Aux-out onboard X-Fi Elite

Hello,
I installed the X-Fi Elite Pro in my Media Center Pc. Normally the on board sound card provides an aux/line-out to my Euro Scart plug. This plus sends video and audio to my television. (Something very common in Europe) Since I have the X-Fi installed I am trying to get an aux/line-out signal to my Euro Scart plug. All I see on the X-Fi card is an Aux-In (This is the same 4 wire plug). Is there a way to get stereo audio out on this aux-in connector? Or is it possible with the AD_EXT connector? Perhaps I am able to make my own connector? All information is welcome.
Thanks,
Marco

  • Virtualization options greyed out in bios hp elite desktop 8300

    Hello,
I've a HP 8300 Elite convertible microtower with Intel core i7-3770
In the bios under system security I'm unable to enable intel vt-x and intel vt-d.
    P/N: C3B59ESR#ABV
I've tried upgrading to newest bios v2.90 but no sucess, also checked every other bios option, did a full CMOS reset.. but no luck on that either.
    Please advise!
Below a photo of the options as shown in the bios. As you can see I only can enable/disable Data Excecution Prevention.
    This question was solved.

ok, problem solved. Some how the TPM module was stuck in a undefined state. After forcing an enable using the bios configuration utility, and an initialize of the TPM Module from windows (tpm.msc) I needed to reboot and the bios prompted me with the question if I wanted to activate the TPM module. I accepted this and when entering the bios en looking at the system security settings was able to disable Trusted Execution Technology and this gave me the option to enable/disable the virtualization options! Took me 5 hours to get the thing working.

  • TV Tuner Audio failure followed by color distortion (a Total Mess)

    Hi guys
    so this is my story
I've this MSI FX 5200 VT128 Personal Cinema for about 8 months and it's been working fine . After upgrading my Mother Board to GA-8IK100(v2.0) and my CPU to Intel P4 3.0 GHz HT  again the CARD WAS WORKING FINE ( the problem i'll explain has nothing to do with system config, coz it's been working).
One day i came up with the idea, HOW NICE WOULD IT BE IF I COULD USE THE AUX-AUDIO-IN CONNECTOR OF THIS CARD TO CONNECT IT TO AUX-OUT OF MY OnBOARD SOUNDCARD , although i couldn't find any instructions about this connector (White 4-pined coonector on this card) , i couraged to plug a proper cable between two(i'm an electronics Engineering Student    :hypecrite: and i couldn't see any NO NO in it), and the problem began here!
First of all, i couldn't hear any thing in this new config, so i removed the cable and used the LINE-IN cable as i did before, but no dice ! No sound !
I though something has went wrong onboard.
When i tried to do the same thing again (AUX theory!) to make sure it was not working ( after a second boot ), and it didn't as expected, a new problem came up!
After changing things back to noram,  While having no Audio the pictures i saw was great! No RED color , and a DRAMATIC distortion in what i can say was color!
Although think i've damaged the tuner badly ( electric shocks after restarts) ,
I want to know if there is any way around to bring this bad boy back to work?
    Can anyone help me?
(I can perfome Technical Fixings (replacing any component , or circuits if possible) )
Thankx for your patience after all(if u ever happen to get to this line )

So the right way is that:
check first visual for problems like burned cap resistors and then measured all diode around output connection somethimes for ESD protection company used shotky diode which are not work well with big current like your case.
Then if this is the reason remove all of them and asembly new
if the problems are coming from CPU on the card
forgot this card and bay new one !!!!
I hope this information you will got also from thechnical support staff :-)
So sorry this card like a bad hardware design release .................
a lot of bugs inside software and now hardware problems ....    ????
Any way try to find what are the electrical problems ..

  • I have an ipod mini....and I have an Ipod jack in my 2007 Honda Accord

My Ipod mini will not play in my car but my son's Ipod touch does. The handbook in the car says I need a Ipod later then generation 3 or 4 I cannot remember is there anyway to fix or update to newer software??

    Hi,
Unfortunately, the iPod Mini was from 2004, and only had 2 Generations. If you have an Aux out, then I'd use that, as that will work. The earliest iPod that most cars support is the 5th Gen Video.

  • Control Panel shows only 4GB of RAM but product specs say I should have 8GB

My HP Pavilion Elite HPE-250f desktop is supposed to have 8GB of RAM factory installed, but the control panel only shows 4GB. When I run diagnostics with the Support Assistant software it says everything is working fine but also shows only 4GB of RAM. I've had the computer for several months now and the warranty recently expired. In the past I noticed it said 4GB and thought I must have purchased a computer with only 4GB, but it always seemed odd to me. I looked up the specs online and it says the HPE-250f has 8GB, and it also says 8GB on the box it came in. I have not made any modifications to the computer, and have never opened the cabinet. I am hesitant to open the cabinet, but don't feel I should have to pay a lot of money to figure this out.

