Background Job table

Hi All,
I am new to ABAP. as per our client requirement we need to call background job though a abap code.
How can we retrive background jobs? where/in which tabl are names of backghround job saved?

hi,
if i have understood you can try this:
1) create a custom event with transaction SM62.
2) schedule the update job ( with the update program in its step ) trigging the event set in (1) .
3) execute the program that upload the local file from presentation server to application server . The last istruction of this program has to be the call ot the custom event using BP_event raise fn module in the uplaoad is ok..
4) if the event has been raised, the background job has been executed.

Change internal table values in background job

Hello All,
Currently we have a report which is running in background job.
Because of error in one PO (error in header status), the job is getting cancelled in production.
Is there any way, we can exclude this PO in debugging from the internal table.
The report should run in background, the requirement is exclude the PO from internal table and the background process should run as normal after excluding that PO.
Please advise how to do this.

Thanks for your replies.
I found the following way to debug the background job helpful. Go to SM37, select the job name and do as shown below. Once you click Capture: Active job, debugger will open and we can analyze from there further.

Background job error No appropriate entry found in table ADRT

Hi,
I have developed a report to sent mail in background. My background job is getting cancelled in background. but it runs in foreground.I have used leave to transaction statement in my report.
In my development server job cancellation occurs.but mails are being sent.whereas in production server job cancellation ocurrs but mails are not sent.
It shows the below error also...

I don't see how either of those replies are helpful...
To the OP, you haven't given much information. That's a custom program but the failure is being triggered most likely by your attempt to generate the email by the standard code. You need to get the error message ID and number from the log and find the codepoint (from a where-used analysis or debug) and analyze the condition that's triggering the message. Most likely, it's a simple fix - there appears to be a missing remakrk entry but sometimes those messages are misleading and the message issued isn't actually the problem.

there is no table which contains the "time duration of the job" you have to calculate on the fly the by taking the (SY-UZEIT - TBTCO-STRTIME) * 60
(Current time - Start time ) * 60 = xxx Seconds

Multiple background jobs to fill set-up tables in LO

Hi,
Can we schedule multiple background jobs for filling the same set-up table concurrently - obviously with non-overlapping selections.
ex: one background job for filling order# 1000 to 100,000
one background job for filling order#100,001 to 200,000
Both jobs running at same time.

Yes we can Schedule Multiple Setup Jobs for the same Application wiht the Diff Ranges of selections.
It is possible and i have tried in our project.
Egg:-
We did a Reload of some doc that were missing in BI.
Did selective deletion of those corrupted data in some Data targetsand filled the Setup tables wiht those selection conditions (in our case 10 diff selection).
We ran this jobs in Background simultaniously when all the jobes finished we have ran the Full Repair Requests of those 10 selections to those respective data targets.

Actually background job executed by me creates 2 spool requests
table - tbtcpv holds only the 1 spool

Table TBTCP has the Spool Request field PLIST field as well as Jobname JOBNAME field in it. Youc an link them together.

Problems creating background job for program (job open, submit and close)

Hi gurus,
im trying to start a background job using the FM BP_START_DATE_EDITOR to show the start date to the job or if it's imediate. this FM it's working fine, after call it im opening a job, submiting it and call the job close FM and the job close FM creates me the job.
The problem it's when i go to the sm37 to see the job status the job has been canceled, and the job log says that i have to give a start date to the job.
What i dont understand it's either the job is imediate or i choose a date to start the job always gives me this error...

In debug mode, check the value of variables you passed to parameters sdlstrtdt and sdlstrttm.
As aditional info, I usually achieve your goal without FM BP_START_DATE_EDITOR.

BWREMOTE background job canceled in sap r/3 system

Thanks for your help ahead.
Today I checked the background job in SAP R/3 created by BWREMOTE via SM37. It showed me some jobs had been canceled.
I displayed its log, the detail message is:

Next, I opened the 'project management of sap enhancement' via CMOD, entering the project name and chosing 'Display'.

I found that we got a TPR00 during concatenation. In other words, day_temp+6(2) = 00. But I think it is impossible. I can not explain this.

it seems something got deleted between 'and' and '(itab)'... so, you'll have to recheck the requirements for your select to fill the 'and' statement further.
so, it should look like

I assume something like (otherwise it would be really weird to select that field):
cond = i_not_shfgrp-zzschkz.
or a formula using the i_not_shfgrp-zzschkz field.
It would also be a lot better to replace your select ... endselect by a select single as you'll be selecting 1 record only anyways.

How to find Spool number for a 2 steps background job.

Hi All,
How to find spool number (and also the background job name ) for a 2 steps background job.
in the table TBTCO i can see step numbers but i dont get the spool number. Is there any link between TBTCO and TSP01.
Also after getting the spool number i need to drill down on ALV report. I hard coded the spool number and was able to drill down using BDC and call transaction but when i press back button it is not returning to the ALV report.

Which one creates the spool? (first one I guess)
What kind of spool? (WRITE, sapscript, smartform, pdf...)
Do you use special statements like NEW-PAGE, or other things?
Are you sure that the spools are generated by these jobs? (did you compare the spool generation times and job run dates to be sure...)
