Automating Creation of Universe

Hi All,
I want to know, as we create Universe in BObj from BEx Queries,is their any way of automating this process?
As in, if I have to create Universe for lets say 1000 of BEx Queries in BI.....
Creating Universe for each one them becomes time consuming task...
Can we automate this process,may be by using some JAVA APIs' or so...??
Has SAP provided such kinda feature covering above requirement....??

No Authorization to OLAP Cubes during the creation of universe connection

Hello friends we are not able to see the OLAP Cubes during the creation of universe connection using the Quality system and Application server "sapbmw01" client 100, system # 00. But we are able to set up the connection in our development system.
I will highly appreciate if you can let me know if we need some special role to access the OLAP Cubes during the creation of universe connection using the Q system.
Surprisingly we are using SAP_BW_ALL in Quality system still we are not able to access the infocubes. is there some thing missing in CMS IN BO to make that work.

Creation of Universe based on Hana OLAP connection

I have to create a universe in IDT 4.1 sp2 based on SAP HANA OLAP
connection ?
How can i access SAP HANA view which was created using OLAP connection in Business objects Explorer? It does not allow creating Universe on top of SAP HANA OLAP connection and gives an error
SAP Business Objects query and reporting applications can directly connect to OLAP SAP HANA connections. No universe is required, only a published OLAP SAP HANA connection.

Automating creation of HR master record for a user when a time entry role

Hi Abapers,
We need an automated solution for the creation of the infotype 105 based on the addition of the time personal data maintainer role into an SAP user Account Master Record(PA30).
Is it asking to add authorisation objects which would allow the user the time data, may be it is talking about 105 as user data is maintained in 105.
For this requirement what I am going to do.Plz help me for this and how we can give authorization setting for a particular user plz send me some document.

Function module for automating creation of organizational unit

Experts,
I am using SRM 4.0. In my system R/3 is acting as backend.
For creation of new organisational unit in SRM, which is not present in SRM but present in R/3 side i have to do the manual activity every time.
Is there any function module? Which can automate this process. If there is any function module which i can use please let me know. and how can i use that also please let me know.
By this automation every time through the program the new organization unit should created in SRM side.

Thanks for your input. But i am planning to send one file for HR records and then from that file through program i will upload the file. IF for some user the orgaisation unit will not be found then there itself it would create the OU through Function module(If Any)... I am doing like this as the HR system is some legacy system not the R/3 system.
So Please help me to find out function module.

Automating creation of invoices thorugh goods receipt

In case of third party scenario, as soon as the vendor dispatches the material to the customer, we need to raise an invoice on the customer. i think it is a sales order related invoice.
How can I automate the creation of sales order related invoice as soon as goods receipt is done in system ?

1. Create a output type for Goods Receipt for automatic invoice create purpose. Let this output get triggered upon saving the GR.
2. In output routine/exit call the function module 'RV_INVOICE_CREATE'" to create billing document automatically.
This is one way of automation. You can also look for GR user-exits.

Creation of Universe takes long time on BW Query

Hello Gurus,
I'm trying to create my universe on BW Query and it is taking long time to open. When I parse my objects also it atleast takes 20 minutes to parse one object. The same thing happens from WebIntelligence also. When I export this universe and create a Web Intelligence query and run the report it takes atleast 15 minutes to show the data though data is very less. Any ideas on how to improve this performance.

Thank you for your comments. Is it the SAP Integration Kit FP1.6 are you talking about? If yes, then I was able to install it on the server but I don't have SAP Integration kit installed in the client system. Why would I need to install SAP Integration on client as I'm using my server CMS Name to connect to server and once it has the necessary components isn't that good enough?
I tried creating a report and the performance did improve just by installing it on the server. But if I just pull any one object in WebI I receive the below error when answering one of the prompts

When I click on help the cause and action are as below

Automating creation of MobileMe Gallery from audio files in iTunes

I am wanting to create a MobileMe Gallery of a few songs in my iTunes library. The only option to do this is to wrap MP3 files in a .mov container as MobileMe gallery doesn't support audio files. I have worked out all the necessary steps to do this and would now like to automate the process. Here is the sequence I follow manually:
1. Select tracks in iTunes
2. Convert these Apple Lossless files to MP3
3. Add MP3 files to playlist
4. For each track in playlist:
5. Convert album image (.jpg) in album folder to max 640 width (so movies will play on iPhone)
6. Open resulting image in Quicktime Pro
7. Open Audio File in Quicktime Pro
8. Copy Image and Paste into Audio File in Quicktime Pro
9. Share File to Email using Quicktime Pro (this is the best way I've found of creating a small .mov file which just creates a container the same size as the image file and the audio file - presumably there's a way of exporting in the same way)
10. Drag .mov file created from Email created to MobileMe Gallery in iPhoto.
11. Repeat for each track
So I am looking for a way of automating this as much as possible, and wondering if applescript or automator would be the best way to go.
Ideally I would also like the script/automation to be able to create a .mov file slideshow of all images in the album folder (sometimes there is more than one image there), dividing the number of images by the length of the track (perhaps using the 'Add to selection and scale' feature in Quicktime Pro).
Finally one issue I am experiencing - converting the image file to max width 640 does allow the movie file to be played in the MobileMe Gallery from an iPhone, but the file that opens in the Movie Player on the iPhone doesn't show the image(s) in the .mov file, it just plays the audio. I wonder why this is happening?
Any advice on any of this would be much appreciated!

