the graphics is too bad and I don't be able to understand why
The driver for the graphic card is enabled!

    Thanks PhiLho
Well ,after i configured my NVIDIA graphics card's CPanel
I select "Let the 3d application decide" which had solved this problem.
Actually i had selected "Use my preference emphasizing : Quality" before so i got bad graphic i think.
    Any way it's solved ..
and one more confusion If you don't mind telling what's the use of Point3D in javafx 1.3?

  • Bad graphics of iOS7, its very childish and anoying

Please change the graphics of iOS7, its very childish and anoying. We are loosing most of our customers because of this iOS 7 bad graphics. The should be very fast.

This is an iPad user to user forum, so you are not addressing Apple.
Send feedback/suggestions to Apple. But you need to describe "childish & annoying".

    webweave,
    Welcome to the Apple discussions!
Generally, as discussed above, having 2 mount points for the same disk in the volumes folder won't prevent a successful backup. But in your case (#15!), that's a problem. More often than not, they are being created by Time Machine because you already have one or more instances of the Time Capsule disk mounted on your desktop. Ejecting the TC disk when it is not needed is the best way to avoid creating multiple mount points.
If you have any further questions, please post them in a new thread. You can refer back to this discussion with a link if necessary.
    Cheers!

  • Bad Graphics Card? Replacement?

Over the last 2 days my computer has been very, very sad Bad graphics glitches. Freezes. Bad startups, etc.
All my RAM seems to be okay, and my startup disk does, too.
So I was wondering if my graphics card had gone belly up?
    I have a GForce 8800.
My buddy at work had a fairly new ATI Radeon HD 2600 HD, and he gave it to me today to test.
I came home, and swapped them out. But I get BLACK on my monitor. Nothing. Nada.
The Nvidia still works (although it gives me the glitches and the now-frequent panics).
Do I need a DRIVER for this ATI?
If I can't boot up 100% how can i hope to install it?

    Thanks for the response!
I've actually been able to share my sreen via my MacBook.
It's pretty obvious that it WAS my old GPU. Ugh.
What's WEIRD is that I haven't seen my MacPro this FAST in a while! Its' pretty obvious that this card was on it's last legs for a while!
This "zippiness" makes me think that I could get a few more years out of this puppy yet!
    Any other suggestions for cards?
I'm having a real time finding viable options that I KNOW will work with this 3,1 model. Not a lot of "enter your model, and we'll list the options for you" kind of sites. At least that I know of.
For instance, would this one from Amazon work?
    http://www.amazon.com/XFX-GeForce-8800GT-PCI-E-PVT88PYDD4/dp/B000YB0BRM/ref=aag_ m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=ASA308HFU5YZ6
Again, thanks a TON for your help.

  • [SOLVED] LXDE menu blank unless root?

I'm new to Arch Linux and have been setting it up for my netbook and have run into a problem. I have installed LXDE but when i run it as a non-root user the menu is blank showing only "Run" and "Logout", as root everything is there. When i logout there are a few errors in the terminal (cannot load netstat plugin, unable to find a valid menu file and some dbus stuff) but these same messages come up regardless of whether im root or the normal user so they dont explain why the menu isnt working. The openbox menu.xml file is the same for both root and my user account. I haven't had any luck looking for a solution on the forums, wiki or google.

    Did you do this:
    mkdir -p ~/.config/openbox
    cp /etc/xdg/openbox/menu.xml /etc/xdg/openbox/rc.xml /etc/xdg/openbox/autostart ~/.config/openbox
What is in your "~/.config/openbox" folder?  Perhaps you are using a system-wide configuration instead of a user-configuration if you didn't copy those skeleton files?
I'll try to help but I don't have much experience with LXDE, I'll take a moment to do a shameless plug for Xfce4 which I'm competent enough with that it's not broken... Yet...
Yeah i did do that. In root i only have lxde-rc.xml, but as my user it has autostart, environment, lxde-rc.xml, menu.xml, rx.cml. Autostart, environment and menu.xml are green too?
swanson wrote:Your own app/system menu in lxpanel, thats the one, not openbox menu ? If that's the case then the menu config should be in /home/"user"/.config/lxpanel. You might have to rebuild the menu cache for lxpanel menu; rm all in .cache/menus - restart lxpanel.
That would make sense, i dont have any config files there a root or user though - so once again i can't understand why it's working normally as root. I've already removed the menu caches stuff once before and it didn't change anything when i ran lxde again.

  • [solved] Slow unless root...

