AUTO RESOLVE FUNCTION ISSUE REVISITED

Thanks guys for your responses to my auto resolve question. Sorry, I think I gave you some wrong information.
I used the Canon EOS Utility software to download my images directly from my camera. It automatically created a Destination Folder to Pictures (in Adobe Bridge). That is where the Auto Resolve notice appeared. Is anyone familiar with this software or is this not a Bridge issue?

Auto-resolve function in Photoshop

Hi Everyone,
Could someone help me with this issue? I downloaded some very important images and I received a message about some of the images needing to be auto-resolved because of the same image number. When I selected auto resolve, those images did not download. I am in a panic and don't know where those images went. Are they on my computer somewhere or are they lost forever? PLEASE HELP!!

Where did you download these images from?
I'm not sure I've ever heard of or needed this function.
When I download things from the net I do so into a download folder. if names are the same the system or browser will add a 1 or 2 or whatever to the similar name so the files have individual names.

My password for this site will only work a short WHILE, AND THEN it will not be recognized by the site and I cannot get in.
Then I must contact the company to reset or clear it manually on their end so it can be reset. They always give me the SAME SETUP PASSWORD to use. I use it, then I RESET PASSWORD on my end. The computer seems to remember my user NAME AT least on my computer as it comes up once I start typing the username in. They SAY IT is a settings issue on my end. I do not have this problem on any other site even THOSE WITH higher SECURITY. I need to FIX the issue OR may LOSE ACCESS To the site as is very aggravating for them and they say other have had the problem but usually with chrome but never constantly.I am not that computer literate ,but my husband is an IT Security professor and textbook writer but says doesn't really know Firefox. I do not really want to store passwords on computer as have been hacked several times. He and I do not understand some of the terms mentioned. since it is not a problem with other sites it should be fixable. Please me help using terms I or my husband can understand without having to give Firefox all my passwords. I would be happy to set up something different just for this one site if I need to but need easy instructions. Have cleared the cookies before but it still happens. What setting do I need to change or set to fix this? the other questions that come up seem very different and do not apply. FF 22 now but happened w other FF versions.

I'm having a little trouble understanding the part about your password having to be reset. Why is that happening??
Let's start with Firefox's settings:
(1) You can configure the password manager feature on this tab:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Security
There is a checkbox to enable/disable the feature.
There also is a "Saved Passwords" button to review and remove any passwords you do not want Firefox to keep.
That tab also has a feature to set a Master Password so that no one can use your saved passwords without knowing the Master Password. You may need to exit Firefox in order for Firefox to ask for that again.

(2) Site-specific permissions
If you want to use the password manager for other sites but NOT a particular site, you can configure that in the Permissions Manager.
In a new tab, type or paste '''about:permissions''' in the address bar and press Enter.
After the page loads, use the search box in the upper left corner to narrow down the list to the site you want to configure. Highlight the site on the left side, and on the right side, choose Block under Store Passwords.
(3) Form autocomplete suggestions
Separate from passwords, Firefox remembers entries you've made into forms (in most cases) and lists the matching ones below the form field in a drop-down.
To clear a suggestion, press the down arrow key to highlight it and press the Delete key.

Auto resolve not working for cached outlook

We recently migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2010. One thing we have noticed is that auto resolve (to alias name) is not working for Outlook in cached mode. Not in cached mode or via owa, it seems to work fine.

Does the issue happen to all users or some specific users?
Please check whether the issue happens in Outlook Online mode. If the issue only happens in Cached mode but not in Outlook Online mode, please create a new Outlook profile to have a try.
If it doesn't work, please restart Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service in Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 then click Send/Receive > Send/Receive groups > Download Address Book to have a try.

Call to Driver Package Error - Nine Possible Solutions that have Resolved this Issue!

