I created wordpress web site in azure. I am using basic web hosting mode. I uploaded my wp files to new azure web site. I selected My sql db and West EU location.
My web site loading very slowly.
ortacdemirel.azurewebsites.net
(i did not redirect my dns records to azure and my web page menu links show my ex-web page)
what is the problem?  Is there a any missing configuration?

Hi,
Please have a look at this article:
http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2014/08/11/10-ways-to-speed-up-your-wordpress-site-on-azure-websites/.
If you are running your WordPress website on Azure Websites and want to optimize it to obtain fast page load time, then consider implementing these quick and easy steps mentioned below:
1. Web site and Database must be in the same data center
2. Do not use FREE MySQL database
3. Optimize your database
4. Compress Images
5. Reduce HTTP requests
6. Diagnose if your theme is slowing down your site
7. Diagnose if any plugin is slowing down your site
8. Turn off Pingbacks and Trackbacks if you don’t use it
9. Specify Image dimension
10. Caching

  • Website loading slowly?

    Hello community,
I was wondering what would cause my website to run slowly? How can I determine if it's the host or me. The host is godaddy in this case.
    www.nailontheheadinc.com
The gallery images seem to be taking forever to load.
    More information...
    Image background is a gif
Images are less than 1MB a piece
    Thanks,
    Robert

I have a lightening fast fiber optics connection so I don't notice a lot of delay but there is some latency.  If you're on free or shared hosting plan with GoDaddy, good luck to you.  You get what you pay for.
I notice your background image is big. 721.96 kb (739,287 bytes) is about 7-1/2 times bigger than it should be. http://www.nailontheheadinc.com/grunge-construction1.gif
    Gallery:
         16 x approx. 100 kb = 16,000+ kb for full size images
         16 x approx. 50 kb = 800+ kb for thumbnail images
This stuff is all cumulative.  You might try reducing image file size some more.  I try to keep thumbnails around 15 kb and full size images around 50 kb.

  • Website loading slowly in Firefox.

I have my own website http://www.firsttop10.com which is loading very good in other browsers like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera and others. But it is not loading at good speed (very slow).

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

check the website, by disabling your Antivirus
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.

  • Z87 GD45 Network issues/some sites loading slowly

Hi, I've just built a new system with a MSI Z87 GD45 and i5 4670k. Everything is running great, but certain websites load slowly.
Microsoft has been the worst so far. At first the page I need would sometimes not load all the assets, and then it would load the site fine, but the downloads are ALWAYS unbearably slow. I had to get the .NET 4.5 framework because my AMD catalyst drivers were stopping on that process, but downloading from microsoft was under 1KB/s. I ended up having to download the .NET framework through a torrent, because every other site just mirrored microsofts link.
Other websites are intermittently loading very slowly or just a little bit slower than they should.
I have a 100Mbit fiber connection that consistently gets between 110 and 116MbitDL and 2.3-2.5Mbit UL on speedtest.net from my local server. When I say some sites are loading slow, I mean slower than 56k, not slow relative to my normal fast speeds. My last computer using realtek eNIC and my room mates computer using a broadcomm eNIC has no such issues.
What I have tried so far:
Downloaded the latest killer E2200 drivers and removal utility.
    Removed old drivers, rebooted.
    Run removal utility, rebooted.
    Installed new drivers, rebooted.
Tried with Atheros Killer application manager enabled (default) and disabled.
    My system consists of:
    MSI z87 GD45
    Core i5 4670k (stock)
    GEIL Evo veloce 16GB (2x8GB) 1866 (XMP)
Gigabyte HD7950 3GB windforce (from my old computer)
Seasonic 660w Platinum PSU in hybrid fan mode (in stress testing the fan has never switched on)
    Sandisk Extreme II 240GB SSD
    WD 3TB green HDD
    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
The system has otherwise been completely stable and runs cool in stress testing (prime95 and furmark).
The only other issue(s) is that there is no driver installed for the PCI Simple communications Controller and two other Unknown Devices in the Device manager. I installed the chipset, LAN and audio drivers and then the intel USB3 driver. On reboot, nothing using USB worked, including my mouse and keyboard, so I rebooted in safe mode and removed the driver... now everything works. Should I perhaps look for a newer version of this driver. I can't see how that's related to my internet speed issue though...
Back to the problem, right now I'm downloading microsoft security essentials at 4KB/s which is the fastest it has gone so far. Before that I downloaded a game from steam at 8-12MB/s..... why is microsofts site so consistently slow on my system?

