Auto-hostep app with custom master page does not allow custom workflows

This has been troubling us all day. We have a sharepoint 2013 auto-hosted app. We wanted to simply change the site logo of the master page but it was easier said than done. Finally we had to create our own custom master page with our own site logo to overcome
this issue.
Now we are trying to add a custom workflow in our app. But the instalment of the app always fail with this message:

After many hours of searching I came across this
post that sums up the problem to this:
Do not use the WebTemplate element in the app manifest to designate any of the built-in SharePoint site definition configurations as the app web's site type. We do not support using any of the built-in site definition configurations, other than APP#0, for app webs.
Thus, if you would like to include your workflow to SharePoint-hosted app, you have to use APP#0 template.
I am fairly new to the sharepoint 2013 app development and having so many problems just because we wanted to have a different site logo is making us focus out of the important stuff of our app. Isn't there a simple way for us to change the app's site logo
and add a custom workflow? Has anyone come up with a solution?

Have you configured SharePoint Workflow Manager in the farm? Not sure if you are familiar with but in SharePoint 2013, there's a new component called Workflow Manager that needs to be configured to use SharePoint 2013 workflow.

I am using SharePoint Online. I have enabled the following site feature:
Workflows can use app permissions
Allow workflows to read from and to write to all items in this site.
just in case but it makes no difference. When I stop using my custom masterpage the app can install just fine and the workflow is working. When the custom masterpage is enabled the app won't install with the workflow. I am required to remove the workflow
to install the app.

'Master Options' for editing a master spread does not allow me to edit it.

I am trying to create various masters to a documents based on the original A Master.
instructions on InDeign Help, I selected the master I wish to edit,.
selected "Master Options' but it does not allow me to edit the new B master.
WTF?

The reason for basing one master on another is that they need to have the same content on both masters, with other non-shared content on one or more. It makes sense most times to start with a Master page that contains only the shared content.

/uwc page does not allow log in after installation of sun jes 4

I am sure I have seen this before but am not sure how to remedy this - basically trying to log in on the /uwc/auth page does not give an error with any user but just wipes the username and password and returns the log in page again - anyone have any idea?

As Pages templates cannot be ordered in folders, my many templates are effectively unusable now and I need to find another way to order and access them.

Are you aware of that you can still use Pages 09 on Mavericks? You don't have to go thru the grieves of using the crippled Pages 5. Pages 09 should bi in Applications/iWork 09 folder.

Firefox with GoogleDocs, "Your browser does not allow access to your computer's clipboard." Solution?

This question was asked two months ago and never solved, so I thought I'd bring it up again, as it's new to me and perhaps Firefox has changed since then. I know it's Google, but as it pokes at Firefox, thought I'd take a shot. This is the previous question:

Basically, when using GoogleDocs with a right-click cut/copy and paste, it doesn't function. I get the error message above: "Your browser does not allow access to your computer's clipboard." It's as simply broken as that. I recently had an issue in Firefox with the clipboard that required a system restore to solve, so that may be related.
I have done three different virus/malware scans on my computer, and everything comes back clean. Which it should be, as I'm a very careful user.

Yes, that was the first thing that I tried. I really couldn't get it to do... anything useful at all. So I'm guessing it's somehow different in detail, though the question is the same; Firefox vs. the Windows clipboard. It's difficult of course, when working with Google, to figure out where Firefox's code issues end and Google's overblown invasive code begins.
At any rate, no, that extension did not help. But thank you for the suggestion.
I'm sure that there's a solution out there somewhere....

Adobe customer portal site does not allow me to choose my product and coninue

How can I contact Adobe Support when I get the below screen with the continue button greyed out? It does not allow me to choose my own product "Captivate" or any other one.

When I email the support email address for Africa I get no response.
When I change my region to Africa it defaults back to USA.
I am in the process of buying a multi user licence for the entire Adobe suite for my company "MTN South Africa" and is concerend about the above in case we need support from Adobe. Using the USA server is incredibly slow and we waste a lot of time opening the forums, knowlege base etc. I just timed it by clicking on the "support" link and it takes 26 secpnds to open. You can imagine wating half a minute when you navigate through the forumes, help files. support etc.

Photoshop button added to master page does not apply to correct spot on pages attached

When working on the master page on the tutorial for Muse, after adding the photoshop button, it does not align correctly to the pages that are attached with the master file? It ends up underneath the footer and expanding the page longer than i fixed it to? How can I fix this?

Try to optimize the image that you are using, this can happen if you are using original file size being large enough to expand.

Changing number of columns on master page, does not affect pages?

I create a master page. say three columns per spread.
I go to actual pages, flow my type in with the loaded cursor and holding the shift key... it works like a charm... text flows in the three colums, adding pages until the end of the manuscript...
Now I decide I don't like the three columns. I go to the master page and change to 4 columns via "margins and columns..." under LAYOUT menu
I go to the pages assuming that any change in a masterpage will translate to the pages... NOT!
If I go to to my first page, the type is still in three colums...
All other changes I make on the masterpage do translate to the pages... like say a color bar at the top, the size and font of the folios... BUT NOT if I change the number of columns???
Can anyone shed light on this?

You MUST tick the Option for "Master Text Frame" when Creating a new document.
OR you MUST include a Text Frame with the number of Columns on the master page.
Copy the text to the clip board
Delete all page except page 1
remove the existing text frame.
Drag the Master A to the page 1
CTRL or CMD (MAC) click shift the text frame to break it from the master.
Now paste your text in here
Insert a new page
And click the Overload (red cross) button and connect it to the page 2 hodling down shift.
From memory - hope I got it right !

