And we are developing the report by using above mentioned report builder and saved as a .rdf file. from the form. and calling that report from the form runtime by passing the parameters. i mentioned already report is opening fine and accurately. we want to that after opening the report that will be like a save as in pdf format of client_machine at specified location. there is no need to save the user manually and to avoid the user from these steps like to go report window file menu save as . can you pls suggest me how to do

  • How to auto open PDF after saving a file?

Hi!!! How y'll doing? I just switch to Mac recently. So can you guys kindly advise how do set auto open PDF file after save as a PDF file.
What am I trying to say is that, I have a excel file and I want it to auto open after I save as PDF file.

We are currently having users processing a large number of PDF's and would like to know if this is possible as well. The Save as PDF... option right now does not open the PDF file after it is created.

  • How to auto save and pre-fill some textfields

first time i open a pdf, there are some textfields. they are all empty.
i click on a button to call a web service. this returns some text and fill in those textfields.
if one of these textfields, "message", has got an auto-filled text "success", then the pdf needs to remember the text in some of the rest of the fields. next time when the user open it, those fields should be with the text generated last time.
notice that the "Do you want to save the file" auto-popup window won't meet my requirement. even if the user clicks on "no" for this popup window, now that i get a "success" transaction from the web service, the fields should be saved.
i read through this, but may not be able to use it. i only have LiveCycle Designer ES3. I don't know how those adminui or process work.
    http://livecycleapps.wordpress.com/2009/10/21/livecycle-es2-using-action-profiles-to-pre-f ill-a-form-for-display-in-workspace/

    Hi,
in Designer ES3 there is an Auto Save option in the form properties you can activate.
Remember, the form needs Usage Rights to be savable through Reader, so you need Acrobat to apply those rights to your form first.

  • Auto-Save-Option with increasing filenames (counter, timestamp eg.)

    Hello!
I want to pdf a job of 30.000 single printer pages, which are generated by a computer programme.
I'm able to choose the Autos-Save-Option by setting a dedicated folder at the printer settings. But there ist no option to install an increasing filename (counter, timestamp eg.). For that reason Acrobat overwrites the previous file each time (30.000x).
In some freeware-tools this funktion is implemented. Where or in which version can I find this funktion in Adobe Acrobat?
    Thank you for your help.
    Greetings from Germany!

    Hi, HiddenMist,
Following the suggestion, I have removed all information I can remove. I have set all settings to "contacts only" that can be set to such. I cannot change my avatar because I cannot save changes (without adding my last name, which is currently blank). I have left everything blank that I can leave blank. I have been contacted three times after I have made these changes, as suggested.
In the Windows Desktop version of the Skype software, I can navigate to my profile settings: Skype -> Profile -> Edit your profile.
My work-around still works ... for me, at least, which is why I continue to recommend it.
Hi, Bartholomue, and welcome to the community,
Did you know that if you look up how to delete your name from the Skype directory, it says that you are effectively disabling your account? Your name will not show up in searches, and it will remain in the contact lists of those who have already added you, but those contacts will no longer be able to call you.
    Yes, indeed, this is true.
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • Auto save didnt

I guess I dont understand "autosave" I was editing a very important job appication in preview it was a unlocked pdf. I deperatly wanted to save as I made changes to it. But i know I 2don't have to right? shouldn't the last version be saved. To make an already long story short. Lion locked up again. I had to force quit and the work I would have saved was gone. Is there some place to look? I tried time machine with no luck. Also when using word for mac 2011 it does not seem to auto save, does it. Lion is so slow and I am having to force quit and restart more than I have come to expect from apple. I think that they should return to features and return to rock solid OSX that made me a convert back in 2002.

    Yes, it should.
Lion locked up again. I had to force quit and the work I would have saved was gone.
If the system freezes, it can't auto save. A freeze is a freeze.

