AutoSuggest Menu On Input Focus?

I currently am using Spry's autosuggest widgets on various
text inputs. Its convenient in that I can give the user the
flexibility of typing whatever they want (the html text input) but
provide a list of suggestions for pre-existing categories (the
autosuggest widget). Its the best of an html selector and text
input put together.
However, I can't seem to get the autosuggest widget to
provide the drop down list of options as soon as the text input
gains focus on the page. Even when setting the minCharsType setting
to 0 I have to enter at least one character before I get the
autosuggest drop down.
Ideally what I'd like to happen is that as soon as a person
click into the text input with the mouse or tabs in from another
field the autosuggest presents the user with all possible
suggestions, updating per character as it currently does
afterwards.
How do I get the autosuggest widget to appear when its text
input gains focus?

  • Yosemite menu bar, input source Greek flag removed. How to get it back?

In the new OS X Yosemite, the menu bar input source country flag has been removed for some countries. The Greek flag got removed, while the disputed "Macedonian" flag is intact. What was the reasoning behind this? This is very offensive to Greek OS X users. Please put back the flag, or post a solution to this asap. It will not go unnoticed.

To convey your views to Apple, you need to use
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
Apple seems to have been gradually replacing flags with alphabetic symbols wherever possible.  Chinese and Japanese have been this way for quite a long time, and in Yosemite I count 30 keyboards (including Greek), nearly half the total, without the flag.  This is harder to do for Macedonian, which is one of many countries using the Cyrillic alphabet.
The easiest way to get the Greek flag back would be to download the app Ukelele, which includes copies of the Greek keyboard and the old flag icon, which you can install and use instead of Apple's.

I can also send the keyboard and flag to you if you want if you provide an email.

  • Menu bar clock and menu bar input menu disappear

Every time I reboot the menu bar clock and the menu bar input menu ("the flag") disappear. I have to re-tick the options in the System Preferences (Date & Time > Clock > Show the date and time; International > Input Menu > Show input menu in menu bar). However, after the next reboot they're gone again. What can I do to keep them there permanently?

You may need to try trashing the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist.
This can be found in HD/User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
    Just delete it and reboot.
Then try to set the new preferences.

  • JMenu doesn't dissapear when menu is losing focus

    Hello everyone!
I have a JMenu with several JMenuItems. The problem is that the JMenu doesn't dissapear when the menu is losing it's focus, for example when I click somewhere in the application window. I use the Windows look and feel for my application.
    Any ideas ? Thanks.

Add some try/catch block. My guess is that you bump in some NullPointerException.

  • HP w2408 no menu or inputs

I have a w2408 monitor that has been working but suddenly stopped.  The display seems to be functioning because when I turn it on I see "monitor going to sleep", but pressing the menu button no longer brings up the menu and none of the inputs are working.
Is this a repairable failure? By me or official HP service?
    Thanks

    Hello greggs,
I understand that you are getting a message that the monitor is going to sleep.
Remove the power cord from the monitor and hold down the power button for 15 sec.
    This will reset the monitor.
Do the same thing to your tower.
You may also want to open the computer up and reseat the memory and the graphics card.
Let me know how everything goes.

  • IPhoto text field input focus requires mouse hover

This is driving me crazy. To add text to a photo title or description, the mouse must not just click in the text box -- it must stay there! If the mouse drifts away after the click or you bump the mouse while typing, text input stops. This is seems peculiar and turns out to be quite frustrating. This reminds me of the old days when there was a debate over window focus and mouse movement.
Once you click into a text field, that field should stay active until you do something intentional to leave it (tab, enter, click, etc.).

