Auto-managed UDFs
Hi,
I searched for info on this in the forum history but had no luck.
Im having difficulty using a UDF. It is a form that we manually fill using data from either of two different sources: another form or a UDT in the database.
When we fill it from the other form, it should end up in the add mode to enable saving the data to the table or cancelling the form without saving. The 1 button should say Add and save the data to the database when clicked. The 2 button should say Cancel and cancel the form when clicked.
When we fill it from the UDT in the database, it should end up in the OK mode because there is no need to saving anything. The purpose here is to allow the user to only view data.
I set forms auto-managed property to True in the Screen Painter. Is this how a UDF is supposed to work when auto-managed?
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Mike
Have you tried creating a UDO of your UDT and then setting the forms "Type" property = "YourUDOName".
With the form set to automanaged you will get the default B1 form behaviour when the user presses "Ctrl - A", "Ctrl - F" as well as automatically add/edit data without any DI work.

Oracle 10g is an auto managed database. Why ?
Oracle 10g is an auto managed database. Why ?
I have read that with 10g version, Oracle database will need very less management, since it can be configured to automanage itself. Sounds not believable.
Apart from auto extending tablespaces, what others tasks can be automanaged in Oracle DB 10 G release ?
Please discuss.

Auto-Managed configurations via WLSE 2.15
I'm managing a very large roll out of AIR-AP1131AG access points, all in autonomous mode, using a WLSE running version 2.15.
Due to the current network environment, these are all being shipped out with a basic configuration as there is no dhcp service at the remote sites. I'm then using the WLSE to push out a full config to the newly installed access points.
I can manually create a configuration job and push out the final config to access points that have already been discovered and managed by the WLSE. However, I've never been able to get the Auto-Managed config option to work - the WLSE never attempts to push a config when the devices are first discovered and managed.
I hope I'm just missing something (not so) obvious in the WLSE config.
In the WLSE interface, under Configure->Auto Update->Auto-Managed Configuration->Assign Templates, I have a template created, the Enable box is checked, I have a known-good configuration template selected, and under Matching Criteria: I have Device Types checked with AP 1130 in the selection box. I also have Update device credentials checked and Copy Running configuration to Startup configuration checked.
Under Auto-Managed Configuration Options I have SSH selected as the protocol, and Email results of auto-managed configuration jobs to (my email address).
The WLSE never tries to push a config to access points when they're first managed, so I have to manually find the newly-discovered access points and create a configuration job to push the configs to them.
I have a TAC case open on this issue, but I'm having a tough time just getting the TAC engineer to respond.
What might I be missing here?
Thanks...Such issues have happened occaisonally . I usually go about by resetting and reconfiguring WLSE from the beginning. Now I have plans to upgrade the software to see if it resolves the issue.

Hi there experts,
I'm just curious if its possible to have an auto increment number on udf ? I have a test server and I'm just curios about it but I don't know if its possible or not.
Thanks in advance guys.
Warm regards,
TonyHi Tony,
Say you created an udf U_Test for marketing document AR Invoice.
Now you want an auto increment on that udf for every invoice created, then you need to use the following FMS;
Select max(T0.[U_Test])+1 from OINV T0 where T0.Series = $[OINV.Series]
execute this query in query generator and save it. Press AltshiftF2 on udf and assign this formatted search in this udf.
You may set it to auto refresh on docnum else you may press shift+F2 to get the desired output. Hope this helps.
All the best!!
Thanks,

