like EJB projects, utils projects, any WebServices projects (if you have WebServices). All these will be deployed as one SINGLE EAR.
Lets take an Example from JDeveloper IDE point of view.
    1. Application Name: SalesOrderApp
    2. Workflow Project Name: SalesProcess (This is a a jdeveloper project of type BPM Project or SOA Project and has all human tasks, bpels, bpm process, business rules etc etc).
    3. UI Project: SalesTaskForms (This is a auto generated form for the very first Task that you choose. Then for rest of the Tasks use this same Project, to generate jspx for all other .TASK files. REFER online docs on how to do this. I will see if I can compile this list of urls for you).
    3. Supporting EJB Projects: MyEJBProject1 (Some EJB Project that connects to some backend database specific to your project)
    4. Supporting another EJB Service Project: MyExtServiceProject1 (Like another EJB Project, that pulls data from some external source)
    5. Some WebService Project: SalesCreditCardValidationWebService (Some WebService Project to be deployed as .WAR file that does some service).
Try to apply SOA Concepts for each Service that your application needs. Instead of putting all the EJBs and everying in one single giant project, try to split them logically/business need wise and geenrate separate projects so that they can service as it is to other projects and other apps.
Anyhow, coming back, in above Example, you should have jsut 2 Deployement: 1 is Workflow SCA JAR File and other is full EAR file.
    a) For the Workflow Project, right click and generate a Deployment profile to deploy just this workflow and NOT any other UI Projects.
    b) For each individual project genereate a deployment profile like MyEJBProj1, MyEJBProj2, MyWebService1 etc etc.
    c) For TaskForms project also, generate a deployment profile like SalesTaskForms. This will be a WAR file.
    d) At Application Level, create a new Deployment profile of type EAR and now assemble all the projects under this EAR except for the Workflow project.
First you deploy Workflow SCA JAR file. You need to redeploy this again only when you make changes to workflow, humantasks etc etc.
Deploy full blown EAR file that has all the stuff (EJB JARs, TaskForm WARs, WebService WARs etc).
Anytime you change taskforms, or any java or ejb code, ReDeploy EAR file.
You should have one JAR and one EAR to deploy at the end of the day. Infact this is how it should go into UAT and Production. They should not have multiple JARs, multiple WARs to deploy. The reason we have separate Workflow SCA Jar file is, bcos workflow will not change frequenly. And also older versions of SOA/BPM (before 11.5 FP) have a huge disadvantage. Everytime we deploy workflow project, it will make all existing process STALE unless you deploy with a diff version. This is not an issue any more for 11.5 + FP (Feature Pack applied). Hence be careful when you redeploy workflow project.
    Thanks

  • How to auto-generate a "empno" field at run time in oracle forms 6i

    Hello!
I have connected to a SCOTT schema. And i am using emp table. At run time mode when i press F8 then the data is displayed in the fields.
My task is to generate auto "empno" as soon as i run the form. Kindly do the needful.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Francios,
I think with your solution our user only able to see the current information in the form.I donot think it will auto generate the empno.
    Dear user,
I suggest what you can do is to create one sequence in your database and use it to generate automatic
    empno.
In post query trigger try to implement the idea.
Suppose in the name of the sequence is empno_seq.
    if emp.empno is null then
    :emp.empno := empno_seq+1;
    end if;
Try i hope it will work

  • PDF generated report in Oracle Forms

    Hi folks,
I'm new in this forum and I want help on how can I generate a report in PDF format just using Oracle Forms (not Oracle Reports).
This report will be assembled using some parameters that the user will fill in a form when the program starts. When the user click on a button on the form, based on that information, the program will go to the database to recover some data, and then will assemble the report to be shown to the user in a Adobe Reader screen.
Is it necessary to use the built in CLIENT_OLE2 or anything else?
    Thanks

Following these simple guidelines will ensure you have a positive experience in any forum; not just this one! ;-)
Lets start with some of the basics. What is your Forms version, Client OS version; if web deployed, your browser and Java versions and any error messages you might be receiving.
...how can I generate a report in PDF format just using Oracle Forms (not Oracle Reports). What's wrong with using Oracle Reports to produce the PDF file? Manually generating a PDF file means you have to manually format your output and then write it to a PDF file. Oracle Reports is a whole lot easier than this and not prone to the errors you are going to have by manually generating the output.
If you absolutely have to create your report this way, then I recommend you let the database handle the creation of the file and then simply use Forms to transfer the output file to the client. For this, you would use the WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.DB_TO_CLIENT or DB_TO_CLIENT_WITH_PROGRESS fucntions to send the file to the client. We need to know the information I request above before we could give you assistance with this.

