  • RME 4.3.1 not archiving configs on all devices

As the part of the screen shot shown, I have a total of 1312 devices in the RME. The number of total devices RME tried to collect inventory adds up to that. However, the numbers it tried to archive configuration do not (581 + 116 + 23 + 58 = 778 = 1312 - 534).
Why are so many devices missing there?
An RME job deploying a configuration template failed on a large number of devices, which led me to discover that many devices don't have archived configuration.
When I manually start a "Sync Archive" job from the Device Center on a device showing "Configuration Last Archived Time: No configuration archived yet", the job succeeds.
This is a serious issue. My immediate concern is to get configuration archived on all devices. What do I need to do to get RME to do that?

    Thanks for the response.
Yes, I have updated the device packages recently.
Here is device package information for one of the devices that did not get config archived:
    1.
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.516
    Cisco 3750 Stack
    CatGL3
    5.2
When I try a device package update now on RME, I get "All the available package(s) at source location are already installed."
When I try a device package update on all CiscoWorks modules, I only get one: DFMDeviceUpdates going from 17.0 to 18.0.

    Regards,

Without debugging, it's impossible to say exactly why things are failing.  However, based on the errors, I would double-check the DCR credentials for these devices and make absolutely sure you can connect to them using the DCR credentials from the LMS server.  You can confirm this by exporting the records for these devices from Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management.  If SSH should be the protocol that works, also try telneting to the device from the LMS server on TCP port 22.  You will get an SSH version string back.  Make sure it is one of 1.5, 1.99, or 2.0.
The timeout problem could be symptomatic of another bug.  Restarting ConfigMgmtServer (pdterm ConfigMgmtServer/pdexec ConfigMgmtServer) may help.  The fact that the job timeout resets to the default means there is a problem with your regdaemon.xml file.  If you post this file, I can fix it for you.

  • LMS 3.2 not archiving configuration (Suspect SSH)

I have 8 devices added to RME 4.3.1 (LMS 3.2), 3 devices are running telnet and their configs are backed up fine. However the other 5 devices are running SSH and when i do sync archive, I get this message..
CM0151 PRIMARY STARTUP Config fetch failed for test-switch Cause: TELNET: Failed to establish TELNET connection to 10.150.208.7 - Cause: connect timed out.
Failed to fetch the configuration. Check the dcmaservice.log for details.
TFTP: Failed to fetch config using TFTP.
Action: Check if protocol is supported by device and required device package is installed. Check device credentials. Increase timeout value, if required.
I have added telnet ssh and tftp to the list of fetch protocols. Any suggestions on how I can go about troubleshooting this?

Sorry Joseph, I should have mentioned I checked them both without
    finding much additional information.
This is the result of the device credentials check for the device in
    question.

I can install an SSH program on the LMS server and SSH to the device with

    running.
I have attached a sanitized version of the archive management debug for your

  • RME 4.3.1 not showing devices in the device select menu

Windows Server 2008 Standard LMS 3.2 with RME 4.3.1
When I try to select devices to check/compare device configurations in the RME Archive Mgmt menu (RME -> Archive Mgmt -> Compare Configs) no device shows up for me to select. I know the configurations are being archived because when I use the Device Troubleshooting diagnostic tool it shows me the latest configuration fetched for a device
Since it doesn’t show me devices to select from, if I try to search for a device in the device selection, the query ends but nothing is displayed. If I select advance search I get an error window with the following message:
    Problem with File /WEB-INF/screens/deviceselector/DeviceFilter.jsp!!!Exception in JSP: /WEB-INF/screens/deviceselector/DeviceFilter.jsp:77 74: if (classtype != null && classtype.length() > 0) 75: javaClassArray = devFilterUtil.getSubClasses(classtype, false); 76: else 77: javaClassArray = devFilterUtil.getClasses(); 78: 79: 80: String javaAttributeArray[][] = devFilterUtil.getAttributes(javaClassArray); Stacktrace
From other applications such as Ciscoview, Campus Manager, Common Services I can see all the devices configured on the system
This was working just a few weeks ago. There have been windows updates applied to this server lately, so I’m wondering if any of them is causing the errors.
    Thanks for any information.
    Jorge Jiles

