Auto updating of remaing feilds in for a record in a Z table
Hi all
Plese help me in solving this,
I am maintaining the table data. when i enter a new record in the table, some fields like username , date and time should get automatically updated in the same record and get reflected when i display of that record.
Could u pls tell me the procedure for updating those field automatically .

hey,
First add these fields in your database table
if you are using table maintenance generator
Go to your function group and in case you dont want the user to see this make them invisible.
then make use of the following System parameters.
sy-uname = name of the login
sy-datum = data
sy-uzeit = time
push these values to your fields when eber you are inserting

One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
So, the query Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

If you want to find the duplicates present in qualified table then, you can go to qualified table in data manager and get to know the duplicates....else if you want to find the duplicate links to a record in main table, then you can write an expression in free form search to get the value of duplicate links. but that would be specific to a link value only..e.g. Country is your no qualifier, then in free form search, you can write an expression to get how many links are for USA.
Hope this clarifies your doubt...if not, please elaborate on the requirement.

Disable Auto Update in Acrobat Professional 9 for OS X
We have a series of installations in a lab/classroom environment where we would like to disable the autoupdate feature of Acrobat Professional 9. Currently when a new user logs in the autoupdater wil launch telling the user that there's a new update available. That's great and all except that a) most users are not admins and couldn't do the update any way, b) we use Sassafras Keyserver and updating the App with IT will cause the keyserver functionality to stop which would then make us fall out of compliance with licensing, c) IT likes to make sure that ALL users are on the same version which means that we need to control when and how updates are installed.
Is there any way to do this and then have the settings propagate to all users?Hi,
There's no machine level setting to disable ARM for all users in MAC.
However, you could set the update mode to manual using Edit->Preferences->Do not automatically download or install updates. This has to be done by each user since the setting is user specific.

Also, I have a small query. When Acrobat\Reader installed as an admin is launched for a non-admin user, it requires admin credentials on first launch. Since most of your users are non-admin, how are they able to launch Acrobat\reader wihtout providing admin passwords? -
Adobe Form - Print page at the end for every record of a Z table with Text
Hello friends, I am facing a challenging here and I need to develop the following below. Mind you, I don't have much exposure/experience with Adobe Forms
Scenario: Standard REAL ESTATE Contract Form
I have a Z table containing RENTAL OBJECTS, in my case 3 records and I want, at the end of the form print one page like below to each record that i have in my Z table.
"Dear Z-field1 one, regarding your contract for Z-field2, Address Z-field3, blah blah blah"
In essence, print a page for each one of them at the end, with the text above using the fields from the z table.
I searched the forum and couldn't find any thing like it.
If someone can help it would be much appreciated.

You must be having the ztable fields in the context or in the data heirarchy of the adobe form.
Assume that your main form is on the page1.
Create a table bound to ztable with 3 rows in it and make it invisible on the form.
Below the form create 3 pages page2, page3 and page4.
Create a ISR text display and on the initialise event write the code such as:
this.rawValue = data.page1.Table2.Row1.Cell1.rawValue;
Create as many ISR texts as you want and initialize it using the above method.

Serial Number generation for the records in a Z-Table

I have created a Z-Table to store Request Details. User provides the details of the request.
when ever user saves the Request i will generate the Request Number.
My Constraint is these Request Numbers must be in serial.
I don't want to hit the database every time to know what the Latest Request Number is? Because these requests would be in thousands. Please suggest me the better way.

When I connect my BB Bold and startDesktop Manager, it automatically launches into auto-update: "Checking for device application updates...". If I click on "Cancel", it ignores me, but it doesn't hang. It eventually comes up with the message: "Updated versions... are available.. Blackberry 4.6 Core Applications". I am using 4.7 - So that doesn't make sense.
I have tried to disable Auto-Update by clicking on "Check for Updates" and un-checking "Check for Updates automatically". But that makes no difference. I have looked for and renamed Vendor.xml (per some suggestions) but cannot find a Web.xml file. Renaming Vendor.xml to _Vendor.xml (so I can undo the change) makes no difference.
Any more suggestions?
SeanFirst off, your device does use the 4.6 software, even if the version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager is 4.7. There is no 4.7 OS for the Bold.
Second, the reason you're seeing this message is likely because you have the device software installed on your computer. Go to your computer's Control Panel, then Uninstall Programs (in Vista, it's under Programs & Features in Classic View). Remove any BlackBerry Device software you see (not the Desktop Manager, just the device software). Once this is done, restart your computer.
This should resolve the issue.