Help!! Askin about ITunes manual and auto manage!!
I was told by a friend that i could import my cd's, choose to manually update my library and not have to keep the albums (cd's) on my hard drive but yet still be able to have it in itunes and on my ipod, Is this true,,is it possible?? If so,,, some please explain!! -Thanks
You can do it but if you do you need to come up with some type of backup plan, Because when you have to restore the ipod due to some error/issue or you wipe the ipod blank (And the day will come) you will be screwed without backups on CD because you removed the files from the PC.
If you are wanting to do it due to limited harddrive space, you should think about buying a new internal harddrive or external harddrive.
That said, all you have to do (In iTUnes 7) is check "Manually manage songs" on the ipods summary page and hit "Apply" in the lower righthand corner. In this mode you manually drag songs (Or playlist) in iTUnes to the ipods name and drop it for it to be added to the ipod.
Once added to the ipod, Highlight the song in iTUnes library and hit the "Del" key on the keyboard -
Where's that "Auto-Manage' Environment view setting?
I can't find it in the manual or the program, but I know it's there somewhere...
Where the heck's that little checkbox to make the Arrange page automatically manage new strips in the environment?
You'd think it'd be trackmixer/options... Nope. Trackmixer/view - nope. Environment window/view Nope. Environment window/options - nope. Preferences/display - nope.
Ya ever notice how many redundant menus this behemoth has? Hadn't bugged me much, till now.Fab - thanks. Musta looked right past it in my hurry -- never expected it to be under 'audio' settings. But I guess it kinda sorta makes sense. Maybe.
You'd really think this would be in at least one of the mixer or environment "view" or "options" menus. Since it mostly deals with viewing options in the mixer. But hey - that's too Logical, innit!
thanks again. -
Auto-Managed forms and DbDataSource.Offset
I have defined a custom form that navigates a list of UDO's.
However, when I navigate the objects using the 1st/prev/next/last button, the bound fields do change as expected, but DBDatasource.Offset still is set to 0!
Is there a way to correctly reset Offset while navigating?
If this doesn't work, how do I retrieve the correct values? Not sure what you mean:
If I am not totally wrong the Offset is "0"-based + form / DBDataSource is moved to just 1 UDO record (1st/next/...).
So nothing is wrong with that.
The .Offset property of DBDataSource is the "index" of the record in the result set which is built up of the records retrieved in the DB according to the condition applied (here only the data for the particular record to be displayed are loaded - i.e. the condition is unique like DocEntry = 4).
.Offset is <b>not</b> pointing to the record in the DB.
What do you mean by "how do I retrieve the correct values"???
You can use GetValue to get the key of the record and do whatever you like... -
Why would you use a managed service account rather than a virtual account in SQL Server 2012?
In SQL Server 2012, service accounts are created as
virtual accounts (VAs), as described
here, as opposed to
managed service accounts (MSAs).
The important differences I can see for these, based on the descriptions:
MSAs are domain accounts, VAs are local accounts
MSAs use automagic password management handled by AD, VAs have no passwords
in a Kerberos context, MSAs register SPNs automatically, VAs do not
Are there any other differences? If Kerberos is not in use, why would a DBA ever prefer an MSA?
UPDATE:
Another user has noted a
possible contradiction in the MS docs concerning VAs:
The virtual account is auto-managed, and the virtual account can access the network
in a domain environment.
versus
Virtual accounts cannot be authenticated to a remote location. All virtual accounts
use the permission of machine account. Provision the machine account in the format
<domain_name>\<computer_name>$.
What is the "machine account"? How/when/why does it get "provisioned"? What is the difference between "accessing the network in a domain environment" and "authenticating to a remote location [in a domain environment]"?Hi,
“Virtual accounts cannot be authenticated to a remote location. All virtual accounts use the permission of machine account. Provision the machine account in the format <domain_name>\<computer_name>$.”
“The virtual account is auto-managed, and the virtual account can access the network in a domain environment. If the default value is used for the service accounts during SQL Server setup on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7, a virtual account
using the instance name as the service name is used, in the format NT SERVICE\<SERVICENAME>”
Per the above description, they are two concepts and not conflict with each other.
As you understand, virtual account access network resources by using the credentials of the computer account. Generally, computer account will not be granted permission unless giving the computer account permission on the shared folder manually.
Thanks.

