BADI - Diff. Class generated in Definition and Implementation

Hi all,
When we define a BADI, a BADI class is generated. When we implement the BADI, another class is generated.
1) What is the difference between these 2 classes?
2) As I know, we use the class generated in Implementation to instantiate and call the BADI method in our program. What about the class generated in Definition? What is it used for?

I noticed that under Definition, the class generated is with cat= Exit class while under Implementation, the class generated is with cat= general object type. Both can be instantiated for use in ABAP program.
What is the difference/usage of these 2 generated classes?

Class parametrized type extends and implements, possible?

Hi all,
Maybe I'm not understanding it well, but every time I try to use generics for something useful I get to a point in which I need to define something like this:

public class MyClass<T extends Component & MyInterface<T2> > {
T myObject;
.... somewhere in the code:
T2 value;
value = myObject.get();
To me, this would be very useful, but MyClass does not compile. I hope what I try to do is clear (I want T to be a sub class of Component that also implements a parametrized interface). I don't know what I'm doing wrong nor if this is even possible. Believe me when I say I have done a lot of research (and people thought C++ templates where complicated...).
My main problem is having a parametrized type that contains a parametrized type and trying to have both types' parameters available for use in the class.
Any ideas?

How to search for BADI and also creating and implementing the badi .

There are two steps in User Exit creation.
1} Identify the User Exit suitable for the requirement and that is available in the system:
Code SE18 is used to Identify the BADI available.
Look for the string 'CL_EXITHANDLER' in the standard program. This is a class which has a method 'GET_INSTANCE' which is used to trigger BADI's from the Standard Program. The interface parameter for this static method 'EXIT_NAME' is used to pass the BADI to the method.
Open Standard Program and do a global search 'CL_EXITHANDLER'.
SE18 > give the BADI name found through above search.
CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA > which has a method SAVE_DATA.
2} Implement the User Exit identified through above process.
T.Code SE19 is used to Implement BADI.
SE19 > give the implementation name > Give the Definition name as CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA and the Short Text.

Business Add-Ins
Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits (SMOD/CMOD Page 40), two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers), but instead allow for multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time.
In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to control add-in implementation and make it dependent on specific criteria (on a specific Country value, for example). All ABAP sources, screens, GUIs, and table interfaces created using this enhancement technique are defined in a manner that allows customers to include their own enhancements in the standard.
A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task. In Release 4.6A, program and menu enhancements can be made with Business Add-Ins. The actual program code is enhanced using ABAP Objects. In order to better understand the programming techniques behind the Business Add-In enhancement concept, SAP recommends reading the section on ABAP Objects

1) execute Tcode SE18.
2) Specify a definition Name : ZBADI_SPFLI
3) Press create
4) Choose the attribute tab. Specify short desc for badi.. and specify the type :
multiple use.
5) Choose the interface tab
6) Specify interface name: ZIF_EX_BADI_SPFLI and save.
7) Dbl clk on interface name to start class builder . specify a method name (name,
level, desc).

4) Choose interface tab. System proposes a name fo the implementation class.
ZCL_IM_IMLINESEL which is already generarted.
5) Specify short desc for method
6) Dbl clk on method to insert code..(check the code in AAA).
7) Save , check and activate the code.

Concrete classes implement abstract class and implements the interface

I have one query..
In java collection framework, concrete classes extend the abstract classes and implement the interface. What is the reason behind extending the class and implementing the interface when the abstract class actually claims to implement that interface?
For example :
Class Vector extends AbstractList and implements List ,....
But the abstract class AbstractList implements List.. So the class Vector need not explicitly implement interface List.
So, what is the reason behind this explicit definition...?
If anybody knows please let me know..

Parameterized inheritance and implementation

I'm learning generics, and I'm having a problem getting the following to work
I have a base class with some data/behavior

//...I cannot seem to specify that the type for Base must be a Map<K, V>.
I've thought about containing and delegating, but really Concrete IS-A Base and Concrete IS-A Map.
Am I missing something about inheritance and generics?

Based on your previous posts I think you understand generics as well as I do, and in some aspects, probably better.
I was trying to capture my thought processes (and that is quite hard since mostly this happens sub-consciously - its quite hard to drag it up into consciousness then document it, but the effort was worthwhile for me and hopefully for others as well).
In this particular case, E is Map<K,V>, but there could be all sorts of relationships between the type variables, the idea is to identify these and back substitute them, slowly getting rid of type variables until you can't get rid of any more. The ones you are left with are the ones that need to be type parameters.

So we look through and see what type variables are still unresolved. These (in this case there is only one K), are then the type parameters of the class, and thus we have what I suggested in that post

}As a final step, we need to look at the type parameters and decide if they need any constraints (K extends something), These might come from some use of the type parameter ( such as if Keyable constrained its K parameter, we would need to do the same), or from the application requirements. At a certain level of abstraction, this process is not a whole lot different to the process you use when working out what parameters a method or constructor needs (and that process also tends to happen below the consciusness threshold).
In really simplistic terms, the answer to both "what parameters do I need" questions is "all the ones you can't get from somewhere else or derive from the ones you already have".

