Automatic Update - deployment.properties problems with JRE 1.6.0_05

Hi!
This is a Automatic Updated daisable problem.
I have change the update policy values in the registry but still have one more problem:
I want to deploy JRE 1.6.0_05, in earlier versions ie 1.4 there has been a windows\sun\java\deployment where the initian deployment.properties file is located. But in the 1.6.X ther is no such folder and the deployment.properies file is still "copied" when you start ie "javacpl.exe" . I would like to disable the
choice "Download JRE automatically" in the javacpl.exe to "Never download..." but the initial choice when the file deployment.properties is created is "alway download..." .
Am I still save only with the registry key changes, or do I have to change the value in the deployment.properies and if so, where is the "original" copy that copies the file into C:\Document and Settings\[user]\Application data\Sun\Java\Deployment\
kindly,
manekin...

Hey lynchmob,
Try these steps to correct the problem, you need to be logged in as an administrator:
1. Go to the group policy editor. You can get they by typing gpedit.msc into the Run dialog.
2. Navigate to computer configuration->administrative templates->windows components->internet explorer.
3. Disable "make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per-user)".
4. Login with the user account and go to Internet Options.
5. Go to the Connection tab.
6. Click on the Lan Settings button.
7. You may notice that the proxy settings are not correct. Change the proxy settings to be whatever is required for your proxy.
8. Configure Java to use browser proxy settings.
9. Open the java console.
10. Set debug level to 5.
11. Press 'p' to reload proxy settings. Use the trace messages to verify correct proxy settings were loaded.

Java 6 you can't as Apple maintains it, and Java 7 you could if you uninstall it and Oracle provides the earlier version which they likely won't his last update fixed 37 remote exploits.
Java broken some software here and there, all you'll have to do is wait for a update from the other parties.

I've been using it on all of my computer without any problems. Remember you won't see any positive comments here. Everyone here is complaining about a problem. If you want a good experience with any upgrade or update first make a backup from which you can boot the computer. If you are installing an update, like 10.10.3 for example, always download and install the Combo Updater - OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update. Before you install any update or upgrade over an existing system you should do this:Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

  • Linux: /etc/.java/deployment/deployment.properties being ignored (JRE 7_17)

I'm trying to create a mandatory policy to roll out to users however I can't get the Control Panel to read the System Level deployment.properties in the location given by the documentation -
    /etc/.java/deployment/deployment.properties
    containing - deployment.system.config=/path/to/deployment.properties (world readable)
    deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
To test I've set the contents of
    /path/to/deployment.properties
    to include - deployment.trace.locked=true
    deployment.log.locked=true
    as well as the defaults.
However if I fire up ControlPanel as a standard user I don't see either of the log checkboxes ticked - even if I removed the local user's ~/.java
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    I've also tried deployment.trace=true / deployment.trace.locked etc but that doesn't work either.
It's the standard Oracle JRE I'm using,
    Any comments appreciated!
    Thank you.

These is a problem with 7u17 and 7u21 for all users on all platforms. You can read more about it here (http://www.labareweb.com/java-1-7-auto-update-deployment-with-sccmmdt/) and here (https://blogs.oracle.com/security/entry/maintaining_the_security_worthiness_of) is the lead developer of Oracle admitted (at the end) that the enterprise tools for JRE is broken. It seems we're at their mercy at the moment.

  • Problem with JRE and Yahoo applets

Hi, I couldn't find any answer for this anywhere else...
Whenever I try to play a Yahoo game, certain windows will "shake". For example, if I log into yahoo, then go to play their spades game, the applet will load without any problem. The game room will appear and everything seems to be fine. But if I click on the Start Panel, the borders of the Start menu will "shake" If I right click on anything, that menu will also shake. This only occurs while JRE is running the yahoo applet. Once I leave the yahoo game, everything returns to normal. If I use IE and MSVM, this problem does not occur. This problem does not seem to occur with other instances of Java either. Only Yahoo games. I tried searching Yahoo for an answer to this, but didn't find anything. When I tried getting help from them, they replied with an email to update Java and/or my browsers. Well, I am using version 1.4.2_04 of java, and have IE6 updated as of today. Also, I am using Opera version 7.54 and Firefox 0.93. This problem with Java and Yahoo occurs no matter which browser I am using. The only way to keep this from happening seems to be to use IE with MSVM. Any ideas?

That page does apply. Everything that you have written indicates conclusively that the Yahoo game you're playing is the source of the problem. The fact that it works with the MS jvm but not with the Sun jvm, that the Sun jvm works with other Java applets, etc all say the same thing - that Yahoo applets wer/are coded to work with the MS jvm, which uses MS extensions in violation of the Sun/MS licensing agreements. The statement at the bottom of the page is proof positive - your spades game is not listed by Yahoo as being fixed.
"07/17/03 - From Yahoo! Customer Care:
We have deployed a fix for the incompatibilities with the Sun JVM in the following games:
    Chess Gin Cribbage Euchre Bridge
Hearts Toki Toki Boom Graffiti Pool
We plan to upgrade the rest of the games on an ongoing basis. "
The Yahoo applet is the problem and requires repair...