Dear All,
Would like to ask if it is possible to add a udf in the Sales Analysis Report?
since this report only have Customer Code, Customer Name, A/R invoice, Total A/R Invoice and GP, i would like to show the COGS / unit price ...
thanks in advanceHi Tac,
In the Standard Report it is not possible to define and assign a UDF field. A UDF field can be assigned to the forms which are available in the Manage UDF.
Regards,
Jitin -
Hi,
Is it possible to incorporate Master Data UDF's in XL Reporter? In the XLR Manage UDF menu, I can only see the Marketing Doc UDF's (eg AR/AP). Thank you.All UDF's should be visible Allan. The only time I have seen UDF's not appear is when they have the same name in SAP in different areas, which you can do in SAP, but cannot do in XL Reporter ie a BP Master Data UDF "Account No", and a UDF on Marketing Docyments "Account No". Only one will be visible in XL Reporter.

AD- OIM Reconciliation with Manager as Approver of Resources
Hi, I'm trying to setup the following scenario:
AD->OIM Reconciliation with user's manager information. Setup the manager as the user's approver for every resource available in OIM.
When a user gets added to the AD, he is reconciled into OIM and I have made 2 user defined fields, one to store his managers distinguished name and another to store the users - "usr_udf_man_dn" and "usr_udf_dn". This is working fine, both columns get populated on reconciliation.
What I would like to do is assign the manager as the approver for all the resources that are requested by the user. I am thinking of populating the usr_manager_key through an sql query, by matching "usr_udf_man_dn" with "usr_udf_dn" and getting the managers "usr_key", then storing it in usr_manager_key of the user. The query is not my real problem.
As I'm new to OIM, I don't yet know how to build the 'logic' of this process. How and where to I make the query? I'm assuming these fields can only be populated after the user has been reconciled (because there won't be any fields to do an sql query on before that). Do I use an adapter? How do I setup the approval process?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated :)

user638778This is very simple and infact there are 2 ways to do it:
# 1) Create a User Process Trigger that adds on Change Event of your Manager UDF Field. This will kick in as soon as a value is put into the Manager UDF field (doesn't matter - via Recon or by hand). Then create an adapter that looks up a User in AD with the DN (your manager) and returns back a SamAccountName. Based on this returned SamAccountName, get the update the user with manager key. Attach this adapter to your process task event in Xellerate User Process Definition.
# 2) Create an Entity adapter that does the same operation as written in #1. Attach this entity adapter to Xellerate User Update event. This is simpler. Drawback of this is that anytime you update the user (for anything - like last name change , org change etc.) - it will repeat this process of updating the user with its manager key. so any change on employee will trigger the manager update. #1 is more efficient.
As far as the approval processes are concerned, there are 2 ways to achieve that also:
# 1) Attach approval in the standard task and assign it to User's Manager for approval. Limitation is that you can not get rid of this in future once you go production with such a setup. You can but you might not want to.
# 2) Individually on each approval process of each resource object, attach the approval task and assign it to User's Manager. That should do it.
Hope this helps.

Auto-Adjust disabled; mic volume still adjusts.
I have the volume auto-adjust turned off on Skype. Yet the mic volume still automatically adjusts in skype. I often run two instances of Skype. On both accounts, I have the Volume Auto-Adjust option disabled. I have even gone into my computer's hardware settings, and disabled the setting that allows applications to take exclusive control of the microphones I use. Whether the mic is built-in, or USB, Skype still automatically adjusts its volume. I've tried three different microphones and it automatically adjusts all of them. I use Windows 7, 64. Skype is up to date. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a Razer Megalodon. I have used it for a couple years just fine with Ventrilo, Mumble, Raid Call, Teamspeak 1 & 2, others, AND Skype. No problems, until my most recent re-install of Skype. I had Skype uninstalled for several months because i wasn't playing the game(s) that my online friends used Skype as a Voice Client. I recently started playing again, and reinstalled Skype (latest Installer). Now it seems my Microphone Level in the System Sound Options panel (Open Sound Devices> Recording> Microphone Properties> Level) gets auto-managed regardless of the settings in Skype. This is brand new behavior on my system and only happened after installing Skype. It seems to lower the Mic Level in my system even when Skype is closed (R-Click skype in Notification Area> Quit... Then I check Task Manager for Skype in Processes and in Services> End Task/Process Tree if still running). Every time i try to check the way it works in my other voice clients and in the "Microphone Setup Wizard" in windows, the Auto-Leveling behavior is there, even when disabled/turned off in ALL other Microphone using programs including Windows. When i Adjust Skype's Microphone Level from Max to 75%, i can watch the System's Microphone Level drop to 0. When i move the Skype Microphone Level to 0, then move the System Microphone Level to 2 (yes two) it jumps Skype's Microphone Level to Max. Yes, i have disabled any and all "Application Control / Exclusive Mode" options in Windows and all my Voice Clients including Skype. With a little digging, anyone reding this can find that there are settings on the Headset as well... again, i have been using this headset for years without issue, i know how to set it up. As you can imagine, it makes my voice either too soft/muffled to hear, or overpowering with reverb/echo/feedback. As mentioned before, this is NEW behavior since the latest re-install of Skype, and it is affecting my entire system and other Voice Clients now, wheather Skype is running or not. I hope this behavior is not intended by design. I understand the need for Auto-Leveling for those who can't be arsed to learn how their PC works beyond the "Push the Power Button Crowd," however to force those who know how to use a PC (built mine from scratch) and manage their settings properly to use this Auto-Leveling by making it "Always On" is no less than insulting. Please, Please!, tell me this is an accidental side effect and not another intentional "Dumbing Down" tactic by MS.

