B575 windows 7 instalation media

I've bought a B575 in 2012 and now, due to some problems, I need to reinstall windows 7 home premium, but I dont have the install disc. Trying to download the ISO files from microsoft, they've told me I should contact Lenovo to claim my copy. I've been trying to contact Lenovo for the past 3 days but I'm just getting put on hold forever. Is there any other way besides calling I can claim my original version of windows?

hi lcampop,
Welcome to the Forums.
If you're looking into reinstalling the Win7 OS, drivers, and preloaded  apps then contacting lenovo Brazil to purchase a copy of the recovery disc should be the way to go.

Alternatively, you can also try to:
-  Follow this guide on how to create a bootable Windows 7 USB Installer
-  When finished, use the installer that you created to install Win7 Home Premium on the B575 machine and use the Windows 7 Product key (usually located at the bottom sitcker of the machine) to activate your copy of Windows..
-  In an event that Windows doesn't activate, follow this guide on how to activate Windows by phone.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 "recovery media" on new Portege R600

I received a new R600 which I had wanted to buy with Windows 7 pre-installed, but the only option is to buy it with XP installed and "Windows 7 recovery media" (2 CDs) comes in the box, with no instructions. I started the computer, and did nothing but name it and choose a screen name; this brought up the desktop. Then I inserted the first of the 2 CDs: nothing. Powered off and started with that CD already in the disk drive: nothing. Called Toshiba tech help (phone seemed to be answered in India) and was instructed to perform several restarts holding down F12 or C: nothing. After a long hold while the tech sought help, was promised a call from his supervisor: so far (that was yesterday) nothing.
Can anyone suggest how I can either solve this issue myself or get some action from Toshiba?

Thanks for your reply. After two more calls to Toshiba Tech Help it turns out that the disc drive is defective (a music CD would not load and play). So I am returning the computer to Toshiba Direct in exchange for a new one.

  • Errors "A media driver your computer needs is missing." or "Windows cannot install required files" upon attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 64-bit

I'm attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 [64-bit]
I am currently being prevented from installing by a "A media driver your computer needs is missing." error, which occurs fairly early in the process. I've interpreted further text in the message as a suggestion that it's a DVD, USB or some other
similar driver issue. However, as I've been able to attempt each install through booting from DVD and USB, I'm not convinced this is the issue.
I'm currently installing to a 128Gb SSD drive. I have installed Windows 10 TP on my laptop's SSD with no issues.
On a few occasions the installation has continue with the installation, and then failed at about 6% with the following error:
"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007045D". I have not removed the installation USB or DVD.
I did not have this issue when installing build 9841, so am currently assuming this is an issue with build 10041.
Apologies if this query has been posed before, a search did not show up this issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for trying to assist!
I attempted removing/deleting partitions and formatting the SSD as part of the install process. I have also tried installing via USB and DVD with the same issues.
As part of the troubleshooting, I attempted to install a different OS. I was able to successfully install Linux Mint 17.1 with no issues. This further solidifies my impression this is an issue with Windows.
I will try a different USB port, appreciate the suggestion, didn't think it would make a different given the various methods already attempted.

  • Install Media for Windows 2000 using MSI

Does Oracle have install media for client installs which uses MSI (Windows 2000 Installation Technology)?
I want to be able to push out installs/upgrades of Oracle client software to Windows 2000 desktops (where some people may or may not have administrative rights on their desktops).

Windows 2000 is not supported, officially reaching the end of it's life in June 2010.
We would recommend that you upgrade to an actively supported version of the Windows operating system.

As a short-term fix, you may be able to run a version of Flash Player 10.3 from the Archives page, which is currently supported with security updates; however, your operating system remains vulnerable as it is no longer maintained from a security perspective.

  • How do I get past the drivers not found problem during Windows 7 install?

