Automated password emails for Users_Gen (Upload users from files)

Hello ,
when we upload new users from file in users_gen , an automated email is being sent to the users which contains the user's password.
Can you please let me know if we can change the text of that email , if yes how ..
I want to include an extra line when the mail is sent to the users ...

unfortunately the text is hard coded, so you need an ABAP-er. He would need to insert the following code:
Include: LBBP_MASS_CREATIONF02

      MOVE TEXT-010 TO MAIL_CONTENT-LINE.
      APPEND MAIL_CONTENT.

Hello, here is the snippet of the information of this transaction
Option 1: Upload Users from File (ASCII)
Prerequisite
The data fields for a user are in a row and are separated by a
semicolon. You can generate these files in MS Excel, for example, (save
the Excel sheet as file type CSV). The order of the fields is critical.
Example
o   D030456;Smith;50000105;[email protected];de
o   C00213445;Doe;50000106;[email protected];us
o   D23456;Moser;50010203;[email protected];dk
Note
In the menu under Goto -> Define Separator, you can determine if a
semicolon or a comma is to be accepted as a separator.
If all the data in the file is not accessible, default values are used
for the missing data. If the file contains an e-mail address, the system
generates a password and sends it via e-mail to the user. If the file
has not e-mail address, you are prompted to specify an initial password
for all users.
You must specify the technical key for the fields Academic title, Form
of address, Manager indicator, Role and Country.
o   You can find the system keys for the academic title in field
    TITLE_KEY of table TSAD2.
o   You can find the system keys for the address text in field TITLE of
    table TSAD3T.
o   If the user is to be a manager, you check the field Manager
    indicator.
o   If you are assigning a role for a user, the file must contain the
    technical name of the role. You should check in advance in
    Transaction PFCG if the role actually exists.

Upload users from File

Hi,
We are working on SRM 4.0 classic , SP 11.
We want to upload the users + cost center using upload users from file option in USERS_GEN transaction. The problem is we dont have the option of selecting the cost center and logical system on the main screen.
We have considered the OSS note Note 871216 - Cost Center not Updated with transaction Users_Gen. And the code corrections are already present in the system.
But the check boxes for selecting the cost center and logical sytem are not available.
Any guesses.

Thanks for the reply.
But the problem is selection of the check boxes for cost center and logical system, these two are not appearing on the screen.
I can down load the file format using option " Download user data to file". While doing this you have option of selecting data like fax number, telephone number etc. But there is no option of selecting the cost center / logical sytem.
On the same line while uploading the users I do not have the check boxes for the cost center / logical sytem. How can to activate these check boxes so that cost center data is also uplaoded while generating the users as well.

One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

Password Violation error while creating users from Admin interface

The Sun Identity Manager system throws policy violation error while creating users from Sun Identity Manager Admin interface.
Current System:
1. I have configured TAM Pass-Thru authentication for End User Login Application.
2. I have an admin user 'testsjimadmin1' who has admin capabilities. testsjimadmin1 user has default SJIM password policy.
3. I have custom password policies configured for different orgainizatoions
Problem:
1. The Sun Identity Manager throws a password policy violation error when 'testsjimadmin1' tries to create an user with valid or invalid password from Sun Identity Manager Admin interface.
2. If TAM Pass-thru authentication is removed for 'End User Login Application' and Sun Identity Manager default authentication is configured for 'End User Login Application' then testsjimadmin1 was able to create user successfully without any errors.

"pdf. protected by a password" error for a few users only

Lately I have had complaints that some of the users of my website are getting "pdf. protected by a password" errors when trying to open PDF files from our website. The files are created using abdpdf (abcpdf3.dll). For 99% of our userbase there seems to be no problem but for some we are now encountering this error. There is no password required to open the file (although there is an encryption owner password set), and the only other settings we have are that the ability to change, copy and edit are all set to false.
There doesn't seem to be a common denominator in regards to environments that the users encountering the problem are using.
Mac or PC users, Windows XP/7 etc, IE, Firefox, Chrome etc.
Just for clarification, the users are only trying to open the pdf, not edit it.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?

It appears that this may be an issue with Firefox 25 (it seems I was misinformed about the other browsers).
Info I got from a user:
The error only happens in Firefox Ver 25 I tried ver 24 and it worked OK an it also works on Internet Explorer or saving the link and opening the document with Adobe reader.
System info Windows 8.1
Firefox Ver 25
If this is the case is this the forum that I should be looking for answers on or should I go to Firefox for answers?

Upload user chosen file for the app to access directly

hello all,
i'd like my app to upload a user chosen file from user's hard
drive but i want the flash app to have direct access to the
uploaded bitmap rather than saving the file to the server via php.
i've seen examples to send the FileReference object to a
serverside script for uploading to the server but i just want the
flash app to use the bitmap w/o needing to save the file.
is the file data only uploaded by php or during the
FileReference.upload()? how to get access to the bitmap data?

Possible to delete Offline Files content for a specific user from the Client Side Cache (CSC) ?.

