Autogeneration of employee numbers after uploading old employee numbers.
Hi All
I have to migrate employees data including old employee numbers which are in numeric format. Once the employee data is uploaded, the new employee numbers are to be autogenerated.
When the employee generation method is automatic, the P_employee_number parameter has to be NULL. If its NULL I cant upload the old employee numbers.
How to upload the old employee numbers while keeping the number generation as automatic?

Set your Employee Number generation as Manual. After data migration, change it to automatic. This can be done using the concurrent program "Change Person Numbering to Automatic".

How to add page numbers to cover old page numbers that were made manually.
I have this checklist document that consists of 13 pages which was made from an older document. I just completed filling out over 50 copies of this document with information from the field. I then noticed that the page numbers all say "Page 3 of 14." Every page is called page 3. The original document had page numbers at the bottom of the page, but the text can't be covered up when I try to just add a footer and auto insert page numbers there. I did however notice that I am able to apply page numbering/ footer settings to multiple documents. If only I could add a box automatically to cover up the mistake area first. Is there a way to maybe add a white filled text box automatically to every page in this location, and then apply these settings to all 50 documents?

Place the page number in a page header, and it will appear on each age when in Print View and when the file is prnted.
May have changed in Numbers 3 (current version).

I need your assistance to understand following problem.
Suppose a company is existing from 1990 and it has configured SAP in 2012. the company has decided to start the payroll through SAP from march 2012, however the company has decided to maintain the old data from 1990 to Feb 2012 in SAP (the data includes employees master data and their payroll and tax details).
my query is,
1) where to upload old employees monthly payment data from 1990 to 2012?? in which table? can we do it directly without control record?
2) while processing the payroll we use control record in which we select release, correct, check & exit functions. do we have to do the same thing while we upload the old payroll data through LSMW?
3) during early stage of company, it started operations at different location (rented office) with different people, most of the people has left the company but some of them are yet available in the company. how can we configure these poeple payroll area and payroll subarea ??

sambalIts very complicated to upload the payroll results from 1990.Why the client want to upload the payroll results in SAP from 1990 and its best practise that you upload the payroll results from the start of the recent financial year.
You can upload the Legacy payroll results in table T558B(Period Wise) and T558(Wagetype wise).

Hi Experts,
I am uploading one employee photo in ecc 6.0,Thats completed successfull.Now i am planning to upload bulk number of employee photos in to sap as well as in to ESS.I am tried to upload of 2000 employee photos through bdc ,but while running the BDC its asking the selection of employee photos from the location.So kindly update your views on this how to upload all employee photos with out manuall selection of photos.

Hi I would like to do a mass upload of employee pics to R/3 . I have tried the FM, ARCHIV_CREATE_FILE and it was uploaded successfully but I'm unable to specify the infotype. which for my case I would need it to be in IT0002.

Uploading old CRM activities into the system
Good afternoon
In our company we want to upload old CRM activities into the system (CRM 4.0)
By doing so we also want to change the "created by" field with the initials of the user that used to make the activity.
This is a problem since some of the users are no longer with us in the company. Therefore they do not have a working SAP account, but we still want to add their name in the field.
Is this possible and what do we have to do?

If you do not want to program, you can also upload the activities with the external list management (ELM) or the LSMW workbench. However, in your case I would create the old employees still as BP's in the system and assign them to the activities in the partner function 'Employee Responsible'.
The 'Created By' field is filled automatically and will be filled with the user loading the activities. Of course you can later overwrite them directly with ABAP in the DB, but this is not such a good idea as this data would e.g. not be replicated to mobile sales (if you use it).
So better do the following:
1. make sure all employees are as standard business partners and employees in the system (they might have a deletion flag, if they no longer exist in the company)
2. upload the activities with a partner function pointing to the former employees
3. If you want, you can then still update the created by field on the DB directly by getting the employee out of the partner function.

What do numbers after Serial # represent?
My thinkpad R61 has numbers after the Serial #. There are 2 digits followed by slash and then 2 more digits, can someone tell me if that is a manufacture date or what? If this is a date and I purchase brand new in 05/08 would you say the date should be around this date time?

It is the manufacture date and is in the format YY/MM.

Data in CSV uploads successfully, but it is not visible after upload.

I am using Apex 3.2 on Oracle 11g.
This is an imported application for which I am making changes as per my requirements. As I am new to Apex and even SQL, I request forum members to help me with this.
Please find below the old code for uploading data from CSV. It displays only 6 columns - Database Name, Server Name, Application Name, Application Provider, Critical, Remarks. This was successfully uploading all the data from CSV and that data was visible after upload.

You can see the installed dictionaries and change between them by right-clicking and choosing '''Languages''' inside a live text box eg. the box you are in when replying or right-clicking on the '''Search''' box on the top right corner of this page and choosing '''Check Spelling'''. -
Iphoto will not work after uploading yosemite
After uploading the Yosemite upgrade. The iPhoto will not work. I have done what the software recommends. I have deleted the app and reloaded it. I get the same message. The message that i get is:
your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable.
shut down and restart your computer and then open iPhoto again. if the problem persists. try rebuilding your photo library. to do this quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the option and command keys pressed. you can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
MattDownload iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
Calculator don't display numbers after comma in RPN mode

PascalI'm not going to create a new thread for this but the calculator has some SERIOUS problems.
In scientific (yeah, right) mode, try dividing -1 by 2 and you'll see that it is, despite all the math you might think you know, POSITIVE one-half. (You probably thought dividing a negative number by a positive one would give you a negative number. You silly.)
Also, while I'm resurrecting old and ignored threads, why can't the Programmer mode have a "word size" similar to the significant digits size for the other modes? Trying to do a series of shift operations on a 16 or 8 bit number is utterly inconvenient when it shows me 64 bit mode only.
I suppose I can just keep my HP calculator next to computer for now since it's 17 years old, does RPN perfectly, and knows how to do basic math properly, but that seems to be missing the point that the Calculator should work right. -
How do I "copy" a project to make needed edit changes after uploading to Youtube?
I have imovie 2013. After uploading a project to Youtube, I needed to make an edit. I deleted the video from Youtube and did the needed edit using my original project. After re-uploading it to Youtube, I saw that the edit did not appear...it was still the original video.
I figured I needed to create a new project with a new project name, make the necessary edit, and then upload this second, edited project. Of course, I don't want to start from scratch and I want to "copy and paste" the old version to the new version, make the needed change, etc. I have no idea how to do this. Click on your original movie (project) in the Event so that it is highlighted. From iMovie's menu select Edit > Duplicate Movie. A copy will be placed in the Event below the original. It will have the same name but with a number appended (number 1, given that this is the first duplicate). You can rename the duplicate if desired. You can also make as many duplicates as required. Projects (including duplicates) don't take up much space as they basically link to the media in the Event (as well as keep track of your edits, transitions, titles, music and so forth).
Edit the duplicate and upload it to YouTube. It should be treated as a separate movie.

Cannot open old Page & Numbers Doc. after installing Yosemite 10.10
I found a fix. I opened up the document (either Page or Numbers) in Preview. Then under Edit I hit Select All and then Copy. Then I opened up Page or Numbers and opened a blank document. Then under Edit I hit Paste and Match Style. Then Save Document under new name.
