Automatically disable user accounts after specific number days Oracle Apps

Hi All,
Is there a way, using group policy or any other method to automatically disable a user account if it hasnt been used (ie,, no has logged on using that account) after a certain amount of days??
This is something I would like to apply enterprise wide, so setting expiry dates on each users object is out, and obviously I only want to apply this to inactive accounts.
Thanks in advance
Saquib

Saquib,
There is no such profile option. However, you can write a code to check LAST_LOGON_DATE in FND_USER table and based on this you can disable/lock the account.

  • Disabling user account after 24hrs

    Hi all.
We have a requirement to disable new user accounts if they are not logged into within 24hrs of creation, I suspect this can be done with some Powershell however I can't really think how.... Any ideas?
    Cheers :)

    Hi there,
    This should get you started.
    $when = (get-date) - (new-timespan -days 5)
    Get-ADUser -properties created,lastlogondate -filter { created -gt $when } | ? { $_.lastlogondate -eq $null }
It's not a perfect answer to your question but it should get you in the right direction.

  • Disable user account after 3 consecutive unsuccessful attempts

    Hi All,
I like to implement the logon disable features after 3 consecutive unsuccessful logon attempts .I know that this features can take care of BI tools like Business Objects WEBI . But any idea how to implement this in HTMLDB.
Any early response will be highly appreciable.
    Cheers,
    Rosy

    Hi Rosy,
If you're managing your own account information (e.g. storing users in a table), then you can implement this feature yourself quite easily. You would need to store the number of failed attempts for that user against their entry in the table. In your authentication function (which you have also written yourself) when the user attempts to authenticate you would have a bit of logic that increments the failure count by one if their password doesn't match.
You could also have a scheduled job which runs every X minutes/hours to reenable any accounts that have been locked out.
If you're using an LDAP directory, then this can be done fairly automatically for you if the directory supports it.

  • Unable to log in to user account after installing windows 7 using Bootcamp

    Hi everyone,
I need help. I have been at it for days, I have googled every which way but I am not able to fix this. Basically my problem is that I am unable to log in to my user account after I used Bootcamp to install windows 7. I will explain what I did up until I couldn't log in.
I backed up my user account using Time Machine(I was logged in as the user). The account had FileVault activated and I neglected to disable FileVault before back up. I just didn't think to, it did not even occur to me! Then I partitioned Macintosh HD, I was doing this with my step son and he thought we were supposed to partition the hard drive first before running Bootcamp! After that was done, I couldn't run Bootcamp because obviously we had whipped the HD clean! Anyway, I reinstalled the OS X using the internet, after which I run Bootcamp and successfully installed windows 7. Then I went on to restore my account using Time Machine, only when I try to log in I get the error message "you are unable to log in to the user account at this time". I tried every possible solution I could find on here, including creating a new admin account, deleting the old account but saving the user folder and then routing the new account to the old user folder. Still nothing. I have tried logging in as a root user, reset the master password and deleted FileVault files from Library/keychain in the hope I would access the user account, but to no avail. What's more is that I can't even see the sparse bundle or sparse image files that people keep referring too. I can't even find it on the Time Machine back up! I then thought I would cut my losses and try system recovery using Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery (cost me £81) but it did not recover any of my photos, music, videos or documents.
I honestly can't come to terms with the fact that I am unable to login to an account with 3 years worth of pictures and documents. I am having a hard time letting go. Is there anyway possible to crack this?
    Thank you in advance.
By the way, I am running Mountain Lion OX 10.8.4 on MacBook mid 2010

I have this exact problem. Installed Bootcamp on a networked iMac running Mountain lion and and can no longer log in to my Mac user account. Would love if any of the pro users on here can shed a bit of light.

  • Disabling User Account Control - CUBAC

Installing Cisco Unified Business Attendant Console.  Documentation says that on server 2003 / sever 2008 installations, disabling of the user account control is required.  It gives a procedure to do this on Server 2008.
The install I'm working on is on Server 2003.  I cannot find anything like this.  Googling on the subject has led me to believe that this is likely a documentation bug, as I can find no reference to Server 2003 having this feature.
Has anyone else run into this?  The documentation appears to have been written by someone who speaks english as a second language, and not thoroughly vetted for correctness.

    Hi Clifford,
This would just be for Windows server 2008
    CSCtc77367            Bug Details
CUBAC 3.1.1.5 docs need to say "disable User Account  Contol" in win2008w.
It appears UAC (user account Control) a new feature found in   Windows Server 2008 will block license files from being properly applied  in CUBAC 3.1.1.5.
The installation and requirement docs should  reflect that UAC needs to be disabled before installing CUBAC on Windows  Server 2008.
    Observations:
    Go to webadmin, licensing
When  you look at that page, you will not see any licensing info; no eval.
    It  says, no licensing info.
When we turned off UAC, the licensing  page showed the eval info for 5 days.
At which point we were able  to add the license

  • Disable user accounts on Unix, Linux resorces

    Hi Everyone
I try to understand disable user account action on Unix, Linux systems
In Resource reference doc. I see the next:
Linux does not natively support Waveset enable and disable actions.
Waveset simulates enabling and disabling accounts by changing the
user password. The changed password is exposed on enable actions,
but it is not exposed on disable actions.
As a result, enable and disable actions are processed as update actions.
Any before or after actions that have been configured to operate on
    updates will execute.
So what kind of commands waveset using for this action:
    passwd -l <Username>
    or just change password?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The out of the box adapter changes the user's Linux password on disable action.
To Implement locking of account by running "passwd -l username", you need to write a resource action and call it explicitly. Hope it helps

  • Disable user account on Active Directory??