  • How to set the AS2 fileName for outbound Functional Ack 997 auto generated by Oracle B2B

    Hi Friends,
How to set the AS2 fileName for outbound Functional Ack 997 auto generated by Oracle B2B.
External Trading Partner is sending the EDI 856 via AS2 URL to our Oracle B2B Server.
In the inbound 856 agreement, we have checked the option of Funtional Ack and also Functiona Ack handled by B2B is yes.
We have the outbound agreement which is sending that Functional ack 997 (auto generated by oracle b2b) and we have specified the Outbound AS2 channel of the Partner.
997 doc is being sent to external partner using AS2 channel, but the filename is generating as '40101'.
Please can you let me know how to set the AS2 fileName for outbound Functional Ack 997 auto generated by Oracle B2B.
    Appreciate your valuable answers!!
    Thanks,
    Amirineni

    Amirineni,
AFAIK, there is no option to set the file name when the 997 is generated automatically by B2B.
Alternatively, if this is a must requirement, you can generate the FA from backend and  send to B2B with MSG_TYPE =9. In this case, you can set the header with filename (How to set the actionname property in B2B 11g)

  • How do you remove or change auto generated text in returned form e-mails?

    Hello,
I am currently using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional (Version 8.1.3) to create a form that will be sent to a group of people.  When testing it, I've noticed that when the end user presses the "SUBMIT FORM" button and a new e-mail opens with the completed form attached, the following text is automatically added to the body of the e-mail:
    Form Returned: XXXXXXX.pdf
Instructions to add this form to a data set:
    1. Double-click the attachment.
    2. Acrobat will prompt you to select a data set.
What I need to know is whether or not there is a way to either prevent this auto generated text from appearing or revise it so it gives a custom message instead.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Jeff

It sounds like you are getting a basic message that is telling you submitting the PDF is unnecessary and asking if you want to submit the data instead. I have not seen this one before, but that is my guess. If you are using the form fields created in Acrobat (not Designer), then just select FDF or XML for the data type to be submitted, not the form.

  • CF 9.0.2 and Oracle - On update returns error "Auto-generated keys were not requested..."

We have a simple update statement to Oracle 11g Database. When running the statement the data is not getting updated and we are getting an error "Auto-generated keys were not requested, or the SQL was not a simple INSERT statement. ErrorCode=0 SQLState=HY000". We found this error by dumping the SQL to a file.
But most other Update statements are working fine.
Also, the same statment works for Oracle 10g and Coldfusion 9.0.0.
Any idea if this is a problem with Coldfusion or Oracle? Is there any resolution.
I found the CF 8 had a similar issue and was fixed in a hotfix (http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/error-auto-generated-keys-requested.html).

    Hi,
Thanks. I compiled my code using JDeveloper 10.1.2, didn't dare to use the latest. It works in 10g apps server. When I deployed to 9ias apps server, those weird errors showed up. Unfornately, our dev environment is at a newer version than the production one.
So, you think the error is generated because I referenced some newer technologies that was not provided by 9ias?

  • Auto-generate new form as additional page

I have a form I created in Adobe Acrobat. Is there a way that Acrobat can be set to auto-generate that form on additional pages as the need arises or is the only way to do this is create the additional pages initially?

Yes, a form created in Acrobat can do this by spawning a hidden template page using JavaScript. If it has to work with Reader, however, you users will have to use Reader 11. It can work with older versions of Reader, but only if the document has been Reader-enabled with LiveCycle Reader Extensions, as opposed to just Acrobat.