I have a brand new (March 2012) MBP running Mac OS 10.7.3 (Lion) with a SuperDrive.  I'm trying to use Boot Disk Assistant to install Windows 7 with a valid Windows 7 DVD burned from an .iso.  I've partitioned the 750 GB HDD with 500 GB for Mac OS and 250 GB for Windows.  The system reboots and starts to install Windows 7.  Then it pops up an error:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.  If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
Of course, I can't eject the Windows setup DVD because the eject button doesn't work so I can insert the Windows Support Software that I downloaded from Apple.  So, I copied the Windows Support Software to a USB drive.
Once I get to this point, I can browse to the USB drive and I get the following file tree:
    Drivers
         Apple
              x64
         Asix
         Atheros
         ATI
         Broadcom

                   SMU
              Win7_32
              Win7_64
         RealTek
The only directory that the installer recognizes as having valid drivers is the Intel > Chipset > WIN7.  When I select all of the drivers listed, the installer acts like it's installing something but then it stops saying that new devices were not found.  I can't get past this point.  The Windows 7 installer will not continue.  If I select any of the other directories, I get the message "No device drivers were found.  Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
Any thoughts?  Admittedly, this is the my first experience dealing with Mac OS and I'm completely out of my league.  However, this is a Windows installation issue and I'm getting hung up on device drivers.  Usually in the PC world, I can easily go to the manufacturer's website and just download the drivers I need directly.

valid Windows 7 DVD burned from an .iso.
Usually burned ISO to DVD only works when burn speed is set to slowest.
Otherwise there are a number of problems with the install failing to do proper install, sometimes not even booting to start the install. Trouble is from using Apple Disk Utility. Burned in Windows, the ISO will be fine. Using Disk Utility at slowest has become "try reburn again at reduced speed."
You can use mouse on startup to eject DVDs but what you want is your drivers later after Windows is installed, and have them on USB flash or something.
you don't need any drivers except in a few cases (MacBook Air that lacks DVD and uses USB-DVDs)

  • Windows 7 Install Problem

I have a Lenovo r61i Thinkpad.  The optical drive was bad so I replaced it with a MAT**bleep**A DVD-RAM UJ-862.  It is thinner than the original drive but the connector is the same and if I add a shim to hold it up it connects.  I believe this is the optical drive used in the T51.
I am running Linux Mint 16 and am trying to install Windows 7 on a virtual machine with Virtualbox.  The install starts,  but, after a little while I get this error message:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now"
When I put the CD for this drive  that containst the drivers etc. that came with the drive the installer scans it but the driver it is looking for is not there. This is actually a brand new drive, however, it is old. I imagine it may not have a Windows 7 driver. Why Windows 7 doesn't have a driver I don't know.
When I go the the Lenovo site for a Windows 7 optical driver for the T61 (because this is the Thinkpad that this drive is for) there isn't one listed.
I when I look around on the web I find different driver download managers, but, I've noticed that the last time I used Windows for any length of time that there were all sorts of formerly reliable sites hosting files that sort of misled you into using their download manager that would install other software and  browser extention malware.  For this reason and the fact that the computer I am using is Linux I chose not to get this.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be.  My install disk is an official disk purchased from a mainline retail store.
Does anyone have any suggestions what the problem is and how to fix it?
    TIA

    Hi,
That error message is often misleading.  It usually means corrupted install media - bad DVD, bad download, bad burn, bad USB media creation.   Sometimes it is because a USB install device (flash or optical drive) should be plugged into a USB 2.0 socket instead of USB 3.0.
What it means when installing from DVD into a VM, I have no idea - just that it probably isn't a missing driver.
You might try copying the DVD and see if it throws an error during the copy.  If it doesn't, try installing from the new DVD.  If it does throw an error then you have a bad original.
You could also try installing from an ISO.  Google "legal Windows 7 download notebook review".

