Automate whole database export

Hi everybody,
I'd like to export the whole tables of my Oracle XE 10g database.
I want to export it in CSV files for each table.
Ho w can I do that?
Regards,
Zakaria.

>
but how can I automate the process to export the whole database tables?depending on os on which this will be run, you could create batch script in windows and schedule a task, or you could create shell sricpt and and place it
in crontab. Also you could do automation on the database level http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/scheduler/htdocs/scheduler_fov.html

  • Exporting whole database (10GB) using Data Pump export utility

    Hi,
I have a requirement that we have to export the whole database (10GB) using Data Pump export utility because it is not possible to send the 10GB dump in a CD/DVD to the system vendor of our application (to analyze few issues we have).
Now when i checked online full export is available but not able to understand how it works, as we never used this data pump utility, we use normal export method. Also, will data pump reduce the size of the dump file so it can fit in a DVD or can we use Parallel Full DB export utility to split the files and include them in a DVD, is it possible.
Please correct me if i am wrong and kindly help.
Thanks for your help in advance.

You need to create a directory object.
    sqlplus user/password
    create directory foo as '/path_here';
    grant all on directory foo to public;
    exit;
    then run you expdp command.
Data Pump can compress the dumpfile if you are on 11.1 and have the appropriate options. The reason for saying filesize is to limit the size of the dumpfile. If you have 10G and are not compressing and the total dumpfiles are 10G, then by specifying 600MB, you will just have 10G/600MB = 17 dumpfiles that are 600MB. You will have to send them 17 cds. (probably a few more if dumpfiles don't get filled up 100% due to parallel.
Data Pump dumpfiles are written by the server, not the client, so the dumpfiles don't get created in the directory where the job is run.

  • Export whole database with all stored data

how can i export the whole database with all tables, sequences, views etc to a textfile and then import it again? it should contain all availabe data.
    thank you.

    Joshua,
You can use the Data Pump import and export utilities to export and import an entire database (or traditional import and export utilities if pre-10g database).
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B13789_01/server.101/b10825/toc.htm
The export is not to a text file, though.

  • How to export and import on another computer whole database connection

    Hi
how to export and import on another computer whole database connection with all contents ?
    step by step

From the "source" computer do this:
    1) Open SQLDeveloper.
    2) Right click on the main connections node and choose export connections.
    3) Select the connections you want exported and choose a file name and location to save them.
    4) Save the file by clicking OK then copy it to the destination PC.
On the "destination" PC assuming you have already installed SQLDeveloper do this:
    1) Open SQLDeveloper.
    2) Right click on the main connections node and choose import connections.
    3) Browse to the connections file you copied earlier and select the connection you saved.
    4) Complete the import by clicking OK and you are done.
Mind that this is sufficient only if you have only basic connections, if you have TNS connections you will also need to manually copy the Tnsnames file from the "source" PC to the "destination" PC and set the
Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Advanced Tnsnames directory
to the directory where you copied the Tnsnames file.

  • Database export stops with the following warnings.

    Hello,
    I am doing a Database Export/Import Activity. My DB is MS SQL server 2000 and SAP R/3 (4.6C SR2 , 4.6D kernel).
When i try to do a DB export with option split STR and EXT files, my export stops abruptly without giving any erorrs but with a whole list of warnings.
My splitting procedure is using SPLITSTR.PL perl script. I am not using the latest java based split.
For your reference i am pasting the whole DBEXPORT.log file.

  • SQL Developer 1.5.1 - Database Export - Exporting Column Comments

I have tried using the Database Export tool in SQL Developer 1.5.1 to export statements for "comment on column" but with no success. Is there a way to get these statements included in the DDL?
    rasberry

When you select 'table' the comments are generated 'automatically'.
    This is what you want?

