Autodiscover returns mis-spelt fqdn

Hi,
Autodiscover XML returns various nodes with a typo in the FQDN. This breaks move mailbox as MRSProxy as the URL is incorrect.
I cannot find where this typo is, the XMl nodes are:
<Type>EXHTTP</Type>
<Server> wrong FQDN</Server>
PublicFolderServer>wrong FQDN</PublicFolderServer>
<Type>EXPR</Type>
<Server>wrong FQDN</Server>
Where are these values obtained from? How can these be fixed and rebuilt.

I think I've resolved this by re-installing the CAS role. For any other person looking at this...
1) HCW had an exception that was raised with MS; thought it was wildcard certificate, so added new certificate, no change - no fix for some days. (later found 2013 fine with wildcard)
2) Thought I'd install CU5 to see if this fixed it, but CU5 had issues on the MBX and CAS roles. I had a virtual environment and I added more RAM, CPU maxed out as it was checking CU5 executables. Disabled AV and then this ran quicker.
3) Running the HCW threw up an autodiscover virtual directory problem which I fixed. Still HCW exception.
4) Got 2013 CU6 update from MS - fixed exception, then ran into autodiscover issue - server names internal.
5) Fixed autodiscover issue, but couldn't move mailbox. MRSProxy error. Fix involved setting internal and external URLs, TechNet says yes, other MS article says its a myth -http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2013/04/02/busting-the-set-autodiscovervirtualdirectory-myth.aspx
Well for me it wouldn't work until these were set. Maybe the underlying issue got in the way. Does anyone really know?
6) Autodiscover XML wrong FQDN in some places - looked at cmdlets, ADSIEdit couldn't find issue.
7) Removed Autodiscover virtual directory, but couldn't re-add got an obscure cmdlet error reported by others with no resolution.
8) Removed Exchange on CAS
9) Tried re-install of CU5,but this can't be a complete installer as gave exception on pre-requisites so installed 2013SP1 - installed OK. Haven't gone to CU5 as yet.
10) Updated internal and external URL - autodiscover and EWS say working, XML now looks good
11) HCW fails with old CAS entry in AD; fixed with ADSIEdit
12) HCW completes but tenant configuration in OAuth timeout exception
13) ran removehybrid... cmdlet
14) HCW completes on premise and in the cloud
15) Test-Migration... cmdlet now says OK
This is my test lab on 2012 R2, 2013 SP1 with vanilla installs and it has taken me days.... I'm just wondering if I dare run this in production...
Now for the interesting bit which is what ports/URLs does this actually use. I've been through all the posts but nothing really tells me what it uses. This is for a government client and this has to pass strict compliance. Come on MS lets have some better description
of the plumbing.

Exchange 2007, everything works just fine, except for one small issue. When a mobile client configures an Exchange email account, the autodiscover info drops the server name. For instance,
email address: [email protected]
The user enters their email and password at the client setup screen. Autodiscover sends back the server name of company.com, rather than email.company.com. So, I have to tell all my users to enter "email." in the server name field.
Happens on both iOS and Android clients.
ActiveSync InternalURL and ExternalURL are all correct on Exchange.
Where do I fix this so clients do not need to enter any custom info on their email clients?

Cannot send XML request message - TREX doesn't return FQDN

Hello all,
is there any way to configure TREX, so that it always returns it's FQDN?
I get the following error message from our SAP XECO (Shop) Java System.
Full Message Text
Object with category com.sap.isa.catalog.trex.TrexCatalogServerEngine could not be instantiated. Reason: cannot send XML request to http://saptx3:30305/TREX; reason: saptx3 (Errorcode 7262)
The problem is, that TREX doesn't return it's FQDN.
The TREX service as such is correctly configured in TREX Service "nameserver.address", "tcpip://hostname.domain:30301".
I added the line
SAPGLOBALHOST=saptx3.domain
to the sapprofile.ini file. This didn't do the trick, unfortunately.

It can to be that the problem is related to the proxy configuration in
the Portal. Could you please check if you specified proxy in the
System Administration -> System Configuration ->Service Configuration->
Applications (Content Catalog) -> com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice ->
Services -> Proxy
If a proxy server is entered there, you have to enter the TREX host in
the http - bypass Proxy Servers.