  • Can't boot from Windows XP Install DVD

A couple months ago I wanted to use Boot Camp for the first time to install Windows XP Professional (SP3) on my iMac8,1, but I ran into a lot of trouble. I got a lot of support from you guys but I ended up scratching the mission because of a problem that nobody could help me with at the time (I sought support on IRC, too). I will adduce the links to the threads regarding the issues that were more or less solved at the end of this post.
Today I decided to make a thread here and hope that this time somebody knows what to do, how to solve the weird problem that I'm having when I try to boot from the Windows XP Install DVD right after I partition the hard drive with Boot Camp Assistant.
So when the iMac restarts, after I have inserted the disc, and tries to boot from it, I randomly get one of the following three possibilities on the screen (and nothing happens after it):
    http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/6725/p3201160.jpg
    http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/105/p3201161.jpg
    http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/2076/img0472zt.jpg
I burned the disc myself, so it's not the original disc from Microsoft. I did try re-burning the .iso file multiple times (both with Disk Utility and with the application called Burn), to no avail. The disc works fine with VirtualBox!
Please let me know if you have a possible solution and I will thank you for it greatly!

  • I'm getting "Installer disk not found" message during boot camp 5 and windows 8 install on late 2011 MBP upgraded to Mavericks.

    hello,
    And thank you in advance.
I'm getting "Installer disk not found" message during boot camp 5 and windows 8 install on late 20011 MBP upgraded to OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Any ideas?
I've downloaded the Window support option software and the WindowSetupBox.exe and copied it to the USB drive. I tried to create an iso image from my Windows XP machine but recieved messages that Windows 8.1 could not run on XP.  I've ordered the Windows 8.1 backup media.
    Any way to proceed?
    Thanks  Tim

    download the win 8 iso from here;

then start over. install on to your usb along with the support software.

  • Need to create, build, or obtain the Windows 7 INSTALLATION media, not the recovery stuff

I want to be able to install Windows 7 on a Thinkpad WITHOUT all the factory installed stuff.  I DO NOT NEED the recovery image "solution" that comes preinstalled on the laptop.  I need to be able to create a clean Windows 7 installtion that we can image and deploy without the preloaded stuff.
Basically, is there a way, and if so, how do I create a Windows 7 INSTALLATION  media, not the recovery stuff? If this can't be done, do I need to purchase the media from Lenovo?  An example of what I'm looking for:  Dell makes it very easy to do this. You can create the Windows 7 installation media. Just like the Windows XP and 2000 CD/DVD's they used to ship.
I have searched and can't find anything the addresses this.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm taking a guess that you're looking for a vanilla Win 7 installer download.  As sarbin said, if that's not your issue, please start another thread.  (At least this will update that stale link - for a while.)
The content in that link got pulled a while back.
Here's a fresher link that still works (for how long, who knows...)  Even includes SP1.
Default Legal Download: Windows 7 with SP1, 13 languages
These are Microsoft installer DVD ISOs that still require activation.  If you choose one that matches the COA on the target machine (home premium, pro, ultimate), they can be activated with that COA.  it will require phone activation.

  • FYI...Bootcamp 4.0 and Windows 8 installed without any problems.

After upgrading to OS X Lion, I formatted the Windows 7 partition on my MacBook Pro.  I downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview and created an install disk.  I had to insert the disk and boot to OS X, then select the DVD as the startup disk.  A re-start booted to the Windows install screen.  Windows 8 installed, then I ran the Bootcamp 4.0 drivers from a flash drive.  Everything is working just fine...Hope this helps.

Because it does not work properly for me, am wondering if you have tried to create a shortcut to Desktop for your internet connection.
I right-click to disable the connection when not using it, and to enable as required and to see status. This has worked in all previous Windows versions including Windows 8 Developer Preview. I have put the question to http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/w8itpro but gotten no answer.
The way to get a shortcut is to right click the network icon next to sound in the task bar, selecting Open Networking & sharing. When there, select change adapter settings. In resulting screen, right-click your active internet icon & select Create shortcut - answer yes to get it to desktop.
You can drag it to taskbar to keep desktop clear. My problem is that while right click option allows disable, with next right click there is no enable in popup so I have to select open file location and left click adapter to enable it.
Wondered if it might be related to Bootcamp, Apple drivers somehow.
Otherwise everything is fine and TV with set top box works in Windows Media Center which is one up on Windows 7 Pro.