Automated creation of resources, subinventories and locations

hi folks,
we are on r12.1.3 and i have been tasked with setting up an automation for loading of new subinventories for new inventory orgs (we will have plenty of both) in the Inventory module, as well as setting up resource address and subinventories in the Service module.
my charter is to setup subinventories (usable and defective each for a field resource) for these new inventory orgs. setup resources (people, logical). finally, there are the subinventory addresses that need to be associated with resources.
i am sorry for the rather open-ended question here. i would like to know if there are any particular methods that are better than the other, any precedences or sequencing of events that one needs to keep in mind. is a UI / custom table necessary at all, or will a flat file suffice?
broadly, if there are suggestions on how to go about doing this in a logical and unobtrusive fashion while minimizing pitfalls, i would be thankful for those.

SAP SRM 7.0 CS - Automated Creation of Confirmations

Dear Experts,
in SRM 7.0 CS, i am facing the following question with respect to the creation of confirmations in SRM.
In our process, once the R/3 PO is created for the shopping cart, the requisitioner needs to create the confirmation in SRM. Thus, the GR is automatically done in R/3 and the three way match can happen at the time of Invoice Posting.
Is there any possibility, to automate the creation of confirmations in SRM, for items that are below a certain value?
The idea is, to spare the requisitioners from the manual creation of confirmations for low value items.

- is your idea usable for Classic Scenario that i have in place? I mean, the PO itself we can not steer/influence from SRM, because it is created in R/3. Or were you pointing to the usage of the BAdis with Extended Classic?
- Or is it possible to steer/change the SRM EBP Shopping Cart with the BAdis you have mentioned (within Classic Scenario), in order to influence whether the PO will be created with the GR flag or not in R/3?
- Or do you mean that i need to go on the R/3 side and use the BAdis there and thus steer/influence the PO at the time of its creation in R/3?

Problem with automatic creation of Universes on top of SAP BW - RKF

When I create Universes on top of SAP BW Querys everythings works fine, except for the Restricted Key Figures. The RKFs are created with the GUID code and not with the Description configured in the Query. I tried making the Key Figure Local and Global in the query without success. Does anyone know what's happening?
I'm using BO XI 3.1 SP2 with SAP BW 7.0.

I created universes based on a BW Query in the following situations:
    User specified username and password:   language = PT - Dimension's name OK, RKF are GUID
    User specified username and password:   language = EN - Dimension's name OK, RFK are GUID
    SSO: langue = PT or EN - Dimensions name are Ok and in English - RFK are GUID
I edited prefences of CMC to Portuguese. The same results.
The problem with the RKF still exists.
Is there some way resolve this problem?

Automated creation of call-tasks on campaign execution with attachment

Hi all,
I'm planning to create call-tasks to the responsible employees on campaign excecution.
Therefor I want to use the BAdI: Enhanced Creation of Business Transactions.
When creating these tasks I want to attacht the URL defined as attachment on the campaign to these new created tasks to inform the recipients of this call-task that they should take a loot at this URL.
Does anyone did somthing similar before and can give me some hints?
Until now I have not found anything in the changing parameters of this BAdI to forward these attachments.

Automating Creation of Folder-Tree

Here is what I want to do: I want to automate the creation of a folder-tree for video projects from a template structure while adding the project name to the names of all the folders.
Anything that accomplishes this will suffice. I got hung up when I couldn't use a variable as the input for the "Find/Replace Text" action.
Anyone really nice and interested can go to the small website I've made and get the files to build this thing for me!

What I had in mind was using the rename action on the copy of the template, although it won't go into subfolders. Since you haven't done anything yet, you might give my (tweaked) Copy Folder Structure action a try - it can be downloaded here. It can use variables, so an example workflow would be something like:
1) Ask for Text [Question: Project Name?, Default Answer: Blank Project]
2) Set Value of Variable [New Variable: Project Name]
3) New Folder [Name: the Project Name variable, Where: wherever]
4) Set Value of Variable [New Variable: Project Folder]
5) Get Specified Finder Items [the folder containing the project template] - ignore input
6) Copy Folder Structure [To: Project Folder, Add: the Project Name variable (and a separator, if desired) before each name]
7) Reveal Finder Items
Note that the editing field that accepts variables will trim leading and trailing whitespace characters - this is probably why a plain text field is used in the rename action. You can use other characters as a separator, though - the action UI gets ugly when trying to add various options for space separators, but there is a setting in the action package if you have to have them.

Interface QM-WM not automic creation of transport order with partial quant.

I create a 101 mov. for 5 units and the transfer requirement is created.
In QM during making usage decision I post partial of quantity into unrestricted stock for example 4 units. (movement type is 321), the system can't create transfer order automatically. But if I post all the quantity into unrestricted stock, the system works well .
Did I make a mistake creating the transfer requ. With the 101?
Why for the whole quantity it is working fine but not for partial?