Here is your real problem. Something is snarky with your system. Mine is rock solid, fast and have never frozen.
You need to find the cause.
There are some simple troubleshooting steps you can take.
Be sure you drive is not overly full. Rule of thumb would be over 85%.
(First, be sure you have a good backup, or create one now.)
Create a new User go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > "+" (make it an admin acct) and test the apps in this new account, if they work the problem is isolated to your User and not systemwide.
If the issue is limited to your user account try starting up in Safe Mode  (It will take more time to startup because it runs a directory check.)
If your apps functions correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test.
If the issue is systemwide then, you may be able to repair by booting cmd-r to your
Recovery Volume and re-installing Lion. This will be an "install in place" and shouldn't effect your data and settings.
if none of this helps make a clone of your system and then re-format your HDD and do a clean install, migrating back only your own data.

  • Auto-save and file-recovery

    Dear Adobe,
It is the year 2015. Just lost several hours of work in Illustrator. Thanks for making your professional community the beta tester of your half-baked products. I have no interest using Illustrator if you release version after version with new "features" and leave out the most important thing: file recovery and auto save. Honestly, I am in severe disbelief that this is not built in. Don't release an update if you don't do this first. This has happened far too much for me to have any patience, or just to say, "it's ok, I will re-do it".
I can't find words to express my severe disappointment in this software. I am not the first one to have said this. If no solution is in the works even, you really don't care.
    Sincerely disappointed and frustrated,

With regard to autosaving, you may consider these (I am aware that you may know (of) them):
    CS5/CS6/CC & Vista/7/8 or 10.7+
    http://www.astutegraphics.com/software/autosaviour/
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/6616027#6616027
For Mac users with CS6 or CC, the app "Ai Auto Save" can be bought here:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ai-auto-save/id877602617?ls=1&mt=12
With regard to file recovery, the following may apply (this may also be (too well) known to you):
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the (PDF contents, if any, of the) corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way.
Here are some websites where you can see whether it can rescue the actual file, and if it can, you may pay for a subscription to have it done,

    http://markzware.com/adobe-software/fix-illustrator-file-unknown-error-occurred-pdf2dtp-fi le-recovery/
    http://www.illustrator.fixtoolbox.com/
As far as I remember, the first one is for Win and the second one is for Mac, while the third one should be for both.

  • Auto Save and Open

I am using Windows 7 with Adobe Reader XI. I'm building a website that has help documents that I would like to Auto save and open with Adobe Reader XI. I am unsure if this is a user feature or a publisher feature. I want to have these documents auto open and run in Internet Explorer 11 specifically. I've tried to add the site as a trusted site and just about all the other steps.
    Thank you for your help!

Depending on the IE configuration, clicking on a PDF link will either
save the PDF to a temp folder, then open it in the Adobe Reader add-on
save the PDF to a temp folder, then open it in the Adobe Reader application

  • A question about Auto Save, Versions and Preview.

I haven't upgraded to Lion (yet?). I'm trying to understand what impact Lion will have on my workflow.
Do I understand right that it is not possible to turn off Lion's Auto Save?
And that the autosavings are stored in a hidden sqlLite data base?
I use Preview for... err... previewing files (PDFs and image files). Nothing I open (preview) in Preview I save.
Is Lion's Auto Save going to save every file I take a look at in Preview?

    Thebestplacehere wrote:

The idea of Versions looks good to me, it certainly is not a 'con to upgrade'. The amount of disk space it uses and where (on which disk) is a bit of a concern to me. But by the time the applications I work with implement this feature that probably will be sorted out.
    there's more to upgrading though.
    Not so much on topic:
I do want to upgrade. Eventually. Although I do worry about the direction Apple are heading in, I don't want to get stuck in the past.
I'm disappointed AirDrop is not for my computers. And the treatment Spaces and Exposé got really withholds me of upgrading any time soon. Maybe a third party developer dives into this matter. Working with an external display connected to notebooks has changed in Lion and is not particularly handy for everyone. (While using the external display only, opening the lid of the notebook in Lion turns on the display of the notebook. This was not the case before Lion.)

