B1DE Add-on Installer

Hi,
I did use B1DE to make the installer for my addon
Everything is working perfectly in my development environment which i did install the addon with success.
As soon as I try on the client machine I got the error
Add-on MyAddon : Add-on %s - uninstall failed.
And believe it or not this error appear when I click INSTALL on SAP dialogbox and it is the first time I'm trying to install the add-on on this machine
Any idea ?

I don't know if SAP would like us doing this, but when I have a problem where the addon install/uninstall is failing, I go to a text file that sap has on the client machine & remove the xml in the file for my addon.  (This wouldn't be a good thing to do if you really do have another addon of the same name).  The file is C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo.
It has a lots of xml describing each addon installed on the local client.  You can CAREFULLY delete all the XML for just your addon (copy the file first) and then save it.  Do this when the SAP client is not running.
The code for one addon looks like this:
<AddOn Exe="XXCSBOAddOnMCD.exe" Installer="XXDAddOnMCD_Installer.exe" InstallerMD5="8979d3f0598d8a72ba06c6e91f550868" Name="XXDSBOAddOnMCD" Path="C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\XXD\XXDSBOAddOnMCD" Space="XXD" UID="XXD_XXDSBOAddOnMCD" UnInstEstTime="0" UnInstParams="/x" UnInstaler="XXDSBOAddOnMCD_Installer.exe" UnInstallerMD5="8979d3f0598d8a72ba06c6e91f550868" Ver="1.0"><Common ID="20" Name="vmsqlsap01"/><Common ID="6" Name="JOHNCHADWICK\SQLEXPRESS"/></AddOn>
There will likely be lots of other code in there that looks almost the same, but for other addons) that you don't want to touch, but you can see that what should be deleted is everything between the <Addon .... and  </AddOn> for your addon.  Like I said be VERY careful not to delete more than you should.  NOTE also at the very end of the document is </Addons> - You sure don't want to delete that!
Also go to the C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns folder, find the folder for your addon from among the subfolders & delete your addon's folder, if it is there.  Again BE CAREFUL.
This process has helped me out many times.

  • BI 7.0 Java Add-on installation hangs

    Hi Guru's
While doing upgrade of BW 3.5 (Netweaver 2004) to BI 7.0 (Netweaver 2004s) during Java Add-on installation at "Database Instance Java Add-in" phase the installation hang on "Import Java dump" phase.
I have tried to kill and restart the installation 2-3 times and restarting the complete installation once again it stops at the same phase. Kindly let me know what can be the reason because we have not face this issue in DEV and QA environment. It is my production server.
The environment is HP-UX IA64 with oracle 10g.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rajesh,
What stage is the installation hanging at ?
Please provide any error info from sapinst_dev.log
Check if java engine is installed and is up and running or not.. You could check the j2ee work directory under which you find j2ee stack related traces.
e.g. check std_server0 to see if the server is up or not
    Please send more details

  • B1DE Add-on Failure

    Hey Gurus,
We have developed an Add-on using the code generator wizard from the B1DE. The Add-on runs fine on machines, where Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2005 is installed. But it crashes on the PCs, where .Net Framework 2.0 is installed properly and do not have Microsoft Visual Studio .Net installed.
Below are the few information that can help you to track down the issue.
    System: SAP Business One 2005 A (6.80.318) SP:01 PL:10
    SQL: SQL 2005
    .Net Framework: 2.0
    Add-on created using: B1DE Add-on Wizard
    Error Message:
    System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException
Message: "Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information."
    Source: "mscorlib"
I did rebuilt the add-on using B1DE, copied my code in the new solution file and the Add-on worked for few days, now it started giving me the problem again
Any help in this regards will be rewarded.. I mean will be highly appreciated..:)
    Thanks & Regards,
    ~Bibs

    Hey Rob,
    Thanks for the reply.
I did use the B1DE Add-on generator for my Add-on code and the wizard generated the correct and the latest dll i.e., B1WizardBase.dll.
My Add-on works if i rebuilt a new solution and move the code from the old solution file to the latest solution.. But the problem persist after some days..
I think I have mistakenly unmarked my post as normal post and no one wants to help for a post which will not give any rewards...???