Hello everyone I've decided to write up this guide to discuss and troubleshoot the “Call to Driver Package Error”.
What is it ? What causes it?
This issue normally occurs when a specific driver, that is being called, cannot be called. Sometimes, a 1627 or 1603 error is referenced in the error.
- If a 1603 error is referenced, this indicates that an ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE has occurred, meaning a component of the installation failed. This is normally accompanied when another form of installation occurs.
- If a 1627 error is referenced, this indicates that an ERROR_FUNCTION_FAILURE has occurred, meaning a function at a specific moment has failed, and the installation cannot continue.
Typically, these numbers do not mean a whole lot. However, for an advanced user, these numbers might mean a little bit more.
An example?
"Call to driver package install returned the error 1603 for Pkg C:/ProgramFiles\HP\HP officejet pro 8600\driverstore\ng scan driver\HPWia_OJ8600.INF"
This is the most recent error message I've witnessed. If you break it down, you will notice that “HPWia_OJ8600.INF” is the installation file (INF) that has failed. WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) is crucial for scanning, and the printer installs this file to enable scanning features.
How can you troubleshoot this error?
This is the main portion of the post. I am going to suggest a significant list of troubleshooting that you can attempt. There are nine solutions which have resolved the issue in different situations, all of which I personally worked with. I'm hoping that these solutions will work for you if you have to face this error.
*Please note that some of this troubleshooting is a little complicated. If a mistake is made, you may have to reinstall the operating system. However, the final troubleshooting step will require you to do this. You should make sure all of your data is backed up before troubleshooting.

*After each step is attempted, you can try installing the printer software. If it fails, please uninstall the software before proceeding. This HP document will explain how to do it:
1. The first step is performing a Clean Boot. I've resolved this issue in the past by performing this simple step before installing the software. A Clean Boot will turn off third-party programs and services that could be blocking the software from working correctly. For more information on how to do this, please look at this Microsoft document:

2. Next, make sure the Windows Installer it turned on and started. If it not, the installation may not complete. To do this, hold down the “Windows” and “R” key on the keyboard, which will open the Run box. In that box, type “services.msc” (without the quotes) and hit Enter.
Now scroll down to the Windows Installer. If it is checked stopped, or not started, right-click on it and select “Start”.
3. Next, I would suggest completing all Windows Updates:
a) Open "Windows Update" in Control Panel.
b) Click "Settings", and then click "Install optional updates".
c) Next, click "Check for updates".
This will ensure that all updates are found and installed. Once they are installed, see whether or not the error returns.
4. If the issue is not resolved at this point, I would like to check the system for obvious corruption with an SFC scan. SFC stands for System File Checker, and it scans and attempts to restore corrupted Windows files.
To do this, open Command Prompt as Administrator. Type in this command and hit Enter afterward: sfc
/scannow
Write down the results and restart computer after this completes.
5. Creating a new Administrator account is a workaround to the issue. If the error does not appear on other accounts, this proves that whatever is causing the error is account-exclusive. I'm going to suggest you unlock the computer's built-in Administrator account.
To do this, open Command Prompt as Administrator, again. Then type in this command and hit Enter afterward: net user administrator /active:yes
6. The next step involves editing permissions in the Registry. In the Registry, please review the instructions below to apply full permissions to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
a) Right-click on the key that you need to edit and/or delete (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE). Click on "permissions..."
b) Click "Add" in that Window that appears.
c) There will be an empty box under "Enter the object names to select". Type "Administrator" (without the quotes), then click on "Check Names".
d) An Administrator name will appear, click "Ok" when it does.
e) You should be able to select (click) the Administrator profile under "Group or user names". Once clicked, click on "Advanced".
f) Click on the "Owner" tab.
g) Click on the Administrator profile, then put the check-mark in "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects".
h) Go back to the "Permissions" tab, and ensure the Administrator profile is selected.
i) In the "Permissions" tab, put a check-mark in every box available. The boxes will likely be indicated by "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" and "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object".
j) Next, click "Edit". Put a check-mark in "Full Control" under Allow. Click Ok. Now, click Apply (you may receive a Window security message, just click "Yes"), then Ok.
k) Exit the Registry, then restart the computer, and launch the Administrator account.
7. The next step is to re-register the Windows Installer, and other dynamic library links (.DLL). Doing this will reference certain components that are required to complete the installation. Open Command Prompt as Administrator, then type each command and hit Enter after each one:

REGSVR32 ATL.DLL

8. There are certain DLL files that can interfere with the installation, and they should be deleted. Go to C:\Windows\System32
Delete the following files:
HPZipm12.dll
HPZinw12.dll
9. Before reinstalling the operating system, you can try restoring it. This will allow you to return the computer to a point where the printer was working.
*You should only do this if the software worked in the recent past.