  • Automatic update deployment

    Hi,
After I have understand the manual process of creating a new deployment, and deploy it to a collection, I try to learn the automatic process.
I have create a new rule, and configured all the relevent details.
When I run it, the updates are not downloaded to my sccm.
ServerA is the server who downloads from Microsoft Update.
ServerB is my sccm server + SUP, which takes the updates from ServerA
ServerA and ServerB are in differnet domains.
There is no problem when I access from ServerB to ServerA by netbios to the updates folder (WsusContent) in ServerA
The manual process works with no error, and the updates can be installed with no problem!

  • SCCM 2012 Update Group inconsistency Problem with Red marked Updates

    Hi everybody,
we have a big Problem with our SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 Enviroment, regarding of Update Groups which got out of sync.
we have a SCCM Site Infastructure with one CAS and 4 Primary Sites and on every Site is the SUP Role installed.
I don't know when this failure occours but i think it was after the CU3 Installation. The Installation itself went smooth without any Errors or Warnings.
The Problem is as following. We have some updates in Update Groups (all of them are Core XML Updates) which are out of sync and marked red as an invalid Update on 2 Primary Sites. On the CAS Site and the 2 other Primary SItes they are marked as green (downloaded
    yes and deployed yes)
We have no Replication issues regarding the Replication Status (everything is synchronized to 100%) and the Replication Link Analyzer does also show no Problems at all.
I now deleted the Deployments and the SW Update Group waited until the replication was fine and created a new one and downloaded these patches on one of the Primary Sites which had shown this Failure.
The Result was not good. It looks like before. On the CAS and 2 Primary Sites the Deplyment is shown as downloaded but on the other 2 Sites the Status is again Downloaded=no.
Does anybody have any idea what to do now ? I checked objmgr.log and rcmctr. log but found nothing what shows me the way in the right direction.
Thx for your time, and it would be fine if anybody can share knowledge about this failure and how to fix it.
All other Ideas are also welcome.
Thx a lot in advance and have a nice bug free day :-)

    Hi,
Please try to manually synchronize software updates from the CAS and monitor the WSUSCtrl.log, WCM.log and wsyncmgr.log on the CAS and Primary sites.

  • IE 7 problem with jre version 1.4.1

We are experiencing a problem with a site that is running java applets. It requires version 1.4.1. After logging into this site, a second window should appear. There are several times when that second window will attempt to open but then closes immediately. The only fix that I have found is to open the Java Console (tools>Sun Java Console) with the browser open and then immediately close the console.
Is there another workaround or fix?
    Thanks

Starting in JRE 5.0u7 and 6, we have family clsid support for the 1.4.2 and 5.0 JRE family. Please refer to Deploying Java Applets With Family JRE Versions in Java Plug-In for Internet Explorer for details. In your HTML page you can specify the 1.4.2 family clsid so that the latest installed JRE 1.4.2 version on the machine will be used. Note that we no longer support JRE 1.4.1. Please migrate your applet to JRE 1.4.2 or newer JRE versions.

  • Deploying application: problem with deploying configuration window

    Hi all,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.0 and I am trying to deploy an application with customization classes.
I have followed the step of the manual (35.2 creating an Application Server Connection), then I have created the deployment profile (inserting my customization class in a jar file) and the deployment descriptor.
When I try to deploy my application, appears a popup with a window that has the title "Deployment Configuration" with only the "MDS" tab with two List Of Values that I can not compile/fill
    I have this error:
MAR archive 'metadata1.mar' did not have any metadata content, not added to EAR (even if in application properties --> Deployment --> myEarFile --> application assembly --> I have checked the file MAR; if I check the file MAR I can compile an input text with the label PATH in EAR and I don't know what put in it).
Wrote Enterprise Application Module to C:\Users\acosta\Documents\Applicazioni java\DeployProva3\deploy\application1.ear

    What is the problem?

    1. While trying to install BIOS Update 6.70-WIN (29/11/13) it says that:
"The version of ROM file is the same as that of BIOS"
and it stops. In the DOS window it shows one phrase:
"NOT Windows 8 Platform, using Windows 7 update...".
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit system but recently there has been major automatic update done to it.
I got lost. Is there anything I can do to update BIOS?
    2. Earlier it says that Flash process will be terminated and I need to "contact OEM BIOS engineer to add the NV storage location by HISII interface". But if I want to risk I can continue etc.
Previously I took the risk and updating went well.
But is there possibility to contact OEM BIOS engieneer?