Let’s take a look on the detail spec., 384GB SSD Super RAID, Intel Core i7 4800MQ @ 2.7GHz, top level GTX880M 8GB GDDR5 graphics, 32GB RAM. It’s all top level and could use for 3 more years of ultra-quality games!
When first time to use MSI gaming notebooks, you will feel amazing about the SteelSeries keyboard is really good typing feeling and solid based. It comes with multi-color backlit and move the windows key to right side, that really professional design as a gaming notebook keyboard, and the only one with real gaming design.
Take a look in the SteelSeries Engine, the exclusive gaming software only for MSI gaming notebooks. This macro keys software built in Keypress macro, Text macro, 1 key launch program and Disable key function, besides F1~F12, all other keys could be used for macros setup, and 4 layers of keyboards o setup 4 sets of macros with 4 sets of different backlit combinations, so this is really a great software for smarter and stylish gaming experience.
With CPU-Z tool to check, the upgraded Intel Core i7 4800MQ @ 2.7GHz, TDP 47W, 4 Cores 8 Threads is really great performance, CPU Boost could up to 3.5~3.7GHz.
Because of Core i7 4800MQ and GTX880M, the 3D benchmarks comes with breakthrough scores than ever on the notebook platform, 3D Mark Fire Strike: P5351 pts.
The GT60 Dominator Pro on 3D Mark 11 gains P8461 pts, it’s whole new level of the gaming notebooks, and It’s over 15% faster than GTX780M!
The 3D Mark Vantage boost up to P33115 scores, it’s 14% faster than GTX780M!
Then we check on other software of DirectX11 3D performance, the Heaven Benchmark is world’s 1st software tool to test DirectX11 effects, this time we use Heaven Benchmark version 3.0 to test.
Set the Tessellation on normal to enable DirectX11 effects and run Benchmark, the Full HD resolution could get 78.2 FPS(Frames Per Second) high score result.
Since this GT60 is 3K IPS panel edition, of course we have to try 3K resolution, you could see that the result block is smaller at 2880x1620 resolution, the result is 42.7 FPS with same setup, so we could say that 3K resolution will reduce over 45% of the FPS rate in this test, but GTX880M is too powerful, so still over 40FPS, and most games we need to get over 30 FPS to play and feel smoother, at least 20 FPS to play a game, if lower than 20 FPS, that will makes people feel lag obviously and feel dizzy easily.
Since we tried some benchmark, of course we have to try at least a famous game to the real world experience. Battlefield 4, the biggest FPS game title since end of 2013, is one of the heaviest loading games on PC platform.
First we made Battlefield 4 detail at 1920x1080 with Ultra Graphics Quality setup.
The gaming frames is 46 FPS, really smooth and around 20% faster than GTX780M.
Once we tune up the resolution to 2880x1620, the FPS drops a lot because the Ultra mode also set 4xMSAA (Anti-Aliasing), that will impact the performance a lot in higher resolution, also make graphics memory demand around 3GB~4GB, seems the 8GB GDDR5 with GTX880M is prepared for upcoming games with such as 3K or even higher resolutions!
We could see it’s about 24~28 FPS under 3K resolution with Ultra Graphics Quality, most time it will reduce over 40% FPS rate of the gaming performance.
Seems to set the Battlefield 4 with “High” graphics quality on 2880x1620 resolution is more suitable to play the game smoother in every theme.
It’s about 42 FPS, close to the 1920x1080 Ultra graphics quality. So if we want to play heavy loading games at 2880x1620 resolution, set to High graphics quality setup is a good option for 3K gaming!
After these 3D and gaming tests, let’s take a look on the temperature of the cooling system. The room temperature is 25 degree C, the temperature of fan out part is 71.2 degree C, it’s not a surprise because of GTX880M and Core i7 4800MQ, even it’s a bit lower than most gaming notebooks with this 2 combinations. The palm rest and keyboard side is 30.6 degree C, it’s really cool for users to hands on.
After the fabulous experience of great 3D performance, let’s take a look on the benefits of “Super RAID 2”, normal 2.5” HDD is about 80~100MB/s, single SSD is about 400~550MB/s, BUT, GT60 Dominator Pro boost over 1536MB/s and average is 1477MB/s, that’s 15x faster than single HDD, almost 3x faster than single SSD.
If we check on the AS SSD Benchmark tests, you could see more detail of the storage access performance is amazing, the Sequential read is 1116.76MB/s, write is 786.79MB/s. 4K-64Thrd read is 665.09MB/s, write is 461.18MB/s, it’s ultra fast!
The GT60 Dominator Pro 3K IPS edition comes with Killer Doubleshot LAN and WiFi, it provides faster response time of gaming experience, when you at different LAN/WiFi environment, Killer software will ask you to make an internet speed test, this will fine tune your LAN/WiFi for smoother and faster online experience.
MSI also got a new software tool called “Dragon Gaming Center”, this tool is also good for hardware monitor and utility launch tool. Also could show the status of Hybrid Power enable or disable.
The ultimate weapon for enthusiast gamers:
The GT60 2PE Dominator Pro 3K IPS version is extremely powerful, it comes with most of the features that a great gaming notebook could have, 3K IPS panel is really great effect of vision quality, SteelSeries keyboard with SSE is amazing for gamers to play their games smarter, Sound By Dybaudio present really good detail sound quality, Killer Doubleshot is faster for online gaming, of course the GTX880M is awesome for gamer to play Full HD even 3K resolution games, the backlit of Dragon logo and keyboard is really beautiful.
    Conclusion:
The overall score I will give this GT60 2PE Dominator Pro 3K IPS edition with Super Pack is 95 out of 100, this is really great machine for any hard core gaming or power user usage, I would recommend any one to must-have this notebook if it’s affordable for you!!