    Hi Andrew86,
It's obvious you just made a typo. Here is one topic regarding internet with the 45 : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=170539.0
This seemed to be a solution
Quote from: Insirion on 29-August-13, 00:53:15
yesterday I got a bluescreen. i had those 3 times that week. On the log it said it was because of the killer network card.
Too fix this I went to "msconfig' then the tab services. And check off "Qualcomm Atheros killer Service",
And under boot I disabled KillerNetManager. Wiorked for me so far.

  • Fired up my first Azure Website to host some virtual tours... ftp uploading and page loads super slow.

I upgraded my plan to BASIC... any idea why FTP upload are so slow?  When I go to my pages, they are loading slowly too.

    Hi,
First, please have a look at this article to see how to use FTP in azure:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaushal/archive/2014/08/02/microsoft-azure-web-site-connect-to-your-site-via-ftp-and-upload-download-files.aspx, based on your description, the pages loading slowly, this issue only occur in your first time to loading? If yes, I
think it is normal, If you mean the initial request takes long and then any subsequent requests are fast, then that would be because you are hitting .NET apps cold start. Many .NET apps are slow to JIT and load all their .NET requirements, but once everything
is loaded, they are fast. If I misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.

  • Main image loads slowly on website

How do I fix the fact that the main image on my web pages loads slowly on any web browser?  I created each main image in Photoshop and made sure each was 72 dpi and was its layers were flattened.  Is there some kind of code I need to add?  I heard something about adding java script.
    Please let me know.

LOL comment is from a Spam Bot.  Just ignore it.
Images should be resized to the size required on your web page(s).  Save for Web as optimized JPGs.  The smaller the file size, the faster your page load speed.

  • Firefox loading slowly including other websites, freezes

When I open firefox it loads slowly. When I try to go to another site it slows/freezes. What can I do to fix this. Also in the help tab it only give me the option for troubleshooting information. No reload, restart option.

I suspect that the search value in your setup is invalid.
Could you please do the following.<br><br>
#In the location bar where you normally type in a web address, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
#If you see a window which says "This might void your warranty!", click the button which says "I'll be careful, I promise" so you can continue with the next step.<br><br>
#In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
#Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q= and then click OK.<br><br>
    #Close the tab<br>
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.<br><br>
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the Firefox button, go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>

  • "Bookmarks and history system will not be functional" with corrupt files found by Avast and websites loading slow ONLY in Firefox

Firefox is the only browser that lets me connect with my microphone. I need to use this feature for an online class. Earlier this evening, the message prompting me to allow or deny the class website permission to use the microphone stopped appearing, and without it the recording won't pick up any sound and I can't record anything.
I tried exiting and restarting Firefox. I had some extensions in use at the time, in particular Session Manager. The allow/deny message still wouldn't appear, so I restarted my computer.
Now when I open Firefox I see the "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message. In addition, the browser loads websites extremely slowly; it takes several minutes to load each page or for me to be able to click on anything (the URL bar, the menus, etc) My other browsers (Internet Explorer and Chrome) are running normally and load websites at a normal speed. I tried downloading the latest version of Firefox but it didn't fix anything. I also tried restarting the computer again but that didn't help either.
I ran my Avast software system check and it turned up that the following files under "C:\Users\(me)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Irozixj7.default" are "corrupted and unreadable":
    -cookies.sqlite-shm
    -cookies.sqlite-wal
    -localstore.rdf
    -places.sqlite-shm
There was one more problem on the scan, but it probably isn't relevant: for the file "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Definition Updates\{9A2C6FA7-E04E-4819-B86A-8363A9D1E42A}\mpengine.dll" it says "The system cannot find the path specified." When I attempted to follow the path indicated, one of the folders (I can't remember which) said something along the lines of "You can't access this folder, do you want to permanently allow access to this folder?" I said yes and was able to access the folder.
I have tried to add the Places Maintenance extension but the speed is too sluggish to download anything. Trying to access any of the menus results in the browser freezing for several minutes then unfreezing but with the menu still unopened. Therefore none of the solutions found here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional?esab=a&as=aaq) seem to work.
    My questions are as follows:
-Is it possible to figure out what caused the problem in the first place?
-Is there a way for me to fix it without losing my bookmarks and history?
-How can I avoid this happening again in the future?

