hello,
i getting the following error message in event id while backing up my SQL db by third party backing tool
BackupVirtualDeviceFile::RequestDurableMedia: Flush failure on backup device 'CA_BAB_MSSQL_e85860_10001_2085d987_ERP_DATABASE_ST_1'. Operating system error 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.).
<Data>995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.)
please suggest the solution.

Hi pulkit,
According to your description, the actual error could be caused by but not limited to the following issues: Memory issues, Third Party issues, or SQL Server issues and so on. However, as shanky post, if you use an external or third party backup tool like
NetBackup, BackupExec, or one of the many other tools available for backing up SQL Server databases without having to write your own backup scripts, and the error occurs. You need to check if there are some issues about your VDI or SQLVDI.DLL. Meanwhile,
you also need to troubleshooting Memory Issue or the third tool issue. For more information about troubleshooting the error 995 when backing up database via the third party tool. You can review the following blog.
https://support.software.dell.com/kb/SOL14674
In addition, the error may include additional text from the operating system indicating that the disk is full. When performing a backup or restore operation with third-party backup software an additional message may occur indicating that the backup failed.
Perform the following tasks as appropriate:
 1. Review the underlying system error messages and SQL Server error messages preceding this one to identify the cause of the failure.
 2. Ensure that the backup and restore medium has sufficient space.
 3. Correct any errors raised by third-party backup and restore software.
There is also detail about backing up database via T-SQL statement /GUI, you can review the following article.

    Hi,
We have been getting the below error while restoring a database onto SQL Server 2008. We are using lite speed and performing a full restore. When we restart the server, the restore is completed cleanly but every 3 or 4 days once, the restore is failing.
We have tried everything from installing a patch that was supposed to fix it but it is not.
    Error Message:
BackupIoRequest::ReportIoError: read failure on backup device 'VDI_7D17E958-2468-45A8-B7F0-EB73D0BF0F3A_3'. Operating system error 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.).
The backup is getting validated successfully but failing while trying to read it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sree

    Hello,
I would try to get the latest update for the LiteSpeed software, based on the following thread:

I am trying to print wirelessly from my ipad to an epson stylus SX438W. The connection appears fine on both devices but the ipad cannot connect to the printer. It has been working fine for the past 4 months. Can anyone help?

Have you tried restarting the printer? Reboot the iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • TS1424 My Apple id has been disabled. I am not able to download any applications and also my old apps which I had downloaded I cannot use on any apple device of mine. Can someone help

My current apple id has been disabled. When I download any apps I keep getting an error
" APPLE ID HAS BEEN DISABLED"
I have contacted Genuis Bar and they restored my iphone to the factory setting and all of my old apps which I had on my machine are also gone. They did an icloud backup restore but that also does not allow any apples to be added to my Apple device - Iphone.
They gave me a spare phone to check if my phone was corrupted and no that is not the case.
My apple id has been corrupted. How do I contact Itunes to fix the issue.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
When your account becomes disabled, Apple provides the following recommendation:
"This message means that someone tried and failed to sign in to your account multiple times. The Apple ID system disables the account to prevent unauthorized people from gaining access to your information. You need to reset your password, following the instructions at the Apple ID website".
Visit iForgot.com and follow the instructions there.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support

  • This device has been stopped because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I can't connect my ipad with usb. please help....

    Hi,
In my opinion, since system threw the error message: "Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems." There is two possible reason of this problem:
    1. Driver compatibility problem, however, it's hard to make troubleshoot and fix this problem.
    2. Driver installed problem, we can resolve this problem by uninstall the problematic driver and reinstall a new version. You can follow the steps of the link below to reinstall the driver:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725873(v=ws.10).aspx
In addition, it would be better to use driver verifier to check current graphic card driver compatibility.

  • How do I stop a copy of backup files? Time Machine filled my extern HD, I bought a 2TB, drag and drop the old backup files and now my iMac has been stuck in "preparing copy" mode all night.