Cannot complete Lync2013 integration because autodiscover/metadata/json/1 does not exist

I am trying to setup integration between Microsoft Lync 2013 Server and Exchange 2013 Server so that in OWA you can see presence information and also use Instant Messaging.
I am able to complete all the steps except for the following line on the Lync server:
New-CsPartnerApplication -Identity Exchange -ApplicationTrustLevel Full -MetadataUrl "https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/metadata/json/1"
I am getting an error that its not found:
New-CsPartnerApplication : Cannot bind parameter 'MetadataUrl' to the target. Exception setting "MetadataUrl": "The
metadata document could not be downloaded from the URL in the MetadataUrl parameter or downloaded data is not a valid
metadata document, error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found."
Now I've already followed THIS thread: http://blogs.technet.com/b/jenstr/archive/2012/11/22/getting-internal-server-error-500-when-creating-new-cspartnerapplication-for-exchange-2013.aspx But that did not help me at all. Nor should it because
that particular thread is a procedure to remedy an error 500. Remember I am getting an error 404.
I can validate that the path to /autodiscover/metadata/json/1 does not exist because I get a 404 in any web browser that I attempt to access this path. Also in IIS Manager on Exchange I do not even see a metadata folder. IIS has been reset and
also the server has been rebooted as of 7:40 AM EST today and the issue persists.
I am not sure what goes in that location but I would be willing to accept if someone else would upload their metadata/json/1 file on SkyDrive and I could put it at this location.
Otherwise Autodiscover service appears to be working as Outlook and Lync clients do not pose an error. Testing e-mail autodiscover returns correct values and the paths /autodiscover/Autodiscover.svc and also autodiscover/autodiscover.xml are both reachable
in a web browser.

You could try to modify the autodiscover Url by following command.
Get-ClientAccessServer | Set-ClientAccessServer -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri "https://autodiscover.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml"
Run the following command in Lync Management Shell.
Set-CsOAuthConfiguration -Identity global -ExchangeAutodiscoverUrl "https://autodiscover.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc"
After doing the above work, please re-run the New-CsPartnerApplication command to test.

FQDN of Tenant and Admin sites not "sticking"

I have one host running all of the services + admin site (two IPs, one for admin, one for everything else): wapservices.domain.local (everything else); wapadmin.domain.local (admin site)
I have another host running only the tenant stuff: wapportal.domain.local
I changed the Bindings of the Tenant site and Admin site to be on port 443 (of their respective IPs) and I can initially navigate to them. However, when it goes to the authentication it then redirects back to the non-existing original Ports (30071 and 30091
respectively). How do I get it to use 443 permanently?
I tried the following (for admin):

Auth Package in Outlook Anywhere AutoDiscover is coming in incorrectly

Let me describe our situation and environment:
We have Exchange 2013 running in a 2008r2 level domain and are using Outlook Anywhere / AutoDiscovery to configure non-domain joined clients (this situation will change later, but our current priority is getting the Exchange server running and worrying and
joining machines to the domain afterwards). I had tried some configuration changes, which ultimately did not work, and I rolled back those changes. On the ECP under Servers -> Servers -> My Exchange Server -> Outlook AnyWhere, there is
a box that lets you choose between NTLM, Basic, and Negotiate authentication. Exchange 2013 default is negotiate, which was working initially. After rolling back my changes, however, my clients get repeated password prompts, and their passwords
are rejected, if I have Outlook Anywhere authentication set to negotiate. It works fine if I keep it set on NTLM.
Under Servers -> Virtual Directories -> AutoDiscover (Default Website) -> Authentication, the boxes for Basic Authentication and Integrated Windows Authentication are checked. These are the default values if I remember correctly.
Even when I have my Outlook Anywhere authentication set to Negotiate, I have a section of code in the AutoDiscover XML file that Outlook pulls that looks like this:

<AuthPackage>Ntlm</AuthPackage>
My research tells me that EXPR controls Outlook Anywhere (RPC over HTTP). The AuthPackage seems to be incorrect here. It's still giving me NTLM instead of Negotiate. When I change Outlook Anywhere's authentication back to NTLM, everything
works (after giving the server about fifteen minutes or so to update).
What is the problem here? Why does the autodiscover return the wrong auth package for Outlook Anywhere? Is there a time delay between changing the authentication for Outlook Anywhere and Exchange updating my Outlook clients so that their settings
match? I know that if I go into an Outlook client that is getting prompted for a password after Outlook Anywhere authentication has been changed to Negotiate, I can manually adjust their Exchange Proxy Server settings and get it to work, but I really
want the AutoDiscover to simply deliver the correct auth package to begin with.
I don't mind using NTLM authentication; it works. But I really need to know WHY this is happening and what to do to fix it. Today, it may not matter, but it may matter in the future as network topology changes, and I will be expected to have
the answer.
To further clarify:
When I run Get-OutlookAnywhere | fl name, *, my internal and external Client Authentication Methods are set to Negotiate, but I still get the entry I showed above in the AutoDiscover XML file that specifies NTLM.

Outlook ignores the EXPR/EXCH values when connected to Exchange 2013 for autodiscovery, rather it dynamically builds the EXHTTP values based on the AutoD server settings and uses those instead. You should reference those ExHTTP settings when you
look at the autodiscover results

This would seem to be the EXHTTP you were referencing. Again, this value is coming out as NTLM after I change my Outlook Anywhere Authentication method in ECP to Negotiate. Why? Is there a delay between changing that setting in ECP and when
it starts showing up in AutoDiscover queries? If so, what is that delay and how can I change it or force it to update immediately? Or is it that the setting in ECP does not change the auto discover setting and it has to be changed elsewhere?
If that's the case, what do I change, and where do I change it, to alter what autodiscover puts in for AuthPackage in the above snippet of code?

every opening bracket { should have a corresponding closing bracket }. in your code this is not the case. first if - where's the closing bracket? then you are closing th while loop (as you say in the comment), but in fact this is an if you are closing

DeployJava.js uses doc.write() - why?

I'm probably asking in the wrong place, but why does deployJava.js use doc.write() to create the applet tag?
I don't know what authority iof any w3schools.com may have for example, but it states that "the entire HTML page will be overwritten if document.write() is used inside a function, or after the page is loaded."
This means for example that a JSF page that conditionally displays a call to runApplet(), e.g. as the result of an Ajax transaction, will not work: the entire page content is indeed overwritten and my poor users are getting a blank page instead of a rather heavily populated page containing a new applet after pushing a certain button.
I'm reluctant to deploy my own version of deployJava.js but in the presence of this problem I may have to. Surely there is a better technique available? JQuery has innerHTMLI() for example, that must map to something in the Javascript space.

Comments so far:
1. I am embedding the applet in a page served via HTTPS. I therefore need to load java.com/js/dtjava.js via HTTPS to avoid mixed-content warnings. When I do that I get a browser intervention because the site's certificate isn't valid for java.com, only for *.java.com. Fixing the URL to https://www.java.com/js/dtjava.js avoids that. However the dtjava.js file has internal references to http://java.com which need the same treatment.
2. The variable 'platform' is mis-spelt in the link provided.

Highlighting text in TextArea

How do I highlight selected text in TextArea? (awt)
For example, I am using the StringTokenizer class to break up the text into words and wish to highlight any mis-spelt words.

TextArea inherits the method select() from TextComponent. This allows a single selection within the TextArea by specifying the start and end positions. There isn't a way to have multiple selections in a TextArea.

TS1717 If I have 30 songs in the library, how do I add all of them at once, instead of 1 by 1