The EssentialsDM daemon is in a waiting to initialize state, which points to CSCte49301 as a potential cause.
    Symptom:
The EssentialsDM daemon hangs in a Waiting to initialize state (as seen in the output of the pdshow command).  Additionally, one might see "Error connecting to JRM" in Resource Manager Essentials applications.
    Conditions:
This occurs on Windows servers after the patch for KB968930 is installed, and only if the Windows Remote Management service was started prior to starting CiscoWorks Daemon Manager.
    Workaround:
Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
    net stop crmdmgtd
    Delete the following two files:
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
    net start crmdmgtd
If that does not work, then the Windows Remote Management service must be stopped, and disabled.  Then, CiscoWorks Daemon Manager must be restarted.

  • LMS 3.0.1, RME 4.1.1 - Inventory Collection Status displays too many device

Running LMS 3.0.1 with RME 4.1.1 on a Windows box. On the Inventory Collection Status screen I see the following:
Inventory Collection Status No. of Devices
    Inventory Collected: 1246
    Inventory Never Collected: 0
    Inventory Recently Failed: 34
    Total 1246
The problem with this is that I only have 668 devices. Is this just a cosmetic issue?

Assuming you're not integrated with ACS, then yes.  If integrated with ACS, some of the devices may not be authorized.  You will need to check your ACS configuration to make sure all devices in LMS are known to ACS and that your user (and the System Identity User) is authorized to manage them.

    What could be wrong?

Checked that the device IOS was well above the version specified in the logs, so thought may be an issue with the device packages.
Checked the mdf version was 1.25 which came as default when we install LMS 3.2, so upgraded the mdf version to 1.45.
Still the issue didn't got solved, so upgraded the RME device packages and now the archive job was successful.

  • IPod nano works with USB 1.1 but not USB 2.0

Anyone using an iPod nano that works with USB 1.1 but not with USB 2.0? I am using Windows XP and when installing the iPod software from CD it recognizes the iPod and am able to transfer songs using iTunes but when installing SP1 or SP2 to enable USB 2.0 transfers, Windows XP only recognizes the iPod nano as a USB Mass Storage Device. This is the same with iPod Updater.

I have a similar problem with the following configuration:
    - Dell Dimension 4100 Desktop with 2 integrated USB 1.1 ports, Windows 2000 SP 4
    - PCI 6-Ports USB 2.0 Card ("Mentor" resp. www.bona.com.tw), Model USB20-PCI/6P
    What works well?
    - All my USB add-ons (1.1 and 2.0) on the internal 1.1 ports as well as on the USB2.0 PCI card
    - iPod Nano 4GB on internal 1.1 ports (external drive in windows 2000 as well as iPod in iTunes)
    - iPod Nano works as well as on the USB 2.0 card ONLY WHEN my old 4-port USB1.1 hub is connected between Nano and USB card
    What doesn't works?
My iPod Nano directly connected to the USB 2.0 card. Symptoms when connecting:
    - Windows is very slow, process "scvhost.exe" or "system.exe" using 99% of CPU for some minutes
    - iPod is recognised as external drive, but when I click on it, it is empty and copying files to it results in "I/O error"
    - iTunes doesn't recognise the iPod (of course, if even windows itself cannot read from it...)
I removed all USB drivers, reinstalled iTunes, iPod (by the way, I still don't understand what "iPod update" is good for, except for updating the iPod's firmware), deactivate the internal USB1.1 ports, no result.

On 3G we cannot send  Business emails from either our iPhones or Ipad and this also happens with some WiFi connections but not all.  Yet we can always send emails from our Hotmail Account using both 3G and WiFi.
We bought the iPhones and Ipad so that we could send emails while we are out of the Office, but we are not able to do this unless we can find a WiFi connection. Incoming emails are fine.  We use IMAP, for Business emails just incase this is relevant and I know that Hotmail is POP3.
Our technical IT knowledge is not great, so we look forward to your suggestions as to how to resolve this.

Contact whomever supports the email account and get the correct Outgoing email server settings from them.

The Oracle documentation has a good overview of the options available
Generating XML Data from the Database
Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.
You can also find some information in XML DB FAQ

Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?