My 235 MB external HD was full, I bought a new 2TB and dragged and dropped the old backup files to it. Now my iMac is frozen in "preparing copy" mode.  How can I 'unfreeze' it? How should I move the backup files from one external HD to the other?

This has been answered here so may times (especially by pondini, e.g. in this thread Time Machine stuck in repeating "preparing files" cycle), so please search this forum the next time before asking such a question.

  • Support for Canon M80 backup device

I have a Canon M80 backup device that I have used in the past with a mac that had OSX 10.4 but I have since purchased a new computer that came with OSX 10.5 which does not appear to support the M80. Problem is that I just got back from 7 weeks of shooting and I need to import the pictures in to aperture but the OS is not mounting the backup device.
Does anyone have any tricks that I could try to make this work
    Thanks

    Thanks John,
Very interesting.  I already tried to request a change using the feature request form but it wouldn't let me log in for some reason.
I just now tried the first thing you suggested (changing the driver to "legacy") and surprizingly it works well enough to recognize my camera as a capture device now.  Unfortunately, it does not show video in the capture window but it is capturing HDV video.  I am good with that!  I really want to see how well the software burns high def footage to standard DVD's.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Backing up .mdf's and .ldf's using hard drive backup utility deleting SQL Server backup devices...

I am a software developer using Windows 8.1, Visual Studio 2013, and SQL Server 2014. I have a number (30+) of SQL Server databases that I use in my development and support activities.
Every time I run a backup (full or incremental) all of the backup devices in my instance of SQL Server 2014 are being deleted. I can add them all back in (a time-consuming and irritating process after about the 5th time), and the very next time I run either
the Acronis Backup and Paragon Hard Drive Backup against the volume (D:) that contains all of the .mdf and .ldf files, all of the backup devices are again deleted.
I hope someone can give me some idea of how to get around this problem or how to eliminate it completely.  Should I not be using these types of backup utilities to copy the .mdf's and .ldf's?  I've just never seen backup devices be deleted from SQL
Server.  I have dumped the contents of the backup devices data within SQL Server and the rows are definitely gone after the either of the backups run.
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this problem. It is very time-consuming and seems pretty silly to me -- but it's happening nonetheless.

The last backup location you use is never stored in sys.backup_devices.  That's an instance-wide table for registering shared backup locations, mosly for tape backups in the old days.
Per-database backup history is stored in msdb, and AFAIK the database backup dialog in SSMS is pre-populated with a location from msdb.  It looks like it runs this query
    exec sp_executesql N'SELECT
    bkpmf.media_family_id AS [ID],
    bkpmf.family_sequence_number AS [FamilySequenceNumber],
    bkpmf.media_count AS [MediaCount],
    bkpmf.logical_device_name AS [LogicalDeviceName],
    bkpmf.physical_device_name AS [PhysicalDeviceName],
    CASE WHEN bkpmf.device_type > 100 THEN bkpmf.device_type - 100 ELSE bkpmf.device_type END AS [BackupDeviceType],
    CAST(CASE WHEN bkpmf.device_type > 100 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END AS bit) AS [IsBackupDevicePermanent],
    bkpmf.physical_block_size AS [PhysicalBlockSize]
    FROM
    msdb.dbo.backupmediaset bkpms
INNER JOIN msdb.dbo.backupmediafamily bkpmf ON bkpmf.media_set_id=bkpms.media_set_id
    WHERE
    (bkpms.media_set_id=@_msparam_0)',N'@_msparam_0 nvarchar(4000)',@_msparam_0=N'3'
So it's possible that your backup software is purging that table, eg by runningmsdb.dbo.sp_delete_database_backuphistory.
Or perhaps more likely, your backup software is adding data to the SQL Server backup history that prevents SSMS from pre-populating the backup dialog with your last TSQL backup location.
In any case, you don't need to manually take the bakcups through SSMS every day.  You can just save a script of your backup commands (by hitting the Script button on the backup dialog) and run that.  Or create a SQL agent job to run the script
or use a database maintence plan.