Ipod auto update. Changing info wrongly
Whenever I add a tune to my itunes library the next time I connect my ipod. It goes through my library randomly changing info for 10 - 20 tracks wrongly about Genre, Year, Album for several tracks, and adding the track number to the tiltle so that an exclamation mark appears in the library to say it cant find the tune (Which ihas now been renamed) I have used a professionl mp3 tagging program. The info being changed by the ipod makes no sense anyway as it is wrong. I really want my music sorted into Genre and Years so this is really frustrating me. Can anyone help? Please! IPOD20gb and latest itunes but old version did same
Sadly, iPod sync is all or nothing.
If you auto-manage, you auto-manage EVERYTHING.

Hi,
Ive just set up ssh with public key crypto, and whenever i try to ssh into a server, gnome keyring manager has taken the liberty of auto managing my private key and pops up a prompt for the passphrase.
How can i turn this off and stick to using the terminal for the passphrase?
Thanks,
JackYou should have a look at the environment variable SSH_ASKPASS in your shell. It seems that this determines, which program is called. How about just uninstall the graphical interface? Check if one of the following packages is installed:
pacman -Ss askpass

ASA 5510 with Cisco 2811 Router Behind it - Not forwarding traffic
Hi all,
Some might know that I have been dealing with an issue where I cannot seem to get forwarded packets to reach their destinations behind an ASA 5510 that has a Cisco 2811 connected directly behind it.
Some examples that work.
I can SSH into the ASA.
I can SSH to the Cisco Routers behind the ASA.
I cannot reach items beind the Cisco Routers.
My Configuration is this (I am sure I included a bunch of info I didn't need to, but I am hoping it'll help!):
I have a static Ip assigned to my Ouside Interface Ethernet 0/1
It has an IP address of 199.195.xxx.xxx
I am trying to learn how to shape network traffic (this is all new to me) via the ASA and the Routers to specific devices.
The Inside Interface on the ASA is 10.10.1.1 255.255.255.252
The Outside Interface on the 2811 is 10.10.1.2 255.255.255.252
I can ping the router from the ASA. I can SSH through the ASA to the router.
BUT I CANNOT ACCESS DEVICES BEHIND THE ROUTER.
So, I wanted to BAM that statement above because I just don't kjnow where the issue is. Is the issue on the router or the ASA, my guess is, the router, but I just don't know.
Here are my configs, helpfully someone can help.
ASA errors on the ASDM when I try and hit resources; specifically a web device behind the ASA and the 2811. It's Ip address 192.168.1.5 it's listening on port 80.Static IP, not assigned via DHCP.

no message-leI ran those commands while I had the nat off on the router and here are the results. note, i didn't make any changes to the ASA as you only said to remove the router RIP which I did and reloaded and no change.
As long as the statements ip nat outside on the Fastethernet 0/0 is off and the ip nat inside is off on the vlan and the overload statement is taken out, I cannot hit the internet.
