Avoiding split images when printing html

I am writing html pages in dreamweaver and when I print from safari, the images are split between pages. Is there a way around this either in my html coding or in the 'save to pdf' in the printing?

Could be bad for your situation, but the only way I have successfully gotten around some of the issues you're describing is by outputtings static html files and opening in the user's local browser.
In your case that could be a large amount of code and you also have issues with whatever local browser they're using.  (God forbid they have IE then you'll be outputting your html / canvas and it still won't print.)
Unfortunately I don't really have an answer for you and I don't think Adobe does yet.  (You can see my basic workaround for printing to the user's local browser here: http://vfoo.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/adobe-air-print-css-and-html-printing-hack/ Note:  I don't think my workaround will be the best for your because relying on the user's browser for canvas printing is a bit of Russian Roulette)

  • Inverted images when printing pdf to Universal PDF driver

Our company is beginning to use SSGD with two Windows XP instances (via RDP?). We deal largely with pdf forms that contain black & white bitmap image data. Within the SGD Windows instance, the pdf opens fine in Adobe Reader. Printing to any of the local printers configured on SGD is also fine. When printing to either of the Universal PDF print drivers (Printer or Viewer), however, the image portions of the document show up on the client side with inverted black/white.
This occurs only for images embedded in the pdf. If I print the image as a separate bitmap file, it comes out fine on the client side.
    Any ideas?
    -dan

what version of SGD and what version of Ghostscript do you have installed on the SGD server?
    $ tarantella version
    $ gs -V
it may be that you have an older version of Ghostscript or not all the proper fonts installed
    http://docs.sun.com/source/820-6689/chapter5.html#d0e26763
another thing to test is how the PS print job looks like before it gets converted by Ghostscript. You can pause the printing on SGD 'tarantella print pause' then look for the PS file on your Windows XP instance (c:\TEMP) is the usual location of the file. See if it is not being rendered properly. If it is not, then you would want to choose a different driver to use
    http://docs.sun.com/source/820-6689/appendix1.html#d0e49203
try another driver and see if that makes a difference.

  • Missing images when printing (in Word)

I am wrapping up a very long report for a client, and have inserted a number of color images (JPG). I cannot for the life of me get them to print. They show up just fine in the print preview, but nothing actually shows up on the paper when I actually print the document. I have checked every setting I can think of, but nothing seems to be off. I have tried converting to PDF, but the images are missing in those, too.  I've also tried converting to a DOC file (rather than the current DOCX version)-- also a fail.  Does anyone know what the trick is to getting images to print in Word??? I'm at a total loss and it's driving me batty.
Copying and reformatting the entire report into Pages will take FOREVER and I'm really hoping to avoid that.  Help!!!!
    Thanks.

  • Can I specify font size=1 when printing HTML?

I want print my HTML report in font size = 1. I don't know how to do it?
When using report builder, there seems no special control for printing HTML?
Hope experts here broaden my mind
    Richard

    This is possible
    1) In Builder paper layout select the object for which you want to change the font size
    2) In menu
    Format --> Font
You can change the font and its size
Then generate to html/htmlcss . I have verified this

  • Missing images when printing to pdf from Word

When printing to pdf from MS Word 2003 in some cases textboxes and/or images disappear in the target PDF, depending on their position.
Word and Acrobat Standard are the latest updates. If the Word text is converted on a Mac the target pdf has the images present, so it looks like it's a Windows only problem. Any suggestions where to start looking for a fix?

You may have to turn on "display large images" in the preferences.

  • Double image when printing labels

I am copying in a graphic for Avery round labels. Everything looks fine on the screen, but when printed, some (not all) of the labels have the image, plus a smaller version of the image on top of it. Kind of like an inset. I have reloaded the printer software (I have an HP Photosmart c8180 All in one), used old avery forms, downloaded new avery forms, and a host of meaninless other things.  Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi, have you tried using another program to print the image?

  • Center Image When Printing PDF?

When we updated to X Pro, now when ever we print a PDF onto a paper larger than the file, it always puts the image in the upper left corner of the paper. There used to be a centering option, but now there is none. How do I get it to center the images when I print? Thank you.

Does it show full page on the screen, or a small image there also?

  • Lines on image when printing Raw files

    Dear All
I am trying to print Raw images.
After converting and making my adjustments, I click on File > print (in the PSE editor) and then use the cursor to drag out the image to the size I want (roughly a 10 inch by 8 inch image to be printed on A4 paper). I then print it and it comes out with loads of parallel lines on the image.
    Any advice to correct this?
    Regards
    Jon CAmilleri

    Hello All
I am managing to print out raw files fine after manipulating them in canons own software (Digital photo professional) but still getting bands when using PSE 7 raw converter? Any more advice?
When sending to print in PSE a box comes up saying 'Some post-script specific settings (interpolation, calibration, encoding) will be ignored as you are printing to a non-postscript printer'  This box does not come up when printing from digital photo professional. Could this be the problem resulting in bands on the image and, if so, can it be corrected?
Someone mentioned about Gamut problems - how do I alter/correct these?
Also, with Raw files, after I have manipulated them (e.g to black and white) how can I perform other tasks (eg dodge and burn areas)  as it seems that PSE wont let me do this on a RAW image.
Do I have to save it as a JPEG first ?   If so, what is the point in taking a RAW image in the first place if I am going to lose detail by converting it to a JPEG?
    Sorry for all the questions
    Regards
    Jon

  • Cropped images when printing

Every Word document that contains a image (jpeg in most cases) gets cropped on two sides when printed, even though print preview reflects otherwise.  These are not new documents and printed fine with previous printer (Epson).  Called tech support and the rep was stumped although I see many posts in the forum about this.