    Hi
    >While trying to install BIOS Update 6.70-WIN (29/11/13) it says that:
    >"The version of ROM file is the same as that of BIOS"
What is the present BIOS version which is available on your notebook?
In case the BIOS is already up to date, the BIOS flash procedure will be interrupted.
    >"NOT Windows 8 Platform, using Windows 7 update...".
Im not quite sure about the meaning of this information but it looks like the BIOS update was released for Windows 8 system and probably its required to upgrade the system from Windows 7 to Windows 8 in order to be able to flash the BIOS
By the way: why you want to update the BIOS? Just because new version is available?
Please note that BIOS update does not improve the notebook performance but fixes some issues. In case your notebook runs properly, the BIOS update is not very important

  • Strange problem with JRE

    Greetings,
I'm seeing a problem with a JRE on one machine that is behaving strangely. The problem is that it is slow. I was wondering if anybody's great troubleshooting mind would have anything to throw at this problem.
There are two machines that run a Java app. Each machine is a few years old. They have dual core Athlons. One runs the app quickly, and one runs the app slowly. Both have very similar hardware (including motherboards and network cards). Both have Windows XP Pro (32-bit), fully patched. The machines each have two IP addresses, two subnet masks, and two gateways. They have a persistent static route to the server that the Java app is talking to.
The machine that runs the app quickly has 1 GB of RAM, and older device drivers. The machine that runs it slowly has 2 GB of RAM.
The Java app runs on both on JRE 1.5.0.12 because the developer does not support a later version.
The slow machine runs every application very fast, except for the Java app. The slowness on the one machine is particularly noticeable while the app talks over a network. Both are on the same network and are talking to the same server. A traceroute to the server on the slow machine indicates that every time (in ms) is the same except for one hop, in which it is double.
Unfortunately, the application needs to be running fast. The delay on the slow machine is unacceptable for what it is doing.
We have looked at the network traffic it appears that the slow machine is taking a lot longer to start talking to the network. That is where it is slow. The faster machine starts talking immediately, gets a reply immediately, and is done.
While the slow machine is taking a long time to start talking on the network, javaw.exe is taking up about 50% of the CPU time (according to Task Manager). This goes on for 30 to 60 seconds. This long, extended CPU time does not happen on the fast machine.
The JRE has already been reinstalled on the slow machine.
The slow machine has been scanned for malware, including with Combofix and Malwarebytes. It has had version 11 of Symantec Endpoint Protection running on it, fully updated. I don't think there is any malware installed.
Any ideas? I am pulling my hair out on this one. I suppose we could just reinstall Windows and start over. Any ideas that would be better?
    Thanks.

  • JDK 1.6 update n and compile with JRE

With the new optimizations of the install of a JRE with java 6 update n, is it possible to compile with jre and just the parts of the jre that you need for your application? That is can we distribute a java application that only have the parts of the JRE that it needs to a user that do not have any JRE isntalled and he can run it?
    Thanks
    WildChild

The license of Sun does not allow you to distribute just part of the JVM. The only solution to run your application in a computer without JVM is bundle your whole JRE folder together with your application.
At first it sounds bad, but if you use an installer to compress your files, the JRE will be around 14mb.
    Check this tool

  • Install Oracle 9 - Problem with jre

    Hi,
I have problems with the Oracle Installer in Suse 8.0. The installer hangs when it launchs
the configurations tools setup ( near of end of installation ).
The line is below. It looks like that the installer is trying to use another
JRE version ( 1.1.8 ) of than required ( 1.3 ). When I run the line below with the version
1.3 ( out of installer ) I DONT get the SEGMENTATION FAULT.
    Thank you,
    Faria
Launched configuration tool Oracle Net Configuration Assistant
Command which is being spawned is /opt/oracle/OraHome/JRE/bin/jre -native
    -Duser.dir=/opt/oracle/OraHome/network/jlib -classpath /opt/oracle/OraHome/JRE/lib/i18n.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/JRE/lib/rt.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/ewt3.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/ewtcompat-3_3_15.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/netcfg.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/network/jlib/netcam.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/network/jlib/netca.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/help3.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/oracle_ice5.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/share.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/swingall-1_1_1.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/jlib/srvm.jar:/opt/oracle/OraHome/network/tools oracle.net.ca.NetCA /orahome /opt/oracle/OraHome /instype typical
    /inscomp client,oraclenet,javavm,server /insprtcl tcp,tcps /cfg local /authadp NO_VALUE /nodeinfo NO_VALUE /responseFile /opt/oracle/OraHome/network/install/netca_typ.rsp

If you are using Slackware, install glocale package, otherwise, search which package has LC_MESSAGE files and install it.
Now... run runInstaller again... and voila....
I took 1 day to find it out!
    Good luck!

  • Problems with JRE installation 1.6.0_18 in silent mode

    Hi!
I have problems with installing the JRE from the cmd line in silent mode and in a directory with spaces in the path.
If I remove the spaces in the INSTALLDIR, the JRE installs in the directory I have specified but not when I use spaces in the path.
The command I run is following:
    jre-6u18-windows-i586.exe /s /v"/qn INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\company\product test\java\""
all I get is the help window to the windows installer with the different options. What am I missing?
    BR,
    /Peter

    Hi
    You  should install this Patch:
Patch 13948973: JDEV 11.1.1.6.0 FREEZES IN CUSTOMIZATION MODE DUE TO DEADLOCK
After the installation the JDev works fine again.