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder. To quickly access this folder:
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Next, keep this folder open, exit Firefox, and try moving the "corrupted and unreadable" files to a different folder. With the exception of localstore.rdf, which stores window positions, toolbar customizations, and other nonessential data, the other files appear to be session-specific files that hopefully are not critical. If you restart Firefox, does it behave more normally?
If not, try creating a fresh Firefox profile. It will have the Flash plugin, which is the control sites usually use to connects your camera and/or microphone, and other plugins, but otherwise will be a new setup. This article has the steps for starting up in the Profile Manager: [[Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles]].
If sites work normally in the new profile, you can import your bookmarks from your old profile, as well as copying over other files that don't seem to be causing the problem. Some trial and error might be required to determine that. This article has some tips: [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].
If the new profile is no better, you can exit Firefox and use the Profile Manager to switch back to your original profile.
    Any improvement?

  • Published website loads in layers

My website loads in layers, but I do not have very many pictures on my pages, so the problem shouldn't be that I have too many pictures. It also isn't loading slowly, persay, it just loads layer by layer, so it looks weird. The site is

Your web site loads pretty good in Safari with a broadband connection.
To speed it up more, and to get it to load in IE, you should consider optimizing your files if you don't already do so....

  • The website loads after a long time.

I am using Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical 1.0 . My version of Ubuntu is 12.01 . The problem is, that websites load very slowly. I have never had that problem before. It appeared suddenly. Other web browsers work fine on the same computer. I have not installed anything recently. I checked my computer for viruses and malware, but found nothing.
I have also checked my Firefox on Windows 7. There is the same problem.
Could you give me a hint on what I should do, please?

  • Images and objects loading slowly

I built my personal website with Adobe Muse (http://www.tylerburton.me/) and there are a few issues I would like to fix. The main problem is certain images and objects seem to load slowly and weirdly when I navigate to the pages. The green navigation bar at the top of the screen as well as the background of my portfolio or the two main examples. Any advice would be much appreciated.

For the two background images, create the faded effect in Photoshop and save the images as JPEG prior to importing into Muse.
At present these two images are either transparent to begin with or have transparency applied in Muse to create the faded effect. That works visually, but results in Muse converting the images to PNG (to support the transparency) and PNG is roughly 5 times larger than a reasonable quality JPEG for this type of image. If you flatten the effect into an opaque version of the image in Photoshop, then JPEG format can be used.
I'm not seeing unusual loading of the header bar, but you might be seeing FOUT (Flash Of Unstyled Text)? It can/will occur if the browser first draws the page before the Web Fonts have loaded. The exact behavior depends on connection speed, the browser used and no doubt other factors.

  • Long HTTP Request/Response round trip time on new Azure Websites under BizSpark Plus

    Hi,
I have a very difficult situation. I am busy migrating from a traditional VM architecture to Azure Websites. This is after a few months of testing and being happy that Azure Websites can provide the performance necessary for our application. The TEST site
I set up is running great and meets all the performance requirements. The TEST site is set up under my normal BizSpark subscription.
We have since been awarded a BizSpark Plus subscription and I have started the migration process on this subscription, as opposed to the normal BizSpark basic subscription.
However, since starting our migration process, I am experiencing huge latency on the HTTP request roundtrip from browser to server and back for my newly created LIVE Azure Website instance. I have investigated and observed the statistics between the TEST
and LIVE instances. Here is a test run against the 2 environments on a particular screen of our application. Here are the times for the full roundtrip for each AJAX HTTP request of the specific actions:
TEST (Azure Website on BizSpark subscription):
    GetAudioSource - 267ms
    LogStartEvent - 196ms
    LogProgress - 243ms
Retrieval of Audio file - 2.06s
LIVE (Azure Website on BizSpark Plus subscription):
    GetAudioSource - 938ms
    LogStartEvent - 3.61s
    LogProgress - 5.11s
Retrieval of Audio file - 5.97s
There is clearly something wrong with the routing of the LIVE instance starting at the load balancer.
This is not the only place affected. In fact, all the HTTP requests are very lagged and delayed in the LIVE instance as opposed to hardly noticeable in the TEST instance.
I am wondering if there is a lower priority being afforded to my BizSpark Plus subscription running my LIVE instance, of if I am just unlucky with the underlying infrastructure that has been selected on my behalf. Or, is it possible that something can be
done to enhance and optimise the routing etc?
I also need to say that I have matched the Azure Website configuration and scale settings to be exactly the same between the 2 instances and have also set Always On to ON.
Any help or thoughts will be greatly appreciated, because I am starting to seriously doubt the service levels of the Azure Websites platform.
    Thank you
    Ozzy

