Background job data display

Hello all,
I created a small program to give me a total record count for my huge table and ran it in the background. It ran for hours and finally did finish but i dont know where to retrieve the information of how many records were counted in total. So i created another program to read a very small table of 2000 records and scheduled it in the background. This one ran almost instantly but i couldnt get any record count from this one either. What do I need to do to actually see my record count.
Heres my program: Please tell me what am I missing , should i store it somewhere and can someone please actually give me the code if mine needs to be adjusted or added.
DATA: count LIKE sy-tabix.
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table INTO count.

Inso what you are saying is I will a 'number of records in table' next to Date Time Message text Message class Message no. & Message type.
Anyways if it works, i will update you for sure, most likely on the weekend.

U can use the FM 'BP_JOBLOG_READ' for the aborted jog to get their status log..then u can send this log to the user via mail.

How to delete Background job

hi all,
i am working on ECC6.0.
i am not able to find the path to delete background job completly.

To delete a background job explicitly, use:
BP_JOB_SELECT to obtain the jobname and job number of the job that you wish to delete.
You can select jobs according to all of the criteria available in the interactive background processing management system:
Jobname: Using a well-planned naming convention for your jobs will help you to select them precisely.
Job number
Name of the user who scheduled a job
Specifications for the start-time window/no start time scheduled
Start dependent upon predecessor jobs
Start dependent upon an event and event argument
Job status (preliminary, scheduled, ready, running, finished, aborted).
BP_JOB_DELETE to delete the job. The job log is deleted as well, if the job has already been run.
A job cannot delete itself. Also, a job that is currently running cannot be deleted. However, you can have it deleted automatically if it is completed successfully. See the DELANFREP parameter of JOB_OPEN.
Sample Program: Deleting a Background Job

Facing Problem in Batch Job Date

Hi,,
I would be great if anyone helps me on this. The background job for invoice printing is taking few days late. Pls check the system background job date.
eg. invoice date 17 march, but it only get printed on 19 march.

Background Job Still Running - Data Can Be Displayed Only Msg Populated in Maintain Versions (OKEQ) Screen

Hi,
I try to create 2013 FY in "Setting for Each FY" in OKEQ - Maintain Versions unfortunately I have created Null FY, try to delete Null FY on the time it will ask Job schedule, I have cancelled the job & reopen Maintain Versions (OKEQ) screen on the time system populated the msg "Background Job still running - Data can be displayed only"
In Settings for Each FY screen there is no New Entries button, all FY are blocked status, changes was not allowed.
How can I resolve it.

Yes you are correct, on the time of deletion it will ask Background Job Process, for immediate deletion must & should select "NO".
While "Settings for Each FY" screen populates message "Background Job Still Running - Data Can Be Displayed Only" open screen in display mode enter the command "=KILL" in command bar press enter, then you will allow to changes get New Entries button also.

ALV list display in a Background job - Spool output

Hi,
We are currently working on a report scheduled to be run in the background job, and the ALV list is displayed in the spool output.
ALV list in the spool does not look the same as front run job, the column headers are all crowded together, and there is no grid in-between different columns or rows. It's hard to read.
Is there a way to add grid for this kind of output?

Data capturing in background job scheduling

I hava a specific requirement in background job scheduling.
in my layout i have to show <b>pagenumber / total number of page numbers.</b>
for that iam useing a variable with value '$$$' and iam replacing this variable with total number of pages..
when we run in foreground it is working fine. but in background the variable is not being replaced..

How to get data from the called program using SUBMIT in a background job?

Hi Experts,
I've a program which creates a background job using JOB_OPEN and JOB_CLOSE function modules.
Between the above function modules I need to call a program using SUBMIT VIA JOB statement.
My problem is, How do I fetch some data in an internal table in the called program to the calling program after the SUBMIT statement?
I tried to EXPORT and IMPORT the data, but they are giving a failed sy-subrc when using this background job.
Kindly let me know your inputs and valuable suggestions.

When we execute a program as a background job then the output will be sent to Spool which needs to be fetched again.I guess we need to use Submit via spool as mentioned by Rajat.

Background job not updating data for some steps of program

We have created a custom program and submitting the standard program RPRCCC_READ_KR1025
which is used for conversion of AMEX credit card files.
Since this program can update data for 1 company id at a time,we have created a background job
for that program with 10 steps and 10 variants of data related to 10 different company codes.
when this job is executed it is not updating data for all the 10 files , sometimes it updates 5,7,etc...
If we execute the other files which didnt update in job manually they are getting updated.
All the files executed with that program can be seen in PRTA transaction.

Edit: Solved.
Since the standard program updates the database every time with commit work
there should be some time until the next database update,so we can use wait command
after the submit statement which will do the trick.

Format of Date Field in RAR background job history page

Is it possible to customize the format of the fileds: "last run", "next start" in RAR background job history page?
By default it is in the format yyyy-mm-dd.
I am just wondering my customer's requirement is possible or not?

Hi,
There is no option to set the date format in the Configuration settings. Check the FM /VIRSA/ZCC_GET_STATREC_DATA which has the CALL FUNCTION 'GET_SYSTEM_TIMEZONE'. RAR will read the time from the system.
You may look at formatting the the date format here.

Background Job cancelling with error Data does not match the job definition

Dear Team,
Background Job is getting cancelled when I run a Job on periodically but the same Job is executing perfectly when I run it manually(repeat scheduling) .
Let me describe the problem clearly.
We have a program which picks up files from an FTP server and posts the documents into SAP. We are scheduling this program as a background Job daily. This Job is running perfectly if the files contain no data. But if the file contains data the JOb is getting cancelled with the following messages.
And also the same Job is getting executed perfectly when repeat scheduling is done ( even for files with data).

it is showing the following error messege for perticular date range- 01.01.2009 to 30.01.2009.

Hi,
Did you put the date fields to be dynamic in your variant? i.e if in your variant you specified date range of last year, this will not work for this year and eventually give you an error message that the date is not valid...

One of our user is scheduling background job, He need the output to his external Email ID.
user required that Job result output should be displayed in Email body, Not in attachment.
We have tried but job result received in email as HTML (or) PDF file attachment, But he wants output in Email body itself.

Displaying report output in email body is not available as a standard feature. Also doing a custom development would be very cumbersome .