    Hi dlmott27,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that documents printed previously with another brand are not printing correctly with your HP printer.
To better assist you, would you please provide some further information:
    1)       What make/model/product number of HP printer do you have? Guide to finding your product number
    2)      How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
    3)      Are you printing the documents from the same program that was used to print the documents before? If not, what happens when you print using the same program?
    4)      What operating system are you using?  Is it the same operating system that was running when the documents were printed previously?
    Thank you.

  • Lines in images when printing from anything but iphoto

When I print on my computer from anything but iphoto the quality is horrible and the print has very noticeable lines in it across everything. I recently did a layout in Adobe Illustrator and when I went to print it on regular 4x6 satin photo paper there are lines everywhere. This also happens when printing from powerpoint, photoshop, word, and whatever else that is not iphoto. I cant send out things that are printed at such horrible quality. Everything comes out fine when i print text in black but photos look pixelated and have lines in them no matter what paper I use if printed from anything but iphoto.
    HELP DR.

Check the printer manual about calibrating. There is a solution in most drivers for inkjet printers which may call like paper forwarding or so. It seems, that your printer forwords the paper a bit to much before the line is printed.

  • How avoid photoblack ink when printing documents

I need answer for my son's MAC now, and when I get home, using Windows 8.1.  Two different all in one printers:
MAC - 7250 e; Windows 401c [I think].  On Mac I can't find how to access print quality while printing Google Map.  It won't print because photoblack cartridge is empty, but I don't want to use Photoblack.  On Windows I almost never print photos, but Photoblack keeps running out.  If I don't solve the ink use problem, my next printer won't be an HP even if it is top rated for everything but ink use.

    Hi @elnsie
When a cartridge is empty it needs to be replaced, even if you are not printing with that particular cartridge. If the printer allowed you to continue printing with a depleted cartridge air would pull through and damage the printer. Basically, the printer is protecting itself.
As for stopping the printer from using the photo black when you are not printing photos, you can set the printer to use black ink only when printing from the PC and that should ensure that it uses that the black ink and not the photo ink. Please take a look @MissTeriLynn 's post regarding this very issue; Black vs photoblack
    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot choose printer when printing HTML report

    Hello,
I have lost many many hours trying to print correctly a report that is composed only of a JPEG image.
After a conversation in the forum, I concluded that the LabVIEW has a bug printing Standard Reports, as it cannot manipulate correctly the margins and the scale of the image. But, when using Standard Reports I could choose which printer to use.
So, I use HTML Reports that print the report smoothly, but the choise of the printer has a problem. No matter which printer is chosen by a Ring Menu, it prints to same printer all the time.
Could you please give me any hint to solve this problem?

Hey guys, this is Paul with National Instruments.
Being employed at NI I am obligated to provide a big disclaimer about the information I am about to provide:
MANUALLY CHANGING YOUR WINDOWS REGISTRY CAN CAUSE CORRUPTION AND ERRORS IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL.  DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
With that being said, nikosfs was on the right track by editing his Windows Registry to perform this action.  Please see the following steps, and see if it helps further explain what you need to do:
Open the Registry Editor. To do this, click Start >> Run and type "regedit", then press OK.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows.   In this key there should be an entry called Device with values that should match up with your default printer.
Right click on the Windows key, choose "Export" from the menu that pops up, and save the Registration File as printer1.reg.
Leaving the Registry Editor open, change your default printer. To do this, go to Start >> Settings >> Printers and Faxes. Right click on the printer that you want your report to print to, and choose the option "Set as Default Printer".
Go back to the Registry Editor, it should be noted that the value of the Device entry has changed to the new default printer. Right click on the Windows key again, choose "Export" from the menu that pops up, and save the Registration File as printer2.reg
These two files may now be used to manipulate your default printer settings in conjunction with the System Exec.vi. The figures below show how to use the registry files and the System Exec.vi.
→ The "/s" in the text field makes sure that this vi will run without interrupting regular user interaction.
→ The path constant is set to "c:\" because the Registration Files were saved directly in the C drive. Change according to location of Registration Files.
Make sure that this operation is called before the Print Report.vi is called, as it will print just to the default printer.

Sorry, I meant to add this to my first post - the <td> elements have no width assigned to them, except for the text block. ALL <td> elements should be given a width (height as well if it's a static layout) as well as the widths and heights given to the <img> elements.
The display:block element  is a requirement for Hotmail and Gmail as they can display table elements differently however Gmail has been getting better of late but it should still be added to every <img> element.
    Hope this solves the problem.

  • Avoiding multiple renders when printing to tape

I'm currently using FCEHD 3.5 and working in HDV. When I print to tape in HDV, it can take quite a bit of time for FCE to render the file it is going to output to the tape.
If I wanted to create multiple tapes of the same file, is there a way to avoid rendering each time before I print?
In other words, can I export/render the movie once, then print the exported file to tape? If so, how?

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Yes, alas HDV needs rendering each time when you "print to tape" .
That's because FCE process HDV by converting it to "Apple Intermediate Codec" upon capturing (the same thing for iMovie HD), and printing to tape needs the reverse process: converting from Apple intermediate Codec to HDV (mpeg 2 in reality, with GOP-group of images- at each .5 second).
Final Cut Pro can read and print HDV natively.
    Give a look to:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=493862&tstart=0
One workaround for your needs, is to connect 2 HDV camcorders together and record from one to another.