    Hi,
Please take a look at note 819501 on the steps to clean corrupt installation of add-on(s).
For XLR clean remove, follow the steps below.
    1. Un-register all addons from Business One> Add On Administration.
    2. Log into the company again to refresh it, uninstall process will continue.
    3. Close Business One, check from Add Remove Programs, if XLR is still shown, delete it.
    4. Delete following files from B1 installation folder

    7. In company database, delete all tables starting with ixt and ixv
    8. click windows Start> Run> type '%temp%', rename SM_OBS_DLL folder.
for example 'SM_OBS_DLLOld' or delete it.
    9. Open Register, delete XLR foler if it exists under
       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAP Manage\SAP Business One\AddOn\
    10. Delete folder iLytix from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.
    10.Reinstall XLR
In addition, it's not recommended to remove Addons from Add and Remove programs. You can remove AddOnsInstall.sbo and AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo.

  • Can't start SAP after Java add-in installation

    Hi,
We have migrated our BW 3.1C system to BI 7.0 (Win2003, Oracle 10.2, non-unicode). Everything was OK with the Abap system upgrade. There is no "C  Nls CharacterSet..." line, the problem must be something regarding NLS charactersets, non-unicode/unicode issues...
But we don't know how to solve the problem.

  • Java Add-In installation on a existing ABAP System (MSCS Cluster)

    Hi all
we try to install a Java Add-In for a already existing ABAP System with
SAPinst. The ABAP System is a NetWeaver2004s SR1 System in a MSCS Cluster.
We have the Problem that we can´t choose the Installation Drive during
the SAPInst Define Parameter Step during the "Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In" Installation.
But in the Installation Manual for
NW2004s Java AS in Chapter 4.3.2 is stated:
"Caution: You must install it on the same shared disk as the ASCS instance."
If I run the Installation, the SCS will be installed on the local disk E:
beside the Central Instance. But it need to be on the shared Disk P:
beside the ASCS installation. How can I control this?
    Stefan

obviously the network share saploc is existing in your system an pointing to a local device.
Delete the local saploc share, install SCS instance, run MSCS first node, additional node, create the local share saploc again (don't forget to set permissions on the share, the default permission did only allow Read vor Everyone) and proceed with installation.
There is a note in creation for this issue.

  • The Add-on installation is currently in phase DDIC_ACTIVATION

    Dear All,
I am applying the addon "ST-A/PI" on SAP ERP 6.0. The status "The Add-on installation is currently in phase DDIC_ACTIVATION" has been there for a few hours now whereas the sap note says it should end in 12 mins approx.
Could you please help in resolving the issue. This is very important.
    Thanks
    Best Regards,

    Welcome to SDN,
You can't change the existing queue if the SPAM status is DDIC_ACTIVATION.
Can you please check the SPAM --> goto --> import logs.
You need to raise an OSS message if you want to reset the SPAM queue.

  • SAP Standard Customizing is missing after the Add-on installation

    Dear Experts,
We have an ERP 6.0 EHP4 system and it has been using for a while. We have done an AFS 6.4 Add-on implementation on top of the ERP system.
We have a configuration only client 200 on the system and that was already there before we did the add-on installation.
Once the add-on installation is completed, we could see most of the SAP Standard configuration which should come along with the add-on is not there in client 200. But everything is there on Client 000 without any problem.
What could be the problem ? have we missed anything here.
I have found a note : 337623 which ask you to manually populate the configuration using SFW5.
I'm not very clear about this. Should we really do this SFW5 ? or is there any other way that we coul'd get those configurations in to client 200 where we have years old other configurations.
Appreciate of you could kindly give some ideas as to how I should get this problem fixed.
Thanks a a lot in advance.
    Best Regards
    Kushan

    HI Kushan,
This sounds like it might be the correct behavior. When you install an ADD-ON into SAP, the install process does not know which client you have saved your default customization settings into so it is likely going to put these into client 000 or 001.
    Does that help?

    Hi all,
    Scenario for SAP 9.0 PL 07 :-
I have logged in using Windows Standard user profile.
The SAP folder in " C:\Program Files\SAP " has been given full Admin privileges.

