Backup jobs and password changing problem

Hi
I have created few rman job in my db (11.2) to backup database.
I my company i have to change all system passwords (os - oracle, system, syman, etc...) every 90 days.
When i changing password for user who created backup jobs, this jobs stop working.
I,ve got "Invalid username and/or passworderror writing input to command" error.
Of course after changing passords i always setup "Preferred Credentials" but that dosn't help.
What am i doing wrog? What am i missing ?
Please advice.

If you use Preferred Credentials to authorize a Job, it will use the current credentials on the moment it is dispatched for execution.
This means that in case passwords changes, you just need to modify you preferred credentials
This is something you can do using EMCLI (command line interface) in a script for instance (or just use the GUI to modify)

Hi everybody, we have some problems with SSGD, active directory and password change
Scenario:
We have 2 different perfectly working Active directory called "Gruppo" and "Eracle";
We have 2 different tarantella installations called "Sgd" and "Tlv";
Sgd servers are working servers and users authenticate against Eracle, used by our customer.
We made 2 basic different test with Tlv:
1. we configure Tlv to authenticate users against Gruppo (that is our real need)---> we can't change pasword using kpasswd or ttakpasswd
2. we configure Tlv to authenticate users against Eracle ---> everything was ok
There are NO DIFFERENCE beetween Sgd and Tlv, they have same configuration, same krb5.conf etc..
There is ONE DIFFERENCE beetween Eracle and Gruppo:
Eracle Active Directory's properties:
Domain functional level: Windows 2000 mixed
Forest functional level: Windows 2000
Gruppo Active Directory's properties:
Domain functional level: Windows 2000 native
Forest functional level: Windows 2000
SSGD documentation doesn't speak about different Active Directory properties. The SSGD documentation says that you can authenticate users against Active directory, so, IT HAS TO WORK even if the domain functional level of active directory is different.

I am able to make a sqlplus connection, but your hint send me in the correct direction. I had a special character "@" in the password and I think that was the reason for my problems with RMAN.

AD Password Change Problem

Hi,
We are using a number of Intel based OSX 10.4 machines bound to a Windows 2003 Forest / Domain.
We have run into a problem where users are unable to change there AD passwords using the Access applet from within System Prefs, it gives an error about a possible policy problem. I have tried doing the same thing using the Kerberos utility which gives similar results. If we set a user account to force the password to be changed the next login it works which is puzzling. Password changes are working without problem from within our Windows environment.
I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on the matter?

WEBDAV FILE SYSTEM, user name and password changed

Getting prompt as follows, WebDAV File System Authentication,

User name and password were changed recently by Mobile Me, now either or neither
are being recognized by prompt. Constant reminders every few minutes since upgrading Safari two day ago....I am going buggy with prompts...have tried every possible configuration. Is there a way to enter new access area to enter new username and password?

IPod touch stolen and passwords changed but I'm concerned about the saved emails.

My ipod touch got stolen and I changed all my passwords to emails and accounts. If the stealer tries to open up the email account will the ipod touch automatically delete all the already downloaded emails or will those downloaded emails always be there?

Unless you remotely wiped the iPod, the alrady downloaded email are viewable on the iPod if they can get past your screen-lock.
If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feater (Setting>iCloud) and wif is on you may be able to wipe the iPod by going to icloud.com, loging in and going to FindMyiPhone,

Streaming videos and password prompt problem...

Hi there,
So I have been trying to watch the latest Apple keynote stream from the Quicktime page but every time I try to watch it, it asks me for my University library username and password. Why is it asking me for this stuff? I havent entered the information yet because it seems completely out of place to be asked for it when I want to watch an Apple stream.
I am not currently connected to the University network in any way right now and I havent connected to it in that particular way (proxy server) in a very long time.
I have cleared all of the old proxy settings and I have also tried deleting all of the .plist files for quicktime with no luck.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

IWeb Url Username and Password protection problem

After renewing a GoDaddy site and re-forwarding an already created iWeb site, I now get a .Mac required User Name and Password. What happened.? I just re-forwarded the url string that was already there on my .mac server.

I am no expert but I just did a web site as well. If you want to protect it in IWEB click on your welcome page and at the bottom of the page you have a menu selection click on the icon for the inspector. looks like an italizised I then click over the menu option at the top of that that says password. you should be able to do it that way. good luck marty

End user and password change

Hi.
I have a small application running on 3.0.
I created 10 end-users with a dummy password as "not developers" and "not administrators". Further I marked for change password at next logon.
However, users are able to logon using the the link from the logout page directly into the application without changing the password. Also, the "FIRST_PASSWORD_USE_OCCURED" = N in table wwv_flow_fnd_user.
Change_password_on_first_use is Y.
Anyone seen this before?

Alex,
Connect as the Application Express product schema, e.g., FLOWS_030000 for version 3.0. Unlock this account first if it is locked or simply connect as SYS and alter session set current_schema=flows_030000. Then:
select value from wwv_flow_platform_prefs where name='MAX_LOGIN_FAILURES';
That should show the 9999999... value. You can update that row with a new value.
We'll look into fixing this problem. Thanks for the info.