I'm having the same problem as you with dealing with text. After some hours of trying all kinds of clicking around and holding down extra keys (the arrow keys help a bit), I'm getting nowhere. I was automatically upgraded to 9.1.1 when I got my new MacBookPro. I was previously on an older version of iPhoto. The description pane in the older version was bigger and much simpler to use (there is spare space on the iPhoto 9.1.1 screen layout, so why did Apple make its description panel so small?). Version 9.1.1 has more editing options, but I haven't yet found a way of using most of them because as you say, it's so difficult to keep selected text active for editing.
I have also tried drafting my descriptions inside Word first and then pasting them into iPhoto. They paste OK but the pasted text is black (as in Word) - but against the near-black of the iPhoto description pane, it's almost invisible! I thought I could then change the pasted text colour in iPhoto to white (on black) by using 'colours' from inside the description-editing options of iPhoto, but for the above reasons, I can't find any way of doing that.
There seems to be no direct help for these problems in iPhoto Help. Has anyone out there worked out what the select-and-edit routines should be? If not, I just hope Apple will solve these things in the next upgrade, or at the very least give us a bigger text pane.

  • A problem with autocomplete field and mouse used to change input focus

I have a question about a Text field "Autocomplete".
I uses this to enter Email addresses in my APEX application. It works fine only if you use "enter" or "tab" to move to the next field. Not if you use the mouse...
Example : I start to look for my Email address by typing my name : jean-j ... My full Email address is shown.
If I press enter or tab, the field is filled with me upper Email address : [email protected]
BUT if I click with the mouse on the next field, the field is filled with : [email protected] !!!
How can I avoid this behavior?

Should have added that the "automatic fill" is enabled.

  • Setting focus to a menu item in New Form Instance...

    Dear All,
Please let me know how to set focus to a menu item in New Form Instance trigger,
so that as the user opens the form control should be with the menu item and not with the First item of Data Block.

To my knowledge you cannot set input focus to a menu item.
Alternatively you could create a push button and put input focus there.

  • How to get Select menu to determine next set of (hidden) inputs?

    Operating System: Mac OSX 10.6
Software: Dreamweaver CS4, with local testing environment.
The website i am currently creating uses form based quotes, (for a printing business).
See here,      http://www.barringtonprint.com/perfect/quote-continuous.html      for the current webpage i am working on.
I want to use a select menu to determine how many 'parts' the user requires, and for it to then display the necessary text fields for them to fill in.
At the monent the form just has the maximun amount (7) already on the form, and just requires the user to leave the non-required fields empty.
However i would like the form to just have inputs for the first 'part' (Part 1), with a select menu that gives the user the option to select more than 1 'part' and then display how many more rows of text fields are needed depending on the outcome of the select menu.
I presume i will need to use javascript to do this but i am unsure on how to proceed.
NOTE: these are old forms that i have inherited and do use tables, im aware this is not the best way to proceed, however im sticking with them for now.
Any help will be much appreciated, as this is driving me nuts.
    Andrew Barrington

I'm sure there are cleaner ways of doing this, but I already had this put together from another project.  Hopefully it will get you started.

  • I need more INPUT (not MENU) languages in my E90!