  • Disk utility on install media

    Hello,
When using the Disk utility on W7 SP1 install media to partition and format the HDD, unlike Windows built-in Disk Management utility it creates a 200MB partition that some boot files are placed with and/or by BitLocker. I have always avoided this issue but,
a friend has deleted W7 x86 SP1 with an older vs of GParted and on the phone told me it can't deal with the "Unallocated Mystery" space as he calls it. I assume the 200MB partition is hidden from Windows Explorer and I'm assuming the partition does
not start/end (whatever) like a 512 byte block does and it's a 4096 sized block like W7 reportedly makes, I'm not sure how it works exactly. Is that partition an MBR, 512e, or a 4Kn?. I know Disk Management can handle GPT types of partitions, that are 512e
(GUID) I'm guessing. (maybe both) I've used the stand alone GParted but never dealt with the 200MB partition. I need some info before helping him on team viewer or on the phone
    thanks

    Hello michael_clyde,
Do you mean that you have 200MB partition in the Windows 7?
Please share us a screenshot about disk management for better analyzation.
Based on my knowledge, the 200MB partition can be Windows RE partition.
Please take a look at the following article about understanding Disk Partitions.

I downloaded a PDF file about a week ago and am stumped on how i can make it play. it is a PDF with audio clips to help learn a language. the file opens fine but whenever i click the audio it says "acrobat has encountered an error while playing this media clip: Adobe's Windows built in media player cannot play this format as the required decoder is not installed on the system. " i googled and came to a few differrent threads on this site, someone said they resolved it with quicktime, so i got quicktime... no use. then someone else said its a problem with "legacy media" and id have to go into my preferences in adobe and allow it, i didnt see an option to "allow" but i saw one where i could pick how i wanted to play it (quicktime, windows built in, windows media player, and i think one more) i tried with all of them and still no luck. i really .want this file to play, but since i am not tech savvy, i am stumped as what i can do next. please help

    What is your Reader version?
Do you have any Codecs installed on your system?

  • Windows 7, CS4 Media Encoder freezing and crashing upon clicking "Start Queue" - every sequence!

Windows 7, CS4 Media Encoder freezes when queue starts with sequences from Premiere. However, sequences opened from Media Encoder's "Add Sequence" export fine. Have re-installed (without first un-installing), issue is ongoing. I have several important deadlines fast approaching, please help! Media cache has been cleared (both automatically and manually), computer has been defragged and scanned for disk errors... I am absolutely stumped!

I've checked the anti-virus (I didn't think of that!), but it doesn't seem to make any change.
I've had Window Task Manager running while trying to export, it would seem that the problem occures when PProHeadless.exe opens. If I manually close it right before clicking "Start Queue", AME doesn't freeze until PProHeadless.exe re-starts once more.
Any information on forums regarding PProHeadless.exe seem more to do with an error message, not that the application itself is causing problems. I've tried multiple different sequences, all with different footage, different types of files and all with the same result.
Would a complete reformat or Windows and CS4 be the only answer? I dread the thought but I'm getting desperate.

  • Adobe Capture 3.0 install media and license

    Hi,
    Seriously need some help here.
We have a custoemr that used Adobe Captire 3.0 as part of a scanning solution that worked with Kofax, an old version.
We are currently redeploying this oriignal solution but the client has misplaced the media and we really need it.
Is there any way that Adobe can give me a pointer to the install media for Capture 3.0 (has to be this version to integrate with our code) and some form of license, perhaps this can be checked against the original purchase?
Any and all advice appreciated in advance