I sync user account from iPlanet DS to Active Directory through Meta Directory. If I disable user account on iPlanet DS, can meta directory disable the user account on Active Directory Server?

AD has an attribute called userAccountControl. This attribute has a value of 512 when an AD account is active and 546 when it has been disabled. I flow a constructed attribute called userAccountControl with two rules, one for enable and one for disable. The selection criteria for the enable/disable rule is based upon a change in employee status. For example, (%mv.employeestatus%==T). Another way to do this would be a single attribute constructrion rule that calls an external script (written in Perl) that accounts for multiple conditions and then enables/disables the AD account accordingly. In the attribute flow rule, you flow the constructed attribute userAccountControl to mdsAdUserAccountControl (assuming an AD-Specific schema setting in the AD connector).

LV doesn't have any sort of Startup folder as we are a little concerned
about the security issues this brings about. You can specify VIs on the
command line for LV to open. And VIs can be set to run when opened.
Combining these features, you wind up using the system's Startup folder,
placing either a batch file or a shortcut to LV with the command line
options added to list out the VIs, and finally, set the VI properties
    so
that the VIs run when opened.

  • How do i merge my user accounts after migration assistant

    Hello,
How do I merge my user accounts after migration assistant from a time machine back up?

I wonder how to plan what account and rights to have where?
I had my old original account on my iMac, and then I "migrated" the data to a user account, in order to have some advantages with that setup. So everything worked approximately ok in this setup.
And yesterday, I tried migrating to a new Mac, and suddenly I get aware of the fact that the rights on these two earlier accounts were important.
And especially, after doing the migration to the new machine twice, until I got the Mail working, I am now totaly bewildered what solution to aim for? How to merge the two migrated admin accounts - keeping the original admin account is also important, since my file system har special rights for that one.
Could anyone give me more ideas about how to proceed? I think I have working Mail on one of the two migrated account (with 100 000 mails or so, it seems so...). The other account is the one I would like to have.
Also I think I want to use a normal user account, not an admin account for my daily use. And I have to see if things still work if I turn off the admin rights...
    Thankful for any advice!

  • Restoring user accounts after Leopard installation

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm not sure what to search for in these forums.
Prior to installing Leopard, I made a clone of my Tiger system on my external HD. I did an erase&install and used migration assistant to transfer my user account from Tiger and all the apps, documents, settings, etc, back to my computer. I thought I could just write over the new user account that was made when Leopard was installed, but I was prompted to change the name of the old account (as it was the same as my new user account on Leopard). So the old one is now "myname1" and the new one is "myname".
How do I remove the new "myname" account permanently and give full administrator privileges to the "myname1" account that I transferred from my external HD? Furthermore, once this is done, is it possible to rename "myname1" back to "myname"?
I tried doing this in the users panel, but all I could think of doing was removing admin privileges from the new "myname" Leopard account and giving them to the "myname1" account. What's the next step?
    Thank you!

    Shannon,
We can "restore" backed up users to a new installation very easily. First, you should create any accounts you will be restoring using the exact same usernames and user short names as the old accounts. Then, enable the "root" account and log in as root. Follow the instructions on manual restoration of user data that you will find in this kbase article.
Basically, you have the right idea, but you need to follow the instructions I have given to avoid any problems.
Note: The commands listed in this article (two of them) to run in Terminal when restoring data to a new installation apply to accounts created in 10.2 only. For restoring data to accounts created in 10.3 (Panther) and 10.4 (Tiger), use the following single command instead of the two separate ones listed in the article:
    chown -R username:username /Users/username
In the above command, you will replace all instances of "username" with your own short name. So, if your short name is "fred," for example, you will type the following exactly:
    chown -R fred:fred /Users/fred
If you have further questions, just ask.

    Hi,
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: FND, Message Name: SECURITY_APPL_USER_NOTAUTH. Tokens: USER = GUEST; (Could not lookup message because there is no database connection)The same error is reported in (Note: 357218.1 - Troubleshooting JDeveloper setup for Oracle Applications) -- Search for "1. No Suitable Driver" under "Know Issue" section, please see if it helps.
Btw, are you able to login to the database remotely? Please note that in 11.5.10 and above there are new security features added that restricts remote connections to the database for clients that are not registered on the system -- Please see (Note: 291897.1 - 11.5.10 New Features : Managed SQL*Net Access from Hosts) for details.

Kindly check in AOL and confirm that the message is changed. Also make sure the Jdeveloper code refers to the message code and the language for which the message text is set correctly. Thereafter delete the myclasses file and run the code again. Updated message should be shown.
    Regards
    Sumit