What if these nine solutions do not work?
Finally, you will need to reinstall the operating system if the issue is not resolved by this point. However, I can promise that this will resolve the issue. Here is a generic document on reinstalling the operating system:

Jco Function issue : The initial password has expired (request a new one)

Hi Friends,
Could you please help me to resolve this issue. I am able to start my session using SAP Jco Start Action block. But while invoking the BAPI using
SAP JCo Function action block I am getting the below error. I am 100% sure that my credentials are correct. I am able to logon to ECC using SAP Front GUI.
I am using MII 14.0 patch SP4

Filter function issue

Hi ,
I am trying to calculate the count by using filter function like this for two different condition
FILTER(count(distinct "trade"."issue") USING ("block"."path_id" = 10))
FILTER(count(distinct "trade"."issue") USING ("block"."path_id" = 20))
but is giving the same result as count(distinct "trade"."issue") . So , the filter condition is not getting applied, while in database , i am getting the different result . Please suggest .

Hi,
Check if "trade" and "block" are joined and the content level settings are done appropriately. Verify by creating an analysis for "issue" and "path_id" and make sure that query picks up both tables. Resolve any issues that you see here.

We are creating SAs via LSMW IDOC method (Message Type - PURSAG_CREATE and Basic Type - PURSAG_CREATE01), all our SAs being created w r to Contract and Contract has multiple OA and PI partner functions. So while creating SA we are passing unique OA and PI value (from list of valid OA/PI avaialble in contract) in LSMW structures - E1BPMEOUTPARTNER and E1BPMEOUTPARTNERX.

Now issue is SAP is not recognizing above mentioned partner value and throwing error as Following mandatory roles missing in partner maintenance: OA
If the reffered contract has single OA and PI LSMW is running fine and creating SA successfully but issue is coming only when we have multiple OA/PI.
Has anybody faced similar issue or aware if any OSS note which resolves this issue, please advise.

I have created a separate source structure for passing partner function and now have below source structure:
Source Structures
       HEADER_SA            Header Structure
           PARTNER_SA          PARTNER STRUCTURE (Lower level to Header)
           ITEM_SA              Item Structure (Lower level to Header but at the same level as Partner)
Then created a separate file for partner having both OA and PI value as shown below (ID is common field between all three structures Header, item and Partner):
ID     PARVW     LIFN2     DEFPA
1     BA     1XXXXXXX9     X
1     RS     1XXXXXXX7     X
Now after convert data step it considers above values for partner role but still LSMW fails with same error "Mandatory PF missing, OA, PI"
Also, one more info wanted to share- if in my contract I put a tick mark against one of the partner OA/PI in DEFAULT BOX, it works fine but that does not make any sense as the whole pupose of having multiple OA/PI is to give option to business of selecting one of the avaialble OA/PI.
FYI - I have opened a customer message to SAP, let see what they suggest.

Auto resolve alert - Polling interval

Hi,
When service is stopped, alert is generated but once i restart the service alert gets auto-resolved within a minute.
When alert is generated if database size is full, once we increase the size it will take more than an hour for alert to get auto-resolved and move to closed alert.
Can anyone let me know how auto-resolve works and can we change polling interval settings for this.

