Are you sure you have a 3rd gen ipod touch?
If you have the 8gb, then I believe that is a 2nd gen.

how do you get that thing behind the apps like a background my teacher has it and i dont know how to get it

From page 30 of the iOS 4.1 users manual
    Adding Wallpaper
You can set an image or photo as wallpaper for the Lock screen. On iPod touch 3rd
generation or later, you can also set wallpaper for your Home screen. You can choose an
image that came with iPod touch, or a photo synced to iPod touch from your computer.
Set wallpaper (iPod touch 3rd generation or later):
1 In Settings, choose Wallpaper, tap the image of the Lock and Home screens, then tap
    Wallpaper or an album.
2 Tap to choose an image or photo. If you chose a photo, drag to position it and pinch to
zoom in or out, until it looks the way you want.
3 Tap Set, then choose whether you want to use the photo as wallpaper for your Lock
    Screen, Home screen, or both.

  • How to remove Wallpaper showing behind apps?

    Hi
Just updated to OS 4 and the wallpaper now shows up behind the apps continually.
Any ideas how to get rid of and get back to a plain black background?
    Thanks for any help....

By doing this will you also lose the picture that you have at start up or just behind the icons? I'd like to leave my picture when the phone is locked, I just prefer the icon background be black.
No, you can have a separate background for your front picture and behind your icons. Go to Settings->Wallpaper and when you select one and save it, it will ask you where you want it to go.

  • Happy New Year, My Background Wallpaper is gone??

Okay, so I have no idea why, but the first thing I noticed when I turned on my MBA on the morning of Jan. 1, 2011 was that I had the Apple Mac standard background wallpaper instead of the photo that I had selected when I first set-up my new MBA a month ago or more. It was easy to put the photo back, but I will forever wonder what caused this to occur. Any thoughts?

    HI WiseJD
That happened to me once. Never got to the bottom of it, but then I didn't look. One of those odd things I suppose. Not seen before on any other Mac
Not a lot of help I know, but at least you know you are not alone....

  • Is there a way to remove the blurred background wallpaper effect when using the phone in iPhone 4S' iOS 7?

    Hello.
A few nights ago, my picky client finally upgraded his iPhone 4S' iOS 6 to iOS 7. He doesn't like the blurred background wallpaper image when using the phone feature (e.g., calling and talking). Is there a way to disable this new visual effect like in iOS 6?  I am pretty sure this is by design by Apple.
    Thank you in advance.

I will tell him about that, but I don't think that would be it if that is related to animation.
We're talking about the wallpaper background that get blurry during the phone screens like http://www.tekrevue.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/20130923_ios7emergencycallfla w.jpg (left side) and http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim2/2013/09/20/ChangingYourTheme.png ... You can see there are background images that got blurred out.

    To Change the Backdrop
    1. Run xv (version 3.10 or later) on any desired image.
    2. Save the file as "XPM". Rename the file from <>.xpm to <>.pm.
    3. Edit the file /opt/SUNWut/kiosk/prototypes/dtsession/Dtwm and change
the two backdrop lines to the full pathname of the <>.pm file.
You can also place the <>.pm file in /usr/dt/share/backdrops and then
refer to it by <> in the Dtwm file.

You need to post your question in the Apple Developer Forums

  • .. If the app is – in or out of background - (if in background NOT the first app) and the  device locked – when you get a push message and DO NOT response straight away. Later  unlock, click the app icon (which will have a badge on it) and it fails.

Including if you tap the messaeg from app centre. (this is all on a iPod 5.1.1).

  • Background wallpaper keeps reverting

    Background wallpaper keeps reverting.
I have an external 24in 1080p monitor attached to my late 2014 15in rMBP via a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. The background wallpaper I have chosen on my external monitor reverts to one of the standard Yosemite backgrounds (Yosemite 3 to be precise) after a few sleeps or restarts. This is getting to be very annoying as any other wallpaper even another default one just does not stick. I am very computer savvy but this is my first Mac and I'm surprised to be having this problem. Any help at all would be awesome, Thanks!

    1. If you log in automatically, a bug in some versions of OS X will cause the desktop picture to revert to the default image at every startup. The only known workaround is to disable automatic login in the Users & Groups preference pane.
    2. If the selected Desktop picture is stored in an iPhoto library on an external drive, export it from iPhoto and move it to a folder on the startup volume. (Credit for this solution to ASC member janay.)
    3. If the desktop picture always reverts to a plain blue background, one of your login items may be causing the problem. The "TeamViewer" application can have this effect; see this thread. If it's not that in your case, rule out all other third-party login items as possible causes.
    4. If you have a MacBook Pro with automatic graphics switching, disable it temporarily in the Energy Saver preference pane, set the Desktop picture, then restart the computer and re-enable graphics switching.
    5. If none of the above applies to you, proceed as follows.
    Back up all data.
In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
              Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
              Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following items to the Desktop, if they exist:
              Application Support/Dock/desktoppicture.db
              Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the items you moved to the Desktop back where they came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the items.