The user-exit can be implemented once, i.e. it can be used once: so it can be used to solve a particular customer situation.
The BADI can have several implemantations, so the same BADI can be used several times, and so it can be used to solve problem of customer, for business (so different implemantion for every SAP vertical, for example one for AFS, one for OIL,......), for a specific for a country (it's the case for the FI BADIs used to solve different legal specific of every country where SAP is implemented), .......

Generate AS3 service and value classes for Blaze -- without FB4

Is there a way to generate service and value object classes (like Flash Builder 4 does) from a command line -- or more specifically from within Maven?
We have a Java/Maven back end and wish to generate the action script 3 classes as part of the build process rather than interactively from within an IDE.

It should be easy to code something to parse the java classes in Adobe Air and create the Blaze objects. I did it once didn't take too long.

DFD diagram and ER crossmatrix for role definitions and role's privileges on objects

Having the question on derivative use of combination of DFDs and ER diagrams ( let us be more fixes and focus on Relational model ).
In DFD there are defined external entities and functions, data flows and data stores that are forming processes.
Functions represents procedures, transactions, transformations.
Dataflows presents procedures parameters, intermediate reports, temporary table data, data that is passed , retrieved/written, signals, triggers/events that controle or trigger function...
Context of my question is focused on external entities.
External entity suppose to denote the sourced or destinationed system ( for example Archiving system ) or operator, system that is out of scope of the DFD and it is mentioned just as target or destination or source of dataflow or control flow.
In context of these understandings I am using external entitiy also for types of users of the system: staff that is triggering functions or schedulers or job managers, or reporting systems ( or components of reporting systems like for example business intelligence extraction processes ).
What is my problem that on basis of external entity definitions and E/R model also define roles and privilege classes for access to data objects.
And from those generating ddls for database roles, privileges on entitities to those roles.
But in privileges granting to role having two different kind of privileges on data objects:
- privileges that are granted on various schema objects
For example role1 has grant on tab1, view2, procedure1, package3,
- the other type of privilega is based on the scope or range of semantically defined scope or semantic area.
Semantic area is scattered through tables because of normalisation and using semantic area as entity of which primary key is
partitioning the table data through many semantic areas.
So this privilege should be granted on basis of the rows in table not column ( more semantically then structurally ...row oriented more than column ).
Both privileges that are granted to roles are also basis for functional roles
( privilege that is granted that functional role has grant to trigger or execute some function or process ).
My question is?
How do you handle modeling technology for analysis and design for role privileges and consolidation between database and functional roles ?

Guess I was looking for the formal sequence of steps that would bring me to the
ddls for "create role ..." and "grant privileges to role".
You can do that.
1) I assume you have logical model and it's engineered to relational model, also you have data flow diagram created
2) You need to define information structures for flows connecting "Information store" to primitive process - attribute usage of particular entities should be defined for those "information structures" processed in flows
3) You need to define create, update and delete operation for flow going from primitive process to store - read is assumed in opposite direction
4) create a role in Process model and assign primitive processes to it - list of available processes to add depends on current data flow diagram
5) You need an open physical model for your relational model
6) Select "transfer process model roles to physical model roles" from context menu of top level DFD - select roles, relational and physical model there - roles with related permissions will be created in physical model
Entity1 is divided in several subtypes for different business areas.
And account manager for business_area1 is allowed to work on subtype1 ( view on prime table )...
Different implementation of entity hierarchies are not processed correctly in that wizard - i.e to get permissions to table corresponding to child entity - that entity should be used in information structure and flow.

In the purchase requisition the field (EBAN- PREIS) valuation price is configured as required, and the value is adopted from the material master record field (MBEW-VERPR) moving price. This moving price may differ on the same material based on the assigned plant. For example:

The plant field in the Purchase Requisition is mandatory except for document type RV. When this document type is assigned SAP doesnt know which moving price to apply and so the user is prompted to manually enter a value.
To ensure an appropriate value is entered SAP should apply the value from the material master record plant 1000 where the plant field in the RV Purchase Requisition field is blank.
Essentially the same scenario applies to the Purchasing Group. As with the plant, the Purcahsing Group should be copied from the plant 1000 material master record.
SAP should apply the value from the material master record plant 1000 where the plant in the RV Purchase Requisition (EBAN-WERKS) is blank:

ED-standard schema for describing the message structure.If you have the structure provided to you from some external application you can use it in PI directly without recreating in PI.you can import following formats which are used to describe message schema
WSDL (Web Service Description Language),
XSD (XML Schema Definition Language),
DTDs (Document Type Definitions)
Imported Archives: its used basically for java and xslt mapping where you create the required mapping externally using some tools
(java-eclipse/NWDS .XSLT-stylus studio).You can also implement XSLT and Java mappingsf and save them as archives in the Integration Repository.

Error while calling badi using class cl_exithandler with getInstance

I have created BADI Def   and Implementation using se18   and se19 with some interface methods..
Problem:
I'm writing a report to call that using class CL_EXITHANDLER but it shows an Exception..

My problem is about how to directly load an existing xml file in an in memory structure without building a procedure that creates node by node and put it in the tree.
Is this possible?
Is possible to use the binding mechanism given by the ElementFactory interface of the DOM specification( I think it is not, because the class CGNode does not extend a base class that implements the Element interface
and it seems that doesn't implement that interface itself)?
