AutoScroll Tree View while searching a Tree Node

HI all,
I have two Tabs Tab1 contains JTree (with JScrollPane) , Tab 2 contains some data (which are available in tree node name in Tab 1) which is to be searched in tree in Tab1 & highlight node in red Color & its sub-nodes are in expanded state .
I Click some Button on my Tab2 & i search the node & Display Tab1 with selected Node
I have completed the above said functionality but, the node to be searched is far below (i.e. visible only if scrolled)
I need to Scroll it manually so see the highlighted Node , i want the scroller should be automatically adjusted!!
when i click Search button in Tab 2
Similar to functionality in JTree like - if you resize the window very small and keep the node (not in view) & try to type the node name JTree adjust the scroller & display the node.

Yes. rite i just found answer aftre posting the question
tree.scrollPathToVisible(path);

    Hi,
    when i search the hierarchical tree for a string then all the matching nodes come selected.Then when i click on any of the search result nodes it does not work and otherwise i have to click on a non selected node and then click on the desired node .
    For example i have created a tree for material used for manufacturing purpose.i want to display the related suppliers names in an adjacent grid by clicking on the node in the tree. how can i do that directly after getting the search node.??

    i think you have a form contain a block for tree and another block build on a database table and you want to execute query on the block when you select a node
    and you have a search item to seach for a node and want to go to the block record when you clock on search without go to the node and select
    try this in search button or when-validate-item of the search key
    -- create a pkg specifiaction called tree_pkg and define the follwing variable
    --node ftree.node;
    PROCEDURE select_node IS
         node ftree.node;
         htree item;
         node_label varchar2(3000);
    node_val varchar2(3000);
         state varchar2(3000);
    begin
         htree := find_item('BLOCK.TREE_ITEM');
         node := Ftree.Find_Tree_Node(htree, '');
    ftree.set_tree_selection(htree,node,ftree.select_on) ;
    WHILE NOT Ftree.ID_NULL(node) LOOP
         state := Ftree.Get_Tree_Node_Property(htree, node, Ftree.NODE_STATE);
    node_label := Ftree.Get_Tree_Node_Property(htree, node, Ftree.NODE_label);
    node_val := Ftree.Get_Tree_Node_Property(htree, node, Ftree.NODE_value);
    if upper(node_label) like <your search item> then
    ftree.set_tree_selection(htree,node,ftree.select_on) ;
    tree_pkg.node := node;
    exit;
    end if;
    node := Ftree.Find_Tree_Node(htree, '', ftree.find_NEXT,Ftree.NODE_LABEL,'', node);
    END LOOP;
    ---- now you have the node number that result from search
    node_val := Ftree.Get_Tree_Node_Property(htree, tree_pkg.node, Ftree.NODE_value);
    -- then use this value in execute query on the supplier block
    END;

  • A tree-view in HTML page with nodes generated with java script in run time is not visible in the UI Automation Tree. Need Help

    I have a HTML page with an IFrame. Inside the Iframe there is a table with a tree view
    <iframe>
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td>
    <treeview id="tv1"></treeview>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </iframe>
    In UIA, i am able to traverse till the tree view but not able to see it.
    I have used the TreeWalker.RawViewWalker Field to traverse the node from the desktop Automation.RootElement.
    I tried to use AutomationElement.FromPoint method to check whether i am able to get that element. Fortunately i was able to get the automation element.
    i tried to get the path to root element from the node element using the TreeWalker.RawViewWalker. I was able to get the parent path to the root element.
    But trying the reverse way like navigating from root element to tree node, was not getting the element for me.
    Please help me with suggestions or inputs to resolve this issue.