  • QuickView (run in backgroud) - How to auto save data to local file

I am using Quickview to extract data. I want to run the Quickview query in background and auto save the data extracted into local file (ASCII file). Currently when I specify File Store (as my Output Format) and enter a file name (e.g C:\Temp\test.asc). Upon completion of extraction there is a little window popup that need me to select data format (e.g DAT, ASC) and click <Transfer> button to proceed to save data into local file.
Is there a way that I can save data into local file without have to manually select ASC data format and click <Transfer> button. I will not be  able to schedule my QuickView query to run in background if I can't resolve this problem.
Note that I don't have access to ABAP programming, therefore this option is out.
Thanks in advance to anybody who can share your expertise experience.

  • When attempting to save a numbers doc, get message, " Couldn't auto-save document."

When attempting to save a Numbers checklist document, I get the message "Couldn't auto-save document." What does this mean and why can't I save it to my hard drive?

I have exactly the same problem. It seems like a very rare problem though because there is so little written about it, and it is a real show stopper!!
I also had the additional problem that I could not export anything as PDF.
Your workaround did not work for me, but a different one did. I simply clicked on the red "close" button on the top left of the window, and the usual dialog box asked me if I wanted to save. I said yes, and it saved! I can even export the PDF now.
Extremely bizarre, and I must say not a solution I would rely on in a long term basis.

  • Pages V5 COULDN'T AUTO-SAVE DOCUMENT error message

Why am I getting this error message when I attempt to save a document, duplicate a document, move a document--"Couldn't Auto-Save Document" I cannot save the document. I originally opened this document from the server computer to my laptop, made changes on the laptop at remote office and now I cannot save it, even to a new location on the laptop.

    Hi.
I was just now suddenly afflicted by this problem.
Have new macbook pro retina - iOS X 10.9.2.
    Everything is up to date.
Even Pages is up to date. checked it (of course), as soon as I started getting the error message every time I tried to save. Even tried saving or 'exporting' to Word, PDF...still same message.
Now...I recall that any time an app is 'acting up' (i.e. not responding the way it should)...it usually means that it either needs updating, or it has some sort of 'bug' to it.
If it needs updating...then simply update it. I checked that option...and got message that Pages is indeed up to date.
So...opted to simply 'force quit' pages (as well as quit many other still-open apps that I wasn't using at the moment...to try to cut down on excess memory being used...thinking that may be part of the problem.
Also...thought that maybe my hard disk was getting rather full...so opted also to move all my music, movies & pictures to an external hard disk to free up internal storage space (by eventually deleting all after first backing up to external hard disk)...and then of course finally freeing up all space by emptying the trash.
Then...after force quitting pages (and all other non-used apps at the time)...and still before completing the transfer of all those heavy files to an external hard disk...then I re-opened pages to test it...and 'WHOALA!"...it worked just fine!!!
So...it seems that this was the solution...at least for me at this moment...to simply force quit the renegade app, and then re-start it.
If that didn't work, I was going to simply shut down the computer...and do a complete re-start. That is another option that often times gives a new look to life for apps which are acting up.
OK...just thought to put in my two cents-worth here.
    Hope this helps someone else.
    Regards,
    Balqees Mohammed.

  • Auto-Save &Auto-Close after inactivity

I'm new to JavaScript, so please be patient. I am using Acrobat XI
I have a document that I am trying to have auto-save and auto-close after 10 minutes of inactivity. I've found where I would enter the JavaScript under the document actions, and I see the "Will Save" and "Will Close" functions, but I guess I don't understand what JavaScript I need to put in these fields to get them to do what I want.
I can get the document to run JavaScript that will close the document after being open for 10 minutes, but I need it to save and close after 10 minutes of inactivity. Is this possible, and if so how do I go about this?
    Thanks SO MUCH in advance.

The "Will Save" and "Will Close" events are only triggered after an action to save the PDF or close the PDF has started.