Disabling auto-update doesn't work
I need to stop at Firefox 14 for now, and need to prevent auto-updates.
In Firefox 14.0.1 when I disable auto-update by setting 'never check for updates', and/or use about:config to clear 'app.update.url', both settings are ignored. When I close and re-open Firefox, auto-update is again enabled, and the update URL is again set.
Recommendations?As it turns out, it's not a matter of 'preferences not being saved'.
It's Firefox spontaneously changing my preferences at start-time.
I've been testing; here's what i discover.
1. I install FF14, start it the first time, and disable auto-update (via Tools/Options/Advanced)
At this point - prefs.js in my profile now starts with
user_pref("app.update.auto", false);
user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);
2. now I exit FF.
prefs.js in my profile STILL starts with
user_pref("app.update.auto", false);
user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);
3. i restart FF (#1)
prefs.js in my profile STILL starts with

user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);
4. i close FF
prefs.js in my profile STILL starts with

5. I restart FF (#2)
NOW prefs.js has dropped those 2 initial lines, and starts with user_pref("app.update.lastUpdateTime.addon-........etc
Firefox is spontaneously changing my prefs.js.
Before this series of tests I adjusted the prefs.js in all other profiles in this XPSP3 machine to start with
user_pref("app.update.auto", false);
user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);
This is obnoxious.
I expect better from Mozilla.

Disabling Java Auto Update Check
I work for a large company that uses Deep Freeze on all of our Mac machines. Therefore, we turn off "auto-updating" in all applications that have an "auto-update" or "check for updates" feature.
When it comes to Java, we run into problems. Java (found in System Preferences) has an auto-updating feature which reads, "Check for Updates Automatically". We obviously uncheck the box, apply the change, and click "OK". But the problem is, when you re-open the Java Preferences, the check magically re-appears!!!!! It seems that there is no way to turn it off!!! The check ALWAYS re-appears!!!!
We thought that maybe it's a glitch and we were hoping the auto-updating feature is actually staying off, but our employees are getting pop-up windows asking them to update Java!!!
Does anybody know how to disable the "check for updates" feature in Java???

We are completely on top of security threats, but thank you for the advice!!! We update Java and Flash manually the day the updates are released. We just don't want our computers checking for updates all day every day, or our employees running the updates themselves, because once they restart their computers, they simply go back to the way they were when we last froze them (using Deep Freeze).

Back in OS 8.6, I used to create folders to keep similar apps together, too. I also used to "clean up" fonts a lot.
After deleting several System fonts and rendering my Mac useless, I decided to stop cleaning up. If you can arrange them in Launchpad, good. But don't go rearranging apps in the Applications folder, OK? Updates will not work if you put apps within a self-created folder. -

Am i correct in thinking that for the IP Communicator AutoUpdate featur to work I have to run the CiscoIPCommunicatorSetup.exe on the call manager (TFTP server) itself?
I have already run the Admin tool, but I need to get the image onto the tftp server (and presumably in the correct path).
Has anyone got this update feature working?

If you want to stop the messages that the AutoUpdate is failing you need to go to the
CCMAdmin on the CallManager server and go to System --> Device Defaults, you need to
erase whatever you have in the Load Information field on the IP Communicator.

Reading long text for more records at a time
Hi all,
We have a requirement for which that data like textid textname textobject and language must be taken in to an internal table and for each record in the internal table i have to read the long text inorder to compare the long text for the given search text.
If i use Read_text inside the loop and endloop it works but it may not be appropriate in performance point of view.
Is there any function module which can read long texts for more records at a time.
The long text data in STXL will be in raw data format right? is there any way to convert raw data to normal so that by hitting the STXL i can read the long text data for more than one record at a time.

Below is a code snippet which describes reading a long text frm the screen and appending it into the internal table.This code is actually to read the text from the screen and inserting a record into STXl and STXH.
From your query what i understood is that you are storing the long text from the screen into a internal table and so you not want to use the read_text FM due to performance issue.
Since tdline(tline table) is 132 char long format i use this small logic to read the screen data and append it to my internal table.

Having created an initial source file load mapping (loading a STG1_GOOD table) I also plan to load the 'bad' file generated by SQL*Loader for rejected records (into a STG1_ERR table) in a second mapping.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can generate a record id that spans both these tables and will represent the position of the record in the original source file ??

Multiple display formats for several records coming from the same table

I want to create one Crystal Reports XI report to display several records coming from one table, but I need different display format for different records from that one table.
There is a field RecordType and based on that value, the record will be displayed differently on the report page.
Can I have several sections in the report and to define different SQL query in each of them?
Example of the report I need to see on paper:

A 5 (this value 5 comes from record with RecordType=2)

What would be a good way to do this in Crystal Reports XI ? In Cognos ReportNet, I would just create several Queries (SQL sentences) and place their outputs on a page, one after the other.

I can create multiple sections in the report, but I don't know how to split the 20 records that I get back from the database to be displayed in 5 different report sections.
How can I define different SQL statement for each of 5 report sections?
How can I use cross-tabs to display what I need? Can I define SQL statement for each cross-tab and then I could place only RecordType=1 records into cross-tab-1 and all RecordType=2 records into cross-tab-2 ?
In Cognos ReportNet, I defined 2 Queries (SQL statements) and I just placed them in the report one below the other. Query_1 returns 1 record where RecordType value =1. Query_2 returns 5 records where RecordType value =2 and etc. So each record "section" displays record in the way I want it.