    Thanks Bernard,
    It works fine with JInitiator but not working with
    the JPI. For JPI what settings I need to do ??hi TKARIM and Bernard, i am having similar problem even with the Bernard's recommended setup. could you post the webutiljini.htm (i presume you are using config=test) ?
    i am actually using jinitiator 1.3.1.28 with Oracle HTTP Server of OAS 10gR2) calling Forms Server 6i (f60cgi). After setting up according to Bernard's recommended setup steps, the java console showed that it loaded the icon jar file when it could not read the form, but it skipped the loading of the icon jar file once it read and started the form. How do we specify in the form to pick up the icon from the jar file instead from a directory ? Or do we need to specify ? Any ideas ?

  • How-to synchronize edit forms for a single View Object tree node entrie

    Hi all,
    I created a tree from a single View Object,
    follow this [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/32-tree-table-from-single-vo-169174.pdf]
    then i want to create and synchronize edit forms for tree node entries,
    follow this [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/50-synchromize-form-treeselection-169192.pdf]
    but it not working when i click child node!!
    i found the latter tree from many View Object ,but the former tree from single View Object.
    what should i do?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    say the tree is built from ViewObject1. In the AM model, create a second View Object instance for this. Say ViewObject2. Create the form from ViewObject2 and the tree from ViewObject1. When creating the tree, use the"Target Data Source" option at the bottom to reference the iterator of ViewObject2. Then create a PartialTrigger on the paneFormLayout that holds the synch form. In the partial trigger property, reference the tree so that when the tree selection changes, the form is updated. Then create a PartialTrigger property on the tree and point it to the submit button of the form so you can show updated values in the tree.

  • How to display a search(query) on a report clicking on a tree node to open

    I need to know how can I do with that when I press on the link(on a tree node(leaf)), open on the other region in the same page a classic or interactive report with my results(passed by parameter, example: ID).
    One example are present on web site posted below:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:34:1599336964673301::NO:::
    I have tried this to composite my tree:
    select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0 when level = 1 then 1 else -1 end as status, level, "NAME" as title, null as icon, "ID" as value, null as tooltip, decode(level, 1, 'f?p=&APP_ID.:106:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||ID, 2,'f?p=&APP_ID.:106:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||(ID-1000), 3,'f?p=&APP_ID.:104:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||(ID-10000), 4,'f?p=&APP_ID.:105:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P106_MAQ_ID:'||(ID-100000)) as link from "#OWNER#"."V_TREE1" start with "PID" is null connect by prior "ID" = "PID" order siblings by "NAME"
    But the parameter passed dont do with the report change your view to the one row with ID passed. I need to obtain the same results showed on website posted above.
    I obtained success on action to redirect to other page with Form with Report to edit, but dont to show. And i want to show and the same page.
    below the code that i obtained to redirect:
    select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0 when level = 1 then 1 else -1 end as status, level, "NAME" as title, null as icon, "ID" as value, null as tooltip, decode(level, 1, 'f?p=&APP_ID.:102:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P102_MAQ_ID:'||ID, 2,'f?p=&APP_ID.:103:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P103_SRV_ID:'||(ID-1000), 3,'f?p=&APP_ID.:104:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P104_INS_ID:'||(ID-10000), 4,'f?p=&APP_ID.:105:'||:APP_SESSION||'::::P105_SIS_ID:'||(ID-100000)) as link from "#OWNER#"."V_TREE1" start with "PID" is null connect by prior "ID" = "PID" order siblings by "NAME"
    Thank you so much for your help.

    Muhammad,
    you can add a user parameter (p_count), which get the default value value 1 for example. Then add a field (with some source of type character like desname) for your footer with a format trigger like
    if :p_count=1 then
         srw.set_field_char(0,'Office Copy');
    elsif :p_count=2 then
         srw.set_field_char(0,'Shop Copy');
    else
         srw.set_field_char(0,'Account Dept Copy');
    end;
    return true;
    Or you build 3 boilerplates with format triggers like
    if :p_count=1 then return true; else return false; end if; for "Office Copy" .....
    In the After Report Trigger start the Report with same paramters using a higher value for p_count as parameter. If p_count=3, do nothing in the trigger.