Everyone,
When I click on a song, the dialos box, says ot cannot find the file. Then I go to locate file.
I navigate to /MUSIC/ITunes/Prince. In this folder I have 30 songs form him. I have to double
click on the song and then it will be found and plays in ITunes. This is under Windows Vista
OS.
When I try to select all the songs in the folder I cannot do that. I try CTRL-A and it does not
work. When I select a song, I hold down the Shift Key and do the down arrow and that does
not work. I have approx 390 songs I need to get added to the library, so they can be found.
In the example I have listed, how can I get all of the songs selected at one time and then
added into the ITunes library without going 1 by 1. If I do 1 by 1, it works fine, but that is way
too much work to get them all back in. I know there should be an easier way, but I cannot
figure it out,

sounds a bit drastic but....you could erase all media from itunes ( not your pc/mac ) then reload your library. this type of thing happens when you re-organise where your media is stored and then moved say to merge two mis-spelt prince folders into one properly but now different folder in roughly the same but not exactly the same place. ive done this a few times, im a bit sad about renaming music folders properly if i find them only to see itunes look past them because its looking for the original media files in the original folder/place...hope this helps a bit

How do you get it to recognise a Palm?

Acquired this MacPro and am still getting used to its quirks - it certainly doesn't seem to have any of the easy-to-use ness that the publicity claims - but that maybe because I am used to Windows.
I started by downloading a load of software updates - about 100Mb, lots of things seem to assume you have high speed internet access (eg iTunes always wants to connect to some shop or other), I guess Macs simply not usable if you are on dial-up. Fortunately this one is at work but I could never have one at home on this basis.
I plugged in my Palm so I could transfer my contacts and diary expecting it to recognise it and install the appropriate software automatically like it does on a PC - but nothing happens.
I found an application called isync with just two buttons labelled 'sync devices' and another labelled .mac. The .mac button is something to do with the internet so I tried the 'sync devices' button which seemed logical. It then asked me to add a device and then says it can't find any device. There is no help button on this application so I don't know what version it is but it didn't update when I downloaded all that stuff so I assume it is the latest - can anyone explain how to add a Palm (well Sony Clie TH55 actually) device and transfer the data?
I think the MacPro is now running v10.4.11 if that helps.
So far my Mac experience is not good, I was toying with getting a MacBook for my personal use, but it seems a lot to pay for something that is less easy to use than WindowsXP. Incidentally how do you guys manage without a right mouse button - Firefox underlines mis-spelt words as normal but there is no right button to correct them...

The Palm Desktop is available to download from the Palm site:

though this doesn't list the Clie devices and you may need to check which version you should be using. The Desktop will run on 10.4.
The 'Apple' key is the Command key.
You may need USB Overdrive - a useful program - unless the mouse comes with a Mac driver (some Miscrosoft mice do). Apple's Might Mouse will work fine.
USB overdrive usefully allows you to assign the same mouse click to do different things in different programs.

How do i delete an incorrect e mail on i cloud?

hubby spelt our e mail wrong and set it up as the primary Icloud ID, as it's mis spelt I can't verify
I already set up an ID for the correct spelling but it says it's not my primary account?
When I try to edit the mis spelt e mail address to the correct one it says i can't as that one already exists
When i go to edit the correct one to delete it, theres no delete button?
HELP!
would it work if i misspelt the non primary one and let me correct the primary?

You can't change the primary email address once created. Your only options are to create a completely new ID and iCloud account, or add an email alias to the existing account (and alias is an extra address, not account, which delivers into the same inbox as the primary address).
Note that new aliases will be @icloud.com only, not @me.com (the same is true of the address in a new account) and that at present some people are finding they cannot create aliases because the roll-out of @icloud.com addresses isn't complete.

How do I change the email address linked to iCloud

When I open icloud on my devices using my apple ID, my ID/ email address shows as the user but the email address listed in the advanced tab is a me.com address. This would be fine but it is a mid-spelt version of my name at me.com. I can log in to the correctly spelt version of my name at me.com via apple ID but cannot use this. It seems that in the move from me.com to iCloud I have ended up with an association to mis-spelt me.com. Can I change this? If not, I am happy to set up a fresh iCloud account but I still have the issue of disassociating the mis-spelt address which seems to be something Apple do not allow. apple have told me to start from scratch - new ID, new iCloud and all linked to a new email address that I would need to set up. This seems tediculous!
Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can do it directly on your iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and logging into it. Or you can do it via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or via http://appleid.apple.com

How can I remove a misspelled username or e-mail addy that is saved in the drop down menu without removing all of them?

When you see one of those mis-spelt items, highlight it and then hit the Delete key (or hit {Ctrl + Delete} on some platforms).

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