Ok either you work for MSI or you changed the settings in 3dmark11. I only scored around 5K with my GT60 2PE 3k. Any idea why I'm scoring 3k below you? Laptop was plugged in btw. Also how can you enter bios settings with this laptop? I suspect that maybe the hybrid gpu thing is affecting my score, and the Pc is probably not fully utilizing the GTX 880M, maybe in bios I can disable the integrated CPU's video card??? Please let me know. Thanks.

then you can try a USB cable, however yamaha is not particularly Mac Friendly (check the owner's manual, it may mention if it's Mac COmpatible, or if it perhaps needs a driver)

to use the Aux-OUT with a MBA you'd need an Audio Interface (the Air has not audio inputs):

  • Fast hard disk for audio recording?!

    Hi!
Can anyone recomend an external harddisk that works well with Logic (I have an apogee ensemble firewire interface), that runs fast and does not sound to much? I am currently running with a macbook, about one year old.
    Best,

As you can see, everyone recommends Glyph. If you're wanting something better than your average POS from the megastore, but don't have the kind of cash Glyph requires, check out the OWC Mercury Elite Pro from OWC (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/1394/USB/EliteAL/). They've got metal casings, good drives, and are built really well. You can also buy their cases as external enclosures and put a drive of your choosing inside.
They're not the cheapest or the most expensive, but reliable, well built, fast and reasonably affordable.
    Good Luck!

  • Playing Zen through car stereo

    Hi people
Just wondering, is it possible to play the ZEN Vision:M through a JVC KD-LHX552 car stereo?
I assume I would need an adaptor from the stereo... but would this go directly into the headphone socket on the Zen, or would it fit into the Zen adaptor (the white block used to transfer songs in the first place). I have no idea about this at all, so any help would be greatly appreciated..
    Cheers
    =]

I was able to play my Zen through the car stereo using an audio cable. I plugged it into the headphone jack of the player and the "Aux Out" jack on the car stereo. You should be able to do it as long as your stereo has an output jack. Hope this helps.

  • Keyboard - GB

I have a Yamaha keyboard and wanted to record some tunes in Garage Band. I have GB set to line-in, and in the system prefs too. I have the auxillary out plugged into the line-in. In the system prefs, you can see the bar jump when I hit a note so its recognizing it, but I don't hear any sound. I hear/see nothing in GB either.
Now I was thinking maybe AUX Out was the wrong output maybe but the only other thing on the keyboard is a mini-out plug and its a weird shaped 5 prong thing.
Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?
Also, somewhat on topic, I have a non-powered mic I wanted to use and someone told me I needed an amp or something to be able to use GB or something to record with. I have no idea what that means. What kind of mic do I need?
    Thanks

In regards to recording your keyboard, make sure the line out is making sound out of the keyboard. Try recording from the headphone jack. Once you are sure that you have a live output on the keyboard then plug that into the line in on your compuer and set GarageBand's recording input in GarageBand preferences to line in, create a new real instrument track, basic track, no effects and press record. If that doesn't work check your cable. Make sure the volume is up on the keyboard if you record from the headphone port. For your mic you will need some type of audio interface. The wierd 5 pin cable sounds like a midi din plug that is used to transfer performance data (you could use it to control GarageBand's instruments but not transfer sound) Also make sure the monitor is on in the track info for the record track, check the details and verify the audio input is correct and the monitor is on, slider to the right.