Though E90 Communicator is awesome in majority of functions, usability and comparatively perfect in production quality, it lacks some features that I as business-user definitely need.
The most disappointing issue for me is the language issue. While the "normal" phones have 6 to 8 languages pro firmware/product code, the E90 has only 3!!! (Maybe 4 in APAC region but i do not care.)
I'll try to explain shortly. As a businessman who lives in Germany and is a native Russian-speaker, I have a LOT of partners/clients/friends who do prefer to have a communication profile with me in Russian. I have almost the same amount of people with whom I need to communicate in German or French. The tragic truth is that I cannot approach this with the actual firmware situation on E90.
If I would buy my Nokia E90 in Russia, I would get the predefined languages of English, Russian and Ukrainian. That is nice, but in this case I cannot write in German as it should be written, saying with Ö, Ä, Ü, ß and so on. I also could not use some of the French special characters. If I would use E90 only as a SMS machine, it might be OK. But I use it more likely as a travel PC replacement the device pretend to be, so I use e-mail and document editing, where the lack of those characters are intolerable.
Besides all, I live in Germany and am a client of German service provider, so why should I probably buy the device outside of Germany? So think I and so I doing, saying I renewed my service contract and bought the E90.
In German firmware I got another three (!!!) languages: German, English and Turkish. Wonderful. I may speak out about the pure discrimination from the Nokia side: in Germany we have the same amount of Russian speakers as Turkish fellow ones, both about 8,000,000 persons each. ;-) So why Turkish and not Russian, Italian or French? Every of those "communities" has equal rights, am I right?! Hei, Nokia! Do you hear my voice?!
Is it really so hard to understand, that an ULTIMATE BUSINESS SOLUTION as E90 definitely would be preferred by the people, who really use it - really intensive - as a communication device?! Is it really hard to understand, that thousands of them would get e-mails and documents while on the road that definitely need to be urgent answered some other language than 3 preinstalled?! Should I change the firmware of my phone every time I need to answer e-mail in French or edit the financial contract for my Russian partner?!
Ridiculous and disappointing - what else should I say?! Especially because I know, that the situation as easy to fix from the Nokia side as a single mouse click.
I am sure there are people reading and writing to this Forum who needs for example Chinese Mandarin and German, or Hindi and Farsi, or Arabic and Spanish simultaniously. There is no way to understand why it is impossible to choose the INPUT languages - I do NOT speak about the MENU languages and never pretend to.
So, because this Forum is Nokia's piece of land and Nokia has kindly allowed us to cry out here what I do really appreciate, I want definitely get the answer to following questions:
    1) Is it possible to add some INPUT (once again - NOT menu, just INPUT) languages to E90 firmware?
    2) If yes, when?
    3) If not, what is the reason? The reason - please, no "technical excuses", because I am not that stupid, OK? ;-)
We are living in such a damn globalized world, aren't we? So let's be really globalized and let's help us ourselves to get out the most from this.
    Thanks to all for listening.

Since Windows 98 is absolutely not a problem to add ANY input language in ANY localized version of the OS. I do know that Symbian OS has at least the same flexibility options.
Once again: I do not pretend to have any other MENU language - I simply do not need it. But the possibility to choose more INPUT language is simply and quickly to add, that is what I am asking for.
Maybe your statistic research is right, I do not want to argue with you. More than that, this is exactly I expected as an excuse option: "Marginal request". But no, it is not. The device would probably have higher customer interest when the free input would be represented.
Your advice to use laptop instead of E90 is highly appreciated, but it is not unique enough to be accepted "as is". ;-) The idea of E90 as well as previous communicators was to give the customer an option to leave her/his laptop at home and make a 1 or 2 day business trip as lite as possible in every meaning of the word "lite". I have 2 laptops already, 1 Panasonic for traveling and IBM Z61p Workstation as a desktop replacement. I should say that Panasonic, while being one of the best travel-oriented devices on the market, with its almost 2 Kilo travel weight and about 1 minute power-up/power-down time is completely insufficient as a communicator replacement. In addition to it you need a businesscard-scanner and a digicam, you are constantly out of power and so on. It is or will be the same story with UMPC. The only option until now was HTC/Qtek 9000, the most powerful and well-equipped device on the market. But it is completely useless as a phone and its camera is a disaster, so I switched to E90 because of its awesome usability as a phone, a digicam and as a communicator simultaneously just because I HATE to carry on 12 hours a day here and there a 5 Kilo bag with laptop, phone, camera, cables, batteries and other damned stuff around. I am just SICK and TIRED of this and I dreamed about the device that can make free from all that - for YEARS!!!
I remember my conversation with Nokia people at its CeBIT Stand in late 1990-es - the concept was already here, but the materialization of my dreams took Nokia R&D almost a decade. And now, when it is already in my hands, it lacks such a damn little thing to be as perfect as possible! ;-)
I am not that crazy - "perfect" does not mean really perfect. Of course there are and there would be minor and major bugs with later fixes and improvements. Because of the possibility of fixes and improvements I insist on one of the most critical for me. I understand as well, that it needs neither additional research nor hardware changes. All you need to to do is a little software module to be added and/or replaced. The Occam Razor Rule is still in my mind. ;-)

  • Select by focus not showing up in menu

This is weird. I am running Photoshop CC 2014 and my image is an rgb 8 bit jpg and for the life of me I can't figure out why under the selection menu, the new focus area menu is absent. Supposed to be right under color range and it's just not there, not even grayed out. AmI missing something? Cloud says my Pshop is current.

