Automated Database dbsetup file does not exist in the 8.4 EPPM Installation media as suggested in documentation

For a version 8.4 new installation the documentation states to run dbsetup from either the Professional OR EPPM media file.  The Professional media for EPPM has the dbsetup file in it, the EPPM media does not.  Is this intended?  Can I just run dbsetup from the Pro media for EPPM and it will create the correct database?  I've had issues with earlier versions doing that.
This is all that is in the EPPM documentation:
You can use either Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server on your database server for P6 EPPM installations. You must install the database server before you can create the P6 EPPM database.
Note: When using an Oracle database, you must install Oracle Multimedia, along with these supporting components: Oracle JVM, Oracle XML DB (XDB), and XML Developer's Kit (XDK). Unless you specify otherwise, all these components automatically get installed with the latest versions of an Oracle database (11g and later). If you chose not to install these components, you will need to install them before you install P6 EPPM. See the Oracle Multimedia's User's Guide on the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) for information on how to install these components.
PS:  I may have just answered it for myself - it appears that dbsetup is no longer the cmd being used, it is dbconfig instead.  I will post here if there an issues with this.

Hi,
The dbsetup.bat exists in the PPM and EPPM media files. In PPM or professional client the path is:
database\dbsetup.bat
In EPPM:
P6_R84\p6suite\database\
To create an EPPM database, you must use the dbsetup.bat from the EPPM media folder (The one to install P6 Web). To create a PPM database, use the file located in the professional client media folder.

Pablo

  • Process Chain to do nothing if file does not exist in the application serve

    Hi All,
We have a process chain that flows to different data targets daily if files delivered in the application server.
Process chain does works fine.  But my question is do we have anyway to stop the process chain or do not run process chain if it does not find the file available any days during this time range instead of failing.*
Is there any settings to enable the check if file available then run or else do not run at all.  Please help!!!
    Thanks,

Follow the function modules listed in :
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Workingwithfiles
with these function modules - you can get a list of files available in the application server directory.
    Pseudo code :
    1. Generate the automated fiel name you want
    2. Get the list of files in the directory
    3. Search the list of files to see if your file exists
    4. If the file exists then load the file , else load an empty file .
The code is unfortunately in a different BW system that I do not have access to at this moment... but then the procedre is the same as detailed above.

I must archieve the file after it got polled. and iam polling for every 60 mins, if the file does not exist,it is throwing an alert like "Could not process file '.file..xml: No such file or directory '
Is there any way i can avoid raising an alert if file does not exist in the source folder.
we are on XI 3.0 sp23?
    Thanks
    Srini

    Hello,
    Your Subject:
    >Sender File adpter --don't raise alerts when file does not exist in folder
    is contradictory to your question.
    >if the file does not exist,it is throwing an alert like "Could not process file '.file..xml: No such file or directory '
    > Is there any way i can avoid raising an alert if file does not exist in the source folder.
I know you want to say "Don't Raise alerts when file does not exist in folder". Correct me if I am wrong.
Some times it happens, when we write the right thing but it means something else and this is the reason many experts have replied, "how to raise an alert". So if you remove the word "Sender File adapter" from your subject then it will be easy to understand the exact meaning.

  • Dependencies file does not exist warning

Hi all, i am getting an error when creating a new project.  After adding my file, i right click and refresh dependencies.  LabVIEW cannot find the file WDT Get Waveform Subset.vi from the NI waveform vi.lib.
I can open my file with no errors as normal.
Have deleted the waveform folder from the vi.lib and repaired with LabVIEW 8.2 but still has same error.  When i ignore item, the file has a warning stating "file does not exist in the dependencies list.
    Anyone else seen this problem?
    Best Regards,
    Grant

    Hi Grant,
This is a strange problem most likley down to some linking errors within the project. I would recomend mass compiling the waveform directory and deleting and replacing the WDT Get Waveform Subset.vi from any VI's that use it in your project.

  • File does not exist: /oa_servlets/AppsLogin

    Hi.
The Apache error log reads thus: File does not exist: /oa_servlets/AppsLogin.
The login page appears. BUt when selecting the EBS suite link, or OAM link, the HTTP 404 Not Found appears.
I have checked that all services are up on the server. I have cleared the web cache and rebooted Apache.
The only change to this environment is that I took it out of archivelog mode today.

;    2. Parameter on command line to a reports jsp
    ;          e.g. http://machine/mydir/myreport.jsp?KEY
    ;    3. Within a reports jsp - in the rw:report custom tag
    ;          e.g. <rw:report parameters="KEY">
; In addition to the Reports Server command line parameters, VALUE can include special parameters
; represented as "%X", where X identifies the parameter. Currently recognized special
    ; parameters:
;  %0 - %9 - 0..9 arguments from original rwservlet URL request. Note that %0 refers to the key itself.
;  %* - entire contents (all arguments) of original rwservlet URL request.
;  %D - request users to input database userid everytime they run the report.
;  %P - request for report parameter form in HTML format. It generates the PARAMFORM=HTML
;       construction on the first submission of the URL and PARAMFORM=NO upon parameter form submission.
    ; CGICMD.DAT Usage Notes
;   1. Multiple keys in this file MUST be separated by an EXTRA empty line.
;   2. Extra spaces are ignored. Multi-line entries allowed.
;   3. Lines starting with ";" character are treated as a comments.
;   4. Comments within a key or key value are NOT allowed.
;   5. NLS language support is provided and can be used (encoding should match the one
;      used in HTML request - no language conversion of any kind is attempted.
;   6. For %P special parameter, HTML format is by default mapped to the HTMLTABLE format in this release.
;      The HTML format in the future may be mapped to the HTMLCSS format.

; Example 3: use %D to require user authentication every time

; Example 4:  Take all arguments from URL and send it to the reports server

As in the above file i have added a key as userlogin at the end of the file. But the reports server does not take the key that i have given. I followed the same steps provided in oracle docs. I used "showmap" to check the cgicmd file that is used by the reports
    http://aspirevm8-17.aspiresys.com:9002/reports/rwservlet/showmap?server=bluQubeReportsAtLocalEnv&destype&userid=SYMFINBT…
It shows me the content of the cgicmd.dat file and it also shows my updations. But in the "Parsed Map File Entries" it does not show my key value pair

Please help me to to make the key being populated here and being used by the reports server.
    Thanks,
    Priya

    uncomment #KEYPMAPFILE=CGICMD.DAT. remove the #
    then for development set
    reloadkeymap=yes (same file - rwservlet.properties).
Now it should reload everytime. (otherwise for every change u need to restart oc4j_bi_forms)
(For * production* may be you want to set reloadkeymap=no once all testing is done)
see cgicmd.dat for many examples of using keymap file

    Hi,
I would like to migrate from 6.5 to 3.1. I would like trasfer universe and reports with Import Wizard. But I receive this error:

So I can' t see my universes and *.rep files.
    What I can do?
    Thanks

    Hello
The following solution may work for u.
You may receive the above error message if BusinessObjects Enterprise tries to access  database after the associated RSS file has been deleted or corrupted. You need to replace the deleted or corrupted RSS file with a clean copy of the file, either from another BusinessObjects Enterprise installation