  • JSF tree view GUI component and tree node actions

    Hi,
    I am new in using JSF and have a problem with my simple test application.
    The application contains a tree view control with one static tree node and a separate text area. Clicking on the tree node shall fill the text area with the string 'hello'. Seems to be very simple, but it doesn't work.
    What did I do?
    First of all I use the Sun Java Studio Creator 2.
    By double clicking on the tree node in the design window of the IDE a method called treeNode1_action() was created. I also added the String text to the session bean. treeNode1_Action() does not more than setting text='hello' ( getSessionBean().setText('hello'); ).
    The jsp file contains the line
    <ui:textArea binding="#{Page1.textArea}" id="textArea" style="height: 192px; left: 360px; top: 48px; position: absolute; width: 456px" text="#{SessionBean1.text}"/>, so the text of the text area is bound to the session property 'text'.
    Running the application and clicking on the tree node does nothing except reloading the page (no 'hello' inside the text area).
    Using the debugger showed me that the bean property text is set correctly to 'hello', also after reloading the page.
    What did I do wrong?
    What do I have to do to display 'hello' in the text area?
    I would be glad for some good advice to solve my problem and looking forward for an answer.
    Regards from germany
    Matthias

    want to remove the green patch from the jsf tree componentas u said ,, it is COMPONENET so this is a pre-made creator component that u cant chnage its attributes ,,
    instead u can extract Theam.jar file and change the icons ,, u i didnt do it before ,, but u may be find what u want there,
    hope this will help

    SAP has provided a lot of sample programs for developing tree structures. Just go to SE38, type BCALVTREE and hit F4. You'll get different sample programs with a range of operations on trees
    Go through the link,
    http://www.sapdevelopment.co.uk/reporting/alv/alvtree.htm
    Slowly check this code..you will get idea of how to develop tree structure.

    Assuming this is a WinForm application (it looks like it may not be), the following works pretty well:
    Option Strict On
    Option Explicit On
    Public Class Form1
    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, _
    ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _
    Handles MyBase.Load
    With TreeView1
    .CheckBoxes = True
    .ShowLines = True
    .ShowPlusMinus = True
    .ShowRootLines = True
    .ExpandAll()
    End With
    End Sub
    ' Updates all child tree nodes recursively.
    Private Sub CheckAllChildNodes(ByVal treeNode As TreeNode, ByVal nodeChecked As Boolean)
    Dim node As TreeNode
    For Each node In treeNode.Nodes
    node.Checked = nodeChecked
    If node.Nodes.Count > 0 Then
    ' If the current node has child nodes, call the CheckAllChildsNodes method recursively.
    Me.CheckAllChildNodes(node, nodeChecked)
    End If
    Next node
    End Sub
    ' NOTE This code can be added to the BeforeCheck event handler instead of the AfterCheck event.
    ' After a tree node's Checked property is changed, all its child nodes are updated to the same value.
    Private Sub node_AfterCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As TreeViewEventArgs) Handles TreeView1.AfterCheck
    ' The code only executes if the user caused the checked state to change.
    If e.Action <> TreeViewAction.Unknown Then
    If e.Node.Nodes.Count > 0 Then
    ' Calls the CheckAllChildNodes method, passing in the current
    ' Checked value of the TreeNode whose checked state changed.
    Me.CheckAllChildNodes(e.Node, e.Node.Checked)
    End If
    End If
    End Sub
    End Class
    The reference for that is this MSDN document.
    If you're looking for a true tri-state operation though, honestly you might want to look at some third-party controls.
    I hope that helps. :)

  • Apex Tree Node Search

    Hi guys,
    I want to search a tree node by using a textbox and a button item. I have implemented all required items and regions into my page. I think that, i can do this by using dynamic action. So I wrote a small script (jquery) to use in dynamic action in button click event. It gets the value of the textbox item and tries to use this value in tree's search method. By the way I specified a static ID for my tree region. (As you can see it is TREEID). But it doesn't work. Maybe usage of the method is different.
    So ,
    1 : The method usage is right?
    2 : Do you have any other idea about how can i do this search stuff.
    $("#TREEID").tree("search", document.getElementById("P300_SEARCH_TEXT").value);
    Database : Oracle11g
    Apex version : 4.1
    Thanks