Dispatch to custom 401 page does not always happen

I configured custom error401.jspx page to be dispatched to if user enters invalid credentials at login page or if authenticated user attempts direct url access to a page he is not authorized to access. This works most of the time, but sometimes instead of dispatching to 401 page system dispatches to Login page (the user is already logged in so this should not happen!). When this happens Login page looks like original ADF faces page but "face" color is lost, i.e. page is all black and white and it contains message Invalid username and password.
I configured ADF security to also dispatch to this 401 page in case of unauthorized access.
I am using jdev 10.1.3.2.
What is causing this behavior? It seems to happen more often on standalone than embedded oc4j. I checked web.xml and everything points to custom 401 page if unauthorized attempt. userInfo managed bean is identical to SRDemo.
Is there a workaround?

it is not loss of session as if I click Back button on browser I can proceed with application as currently logged in user.
I reproduce this in following way:
- I try to login as userA/roleA with wrong credentials
=> system dispatches to error401 page.....................OK
- on error401 page I click Home button which replicates SRLogout backing bean function...OK
=> system re-renders Login page...............OK
- I login as userA with correct credentials
=> system renders welcome page.............OK
- I use application as userA..................OK
- I try to access page accessible only to userB/roleB, using direct url access
=> system dispatches to error401 page...........................OK
- On error401 page (or clicking Back button on browser to go to previous page) I, (still logged in as userA/roleA) try to direct url access page belonging to userC/roleC
=> this time oc4j immediately dispatches to Login page (instead of error401 page) with message Invalid username and password...................................NOT OK
So it seems first time only it dispatches correctly but subsequent attempts it always go to Login page although session is not expired

When I start or reboot the mp3 player it hangs at the 'CREATIVE' logo and stops responding. This started 3 weeks ago.
I followed the steps below as suggested by Creative's knowledge base:.) Clean up2.) Format3.) Reload Firmware4.) Reboot
At each of these steps the player does not hang (I can hear the sound feedback when I touch the control buttons), but I stays there for hours saying i.e. 'Cleaning up', 'Erasing Firmware'

MaxDB: Table with many LONG fields does not allow an INSERT: ...?

I have a table with many LONG fields (28). So far, everythings works fine.
However, if I add another LONG field I cannot insert a dataset anymore
(29 LONG fields).
Does there exist a MaxDB parameter or anything else I can change to make inserts possible again?

You are right. This table looks a bit strange. The story behind it is: Each crystal report in the application has a few textblocks which are the same for all the e.g. persons the e.g. letter is created for. Principally, the textblocks could be directy added to the crystal report. However, as it is often the case, these textblocks may change once in a while. Thus, I put the texts of the textblock into this "strange" db table (one row for each report, one field for each textblock, the name of the report is given by "ztb_nameofreport"). And the application offers a menue by which these textblocks can be changed. Of course, the fields in the table could be of type CHAR, but LONG has the advantage that I do not have to think about the length of the field, since sometime the texts are short and sometimes they are really long.
(These texts would blow up the sql select command of the crystal report very much if they were integrated into the this select command. Thus it is realized in another way: the texts are read before the crystal report is loaded, then the texts are "given" to the crystal report (by its parameters), and finally the crystal report is loaded.)

The customer still has Win98 clients. MaxDB odbc driver 7.5.00.26 does not work for them. I got the hint to use odbc driver 7.3 (see [lists.mysql.com/maxdb/25667|lists.mysql.com/maxdb/25667]). Do MaxDB 7.6 and odbc driver 7.3 work together?
All Win98 clients may be replaced by WinXP clients in the near future. Then, an upgrade may be reasonable.

In the first MaxDB version I used, schemas were not available. I haven't changed it afterwards. Is there an easy way to "move an existing table into a new schema"?

Starting iTunes 11 with the option key does not allow me to link my ipad with Remote

I am using my Macbook Pro as a pure music server with a 2TB external USB 3 HD where all my music resides in a single folder. Yet when I start iTunes by holding the option key (to allow iTunes to see the 2TB folder and not import all my music), the Devices tab is grayed out and hence my iPad3 is not recognised. As a result, I cannot use Apple's Remote App.
The same hardware, does allow my to import a small named Library when the iPad is recognised.
What gives? Any suggestions would help me to keep my hair!

You may also want to test it out in Safe Mode with Networking to see if anything changes. Since Skype uses IE in the background make sure you Internet Explorer is able to browse web pages without restriction or that it isn't in some type of forced offline mode.

ICloud preferences do not load; mail does not exit ; safari does not exit;pages does not allow to open file from cloud

Since Mavericks I am experiencing problems most probably related to iCloud:
the iCloud preference pane takes minutes to open; mail tasks hang on iCloud mail account ; Pages hangs before displaying list of icloud files.
I have managed to stop the problems by disabling the iCloud keychain - so it may well be related to that.
Any similar experiences or even solutions ?

Having troubles with a firefox page and not allowing me to change my homepages

Everytime I open Firefox the tab "http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/9.0.1/whatsnew/" opens and I can't stop it. Even though it isn't set as a homepage. Also, I can't change my homepages. When I change them, the changes aren't saved, it reverts to the original ones. Also, I am running the latest version