Launch CC 2014 instead of the previous version CC.

  • How to set focus on invisible input field?

    Hi Guys,
I need an invisible input field and have to set an input focus on it. My problem is that if I set input field’s property visible=blank, I get my invisible field <b>BUT</b> the function call doesn’t work (setInput.requestFocus()).
I suppose that I can’t set a focus if an input field is invisible.
Does somebody know how can I solve my problem? Is there a possibility to do this input field invisible with java script? If yes, how does it work in Web Dynpro?
    Thanks
    Marita

    Hi
Setting a focus on invisible input field will not work even if you follow the method what sowjanya has suggested. The method wdThis.wdGetAPI().requestFocus() will not work for read-only and disabled fields.
By the way why do you want to set the focus on a invisible input field. If you can tell us the requirement maybe we could think of an alternate solution. But i guess for the current scenario setting focus on invisible input field does not work.

  • ABAP workbench shortcut key :: T-code input

Does anyone know the shortcut key for Transaction code input field?
I mean something like "Alt+D" for IE browser.

    hi David,
please check the following inf. this could be helpful for the question u have asked.
You can use an input field to enter and edit text. It consists of a field name and the field data.
    Use
When the input field has the focus [External], you can enter text and numerical data using the keyboard.
    Access
Sequential element navigation works for input fields, which means you can move the focus [External] forwards to an input field using [Tab] or backwards using [Shift]+[Tab]. You may need to press [F2] to start the text editing process. If an underlying function exists, you can start it by pressing [F2] – this corresponds to a double click with the left mouse button.
    Help Functions
When the input field has the focus [External], you can call up the help documentation for this field by choosing [F1]. If the input field has a tool tip, you can call it up by choosing [Ctrl][q]. You can open the context menu of the focused input field by choosing the [ContextMenu] key or [Shift][F10]. In more complex applications, the F4 help opens up a dialog box and provides selection options. If there is an F4 help, this is indicated by a small icon to the right
Keyboard Usage for Interface Elements in SAP GUI for Windows NetWeaver'04 13
    SAP Online Help 10.07.2006
of the input field, which appears as soon as the focus moves to the field. To call up a history list and choose one of your previous entries, choose [Backspace] when the text cursor is at the first position in the field.
The system only displays tool tips and history lists if the settings under Options allow this. To call up the options dialog box, choose [Alt]+[F12] and the appropriate character key.
    Internal Navigation
You can move the text cursor between characters using the right and left arrow keys within the input fields. Use [Ctrl][Left] or [Ctrl][Right] to go to the next or previous word. Use the keys [Home] and [End] to position the cursor before the first or after the last word or character in the field.
    Select
To select characters in an input field, you can use [Shift] with the right and left arrow keys. To select the word before or after the text cursor, choose [Ctrl]+[Shift] with the left or right arrow key.
    Manipulation
You can use the clipboard to copy or cut selected characters. Choose [Ctrl][c] or [Ctrl][x] to do this. You can paste them elsewhere by choosing [Ctrl][v]. You can undo your last action by pressing [Ctrl][z]. When editing text, you can use the [Delete] key to delete the character to the right of the cursor and the [Backspace] key to delete the character to the left of the cursor.
When entering data, you can toggle between the insert mode and the overwrite mode by pressing the [Insert] key. When you are in the insert mode, any data to the right of the cursor moves to the right when you type. The insert mode is the default mode in the standard system. In the overwrite mode you overtype any data to the right of the cursor.
    Exit
To finish editing, choose [Tab] or [Enter] to leave the input field and accept the changes made. To finish editing and undo the changes made, choose [Escape].
    reward with points if helpful.