    Hello Ozzy Vox,
    1. Which region(data center) do you have your websites deployed in?
Ideally there would be no change in terms of type of subsciptions when you deploy your website in production.
I suggest that you set up diagnostics on to your Azure websites to get the logs to understand where it is spending most of its time and the reason behind the latency.
You can refer to this link that will give you information on 'How to Monitor Websites':
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/web-sites-monitor/
Also refer to this link regarding 'Enable diagnostic logging for Azure Websites':

  • Is there a list of best practices for Azure websites?

    Hi all;
I was talking with a Sql Server expert today and learned that Azure Sql Server can take up to a minute to respond to a query that normally takes a fraction of a second. This is one of those things where it's really valuable to learn it when architecting as
opposed to when we go live.
Websites are not Sql Server (obviously) but that led to the question - Is there a list of best practices for Azure Websites? If so, what are they?
We will be the website in multiple datacenters and using traffic manager to point people to the right one. The website will run as a REST server using Web API 2, mostly for license checks from our app running on corporate Exchange servers. And a small part
will be for javascript based web pages used for account CRUD.

One other idea out of the slow cooker is to use a dedicated web server with SQL server running beside IIS
If you are using the standard web sites, then the SQL option is about as slow as FTP uploads, very slow

  • TFS Azure website is down: Error persists after rollback

I had a website connected with TFS and Azure.
I added another project to that solution and accidentally messed with its nuget packages.
Now I rolled back to the changeset that was before, and the solution in both VS and TFS online looks like that changeset that used to be before.
Anyway, the website is still down, I get
    this error:
[FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Owin,
    Version=2.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its

    <OLDPROJECTNAME!>.Startup.ConfigureAuth(IAppBuilder app) +0
    <OLDPROJECTNAME!>.Startup.Configuration(IAppBuilder app) +5
Which definitely belongs to the old added project which has now been removed
    from solution/changeset.
Why does TFS insist on complaining about a problem that doesn't exists in the changeset at all!
Another evidence that this is a bug related to the system. I've created a brand new website on azure and deployed the same website again and works like a charm.
The problem is I don't want to delete and recreate the website because I don't have access to the domain host and its settings. Is there a way to clean an azure website's contents (but the domain settings) and redeploy it?
    Shimmy

It definitely looks like a deployment issue.
In the jsFiddle I've attached, the error source is:
    LevEl.Quiz.Startup.Configuration(IAppBuilder app) +5
Which is the Owin configuration method of project that isn't supposed to be implemented at all.
Basically I'm looking for a way to clean the website entirely before the deployment (while retaining basic settings such as DNS etc).
Just checking with Kudu (How the cow didn't know it exists!?)
And I do see many unexpected DLLs and other files from previous deployments.
I'm not sure what I should erase in preparation for a new deployment, I mean, what happens if a user formats his entire drive?

  • Umbraco site running slow on Azure Websites

I have a site using Umbraco that I recently moved to Azure Websites with a SQL Azure server (first time I've used Azure)for hosting and since moving it there I'm seeing some serious performance issues. The site was hosted on a dev server that we have with
Rackspace and performance was just fine there. But on Azure load times seem to have doubled to tripled on some pages. The pages have that are loading slow have a lot of relational data that I have set up using node to node relations.
    For example of load times:
    http://tipawards.azurewebsites.net/the-heroes/ - 5384ms on Azure
    http://tipheroes.openfieldcreative.com/the-heroes/ - 2548ms on Rackspace
    and even worse:
    http://tipawards.azurewebsites.net/resources/ - 13872ms on Azure
    http://tipheroes.openfieldcreative.com/resources/ - 3193ms on Rackspace
I've tried upgrading both the server and the database and neither seems to have any effect on the load times. The server stats also don't seem to be spiked out. RAM for website stays around 32% and spikes once to 42% while the largest processor spike is
2%. The SQL Azure server spikes at about 22% DTUs. I also have the website set be always on to keep it warm.
I'm at a loss here as to what would be causing such a drastic change in performance.
Any suggestions that anyone could give to speed this up some is greatly appreciated and I'm happy to supply any additional information.