RMI | Firewall issue revisited

Hi all,
I have searched through these forums for a suitable answer to my problem, but have not gotten any.
My RMI client-server app was working perfectly well on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server (with its firewall restrictions), until my company decided to buy another firewall appliance. My RMI server used to run on the Advanced server machine with a static IP and I ran my server with the following command :
java -Djava.security.policy=server.polocy -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=209.XXX.XXX.XXX Server
(209.XXX.XXX.XXX being the static IP used by the advanced server)
Now, with the addition of the firewall appliance and after having opened up 2 ports for RMI communication and forwarding them to the Host machine, my application had stopped functioning across the internet.
The host machine has an internal IP address of say 129.128.***.***
When an external client tries to establish contact with the my RMI server using 209.XXX.XXX.XXX (the external IP), I get a
"Connection refused: Unable to connect with 129.128.***.***"
This makes me believe that even though the client is able to initially establish connection with the RMI server, the RMI server sends back a reply to the client, asking it to find the server at the INTERNAL ip address.
Is there a way to avoid this ? Where am I going wrong ? How can I resolve this issue ?

The error is happening because the client is finding and connecting to the RMI registry OK, it is getting the Remote reference OK but when it tries to send a message to the Remote reference it is sending to your internal IP address and hence getting the unable to connect error.
The IP address in the Remote reference returned by the RMI registry is the one that the server object is bound to. No amount of port forwarding will change that.
You have two options in my experience:
1. You can try to force your server to believe it is 209.x.x.x when you bind the Remote instance. You can do this on Linux, but I have no idea how to do it on W2K.
2. The server.rmi.hostname works for fully qualified domain names, not IP addresses. If you only have one RMI server running, or if you use different ports for different RMI servers, you should be fine by setting the hostname value to your fully qualified domain name and then use NAT to forward to the Internal IP address. If you have more than one server running on the same port number, you'll need to register different FQDN's for each. Then all you need to do is update your internal DNS to point to the internal IP address and the external clients will use their existing DNS in the normal manner.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.

Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

After updating with Security Update 2010-001, Quicken will not auto update. Auto update function in Preferences are also inop. Numerous posts in Macbook discussions about similar problems with other apps.

Installed Security Update 2012-001. Now Quicken will not auto save and the auto save function in Preferences cannot be changed. There are numerous similar comments in the Macbook discussions about other apps. Come on, Apple, we need some help out here!

Apparently some are reporting that this causes the older PowerPC (PPC) applications that are supported in 10.6 via 'Rosetta' to crash upon attempting to open/save/print using any dialog box, or fail in other similar ways such as simply not printing or quitting, or freezing/hanging/crashing of the application.
I have read of some companies that have indeed submitted proper bug reports to Apple, but that is not a guarantee of a bug-fix being issued.

If you are unsure if you are still using PowerPC apps, if the application is currently running, look under the 'Activity Monitior' (in Applications -> Utilities), or alternatively you could check in the System Profiler, Applications. Check the column "Type".
Here is a fairly simple way you can restore you system and restore you applications functionality again, if you don't have a recent clone or good Time Machine backup that you can restore from. If you do, restore from your backup prior to having installed the Security Update 2012-001.

If you are restoring a backup made by a Mac to the same Mac
With your backup drive connected, start up your Mac from the Lion recovery partition (Command-R at startup) or Mac OS X v10.6 installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility. Select the backup prior to your issues, and it will be restored back to the state it was in at that time.
If you can't easily restore from a backup, you can instead do the following:
- You first start by reinstalling your OS X 10.6.x, this will preserve all your user data, your applications, no worries there.
- Then install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 (links provided below)
- Make sure you're printers are showing up correctly in your system preferences, if not, re-add the printers
- Then finally, run the Apple Software Update (by pulling down the Apple Menu), and install any and all remaining updates, except do not then re-install the Security Update 2012-001. It is possible that you may have to reboot after installing some of the updates, and you may even need to run it a 2nd time to make sure that you've got all updates, except NOT the Security Update 2012-001.

Netflix, HBO Go, ABC TV along with other apple TV apps, take a very long time to download the video and they are choppy when running. My apple TV runs off of WiFi in my apartment. When trying to download updates, it take a long time and then a video screen with "This Update was not Successful. Apple TV couldn't be downloaded at this time. Try again later." What can I do to resolve this issue? I purchased this apple TV in May 2013 new.

That will be an issue with the network
What is your current connection via speedtest.net?
Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general -network)
Since you are in an apartment the local wifi network is more prone to interference, try ethernet