  • SQL Developer - Database Export - Constraints not included in DDL

I have used the Database Export function available in the Tools menu but have been unsuccessful in getting the referential integrety and check contraints to export. These are the steps I take:
    Environment: Windows XP Professional.
    SQL Developer 1.5.1
    Tools>Database Export
In Source/Destination I select the filename and the database source and check:
    Show Schema
    Terminator
    Pretty Print
    Add Force to Views
    Include Grants
In Types to Export I check all except Data.
In Specify Objects I select the Schema I want to export.
None of the foreign_key or check constraints are shown but I select all of the objects.
    Export Summary
    File:C:\Documents and Settings\richardk.asbury\My Documents\EER\eer3.sql
    Connection:ENVD
    DDL Options
         Show Schema
         Terminator
         Pretty Print
         Add Force to Views
Necessary object dependencies will be included in export.

There are numerous Check and Foreign_key constraints missing in created DDL.
    Im I missing a step?
    rasberry

Actually all tables were included and the Automatically Include Dependent Objects option was checked.
For an example, the first table exported A_EMIS_TOXIC_DTL had the following constraints:
    FK_A_EMIS_TOXIC_DTL2HDR     Foreign_Key
    NN_A_EMIS_TOXIC_DTL_ID     Check
    PK_A_EMIS_TOXIC_DTL_ID     Primary_Key
The primary key constraint was included in the DDL but none of the others.

  • Full Database Export/Import

I was attempting to export a full database from one server (DB files on the N: drive) and import it into a freshly created new database with the same instance name on a new server (DB files on the D: drive).
    I was told to:
    1) Export the full database as sys using full=y
    2) Pre-create all of the tablespaces on the target database that do not exist on the target database
    3) Import the full database as sys using full=y
    =========================================================
Here are the steps I had to follow:
    1) Export the full database as sys using full=y
    2) Pre-create all of the tablespaces on the target database
    3) Import the full database as sys using full=y - Result: over 1900 invalid objects and thousands of errors
    4) Run Utlrp.sql - Result: 8 to 10 invalid objects
    5) Manually attempt to compile or rebuild objects. Several grants were required to get most of these to work. - Result: After quite a bit of hand crafting, two objects are still invalid.
    6) After spending almost two hours in a Collaborative Conference with an analyst who is working very hard to sold this, there are still two objects that are invalid.
Note: From my perspective this is not a straight forward process
    =========================================================
    Questions:
    1) Has anyone successfully moved a database as described without all of these annoying steps?
    2) Is there a document that details the full database export/import?
    Thanks, RJZ

    Hello RJZ,
There is not sufficient information to reply accurately to your queries,
    1. Could you post the error message that you're getting when you compile these two programs? Do they compile okay on the old server?
    2. What was the reason you choose exp and imp, to move your db to the new server and different disk? Were you migrating to a different version, or was it because of the db-reorg? It would have been possible to simple copy the db-files to the new location, and then rename the datafiles in mount-state. It would be more simpler I believe unless as stated above
Did you check the import logs? While importing were there any errors? Actually it should have been pretty straight forward (no reason why you need documentation for exp / imp). Grants should have automatically come, unless you have select grants=n option
I think because of the changes you have done for step-5, you might have changed some stuff somewhere. Please post the error message, and tell us if you have migrated the db to a higher version

  • Database export from 32 bit to 64 bit...

    Hi All,
I have one question about database export/import on different OS version i.e. 32 and 64 bit.
I have below setup: I took one schema in export and import...
    export from : window-2003 server : 32 bit : ORACLE Database: 10.2.0.4.0
    import into : window-2003 server : 64 bit : ORACLE Database: 10.2.0.1.0
and vise-verca is also working without any error or warnigns!!!
from 32 to 64 bit (migrate from smaller to bigger )its okay but from 64 to 32 bit its also working !!! I really don't understand how its possible... not a single warning...
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks,
    Swati

export basically consists of DDL and DML statements. These statements are platform independent. Only index definitions are exported, the indices are NOT exported.
export does NOT copy or dump datafiles.
As Microsoft wants to enslave the whole world, Sukkelserver will never be platform-indepedent.

  • Import the whole database

    Hi everyone.
    I am using database 7.3.2.
I exported the whole database and I want to import the whole database from the exported file.
please could anyone provide me with the steps to import the whole database and what should I do in **details**.
    bye.