BADI n-step SC approval - Approval Index and Data Change Problems

Dear forum gurus,
We are implementing SRM 5.0 (SRM SERVER 5.5 SP 9) in Extended classic. I am developing the BADI's to use the n-step SC approval workflow WS14000133.
Our approval process is as follows:
1. Cost Centre approver (based on CC with the largest value in the SC)
2. Financial approver (based on the total value of the SC)
I have done this now and it works as long as every step is approved!
I have implemented the BADI 'BBP_WFL_EMPL_WI_BADI' - method 'CHECK_REQUESTER_WI' to send back any changes to the cost centre to the shopper to review. The standard also sends back total value changes to the shopper in the same way.
My problem is that if the main CC or the total value of the SC are changed, the logic goes back to the shopper and then if the shopper 'Accepts changes', the logic skips the first apporver again and goes directly to the second (financial approver).
I think there are 2 options:
1. After the shopper accepts chnages, to restart the WF so a new WF template is generated. Then my logic will show the new CC and FI approvers again.
2. I change my logic in the 'GET_REMAING_APPROVERS' method so the apporval index is not assumed to be 1 or 2 only. I guess I will have to work with logic to read the history and apporval index, but this seems very complex.
Option 1 - I can't get this to work. After the shopper accepts changes I can't get the WF to restart in the 'BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI'.
Has anyone fixed this?
Option 2 - The logic for checking apporval index and apporval history tables seems to me very complex. Has anyone done this and can they explain the logic to me if so? The problem here is that the sample code for this BADI assumes the approval indexis always 1 for the first step and 2 for the second step, but this is not the case!

I feel setting the parameter BBP_WFL_SECURITY for the Approver should do the trick.i.e. Restart the workflow adn the same approval process should be followed again.So plese adjust the value of this parameter for the Approver role in trascn PFCG.Also if you want to overwrite the settings of this paramtere(as maintained in PFCG),you can implement the BADI "BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI".

Adobe flash 10.3 and resolution change problem

I can't seem to understand the logic behind this.
In some games, changing resolution to 1920x1080, or even starting the game from a launcher. (mw2, 3dmark vantage, etc) i end up with a blank black screen.
Takes about 5 minutes to wait until i get my desired resolution up, and get picture.
[My config is:Benq GL2240 22" , E7200 ,- HD6670 (same with HD4850) ,-Win 7 x64 (same with x32) -Up to date drivers, Catalyst 10.5 and later 10.8]
So what i figured?
I had this crazy notion, that i would remove adobe flash 10.3 for a possible downgrade, since switching to fullscreen on yt videos took about 1 second (which is kinda slow imo)
Next up, i downloaded and installed Flash version 9,0,277,0
Guess what happened?
All my troubles are gone, switching resolution takes a half second, and no problems in games whatsoever.
Hardware acceleration still works on youtube, the picture isnt as sharp as it used to be with 10.3 but what the heck, i'll just watch hd clips where it doesn't count anyway.
So put your thoughts on this one.
Since i couldn't find any info referring to this problem, i'll be the first.
Obviously something is very wrong here.

That's very odd that your Modern Warfare and 3dMark launch times were impacted by Flash Player. I've never heard or seen this before. Would you be willing to do a dxdiag report for us and create a new bug over at bugbase.adobe.com? We'd be happy to check this out.

I have been receiving lots of spam emails from my own account recently and now it seems someone has changed my btinternet password.
Any ideas on what I can do?
I have contacted support via another email address. Anything else I can do?

Sorry to hear of the bother you are having.
I have various shortcuts via a link below, options 3/3a, 24a/b and lots of others.
A security answer is needed in order to alter the security settings (my link 24a), however most people probably chose their mother's maiden name, which with social networking sites (and indeed things like friendsreunited etc), it's not hard to get that. I recommend using something else - even if it is in response to that question.

You might like to see if you can remember giving any details away in response to a phish email, made sure that your OS is up to date as well as any security products. Also if you use the same information to login to various sites, it might be prudent to revisit them and alter the passwords, different ones. Alternatively use a different login for each site you have access to.

Data element and domain change problem

Hi Gurus!
I changed a Key figure's domain in our system.
The users would like the Key figure with 5 decimal places, but there was only 3 decimal places.
I did the changes based on this document:

Everything is fine in our develop system.
But when I transport the changes to our test system, there are some error messages after the transport.
The transport's return code is 8.
The error messages are:
InfoObject ZIND (or ref.) used in InfoProvider with data managmnt.-> Error:
InfoObject ZIND: Decimal places was changed from 000003 to 000005
InfoObject ZIND being used in InfoCube ZPCA_R01 (contains data)
I don't want to delete any datas from the cube (this will be critical in our productive system).
I tried to activate the Key figure and the cube, I tried "Activate and adjust database" option in trn. SE14, but nothing helped.
Do you have any alternate ideas?