    Mimi gave a very good start though. I have not worked with a tree before, but those tips guided me to the documentation, and i was able to take it from there. I can't see how the documentation would be lacking for you though, i find it to be clear. However, if you don't have some experience with javascript/jquery, this will not be straightforward.
    I made a new tree page, based this on EMP.
    When you want to do a search, you will first need the tree object, since the search function is a function of that object. I opened Firebug and ran this in my console:
    jQuery.tree.focused()This is in the docs. "This functions returns the currently focused tree instance."
    If you would have more trees, you could always use
    jQuery.tree.reference(needle)This functions returns a specific tree instance by an ID or contained node.
    Arguments:
    mixed needle
    This can be either the instance ID (the ID of the container node), an ID of any contained DOM element,
    an actual DOM element contained within the tree, or a jQuery extended DOM node container within the tree.>
    Now you have your tree object. Let's do a search. There are 2 employees with 'LL' in their names. I want to grab those.
    $.tree.focused().search("LL")This'll do "nothing". Why? Take a look at the documentation:
    Searches all nodes whose titles match a given string. If async is used a request is made to the server, the response should contain the comma-separated IDs of nodes that need to be opened so that all nodes that match the search string are visible.
    The search string is provided in the request. The function triggers the onsearch callback, with the nodes found as a parameter.
    Arguments:
    string needle
    The search string.
    string compare_function
    Optional argument. The jQuery function to be used for comparing titles to the string - defaults to "contains".>
    What is of importance here is this: The function triggers the onsearch callback
    +(oh, and please note that the search is looking for a match in the TITLE of the nodes!)+
    So, taking a look at onsearch:
    callback.onsearch Triggered after a search is performed and results are ready.
    Receives two parameters - a jQuery collection of nodes matching the search and a reference to the tree instance.
    *Default is: function(NODES, TREE_OBJ) { NODES.addClass("search");* }
    >
    So the default action of a search is something very simple: it assigns a class to the nodes which match the search criteria.
    If you would want more complex things to happen, you can simply provide another function to the tree object for the onsearch callback, and that is what Mimi meant with changing it. But you don't have to if the class-adding is sufficient.
    So, running from my firebug console:
    $(".search").css({"background-color":"red"})Grab all elements with class 'search', and give them a red background color. My nodes are now red for "ALLEN" and "MILLER".
    It also helps to use something like firebug, have knowledge of jquery, DOM and being able to inspect it, and read docs. I did not do anything special except applying some knowledge and taking my lead from those docs. Of course, Mimi mentioned this aswell, but the docs are at *\apex_images\libraries\jquery-jstree\0.9.9a2\documentation.html*
    Hope that helps you forward.

  • JTree - Sometimes tree node is not selected, while clicking it using mouse

    Hi,
    I'm sure that it is a very rare scenario.But ,sometimes i couldnt select a tree node on mouse click.It happens very rarely and simulating the behaviour is not possible.If anyone have gone thru this,plz repond.
    Thanks,

    did you try debug with a breakPoint on mouseListener->mouseClick event, and see if the selectionModel changes?