    Hi,
what should I do exactly before I start importing my database, should I drop all the users or what exactly please. The exact steps depend on your database, used objects and so on. You have to try it in a development environment first. Doing so will probably yield some problems - or none if you are lucky. In addition to that you will know the required timeframe for export and import.
If you just want to get rid of chained rows you might try "alter table move" or "create table as select"; but i dont know if these were available in 7.3 (most probably 7.3 was release prior my birth ^^)

  • Replicate a whole database

    Hi,
Can I replicate a whole database with goldengate,
Do I need to create the tables in the target database in adbanced or can I create the whoel thing with gg?
Is there some example of it?
    THanks

    Hi,
You can replicate all the schema objects from one database to another with help Oracle GoldenGate, But the below reserved schema objects will not be replicated ,OGG will ignore these schemas from the replication. There is no option available for whole database replication in single command like database name.* instead of this you can use schema name. * , it will replicate all the table transaction which related the particular schema.
Before start the replication between the database the both source and target database should be in sync mode like same structure, constraints, rows ...etc... for this there are different options are available to do the initial load, depends on your database size... even you can use GG for this initial load purpose but its not recommanded for high volume of databases. you can find several different option available for sync up your both database , for example Oracle export /import, Rman TTS ...file , loader .... etc
You can refer Oracle® GoldenGate Windows and UNIX Administrator’s Guide(Chapter 15) and installation guide for more details with example.
The following schema names are considered Oracle-reserved and must be excluded from the Oracle GoldenGate DDL configuration. Oracle GoldenGate will ignore these schemas.

    Hello,
    acording to this output:
    /sapmnt/BIA/exe/R3load -datacodepage 1100 -e /SAPinst_DIR/SAPCLUST.cmd -l /SAPinst_DI
    R/SAPCLUST.log -stop_on_error
you are doing the export with a non-unicode SAP codepage. The codepage has to be 4102/4103 (see note #552464 for details). There is a screen in the sapinst dialogues that allows the change of the codepage. 1100 is the default in some sapinst versions.

  • How can I include Java objects in a 'Database Export'?

I am running a 'Database Export' to produce a DDL script for all objects in the schema.
I have some objects of type JAVA SOURCE and JAVA CLASS in my schema, but they are not included in the DDL script. Is there a way to get them included?
    Version is 3.0.04.
    Thanks,

    Any suggestions on this?

  • Error while database export in package SAPDODS_33 (Unicode conversion)

    Hello,
I am performing Unicode conversion on an upgraded BI 7.0 system. This is running on AIX/DB2.
When I take database export for conversion, one package fails (SAPDODS_33) with error "The file system is full". In fact, df -k doesn't show that any file system is full.
I am taking the export to the following location: /db2/BWS/sapdata/EXPORT_DIR
There are 3 system-managed temporary tablespaces: PSAPTEMP, PSATEMP16 & SYSTOOLSTMPSPACE which were residing in /db2/BWS/saptemp1/NODE0000. This was getting full during the export. Now these temp.tablespaces have been relocated to a new file system of size 15GB.
But still the package SAPDODS_33 doesn't get exported. Could you please let me know how to solve this issue?
    Thanks a lot!
    Sundar.

    Hi Sundar,
if the problem is due to a high temp space usage. The root cause is typically the
sort during export. If the table is large, the sort spills to temp.
You can avoid the sort by doing an unsorted export or tweak the DB2 optimizer to use the primary key to do the sort.
Before DB2 9, you can reduce the OVERHEAD tablespace parameter to zero. Return this value to its previous value after the successful export. This is a indirect hint to the optimizer that random IOs are cheap. This might not help.
With DB2 9, this should not happen, because the  DB2_OPT_MAX_TEMP_SIZE=10240 registry variable is set under DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP which limits the temp space usage to 10GB if possible. You can reduce this parameter further if necessary. Another problem could be that the optimizer has chosen the wrong temp space. The optimizer choses the temp space with the largest amount of pages (not size).