I've noticed that games (I've tried openarena, warzone etc) are running MUCH slower as an ordinary user compared to when run as root. For instance, openarena plays at full speed as root whereas when logged in as a normal user it takes more than ten seconds just to render the main menu.
Have I installed X wrongly? Is there  some special setting that I have missed?
    Thanks, R.

You can only use 3D acceleration if you are in the 'video' group. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Users_and_Groups .

  • Upgrade to kernel 3.12 and over - No graphics unless with "nomodeset"

    Hi all,
Soon after kernel 3.12 came out, I downloaded and installed it, as customarily ( custom kernel ). I do not create a proper package for the kernel, I'm afraid I am not really into that stuff, even though it might be of help in managing my kernels, I admit.
Anyway, I found out that all the kernel versions from 3.12 forth ( including the latest 3.13.0-rc2 ) broke my video and freezed my laptop. I'm completely unable to get control of it anymore, and if I log in from ssh before launching X, the connection terminates after a few seconds. No logs, nothing. If I run X from the ssh console, I see the messages stop after "Loading extension GLX"
My laptop is an Inspiron 15R SE, featuring an Intel i7 CPU, which includes i915 graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a discrete gpu board, a Radeon HD 7730M.
I was able to use vgaswitcheroo with the 3.11 kernel, and it worked like charm with a proper X configuration, but even by moving the X config directory to a backup location, the laptop still freezes. I tried several combination of driver configurations, but none worked till now.
The only way I manage to use X is by removing every configuration ( backing them up ), and by passing the "nomodeset" parameter to the kernel.

does this "*-display:1 UNCLAIMED" mean that the device is not used and lacks the correct driver?
    Thanks

That means you only have one display device connected, so unless you have two connected, just ignore it.
If you look under description you will see that one is VGA and the other is the display adapter.
    Regards.

  • Bad superblock on root slice

I booted up my machine yesterday, and got dumped out at the grub prompt. I booted from the CD, and after some investigation I found that the disk partition table was ok, and the Solaris VTOC appears to be fine as well. I was able to mount and access the /usr, /var, and /export file systems, but slice 0 with the root file system has a bad magic number in the superblock.
As I see it, I have a few options. newfs slice 0 and restore from the last dump, trust what newfs says about the alternate blocks and fsck away, or try to repair the superblock using fsdb. I figure that since the root file system is probably unrecoverable, I may as well try using fsdb. At best I might be able to recover the file system. At worst I learn about using fsdb before I newfs and restore.
Any ideas for things I may have missed, guides to using fsdb, estimates of my chances for success?

That is true. For end-users this is a convenient feature when using an OS because then they don't actually need to know the difference between Audio CD formats and CD-ROM formats - which in this case I was not aware of before now. Reading the wikipedia article on the Rainbow Books did clear things up.

Thanks, I tried it and it froze my computer until I ejected my cd. I will try more of this later on.

Firefox 3.6 and 4.0 beta having graphic problems by scrolling up and down.
Images and text stutters very bad. I use Chrome now because it's damn annoying. Safari, Opera and Chrome works fine..
    I tried:
    - Reinstall Firefox
    - Trying beta 4
    - Reinstall OSX
    Nothing of this helped.
Either one of my friends has this problem on his MacBook Pro.
    Please, fix this.

I am pissed off and won't use firefox anymore.. screw this

  • Bad graphic performance

    Hi all
I've been working on an animation project (using Carrara), and initially thought that bad colour banding in shade areas was due to the program.
Now I have tried a simple grey scale in Photoshop, and find that if I adjust the brightness, the same horrible banding occurs. It has a posterised/insufficient colour depth look to it.
I don't recall this occurring before I changed to Snow Leopard; the change in gamma makes me wonder, but I really don't know what might be occurring.
Does anyone have any observations? Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I did search.
    Thanks
    Peter

I'm experencing the same issues as well. The update specifically referenced "graphics performance," so it's safe to assume Apple made some driver changes here. Thus, this will likley require a further update from either Apple or Blizzard.
I don't have a solution but I have issued a ticket with Blizzard. I would suggest you do the same as well. If enough WoW players are experiencing this problem then Blizzard will be more likely to fix it, or file bugs with Apple.

  • G5 Power Mac with bad graphics card?

I have a 3 year old G5 Power Mac running 10.6.4 and a 30" Cinema Display. Sometimes, in the middle of a task, my display goes black. Can't bring it back and have to sometimes restart the computer 2-3 times before the display comes back on. This has also happened with my previous 23" monitor so it seems to be the computer. Is my graphics card going bad?
    Thanks for any help.

Did you ever update the firmware?

Is the card clean? The X1900 is a notorious dust catcher, resulting in premature death due to over heating.