  • Useful Code of the Day:  Hideable Tree Nodes

    Someone posted about how they could selectively hide tree nodes, and I already had this AbstractTreeModel class (which does some things DefaultTreeModel does and some it doesn't) and a concrete subclass for TreeNode objects, so I was thinking how one could do hideable nodes. So I came up with this solution.
    There's 4 classes here:
    - AbstractTreeModel is the base for the concrete TreeNodeTreeModel
    - TreeNodeTreeModel extends AbstractTreeModel to support TreeNodes (DefautlMutableTreeNode, etc.)
    - HideableMutableTreeNode which is a DefautlMutableTreeNode subclass which has a visible field (with is/set methods, of course).
    - HideableTreeModel is the hideable model which is a subclass of TreeNodeTreeModel.
    A HideableMutableTreeNode can be set invisible directly, but the tree still needs to be notified to update. So it's best to use the methods in HideableTreeModel which set a node's visibility which notify the tree of changes accordingly. Methods are also provided to check a full path's visibility or ensure a node including all parent nodes are visible.
    A HideableTreeModel can take any TreeNode class, it doesn't have to be all HideableMutableTreeNodes, but only HideableMutableTreeNodes can be made invisible, of course. Any other TreeNode type would just be considered visible.
    Hiding nodes works basically by making the tree think there's less nodes then there are. And to do this, the node counts and child index search just works by looping thru the parent's children. This has potential perfomance drawbacks of course, since one has to loop thru the node's children to get nodes every time. This could be alleviated by not supporting non-hideable nodes changing the internal maintenance of HideableMutableTreeNode contents. But I'll leave that to whoever really needs it. It shouldn't be a problem if there are are a relatively small set of child nodes in any given parent.
    Also, note that the root node in the model cannot be made invisible, cuz it'd be redundant since JTree can be set to hide the root node.

    Hey
    I'm not trying to show anyone up here, but having just built a tree model for displaying an XML document in a tree, I thought this seemed like a neat exercise.
    I implemented this very differently from the @OP. I only have one class, HiddenNodeTreeModel. All the hidden node data is stored in the model itself in my class. The advantage of what I've created is it will work with any TreeModel. The disadvantage is that I think it's not going to be very scalable - the additional computing to get the number of child nodes and to adjust indexes is heavy. So if you need a scalable solution definitely don't use this.
    Anyway here you go

    You should try Franks generic selectionListener http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/25-generic-tree-selection-listener-169164.pdf. • Help with building a JTree using tree node and node renderers

    Hi,
    I am having a few problems with JTree's. basically I want to build JTree from a web spider. The webspide searches a website checking links and stores the current url that is being processed as a string in the variable msg. I wan to use this variable to build a JTree in a new class and then add it to my GUI. I have created a tree node class and a renderer node class, these classes are built fine. can someone point me in the direction for actually using these to build my tree in a seperate class and then displaying it in a GUI class?

    I beleive that this line of code is required:
    treeText.addObject(msgInfo);
    I have placed it where the action events start the spider, but i keep getting this error:
    cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : method addObject (java.lang.String)
    location: class javax.swing.JTextArea
    treeText.addObject(msgInfo);
    Also the jtree is not showing the window that I want it to and I am not too sure why. could you have a look to see why? i think it needs a fresh pair of eyes.
    Many thanks

  • How to hide a tree node from the GUI but still keep it in the tree model?

    Hi, All
    I used a JTree in my project in which I have a DefaultTreeModel to store all the tree structure and a JTree show it on the screen. But for some reason, I want to hide some of the nodes from the user, but I don't want to remove them from the tree model because later on I still need to use them.
    I searched on the web, some people suggested method to hide the root node, but that's not appliable to my project because I want to hide some non-root nodes; Some people also suggested to collapse the parent node when there are child to hide, it is not appliable to me either, because there still some other childnodes (sibling of the node to hide) I want to show.
    How can I hide some of the tree node from the user? Thanks for any information.
    Linda

    Here's an example using a derivation of DefaultTreeModel that shows (or does not show) two types of Sneech (appologies to the good Dr Zeus) by overiding two methods on the model.
    Now, there are many things wrong with this example (using instanceof, for example), but it's pretty tight and shows one way of doing what you want.
    Note: to make it useful, you''d have to change the implementation of setShowStarBelliedSneeches() to do something more sophisticated than simply firing a structure change event on the root node. You'd want to find all the star bellied sneech nodes and call fireTreeNodesRemoved(). That way the tree would stay expanded rather than collapse as it does now.