    @ Pvsb prasad k,
    Thanks for the reply.
We have tried giving full rights(full control) to the user for the SAP folder in " C:\Program Files\SAP ".
But still the Add-On installation problem exists.
Is there any other folder of SAP which requires the full control permission to be given?
    Please suggest.

  • SAP add-on installation

Hi experts. Sorry in advance (dunno if it is correct place for this question)!
I have created add-on installation (It works correctly 100%, already was implemented).
Data base on current system was restored and now when I try to install this .pat file in SAINT transaction I have following error :
      -   Error in phase: CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
      -   Reason for error: QUEUE_NOT_EMPTY
      -   Return code:
      -   Error message:
I have triyed to run OCS_RESET_QUEUE function module, but it did not help.
Thanks for any information in advance!

The correct space would have been SAP NetWeaver Administrator or SAP NetWeaver Application Server. Anyway, there must be something in the transport directory (e.g. /usr/sap/trans) indicating that the request(s) are still being processed. Did you confirm the queue when you previously installed the add-on? Before the system restore?

  • System Settings Add-On Installer on KDE4.9 [Solved/Disregard]

    Hey everyone!
I've been having this problem for days now and I can't figure out what to do. So, here's the problem, I have a working internet connection and everything, however, if I want to go and get a new window decoration the Add-On Installer never gets passed the Initializing loader on the bottom. I have left it alone for hours and it still never got past it. Any ideas?
EDIT: Have no idea what happened, but I woke up this morning and found it working again. So maybe server's were down...? I had upgraded my system (pacman -Syu), so maybe something changed the problem.

QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
This error means nothing. Its caused by apps using KUniqueApplication, which does some basic stuff like creating a D-Bus connection and forkes to create the real applications see:

  • Add-In Installation: check logon.ticket_client (see note 994785)

    Hi all,
We have successfully setup BI to portal connectivity and it is working fine with just one exception that is BEx Broadcast is not functional. Step 8 and 12 of RSPOR_SETUP are in RED.
    STEP 8:
Status 8: Configure User Management in Portal       -    Add-In Installation: check logon.ticket_client (see note 994785)
    STEP 12:
Status 12: Maintain User Assignment in Portal        -   System failure during call of function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST
In this regard, support desk tool is displaying warning over WebAS ABAP setting with following message:
    STATUS = YELLOW
User mapping check not possible Try to execute Support Desk Tool by another user in order to perform user mapping check
Applying SAP note 994785 that refers to changing the logon.ticket_client parameter to a client that does not exist in ABAP. We did change the Java client in Visual Admin-->Security Provider service as follows:
    1. Choose the User Management tab page.
    2. Choose Manage Security Stores.
    3. Select the login module CreateTicketLoginModule and choose View / Change Properties.
Also, new parameter value was added to instance profile with logon.ticket_client=799 (client that does not exist in ABAP). And the certificate in STRUSTSSO2 added to ACL with client 799. Restarting the instance and running the report RSPOR_SETUP still encounter the same issues as above in STEP 8 and 12.
Please correct me if I went wrong somewhere in the above process.
    Regards.

    Hi Sandeep,
Support Desk tool is already installed hence the output.
"In this regard, support desk tool is displaying warning over WebAS ABAP setting with following message:
    STATUS = YELLOW
User mapping check not possible Try to execute Support Desk Tool by another user in order to perform user mapping check "

  • Java Add-In Installation for EHP4 ERP system

    Hello!
we successfully upgraded our SAP ERP system to EHP4 for SAP.
Our system has only ABAP stack.
    Question
    1) Is it possible to install a Java Add-In instance for the existing EHP4 system?
    2) If yes, can this be done on the same Windows server?
    Thank you very much!

    Specific Requirements
Take the following specific requirements of the new installation process into consideration:
    - The previous SAPInst installation service Java Add-In in SAP ERP 6.0/SAP NetWeaver
7.0 was able to add Java usage types such as EPC, or EP, to existing ABAP-only
systems. This was possible only, if you added AS Java at the same time. The option of a
Java Add-In installation is not any longer available as of the enhancement package 4 for
SAP ERP 6.0. Thus, it is not any longer possible, for example, to add EPC and EP
together with AS Java to an ABAP-only system.