Hello Everyone,
We would like to implement a script to delete the offline files in the Client Side Cache (CSC) for a nominated user (on Windows 7 x64 enterprise).
I am aware that;
1. We can use a registry value to flush the entire CNC cache (for all users) next time the machine reboots.
2. If we delete the user's local profile it appears that Windows 7 also removes their content from the local CSC.
However, we would like to just delete the CSC content for a particular nominated user without having to delete their local user profile.
In our environment we have many users that share workstations but only use them occasionally. We don't use roaming profile so we would like to retain all the users' local profiles but still delete the CSC content for any users that haven't
logged on in a week.
Any ideas or info would be appreciated !

Blocking messages for over quota users from the frontend

Dear All,
Is there a way to bounce back messages from the frontend for users who are currently over quota instead of accepting the message, then routing it to the storage mailhost and then bouncing it from there? We have multiple storage mail hosts and multilpe inbound & outbound servers. All servers are running iMS 5.2 with latest patches. Due to the fact that most of the received messages are spam sent using fake addresses, bounce back messages queue up on the outboud mail servers until they expire.

Is it a good idea to cron recontruct -q?This shouldn't be necessary. If your quota database keeps getting 'out-of-sync' then this would need to be investigated.
During reconstruct -q we also got a number of these:

Powershell script for removing some users from a particular Site Collection

Hi,
I am looking for a PowerShell script to delete a few users from a particular Site Collection. I am unable to delete them from/_catalogs/Users/simple.aspx page therefore need some other medium to
delete users from the site collection.
My ultimate aim is to have no user profile with "tp_deleted" field's value as 0 in the USERINFO table. Currently there are about 40 odd users with this field's value as 0 and this is affecting my crawling of this content database.

I have a content source of root site which crawls all the site collections under it. Out of the 9 site collections, only 8 are getting crawled and 1 doesn't get crawled at all. The error in the crawl logs is
The SharePoint item being crawled returned an error when requesting data from the web service. ( Error from SharePoint site: Value does not fall within the expected range. )
I tried a lot of things, searched over the net and finally found
this which helped me solve the same issue in my development environment. I deleted these users from userInfo table and ran a full crawl. And the issue was fixed.
Now since I cannot delete the users from userInfo table directly from PROD environment, I used .../_catalogs/Users/simple.aspx list
to delete users from this site collection. While some of the users I could delete, quite a few I could not. Clicking on the profile redirected me to the home page rather than the info page of the profile.
This
is why I have to delete these users from the site collection.

If the user is externally authenticated, then the password expiry should be external. E.g for the unix account.
"When you choose external authentication for a user, the user account is maintained by Oracle, but password administration and user authentication is performed by an external service. This external service can be the operating system or a network service, such as Oracle Net.
With external authentication, your database relies on the underlying operating system or network authentication service to restrict access to database accounts. A database password is not used for this type of login. If your operating system or network service permits, you can have it authenticate users. If you do so, set the initialization parameter OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX, and use this prefix in Oracle user names. The OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX parameter defines a prefix that Oracle adds to the beginning of every user's operating system account name. Oracle compares the prefixed user name with the Oracle user names in the database when a user attempts to connect."

Desktop 4.6 error for lotus notes user id file: "the user id is invalid"

Hi everyone,
we've several bold9000 in service, using Desktop version 4.6
In one setup we've come accross "the user id is invalid" when trying to configure the desktop to use the user's ID file. In that case, it somehow was resolved when trying again after a reboot of the workstation - so we didn't really figure what the problem was and hence don't know the fix.
Now we've installed the desktop on another station where it refuses all ID files, even some which are definitely known-good as they are the ones used on other stations by other users. No matter if we try to do it with or without admin rights, no matter if we give the ID password before loading the ID file, we always get "the user id is invalid" as soon as we select it. We also tried to enter all possible ways of writing the user's name into the "for user" field before loading the ID - no change, always error.
Those IDs we've tried are definitely not invalid - at least not when used with Lotus Notes itself, it is perfectly happy to use them for user login.
This particular error gives exactly one unusable result for scribd.com on google, nothing more.
Anyone any idea? At the moment no BB for that user :-(

I'll answer my own question:
in the "advanced" section on the login screen, remove the tick box for "use default notes.ini file" and then browse manually for the notes ini file that is in use on this computer. This should then auto-fill the user name etc, and then the ID should be automatically used (or it should be happy to accept the one that it refused before) and should be accepted.
This is strange, as I've definitely set the user name and server name correctly when entering them manually. Anyhow, it worked.
(Hope Google will pick up this thread so that others may find it if they ever run into it....)

How can I reset my password if I never get the "forgot password" email for my iCloud account?

After upgrading to iOS7, my phone keeps bugging me to sign into my iCloud account when I can't remember my password. When I choose to resolve this, I never get the confirmation email back to reset my password and I've tried on my phone and on iCloud to reset my password but I never get the email to do so. Thus, I can't sign in and the pop-up asking me to sign in keeps popping up, it's driving me crazy! Has this happened to anyone and did you have to call technical support for this or did you find a work around?