  • Output levels into Guitar Amp

OK, here is what I want to do. My girlfriend sings gospel music for retirement centers, ladies groups, etc... She has a acoustic guitar amp with two inputs, she plugs her microphone into one and her iPod into the other.
We have both types of connectors
    1. Line out on bottom --> adapter to RCA --> RCA to 1/4 Phono
    2. Earphone out --> adapter to 1/4 Phono
Both have problems with either usability or volume or quality.
#1, had tremendous volume and the amp volume for that channel has to be set at 1/2 of 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. The level cannot be adjusted from the iPod, which would be nice. So... we got connector #2
#2 has very very low volume and has to be buried to 10 on the amp and the iPod. It sounds fuzzy and lacks dynamic range.
Have tested with a brand new 80 Gig iPod classic and an old 2nd gen nano. Same results.
Why is the volume output so much different?
What would be the best way to hook this up?
I can run it through my little sound board, but that defeats the simplicity that my girlfriend wanted to be able to carry her little amp, mic, and iPod, set up by herself, and sing on a moments notice.
    Thanks,
    Kirk

Well, that's a bit unusual -- the dock connection level is usually dissed as being way too low ("Great sound quality compared to the headphone output, but the level is so soft I've got to turn my amp all the way up" kind of thing). From your description, it sounds like maybe you're trying to connect the iPod to a Mic input on the guitar amp. If you are definitely hitting a Line input on the amp, there's something wrong with that amp.
When you use the same connection hardware and put the iPod into a Line input on your board, do you get the same type of overload? i.e. you have to trim the input level down to almost nothing to avoid clipping. I'm guessing the answer is no. Conversely, when you connect some other piece of line-level gear to the same input on the guitar amp (a cassette deck, an electric piano, aux out from a home stereo) do you get the overload condition? I'm guessing the answer is yes. If so, then you're hitting a Mic or Instrument input on the guitar amp, and you need to knock the iPod's level way down. Easiest way to do that is with a "direct box" (AKA a "DI box") -- it's a small transformer that can output line or mic level; check out the Whirlwind Imp (among many others). As a bonus, a direct box will help protect the iPod from any nasty electrical tantrums the amp might throw.
If you're using a "Y" cable to combine the iPod's stereo signal to mono, you should stop doing that "Y" cables are only for splitting signals, never combining. There's lottsa technical reasons for this...the short version is that you risk damaging the iPod, along with getting crapy sound. If a "Y" seems like your only option, have someone make you a Y with 10Kohm resistors wired into the input legs; any good sound shop can whip one up for you. (Ideally, a tiny little 2- or 4-channel mixer would be her friend here...plenty of used stuff around for $20 or less.)

  • V2.18.0004 driver..DD/DTS input decode option is missing, why is that? (Vista 64bit + X-FI Eli

EDIT: Mistery is solved....read second post to see answer!
Read about the added hardware DD/DTS decoding in Vista with latest driver v2.8.0004!
But I seem to be missing the SPDIF option in the audio consol. Only the "default" and "passthrough" option are available. It doesn't say in the driver description that it's only for 32bit windows(like the DVD-Audio option)so I guess something else most be wrong.
I used the Creative auto opdate tool twice to update. First time, it found the new drivers plus, I think, an update to the Creative mediaplayer. After discovering the missing DD/DTS decode option, I tried for fun, running it'sagain. And this time, it found like 3/4 more updates, like a newer audio consol version...yeah, perhaps it worked now, I thought! But no, unfortunately that was not it! :-(
I don't have any DD/DTS receiver nearby my PC, so I can't test if at least the passthrough option works, but I'm considering if a re-install of all Creative software is the way to go, but would like to hear from others first.....parhaps there's an easier way and again, I don't really now if others got it to work under Vista 64 and on a Elite edition X-FI....
Haven't noticed anything else, didn't notice any errors during updating or after, so I'm merely just curious to know if the "new" Vista decode option is accesible to me
    Anyone with any experience/input :-)
    Cheers!

Ok, nevermind, I have found out why!
My Elite Pro card, to my BIG surprise, apparently is not supported according to this list http://www.soundblaster.com/X-FiList/
This was a BIG BIG surprise to me, as I wasn't aware of Creative removing features in newer revisions of the model.
Bought a new Elite Pro about half a year ago or so(after having used an former Elite Pro card for little over 2 years) because the other card had it's analog pre-outs failing.
Migrating to Vista I didn't think of the feature missing, as I thought it to only be a software problem due to Vista's new hardware restrictions....well, learning again.
However, I now can't help but feeling dissapointed and a little let down by this move!

    you can

  • External hard drive for video edition

Please, anybody can recomend me an external hard disk for video edition in high definition with final cut pro x?
I have an imac with thunderbolt, firewire 800 and usb conections.
Is firewire 800 enough to video edition, not only for storage the images?, thank you very much.

If you're looking for a dependable Firewire 800 External HD check out the OWC Mercury Elite Pro
I'm not familiar enough with RAID Externals, but I know a lot of video production pros use them. In that case check out the
    OWC Performance RAID O
    OWC also has Thunderbolt Drives
